General

  • Fully customizable UI has been added, with scripting support for Ada, COBOL, and Fortran.
  • All fine and masterwork gear now comes in blister packs. Blister packs must be triple-clicked to open and have a chance to inflict bleeding.
  • All food items can now spoil. Spoilage rates are determined by the ingredients in the recipe.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from entering Super Adventure Box on live servers.
  • Due to the chaotic nature of magic, bloodstone dust no longer stacks.

World vs. World

  • Added the new Siege Reactivator trick, which reactivates siege equipment that has been disabled via the Siege Disabler trick.
  • Added the Super Siege Disabler trick, which prevents reactivation via the Siege Reactivator trick.

Structured Player vs. Player

  • Increased the size of all PvP badges while not in PvP.
  • Added retaliation to all target golems.

Fractals

  • In order to streamline the experience of Fractals of the Mists, every fractal has been replaced with Swampland.
  • Removed all terrain and environment assets from the Mossman encounter. Players will now engage the Mossman in a featureless, gray, circular room, and this is why we can’t have nice things.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed ascended boxes to drop from fractal daily chests.

Mystic Forge

  • Added toilet-flushing sound effect on use of the Mystic Forge.

Dungeons

  • All dungeons now penalize failure and have been darkened based on their difficulty. Dying in lighter dungeons will delete items or currency, but dying in the darkest ones will delete your character.

Profession Skills

Elementalist

  • Removed fire attunement.
  • Added dual keyboard support to better support proper elementalist key binding.

Dragonhunter

  • Now deals 50% bonus damage to dragons and their minions.
  • Aegis now ends after 5 attacks instead of 1 attack.

Scrapper

  • Now gains bonus items when salvaging.
  • Elixir X now uses a random skill from all skills, including monster skills.

Chronomancer

  • Fixed an exploit that allowed chronomancers to go back in time and kill their opponents in PvP before the match began.
  • Portal’s recharge has been removed, and the colors of the effects have been changed to blue and orange.

Necromancer

  • Death shroud can now only be activated from the downed state.
  • Scepter autoattacks now apply fear.

Revenant

  • Coalescence of Ruin: Increased damage, range, number of targets, and area of effect while in WvW.
  • Added a Kilroy Stonekin legend. All skills cause you to run at the closest enemy and scream “KILROY STONEKIN!”

Thief

  • Stealth no longer ends when you attack.
  • Steal now transfers ownership of a random weapon from your opponent to you.

Berserker

  • Fixed a bug that allowed warriors to get kills in Ranked PvP.
  • Hundred Blades: This skill’s number of attacks has been increased to 100 to properly match its name.

The item will not show the bat effect if you down or WP very much like a tonic

EDIT: sometimes it wont even show when entering combat.

EDIT: Every time you enter combat the bats go away….. this is very VERY frustrating for a 2000g crafted item

Sadly, ANET has a history of making things that should be fun into thinly-veiled, flavorless gold- and/or time-sinks.

When legendary crafting was first announced, it was talked about how the most frustrating part of obtaining a legendary weapon, was of course: The precursor.

https://youtu.be/gxLkfXwxLTs?t=34m49s

Now. This had me pretty excited, since throwing money at the TP was… Well, not fun. Now I finally completed the first collection for Zap. I got my pattern, learned it, and went to check and see what I needed to craft this item. It became immediately clear, that the cost of materials, was not going to be part of the world, but rather, the TP. I find myself at an impasse. Where moving forward requires me to do, what I had hoped I wouldn’t have to do.

I have two choices. To throw money at the TP. Or avoid crafting this precursor. I had expected, or I suppose hopped that moving through the collection would have me doing challenges, and working towards obtaining the item. Not just simply buying the materials off the TP. To make matters worse, the crafting items in question are ascended, which means: Time gating.

So I really just don’t understand it. I thought the idea behind the collection was to have players running around completing challenges to obtain this amazing item. Not throwing money at the TP, as if the collection just didn’t exist.

FotM Rewards fix

I am a big fan of making the once per account achievements for completing all fractals of a tier like 76-100 infinitely repeatable. That would always give motivation to complete every fractal level as well as a guaranteed way of obtaining fractal skins. In addition if someone does not need the skins, they can still sell the boxes at the trading post for a small profit.

