Mounts just don’t fit in with how this game was designed. I can’t see how they would be implemented without screwing it up.
I can’t see how they would be implemented, so I’m against it? That is a very poor argument. Keep in mind that a form of mounts were added to Guild Wars 1, and they worked perfectly fine. And GW1 had much smaller explorables than GW2.
Just because you can’t think of a proper way to make mounts work in the game, is no reason to claim it is a bad idea. The only thing you need to worry yourself about is the question “would it be fun to ride an animal in GW2?”
To which I would say, yes!
I’m indifferent to mounts, but I would like a way to have semi permanent swiftness even if it is only out of combat. Running is way too slow unless you are a class that has speed boosts/skills.
As far as I can tell there are foods that give increased swiftness duration but not actual swiftness.
Please add them in the future. Even if they aren’t completely “necessary” with waypoints scattered across the map, they serve as cosmetic/aesthetic collectibles for achievement-oriented players and it would add so much to the visual experience of leveling/exploring zones to be able to stroll around on a well-designed ground mount.
The Guild system in guild wars 2 seems very thrown together to me and is lacking some MAJOR features even from the first gw that didn’t make it into the second.
-Mutli-Guild Problems- Possible Multi-Guild Fix 2 : Allow Mutli-Guilds. Limt the amount of guilds a character can be involved in. Do not limit chat involvement to only one guild, Create multiple channels for each guild, with same options as the normal chat system. Each Guild having an assigned and Customizable Color. When a character completes a task pvp/event/ect. which provides IP. IP is generated for all guilds the player belongs too. (Possibly with the option of splitting currency 1 guild membership = 100% to the guild, 2 guild membership 50%-50% and so on. “Representing” For a guild is purely cosmetic, Showing that guilds logo/Tag. Keeps Guild mates from other guilds Nameplates Orange, Even if not representing.
-Ranking System needs tweaking- In the current state the ranking system is very restricted. You cannot allow members to invite players without kicking them also. FIX: Split “Admin Lower Ranks” Into “Promote/Demote” and “Invite Members”.
-Organization within Roster I would like to see an organization option to have Ranks of ONLINE players be an option. If I sort the guild by Rank in the current set up it shows offline members. I would also like to see a break between the Ranks, A small line would even due just some organization.
-Officer Chat- Communication between officers/leader without having to make a ton of whispers or a party to talk
-MotD- “Edit” erases everything, it needs to do exactly what it says, Edit the message. Also Guild setting turning on/off if the message displays when a Character logs on/off
-Guild Description Currently the only place to put Guild Rules/Vent info in guild is in the MotD. Guilds need an area to put a description of what there about, and also include vent info, rules, other info that doesn’t take up a spot where guild events / achievements should be being announced.
-Notes- Both Officer and Public, Because Guilds are account based it is easy to lose characters in their alts. This would help Guild Leaders identify “Mains” for PvP teams, and PvE teams. Also this needs to be done to form a communication between officers if a member is being rude while one Officer is on they can leave a note so if it comes up again another officer can follow through. Also with positive influence, if an officer sees some leadership qualities they can write that in so the Guild Leader can keep an eye on them.
-(Name) Logged On/Off - Name says it all. Have a Guild setting to post when a Player has logged on or off of Guild wars.
-Last seen on- I have members in my Guild that I have no idea if they have even logged on since the launch of the game.
-Influence Tracker- I would like to see some sort of Account based influence tracking, While I can see this causing problems because Guilds could create Influence Quotas. I would like to see that so I can identify members who are pumping out influence and reward them.
-Emblem- I would like to see more “Showing Off” of emblems, Time being they are very small icons here and there. A couple options are Icons by names, Banners on weapons and armor ( not capes ) but literally a banner you wear on your back(much like the blade master in warcraft3).
-sPvP Bonuses- No I do not want to have a + 40Vitality (ect) buff for sPvP and tPvP. I would like to see more options to support Guilds within tPvP tho. “+ X% sPvP influence increase”, “sPvP Guild Finishing Move”, “sPvP armor banner”, “+Magic Find sPvP” (for chest rewards).
-Guild Halls- This was in the first Guild Wars and I would like to see it again. “Guild Hall” – Requires Max level in at least 1 Rewards Tree (Politics,AoW,Economy,Arch.) You also need to use influence to Purchase upgrades for your hall, Thus if a Guild has a hall using the Art of War tree they cannot get the same upgrades a guild using the Economy Tree has. Each tree will have its own unlocks for the Guild. Also a place to run PvP Skirmishes/Tournaments.
-Mailing Feature- Mailing Feature which would allow you to compose a message to either the entire Guild or Officers. This could be used to expand communication within the Guild as not all members are online at the exact same time. Could be used to Set times for Guild Events, Meetings, On what days Guild bonuses will be activated. Also adding a “Guild” tab to the mail screen. (And while we are at it a BLTC Tab)
-Guild Calender- Allows for organization of events / buffs for guild. Exactly what normal calendars do :P
Please provide Feedback.

