Those that complain about ppl skipping trash mobs in dungeon obviously haven’t done enough dungeons to the point it becomes a grind and a chore. The only reason im doing dungeons is for the chest and tokens+ gold. And i will skip anything that is not worth my time because im so sick of grinding my kitten of dungeons so i can buy my armor and stuff.

if i can get 2-3g from doing all 3 paths of AC for 180 tokens in 1.5hrs max not including loot, would i rather spend 1 hrs for 1 path killing trash and everything hoping to get some rare stuff and 60 tokens? i doubt so because the freaking reward sucks! Time is money here, no one wants to “so call enjoy the dungeon because the design are so awesome” once you’ve done all dungeons for like 100 times.

Have you even tried doing Arah before u start complaining about ppl skipping trash? go and do it and tell me if you can do path 3 under 1hrs with all the trash mobs killing and stuff. If you enjoy killing trash and spend 2-3 hrs for path 3 Arah (for 69 tokens Max) be my guess but don’t expect everyone to have the time to waste killing useless stuff with sucky rewards.

So please before u guys post anything about ppl skipping trash mobs please go and do all the dungeons in game before you even start posting here. Some dungeons are meant to be farm for fast money, where else would u get money from? unless u like playing the TP like a trader.

As a market trader, I would love it if people refrained from giving “Tips” to line they pockets, as if you already don’t have a few thousand of the mat sitting around waiting till “people I want to help” start buying so you can sell it to em and get out of your losing market. Anytime I make a bad investment I take the loss I don’t make stupid post trying to manipulate people. If you were trying to help you would do what some people on here have already done and make a post about how to come up with items to invest in rather than tell everyone buy item “A” it will make u rich. Give a man a fish he eats for a day teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime.

I vote for A. The halloween event did it perfectly. Buy once for the set, then again for the rare.

If its account bound, we should be able to buy the chest like in Halloween. Account bound and random is a disaster. People end up with excess and people end up with none.

get yourself useful in a party. this means don’t wear magic find gear. it’s selfish and you’ll just be a baggage. use proper armor and just use magic find consumables, if you still insist.

Doesn’t matter. It is not affected by magic find.

Put on your robe and wizard hat.

Then grind for ascended.

Two changes:

Make ports to all towns free from anywhere, rather than people having to goof around loading into the mists/WvWvW to take a portal.

When porting within a zone, use the level scaling of the zone itself rather than the player to determine the costs. So it’ll still be expensive to port to queensdale from far away, but once there, porting from one place in QD to another would be very cheap.

You walk into a shop, and buy something, for the purpose of this thread let’s say you buy an Xbox.

The next day, or the next week, whatever, you walk past the same shop and see that they are now doing a 20% off sale, and/or that the Xbox is now being sold with an extra game as part of a special package.

Pray tell, what would happen if you walked into said shop and said something along the lines of

“Ohai, I bought an Xbox here yesterday/last week and I see you are now selling the same Xbox for 20% and with an extra game – any chance you can give me 20% back and give me the game?”

Let me tell you what would happen.

The manager or other member of staff would politely apologise and say that, because you bought the item before the sale, you were not entitled to 20% of your money back and the free game. Then, after you’d left the store, they’d go out back and say to their store colleagues “Guys, you would not believe what this idiot customer just…”.

Then they’d all laugh at you.

Understanding that this is how sales work in the real world, I cannot FOR THE LIFE OF ME, understand why so many of you are crying that you are not getting a wizard hat.

The most common ‘argument’, if you can even call it that, is that, we are here and have supported this game, thus, we should get the wizard hat, not some guy who buys the game in the sale.

When you really think about this, this line of thought is absolutely absurd and completely defeats the purpose of the sales pitch.

The whole point of this ‘promo’ is that it entices people who were maybe on the fence about buying the game, to actually buy it. It makes these people think

“Well, I was thinking about getting the game, might aswell buy it now seeing as I can get a limited edition unique hat.”

Let me tell you something, if Anet were to pitch the sale saying

“Buy the game now and get this free Wizard Hat that everybody in the game also has”, it would not be successful at all.

