…and crafting double incinerators, my beautiful ele, Xirn is complete! Just thought I’d share It’s a shame anet will take away flame kissed armor though
I gotta say that I fel in love with the company that created gw1. I followed them to gw2 with blind faith, while I once considered myself a fanboy my faith is slowly declining with every patch. Its not the same company it once was… The armor/stone speculation, while I don’t want to believe it… It could be true.
First of all, I have 12 chars at 80, I love to play different classes because I get bored quickly just playing one, I have 6 of them with several ascended items (weapons, accesories)
I prepared for this update with so much anticipation, had materials to level 2 armor crafting professions to 500. But suddenly I check the cost of the recipes and is 5 laurels + 3 gold for EACH piece of armor, this is too much Anet…
For those with several characters, for those who invest in experimenting with different builds have to wait 30 days for EACH set of armor is just excesive, Anet you are punishing the players who invest more hours in your game, by forcing to wait natural days to get laurels to buy the recipes.
This is enough reason to think about leaving the game.
Is it ok for a guild to want to do wvw as a guild with out hanger ons? Yes.
do they have to be jerks about it by using foul language and not helping downed players? no
It was 2 vs 20 but its ok we got’em both!
Guilds dont want rally bait to follow them.
What is this? I don’t even…
Title says it all!
Never in the history of ever have I ever found myself being happy that a ranger is in my party.
I know they said no tank, no heal etc etc… but my god whats the point of rangers? Warriors have shout/banners, Gaurdians are almost a prereq for higher end fractals, Mesmers bring utility, Eles have combo fields and Rangers bring…. an irritating pet that prolongs Jade Maw and cant be stowed.
I would love to make a ranger but I cant find a good PVE reason to make one….
Someone please inspire me to make a Ranger because I really loved Rangers in Gw1 and now I’m conflicted =(
I’d love a gem subscription option.
E.g: Pay x dollars, get 1000 gems a month for 12 months sort of deal.
I could type something profound here, with reasoned arguments and thought provoking statements, but we all know that dungeon hosting is ridiculous. I just had a nailbiting moment near the end of a fractal today. Not that the fractal was kittenly that we had been engrossed in completing it for around 2.5 hours and were very much invested in getting it done — all of which could have been upset by the whiny complainy “Dungeon host” who threatened (near the end of Dredge, our third fractal) to leave and screw us out of our time every 20 seconds.
It’s ridiculous that all of our effort and playtime are hedged on ONE PERSON DECIDING that he would like us to finish. We eventually beat dredge, and by placating him we got to Mai Trin, where he again threatened again and again and again to screw us out of our efforts and time if a single person screwed up on Horrik’s cannons and died.
He’s an immature little kitten and I’ll never group with this individual again, but I should never have to worry about having the carpet slung out from beneath me and have 2+ hours wasted because one person wasn’t having a good time/was being an immature kitten.
I’m not alone in feeling this way, there’s been countless posts on the forums/reddit and yet one person still has the absolute power to kitten over four other people.

People put up a big enough stink about flamekissed armor on Reddit/Forums and it was changed. Why can’t this issue be next?