Please don’t let this thread die to people starting threads about needing more squirrels in the game………. The Guild system needs adjustment and here are some good suggestions i have compiled into 1 thread.
I think you might of posted already but im doing my routine Search “Guild” and direct to my compilation

I agree with all your ideas but I have something to add.
I would like to see a per day limit that we can set for each rank for items and coin.
Setting for example 3 items per day allowed for withdraw, helps to protect our guild stashes from those that can currently come in and take everything all at one time, including coin.
As a guild leader since head start there are some real glaring quality of life issues that seriously need to be looked at for guilds. I was pretty disappointed to hear in the recent stream that guilds weren’t really being worked on at the moment. I understand Guild halls take time and I’m willing to wait for that but some of these things really need to be looked at.
Guild Bank
- Guild Bank funds(gold) should have separate permissions from than the guild bank items.
- Deep cave needs permissions there is no way to set permissions for deep cave currently.
Guild Message of the Day
- The Guild Message of the day should be shown to you when you log on, as it stands right now I still have members who are surprised to realize we even have a message of the day.
- If the Guild Message of the Day is updated it should be shown to all members who are currently logged in.
- When using the edit button in the Guild Message of the Day, it is not actually an edit feature when you have to constantly retype the entire message every time you need to change it.
User activity/communication
- If a member logs in visible & representing it should let you know they have come on line, also it should tell the guild when they log off.
- When you join a guild you should be notified that you need to click represent to interact with the guild, earn influence for the guild, & receive active buffs from the guild.
- Add a "last time logged in: or “Activity” column to the roster so we can keep track of inactive members.
- Show guild members on map (different color / icon if they are not in your party) or allow larger party’s for PvE world events. (not dungeons / wvw)
- Option to appear offline to guilds you are not representing. (i.e. I’m on an alt that is in another guild, but don’t want to be visible to guild of my main.)
- Alliance Chat and/or Custom Chat channels, currently there is no real way for Alliance guilds to chat in game with each other this can make coordinating events together very difficult.
- Officer Chat
- Allow Guild Leaders to send announcement type mails to guild members, allow more characters per email currently I am constantly hitting the email message suppression when trying to send mails to multiple guild members

During the Halloween events I greatly enjoyed the minigames/PVP that were available, especially Lunatics Inquisition. What I’m trying to suggest is to incorporate minigames such as the ones available during Halloween. To me personally they were fun, and had a range of objectives (such as surviving, crazy killing, helping collect bones, spider webs) and the small rewards at the end for the winning team was a really rewarding and nice way of ending the game being able to see your rank and achievements . I noticed that in this particular mini-game ( Lunatics Inquisition) there had been alot of communication made between players in teams, and it’s quiet rare for me to actually see people communicating in such a way ingame.
I’m more than sure some people may not like the idea of mini-games, but still.. I liked the introduction of them and would love to see them more.
I like the voices, makes the battle feels more alive. Take off the “voice effects” from the combat makes it less realistic.
I swear I will never understand people who argue against OPTIONS. You go right ahead and groove on the sound of your character’s voice saying the same things over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Some of us would like the option to disable that.

True, but some characters have REALLY annoying sounds, so the ability to turn them off if you wish would be good.
this happened one time to me
combat begins
5 seconds in
“EAT MY GUST!”
2 seconds
“Go ahead, hit me”
another 5 seconds
“Fury RISING”
another few seconds
“I feel… STRONG”
a few more battle quotes and then finally my character shut up. option to turn of combat voices please.
My Norn female ( Mesmer ) is driving me nuts when she uses her autoattack. All I hear is..Ooooop….Oooooop…Ooooooop !
I would LOVE to be able to turn off the voice from my character when it comes to combat. We can turn of dialog, but I cant tell that it affects combat voices :/
Please Anet!
I was wondering if the female characters could get their own dance. Or would this just be a stupid thing to suggest? I’m sorry if I offend you with my stupid ideas, but this popped into my head last night at work.
I was wanting the female human dance to be Elliot Reid’s “I Told You So” dance from the TV show ‘Scrubs’… preferably from Season 8 Episode 12 at the 14 minute mark.
Once again, sorry for the stupid idea.. just wanted to get it out of my head.
Any of you other guys / girls would like female characters to have their own /dance?
not stupid at all. In GW1 dances were divided both by sex and class . so male wars did one dance and female wars did another