50 s more for 100 lvl compared to lvl 1 ? What exactly does it fix? Noone want gold rewards in fractals, we want ascended drops. As a fractal player myself i rather prefer the ‘i won’t have to spend kittenload of gold for asc eq so i can run frac on alts’ type of profit.

I think you’re looking at this wrong. The wiki and things like Dulfy are tremendous resources that other games (that DO need such things) sorely lack. I’ve never played an MMO that spoon fed me on how to accomplish everything in game. Guild Wars 2 is definitely not going to teach you how to play very often. It’s a game that will require you to figure things out and if you can’t or need some help…that’s why there are resources to fall back on.

So, to answer your thought process…if you’re looking for a game that will go…

1) Grab spoon
2) Pick up spoon
3) Move spoon to food
4) Insert spoon into food
5) Move spoon from food to mouth
6) Insert spoon with food into mouth
7) Eat food. Don’t eat spoon.

…then perhaps Guild Wars 2 is not your game. /endsnark

Dear Colin, ignore feed backs on grind

TheFibrewire.6845

all the things in HOT is perfect.

you have created a world with full of secrets, heavy exploration challenging mobs, treasure chest and cool NPC with funny and awesome writing. and i dont want to mention how awesome the exalted carving writing is.

people complaining about masteries need nerf and need more XP is complete wrong, they will get used to it after one month and everything will settle down.

look at this

Anet never stated you have to play like this i know you devs intend players to explore, talk, socialize, create community and defeat awesome bosses.

but these players are spreading rumors saying this is the way Masteries has to be gained. your game has a policy of play how you like.

so please don’t take care of any suggestion given till now about the grind as this the situation and these players are spreading rumors and converting more players and ultimately whole community is burned out so for these players don’t nerf your awesome game.

the Expansion is awesome and perfect doesn’t require any changes.

so Colin i urge you to disregard these post on saying the game is grindy because its the mistake of players choosing it to make it grindy not the fault of devs and you never told we need all masteries on day one.

Colin for god sake dont nerf anything the game is perfect.

Doesn’t matter what the rate is when you take into account you need every single point in the old maps as well. That x9 is too much.

Except you don’t! There are enough hero challenges in the jungle you don’t need to do any in the core tyrian world – those simply speed you up on day one if you already got them.

Upcoming Global Change to Player Minions

Hey all,

As some of you may have seen in raids during the last BWE, we were trying out something new with player minions. Basically, in that final BWE, player minions did not take damage from boss attacks. We thought that made minion-based professions feel so much better in combat, but that change did expose some problems such as minions being able to withstand a damaging attack indefinitely.

We wanted minions to not die left and right, but we did want them to have some attrition instead of being completely immune to attacks. This problem is mainly prevalent in PvE as we have huge attacks all over the place that are meant to be dodged by players but unfortunately for minions, they can’t dodge.

After reviewing BWE results, we wanted to create a better system to accomplish this as a global change for minions. To do that, we made it so that unless a minion is specifically targeted by a creature, they will be dealt drastically reduced damage and condition duration from attacks. Currently, this is set to 95% reduction as we feel like it’s a good starting place, but we’ll continue to monitor and adjust it. This means if your minion gains agro from a creature it will still take full damage, but if there is area effect damage hitting your minion, instead of usually killing it instantly, it will slowly attrition it down.

We felt like minions were in a good place for PvP so we didn’t want to change them there for now. Thus, the interaction between players and minions in PvP combat will remain the same.

The change is for all player minions, this includes things like engineer turrets and ranger spirits as well. This will be in for HoT Launch in a few days.

[F2] button for Stolen Item skill usage

Hey all,
A heads up: we’re adding an F2 button for the items that you (thieves) steal from enemies.
With the way that stolen items exist, it’s not always the best option to use your stolen item instantly, but often you have to dump it in order to gain access to Steal again. As a quality-of-life change, you’ll now steal from an enemy and see the stolen item in the F2 slot, while F1 will show Steal and its current cooldown. If you steal again without using the stolen item, it will be replaced/overwritten by the new one.
We weren’t able to show this on the core specialization livestream, but wanted to pass the message on so that it’s not just a bomb drop when the core specialization changes happen (when they’re ready).

Cheers,
-Karl

What, you have a problem with that?

Charming Rogue — I’ll pass along the feedback. We’ve seen much-loved items make a comeback in the past, maybe that same decision will give your Elsa (who’s beautiful, btw) her Olaf in the future. All the best for Wintersday!
