Yeah Kamara that’s fine and right. But they have and do make outfits and new armor all the time. It wouldn’t be impossible for them to make some of the more popular items. Or heck some of the more elite armors from FoW.

I really did expect them to make FoW armor for the HoM’s that would have been nicer than what is in the HoM skin wise.

I don’t think anyone here thinks it’d be that easy, to be honest. It doesn’t change the fact that these are skins some people would like to see updated for GW2 though.

It will make risk jumps a lot easier tough.
In the end its more Air Time and More distance.

Plus you won’t die if you fail a jump.

Still won’t break most JPs.

Do not tell me what I want, I do want gliding in central Tyria.

Arena Net are not idiots, they are modifying each map to take gliding into account.

T5 is the only material that drops from fractal encryptions, in large quantity too. Would be nice if there was a chance to get T6 instead of T5, which would help the value of T5.

That’s the only big “new” source of mats that I can think of, and it’s a pretty big source too.

T5 were dropping for quite a while as we got closer to HoT. People were unsure what would happen with the old legendary weapons so forging of precursors slowed down quite a bit. Additionally, HoT and Halloween dropped at the same time. Halloween introduced a huge supply of T5 mats, in addition to the large influx of mats by returning players in HoT zones. Finally the new legendary weapons don’t have forgeable precursors again lowering the demand for T5 fine mats.

As such they are basically worthless now. As normal population resumes over the coming months the excess supply will dwindle but the demand is still pretty low and Halloween brought in an unbelievable amount of mats.

Elder wood and mithril went up with precursor crafting demand.
The total costs to craft a rare are fairly close to the costs prior to HoT, but whereas it used to be the t5 fines that made up most of the cost, it is now the wood and mithril.

t6 fines except blood have also dropped a bit, but t6 dust has held up, so it is not really attractivel to promote t5.

Guild hall upgrades also use a lot of mithril and elder wood.

Somebody mentioned the fall damage reduction traits. That was something I hadn’t considered should gliders go full access for everywhere. On the one hand, they might need to stay so players who don’t have access to HoT can still make certain otherwise deadly jumps, but on the other hand, if they’re dumped it might also give us access to new traits which could greatly shake up or improve build diversity.

And every single jumping puzzle in the game just became trivialized and you can bet countless players will find ways to skip most of the hard parts.

Like log out in front of the Chest?

If someone want to “exploit” using the glider to find a better way to do the jp ( and i’m not sure it could exist… also, after a bunch of years of gw2 plus halloween/xmas, jp are still cool but not hard ), it wont be a problem.

To me, it’s a great idea ( maybe, unlocked on “old tyria” by completing most of the HoT masteries, to let the new players explore the old tyria by walking ).

yeah exactly. it’s not like people can’t already game JPs & chests through parked alts and mesmer portals… gliding to a JP in many cases is just an alternative way to solve the problem, which will only be available to players that have played their way through HOT… seems pretty fair & reasonable to me.

gliding everywhere including WVW maps would really lift the game IMO. WVW would require additional work of course to prevent trivialising objectives, eg: guards or turrets that shoot down gliders, or gusts that keep players out etc, but it’s totally doable.

In fact the dessert BL map is really crying out for gliding IMHO.

I’d advise you to take a deep breath, thinki, and make a list of jp’s, then think of a way in which this would make them significantly easier. Then post that list here. I’m certain you will find that list to be way shorter than you might think. In fact, offhand i can think of only one such jp (Behem gauntlet)… well, maybe two (pig iron mine might also be easier, though i think that the height difference between beginning and end is too small for gliding to work there).

Actions, not words.

Perhaps fix your game before you implement new stuff.

Then we’ll never get new stuff…

Chill out. Yes there is plenty wrong and to be fixed in GW2, but at the same time this is a very welcome addition.

Unless they put updrafts in the Jp’s there’s not gonna be to many skipping
after all most -if not all- go UP not down only thing this will allow is maybe some recovery of the JP if you fall off instead falling to your death / starting over and most old zones are flat vs H.O.T i see more advantages with map complete with things like vista’s and point of interests than Jp’s

A nice staff indeed. Very detailed.

