Chests are giving area leveled loot I believe.
Drops from mobs tend to give more on-level item but might drop area-level items as well.

I thought you were supposed to get items equal to your actual level..
Nope, only exp. you get is upgraded to be usefull for your “normal” level.

Your rewords could be enogh gold to cover the cost of waypoints (and a little extra) so worth more if you walk and some awsome item for completing a chain (like a mail bag back slot ;P)
I mean hell all one of the quest needs to be is something like getting a job as a mail man in LA your misson to diliver mail to the people of h land. Higher levels as you progrss you have to diliver the mail to solders in orr
You know what this game needs more of. The quest like what we had for halloween to get the book. It got people out into the world eploring and often into area’s were DEs were already active.
We need more of that
Hearts are those quests. Some of them even involve turning in trophies.
Personally, I feel that the GW2 system of heart areas and dynamic events makes questing a more fluid part of exploration since it all comes along with hitting PoI and vistas and gathering resources, not a rote and banal series of repetitive events driven by a bunch of lazy NPCs with punctuation above their heads. Sure, overall we’re doing the same exact thing, there’s no two ways around that, but I don’t know, at least for now I don’t feel like sighing as much when I enter a new explorable map.
Not that all quests done in the "traditional" sense were bad -- quite the contrary. There have been some great quests in various games launched by our !-equipped, coded friends.
Edit/addition:
Though it’s my opinion that we could all benefit from quest-driven events for "cool" gear. Don’t get me wrong -- the current legendary system has some really neat looking skins and gives the endgame play an carrot on a stick. That’s cool. But I am disappointed that it’s essentially just a matter of grinding (be it for the mats or the money) and buying with no neat storyline or event. But I don’t want to get to off-topic, so I’ll reign myself in here...

I just miss the classic type of quests.
> Kill NPC XYZ
> Kill 20 Rats
> Collect 10 Roots of XXXX
> Epic quest line
> Small Sidequests
The dynamic Quest system is good but in addition i miss the old Quest system.
I miss to have a classic “To do List” when i log into the game.
I would love to have 10-20 Quests to finish when i log in instead of roaming around looking for Events in form of Circles on the map.
Thank you
Andrew
Inquest – Crucible of Eternity
Dredge – Sorrow’s Embrace
Rogue/Bloodsaw – varied items from green to exotic, have different names, share icons with dark green background
Also here’s an useful site with pretty big armor gallery:

I wonder if this bug report will ever be seen considering how many threads are inundating the bug report section.
If you have played another race like Human, you probably have noticed that Asura Max zoomout with camera is lower and the camera sits lower towards the ground. The lower visibility caused by this gives other races an advantage in sPvP.
Please ask devs to change this.
true, norn camera height might be overkill. i still needs to be higher IMO. in heavily vegitated areas, my screen is covered in weeds and leaves….am i the only one who notices this?
i like the asura for a lot of reasons. one of them is the fact that they take up less screen real estate and let me see a little more of the game world. however, this doesnt work out too well in the real world because the camera is placed to low to the ground. if feels like im always staring at the ground. camera height should be normalized between all the races otherwise the shorties are at a disadvantage when it comes to seeing the battlefield.
The Court-Supreme of Moralethicism - Meccal MAJORITY presiding.
in Asura
Posted by: Jack Angelfoot.2697
*Hear ye, hear ye! The Court of the Supreme – Meccal, Profound Fount of Moralethicism, is in session.
Meccal, himself presiding in his singularity as the acumenical MAJORITY. Harken! Harken unto his wisdom and let the illumination of ethics and the bright beam of morality guide your path.*
(By order of Meccal, the “Spoiler” tag shall be used to truncate length of opinions.)
The Reason for The Court – Supreme, of Moralethicism
It has come to the attention of many that, while Asura are widely known for their immeasurable intellect, we have also become known as immoral, amoral, unethical, and even monstrous.
This problem is twofold in nature.
- Most Asura have vast mechanical and scientific knowledge, yet pitiful comprehension of true moralistic philosophy. Thus, they are perhaps more susceptible then a member of a typical semi-intelligent race towards neglecting to take morality into account. Thus, of all the claims levied against Asura, amoral is probably the least errant.
- Even when moral and ethical decisions are made by an asuran, many members of the semi-intelligent races seem to misunderstand the asuran’s motives. Essentially, due to their preeminent perception, asura are capable of making a moral decision beyond common understanding.
Meccal, the MAJORITY, of The Court – Supreme, of Moralethicism, shall ameliorate these problems.
The Purpose of The Court – Supreme, of Moralethicism
Meccal, in his Supreme virtuosity has mandated the following:
- Upon solicitation and grant of review, Meccal shall hear, judge, and prescribe the appropriate determination of moral and ethical conduct in any given situation. Thus, asura – and other semi-intelligent life-forms alike – may solicit Meccal for the correct answer to any moral problem and have no fear of making the wrong moral choice. Provided the asura utilize their The Court – Supreme, of Moralethicism, they will soon be known as the most moral of races.
- Meccal shall publish the MAJORITY opinion so that all asura – as well as semi-intelligent creatures – may read and understand that when the parties involved follow the dictates of Meccal, they are, in fact, acting ethically. Further, onlookers shall be able to assimilate themselves to the righteousness that they read.
Addressing The Court – Supreme
Meccal, in his Supreme capacity as singular MAJORITY, may be petitioned in the following manner.
- State the name (or pseudonym) of the party or parties.
(A case will be known as: “Party in the First v. Party in the Second, or Party in the First v. Conscience or, when applicable “In Re Happenstance”) - Note what type of being you are. The Court-Supreme is only open to moral determinations by races that are either: intelligent (asura and dragons) or semi-intelligent (humans, charr, sylvari, norn).
Petitions by Pseudo-intelligent creatures (Hylek (Simbifrogo-hopidus), Skritt (Rattus-talkatus), Quaggans (Delphinfollyus-leucas), or Tengu (Struthio-screachus)), psyco-intelligent creatures (Grawl (hyloba-tribus), Krait (Lepido-viciouso), Jotun (Dumbo-Thumpulous), and Ogres (Meano-Thumpulous)) or non-intelligent creatures (oozes, bovine, etc.) shall not be considered. (One cannot instruct those lacking the perceptive capacity to understand.) - State the question or argument of morality for The Court – Supreme to determine.
(E.g. “I need to know whether,” “He says, but I think,” “Should I,” “Was this right that,” etc.) - Make a petition for The Court – Supreme to hear your case.
(If you don’t care, Meccal don’t care.) - Include all due respect and flattery to This Court.
(It will not affect the moralethicism of the issue, nor the judgment in question. But it is greatly appreciated. Meccal is an asuran.) - Absolutely do not repeat the same question.
(If Meccal has already spoken, there is nothing left to be said.)
If The Court-Supreme has determined to hear your case, a notice will be published. Not later than Meccal determines appropriate, a MAJORITY opinion will be likewise published. DISSENTING opinions are not Meccal’s problem and do not reflect the opinion of The Court-Supreme.

Female asura bits—
“Go ahead— hit me” is Retaliation.
“Armor enhanced” is Protection.
“leave a dumb corpse” seems to happen when I pick up an environmental weapon, most often.
“Structural integrity compromised” happens at half-health.
“Mobility Impaired” — crippled
“THERE’s the power” — Might
There’s some others I don’t remember offhand.
Confusion = “Where am I”
It’s really is awesome game design. I always know when I get a debuff without having to stare at the UI.
Female:
Chilled – going hypothermic!
Crippled – my mobility is impaired
Fury – rage at maximum
Poisoned – I need an antidote!
Might – time to do some real damage
Swiftness – accelerating!
Regeneration – getting healthy
Vigor – never felt better
Healing turret placement – healing turret: activated / dispenser, here!
After killing an enemy – how that feels? excrutiating?