Anyone know if they plan to add a filter to the Trading post so you can filter armor by Light Medium or Heavy. Would be Very helpful. Pretty Please can we have it <3
Much like a tray of mango pies? Set it down for group interaction.
The other weapon crafts could have similar recipes. This couldn’t be hard to code.
U dont need AR. If u can dodge = win in normal Fractals.
And when did u played last time gw? Thousends gold for legendary? hundreds for asc weapon? Lol.
Craft it yourself.
You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.
The new fractals have agony checks in form of constant agony during the beginning of the bossfights. I did weaponsmithing 1-500 just yesterday. Ontop of having almost ALL materials I had to spend roughly 100g on Soft Wood Plank, Orichalcum Imbued Inscriptions and some other things. Imagine being completely new to the game. The grindfest (either farming gold in dungeons or getting materials by farming) that ensues is horrendous.
1. legendarys are optional and not required
2. grind the mats took me 6 days to get 2x pistols and bought the ascended ingots / planks for very cheap in total when it came out cost me 90g for both weps.
3. I had the back item for a long time cost me 80g in total for the shiny 1.
4. most of the ppl at 40 + have been 48 + b4 the update came and had 55 ar because WE PUT THE EFFORT IN !
how do u get past 40 ? u grind 30 + till u got enough AR to go 40 +
sucks but if u didn’t bother with fractals b4 this patch your gonna have to do some hard work to get higher.
but hey 40 + is not intended for casual players anyway so either put the effort in or don’t bother
Fractal lvl 80 – 126 AR
Ehehehhehehee.
Fotm and rewarding in the same sentence.
I would say again that there are still people like me (look for another thread) that still wait for many of the GW1 armors.
We would really love to get any of them instead of reskins :| …
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Obsidian_armor
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Elite_Kurzick_armorNot all but some of these skins for sure would look awesome in GW2, Assassin Elite Kurzick was good looking in GW
Um… YES PLEASE!
I like a few of the non-elite Kurzick sets better than their elite counterparts but simplicity and elegance are hard when moar spikes or moar flamez are constantly making off with the armor artists…
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
- Jareth, King of Goblins.
So… The WvW Season 1 Chest rewards = 1 hour of Champion farming in Frostgorge Sound.
In fact, this is so true that it hurts.
Actually it’s about 20 minutes.
[CDS] Caedas
Sanctum of Rall
Feels like a kick in the teeth, after fighting hard for weeks the winning server gets what an hour in PvE would give.
I was REALLY hoping that the finisher would be permanent, but nope. 250 finishers later and we may have well come last in the season and filled our bags with PvE goodies instead.
~Desolation~
not too surprised at the rewards overall, but they should have had at least 1 item that was permanent. Like an NBA ring. You win that for life, and can always look back at it.
Would have been nice to get a ticket to pick up a season 1 ring skin that gives your hand a small glow based on whether you are first second or third.
Or if we have to go simple, put a Season 1 on the finisher and make it infinite.
I approve of this idea.
I do not approve of a commander tag on a Ranger :P
Bearer of Tyrion’s Personal Banner, and[BOMB] GvG Officer
My Ranger is a commander, I did this because at the time I was playing that more than any of my other characters. This was before they announced account based WXP. I was thinking that it would be nice to be able to bring that tag over to my other characters without having to shell out the 100g. I know a ton of people probably already bought multiple tags, and I doubt they’d mind getting a refund for that. Or do you think commander tags should be character based?
Personally I thought it was a little odd that anyone could just drop 100g and be a commander, and that there should have been some sort of proof that you have at least spent some time in WvW. Badges of Honor seemed like the way to go with that until they started giving out heaping piles of them for free with the achievement chests.
Doesn’t matter now, the monsters are out of the cage and tons of people have the tags. My main question is what people think of the idea of allowing you to use your tag on all your characters.
Aspiring Brotherhood [PACT]
Fort Aspenwood
just requiring you to be out of combat to res a finished player would be enough and would make a huge difference imo.
[TSFR] – Jade Quarry
I almost never see people with minis. There are a couple reasons for this I think.
First: You have to take it out every single time you change map/instance. That get’s really old, really quick.
Second: Deposit all sends it to the bank. Certain bags can do away with this problem, but it requires you to have those specific bags in the first place. I personally greatly prefer general use bags for all purposes.
There is a very easy solution to this that I think would greatly increase the popularity of mini’s and can’t imagine anyone not being in favor of: A mini-pet slot.
It would be in your “H” menu. You just pick a mini-pet that you want and ‘equip’ it. Then it will never be sent to your bank and it will automatically appear every time you enter a new map/zone.
Would you accept Mounts if…
- They where to function like vehicles with tank controls (see Red Dead Redemption) instead of an extension of your walking (see WoW).
- They cannot pass through certain uneven terrains, narrow passages, water and fences that otherwise people on foot can.
- They cannot follow you when you teleport or change zone, and stay exclusive on their area.
- They cannot be summoned, and you’ll have to go to some sort of “stable” to get one.
- They don’t give you an advantage in combat. Instead you’ll likely fall and get stunned if damaged enough while on it, plus the mount will run away and you’ll have to go the nearest “stable” to get another one.
- They require a lot of playtime and/or some sort of event to be unlocked to each area.
- Yet they still have some sort of speed advantage when running.
I’ve been seeing tons of people requesting Mounts every day on the Suggestions, on a game that has no need for them.
I firmly believe that these people don’t want Mount as much for travel (even though WvW would benefit greatly) as for looking cool, follow the lore, and stay true to the game’s own concept art.
All A-net has to do is think outside the box!
- I’m thinking of mounts here more like a tool for making some fun events that would require the use of them and give some more variety to the game with new traversing rules, instead of kill X, gather Y or protect Z with the same old controls. Similar to what A-net is attempting to do with guild-rushes.
- Also they can be some sort of reward for an area that it’s going well eventwise, and allow players to look cool at the same time. Give them the urge to hunt and do events to unlock different stables in each area and try specific mounts exclusive to that area that might have different limitations or control.
- Also Also, I see opportunities for puzzles like:
- …having some sort of secret area accessible only with certain Mounts that can be found on the other side of the map, and reaching that area will require to find the right route in the zone that that particular mount can traverse to get it to a destination, otherwise easy to reach on foot.
- …finding a puzzle area where you have to keep changing mounts with different abilities back and forth to do the different activities to reach the treasure.
- Also3, if players are running around the area in Mounts they can only get from certain locations on the map without teleporting, they have a much better chance of encountering events.
The truth is that people will always ask for mounts, and rather that explaining each time how pointless they are, all we have to do is benefit by implementing them in different ways.
In my case, that’s to take advantage of their nature of controlling differently to enrich the gameplay experience.

Hey everyone, just dropping in to let you know that we have identified the issue. A fix will be coming with one of the upcoming Living World releases.
The Permanent Hair contract. So many RPers crave it!
I think they should give us a lot of options to do 5 points, and not be able to do 17points. That’s all