There was one guy with a broken mouse that unintentionally did several clicks at once, a problem that may, like lag that makes you click again after a while, causeing multiple purchases, happen to anyone sooner or later. So, for pricy transactions like these, I’d vote for a system that prompts you again. An option to resell items for some time would a) be problematic in cases where you lose connection to the server and b) you’d have to make sure people don’t buy armor, transmutate it and resell it.
Whatever happened to being careful when you’re about to do a larger scale transaction?
When you have someone blabbing in your ear constantly and won’t shut up stuff happens. We’re all human and sometimes mistakes are made.
What happened to understanding that fundamental concept?
They’d probably just refund the karma cost directly since giving you the jugs would allow you to use a booster for some free karma.
Kamra boosters don’t effect jugs but even if they did 9 karma jugs doesn’t give me back my full amount (it would take 9.3 repeating jugs to refund me).
They’d probably just refund the karma cost directly since giving you the jugs would allow you to use a booster for some free karma.
Its not even that the cure is hard. I mean is it really that hard for them to take X item away from my inventory and give me 9 karma jugs as compensation?
I know this is within their power.
But yes, the prevention would be much easier and doable…very, very doable.
I experienced this issue in WOW a long time ago (before they added a cooldown period to your purchases) and had the correct item sent to me via in game mail after raising an in game ticket. This all happened within a matter of a couple of hours.
I had the same issue in the early days of SWTOR. It took a while to happen but the support team were able to provide me with the correct piece of kit via an in game ticket system. Unfortunately for me by the time it happened I’d outlevelled and replaced the piece of gear in question.
For GW2 support to say ‘too bad, that’ll teach you’ isn’t very comforting.
As has been stated, this could all be avoided with the inclusion of proper filtering on bind on acquire items such as karma and token purchased items. Prevention is always better and usually easier than cure.
Again, something from GW1 that should have been in GW2. Vendors that only show you what YOU can use.
100% support because i bought the wrong chest plate and i was gutted, it would help alot if i could only see ones i can wear.
I support this one. It takes too much time to filter through two-thirds of the armors which are next to useless for every single profession yet show up for no reason at all. For weapons it’s even worse as an engi since I can only use 3 types.
Delayed content is eventually good. Rushed content is eternally bad. ~ Shigeru Miyamoto
So I grind of hours, getting loads of karma, I’m buying my karma gear and MISCLICK I buy heavy karma armor which I can’t use. I message support immediately and they can’t help me.
I’m not impressed, karma takes a massive amount of time to farm and I’m fairly certain people HAVE been helped with refunds on purchased goods.
So instead of leaving thing to chance here why even show the heavy armors and other items from vendors that you cannot use?
I suggest putting them on a different tab under the vendor.
For the record I’m not impressed that anet can’t help me.
I know people who have had issues with gold items who have been helped and yet I somehow can’t be helped…
TL;DR
Make vendors have one of the following features
All items usable by your class are on the 1st tab
All items unusable by your class on the 2nd tab
OR
Option to resell items bought from a vendor for 100% of the karma, tokens or gold (cannot be boosted through things like karma booster potions) for X minutes after the purchase. Only the character who originally purchased the equipment can return it for a refund.
OR confirmation dialogue which can be filtered in your options setting.

This has been mentioned several times by players, and I’m with them.
Now that there’s Diving Goggles all over the world, more than ever, there’s reason to get naked. And it’s bland when everyone has the very same model and color of ‘bathing suits’.
But not just underwear. Also the hair accessory if your character’s hair has one should be dynamically dyable with your unlocked dyes.
Squares to dye them should ‘pop’ in the equipment panel when no gear is occupying the slot that corresponds that part of the body.
(edited by MithranArkanere.8957)
Ever since the beginning beta I’ve always wanted to be able to dye the underwear. Since when the armor breaks everyone sees the underwear the yellow color looks so unpleasant to me. In talking with some people they suggested it may have not been implemented because of some dyes matching the color of the skin so it would look like they are nude, which is bad for a family atmosphere game. So how about being able to dye the underwear but also have it limited to a set number of colors? Also having maybe 2 different colors would make it cute for the girls underwear, like a separate color for the lace. Thanks.
The rangers number 3 downed skill on ground and underwater is bugged.
It doesn’t happen everytime, but i’ve lost count of the amount of times it simply doesn’t work. The issue is that the pet walks over to your downed state character and just sits there, not doing any reviving whatsoever.
Extremely frustrating at times. Is this a known issue?
Again this doesn’t happen everytime, but it’s quite common for me!
I find it weird that there are barely any titles for PvE in general while PvP has titles shooting out it’s kitten
Probably so they can keep adding puzzles. Of course they could also add a workaround…