- “You’re dumb. You’ll die, and you’ll leave a dumb corpse.”
Haha, I love this one. I heard my Ranger say it once, but it seems my Necromancer says it a bit more often. I giggle every time I hear it.
I believe it is something along the lines of “i feel six feet tall!” theyre short, so when they succeed and “feel big,” it’s all the way up to 6, lol.
Hrm…
What can I think of, off top of my head? This is female Asura, btw.
- “You’re dumb. You’ll die, and you’ll leave a dumb corpse.” → Initiating combat, I think against humanoids only. Also used very infrequently.
- “Endurance: deficiency” → When trying to dodge while out of Endurance.
- “Structural integrity: compromised” → When nearly dead.
- “Go on, hit me!” → Protection.
I have trouble understanding some of the things my little guy says when he gains certain buffs. I know sometimes when he gets vigor he’ll say something like; “six feet tall!” but I have trouble figuring out some of the other things.
I’m actually disappointed they fixed my headgear to hide the ears. Here he is with ears clipping through headgear:
And without the ears:
I feel like the ears added a lot to my characters appearance. Without them the sides of my head feel barren and empty. Now if I want them back I need to hide my headgear.
Instead of fixing the armor to make the ears ‘not clip through’ it should be fixed so that there are slots for the ears to fit through. Why would asura want their ears to be folded up inside a helm in the most uncomfortable position? More pieces of gear need to be like the cultural armor where there is special accommodation for the ears to stick out.
Pretty much sums up my feelings.
That’s why I never started playing an asura engie. Asuras and charr like steampunk don’t fit. As do the backpacks imo. A simple aesthetics overhaul could fix this however. Those asura style magitech pistols and rifles look awesome. So why not have engineer turrets and backpacks in an similar style as well?
This is why I stopped playing an Asuran engineer.
Engineer is, contrary to what one might expect NOT BEFITTING an asura. Asura technology is all magic based, and all asuran magic users use gadgets. That elementalist (probably) isn’t naturally gifted with fire magic like some space elf, he has a thermomanipulator device and a focus in his staff.
Everything from their structures to their golems run on magic and follow laws psychics style. An asura who still insists on using fire, steam and clockwork to power his devices, would be like a soldier in a modern army bringing a bow and arrow with him – far from being cutting edge, it’d be quaint, cute and ineffectual by their standards ;0
Garnished Toast
It actually works out a bit well for me. I mean, my Asuran Engie is a Dynamics graduate, so a lot of his stuff as an Engie is borderline MacGuyver’d together from things he picks off his enemies, finds laying around, and anything he can hodge and podge together.
It’s all prototype stuff for him since Rata Sum didn’t start floating in a day.
Also, I love how the rifle skills work for him, they fit him perfectly since it makes it look like even when he’s winning he’s getting hiskitten kicked.
… mystical-technologically advanced look of their … gear
Mh – now that you mention it I feel the Asura also borrowed the Charrs’ cobblers who is used to make toe-less shoes
The Problem is:
Asuran tech is magic. Their Golems run on powerstones and are operated by magic.
Engineers do everything they do the non-magic way (it origined from the char and they have a bad attitude towards magic cause of their past).
Imho Asuran Engineer doesn’t fit lorewise, because why would an Asura choose to solve a problem without magic?
I play an Asuran engineer and I love the play style and feel its very unique. It has a lot of good things going for it like special kits for engineer specific weapons and such. My only gripe with the class ,which can be fixed in the future, is that all of the tech you use is not the sophisticated Asuran tech we all know and love, its dirty Charr steampunk tech instead. It is not a big problem but I find myself cringing every time I place a turret or use a kit. Much like most of you I created an Asuran for the mystical-technologically advanced look of their cultures homes, gear, and inventions and I wish that the engineer, which I know was first conceived by the Charr, would reflect that. Its not all that important in the long run but I hope they not only make the Asuran engineer feel Asuran but also the other races and classes as well.
“Necroing” this topic so my asura necro could have a smexy mohawk

I said it during BWE3 and I’ll agree here, Asura definitely need more hairstyle choices. Female Asura have the upper hand in this department, too, in my opinion. While they may have the same number, it just seems like a far better variety. Every male Asura I’ve created has ended up with the slicked-back hairstyle, because everything else looks ridiculous, but not in the silly Asuran way.