It is, however, a staff that doesn’t go with every armor and dye combination. Over the past couple weeks I’ve seen a max sized norn with pink armor moustache, a thief with underboob and neon red mcflower hair and a charr with mad king’s outfit, all of them carrying the staff.

Please, have some sense of fashion. Mix and match your armor set and you will look fabulous.

Actually the stakes were not to stop a single opponent but a large force… You have to imagine you are running at those stakes with 1000’s of other attackers, then they channel and slow enemies. Stakes have been a basic defense system for thousands of years, Anet did not reinvent the wheel…

  1. A story that is not full of a series of short-lived plotlines never picked up again (PS), terribly inconsistent in the lore (S1/S2), or giving an obvious rushed feeling (HoT).
  2. No obvious plot “twists” (Eir and Trahearne’s deaths were terribly obvious) and no potential unfulfilled story hooks (Malyk, Faolain/Caithe fighting Mordremoth, Nightmare/Dream/Mordremoth relation, Nightmare Court fighting Mordrem, etc.). ESPECIALLY when such unfulfilled story hooks are explicitly stated to exist (Nightmare Court fighting Mordrem was stated pre-release to be explored in depth in HoT, but we barely scratched it).
  3. Retroactive improvements to prevent powercreeping.
  4. Tengu and/or largos playable race.
  5. New weapon types – not just new weapons available to professions (warrior’s gonna run out of sensible weapons without new ones soon).
  6. A revamp of the Guild World Boss ‘missions’ that make them actual medium/hard/opportunity missions (instead of tokens as they are now) which takes a bunch of current and old world bosses and makes them truly challenging in an instance (e.g., a Shadow Behemoth that is on par to Mouth of Mordremoth/Tequatl or Triple Trouble/Chak Gerent).
  7. More than just four maps – I’d like six at least, preferably eight though, given HoT’s maps.
  8. Maps which have more story to them than the meta event. Dry Top worked because the sandstorm wasn’t ‘the story’ of it; Silverwastes worked because it wasn’t on a timer, was well balanced, and was one of a kind at the time; but five such maps? Boring. Especially when one limits exploration and map completion based on meta progression. I’d prefer a mix of Silverwastes/Auric Basin and Orr maps. A central meta to guide players, but plenty of exploration outside of the meta, with full exploration access from the get go (if necessary, maybe except one or two easily-reached things).
  9. A raid that is more reminiscent of Underworld or Fissure of Woe – not just miniboss-boss-miniboss-boss-miniboss-boss.
  10. More fractal maps.
  11. More dungeons. Fractals are NOT a proper replacement for dungeons.
  12. Tier 4 Cultural armor/weapons, which sell as exotics.
  13. Legendary trinkets
  14. 500 Jeweler/Chef
  15. More means of Crystalline Ore
  16. Larger in-game world map. There’s no reason for ArenaNet to squeeze their maps into the current world map. It made the location of Mordremoth seem silly due to the proximity to Rata Sum but lack of attack on it, which wouldn’t have been an issue if ArenaNet expanded further west in the world map.
Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

- Better story telling and more lore-based content. More flavour text. More backstory. Guild Wars has an interesting world and I’d like to see it fleshed out. HoT was really disappointing in that regard.

- Land spears! Pls Anet. This is the best way to add a new weapon type. The art is already there. Make some elite specs that use spears / tridents. I want to play a tanky warrior with a spear.

more armor choices, and I mean real choices. no more jackets/coats/long drapes for medium armor. Leather Harnesses for males, more form fitting armor, things that could be useful for a barbarian or a athetic kind of thief available for all races, not just norn or charr.
We guys also want to feel sexy sometimes ;o
And as for new places, I’d LOVE a dark sinister city, with a dark victorian england vibe to it. Also haunted places, haunted houses, haunted ships, haunted graveyard, sinister and dark forests, creepy tower ruins, creepy towns, BRING ON THE CREEPY!

Cantha based. Pleeeeease? -puppy eyes-

Tengu as a playable race (maybe a new class…would be nice but doesn’t really matter).

One or 2 new weapons which would give new skills to all classes. New Utility and Elite Skills would be nice too, but I know that would mess with balance and stuff.

Revamped dungeons with revamped rewards.

More than 2 new armor sets. And Canthan-based weapon skins (not gemstore only ones, either).

Hero Followers with customizable gear and skills. (Kidding!)