I can only conclude that this train of thought is a product of this obscene self-entitlement generation that currently plagues the Earth.

To think, for a second, that you are entitled to this Wizard Hat on the grounds that you have played this game for however many weeks… Anet doesn’t owe you anything.

You paid them the 60 bucks and they gave you the game you paid 60 bucks for, along with free content that costs thousands of dollars to develop.

It’s like you buying the Wii U on the day of release for full price and then get butt hurt when 3 month down the line they are selling them at reduced prices and with game bundles. You are not entitled to the cheaper Wii U and the free games, just because you bought it and have supported the console since launch.

TL;DR

Use some god kitten common sense. And get over yourselves.

i’ve lost count of the number of times i’ve seen 5 signet warriors in pug dungeon runs who faceplant every fight, either against trash mobs, or bosses. and when asked to link their gear, it’s always full zerkers.

if warrior players stopped sacrificing ALL their team utility for the sake of a larger cyber member, and started using more team oriented skills and utility stuff like swiftness/condition removal/stun breaks/stability, warriors would be more than viable. as it stands however, most warrior players are more concerned with their nice big numbers on the hero screen than actually being useful in fights.

every time i see a warrior in a pug dungeon run, i cringe a little inside, because i expect them to be useless. most of the time, they prove me right.

it doesn’t help that whenever new players ask what class they should play, people tell them to play a warrior.

it helps less when they ask how they should gear their warrior up, and everyone responds with ‘get full zerkers cos you know, damaj k?’.

and for best weapon? greatsword. cos 100b for you know, damaj k?

it helps even less when for some reason, as a main, the warrior class attracts the most number of players who are unwilling or unable to do anything more than toddle up to enemies and auto-attack.

what this means is that more than half the time, you get a glass cannon warrior with no range weapon switch whose only strategy is to walk up to things and hit them until either they die, or he dies.

it’s like a nut kicking contest. i’ll kick your nuts, and you’ll kick mine, and the guy who cannot get up loses. unfortunately, in areas like arah, mobs tend to have bigger nuts than you. and they also kick very hard.

this strategy is completely counter intuitive, but somehow still extremely prevalent.

what boggles my mind even further is why so many people still insist that glass cannon/5 signets is a viable build in dungeons because you can just ‘l2dodge’.

what bull.

you have only 2 dodge bars. sooner or later, (and trust me, it’s always sooner when it comes to zerker/signet warriors), you’re going to be out of dodges. and then you’ll be on the ground spamming ‘4’ because you can’t take more than 2 hits. and i’m not even talking about big telegraphed hits like kohler’s vacuum move. i’m talking about hits like lupicus’s untelegraphed normal projectile attack. or the spider mobs’ paralysis in ta.

my guild mate told me a once while we were pug running a dungeon with a signet warrior: ‘the sky is blue. ricky martin is gay, and the warrior is on the ground’.

inescapable facts of life.

it stopped being funny after the warrior went down for the 8th time (yes, i counted. he died twice to locusts in phase 1) in one single lupicus fight. he proceeded to die 2 more times in the final boss fight even though he wasn’t kiting.

what is especially strange is when one realizes that warriors have a skill called ‘shake it off’. it is honestly, one of the best, if not the best skill in the game. traited 20 sec condition removal/stun breaker shout? which removes 2 conditions with soldier runes? yes, please.

crippled? shake it off. got knocked down? shake it off. poisoned? shake it off. have girlfriend problems? shake it off. i mean, really, can you say no?

apparently many warriors can.

then come to the forums and whine that the warrior class is terrible.

I’m not sure why the suggestion that has already been brought up, which says to patch things up by simply giving a chest to everyone who has not received one in the mail yet, is getting shut down. From an unbiased viewpoint, I see that as the only fair solution.

Here is my breakdown of the issue:

Let’s consider the problem at hand logically. The devs who told you “The script was thoroughly tested and there is no way there could have been a mistake” clearly overlooked something in the code because we have had plenty of people bring up cases that suggest otherwise. There is no need for anyone to take blame for that though, because it’s software and bugs are bound to happen. However, the first step is to acknowledge that the script failed.

The cases of failures that occurred can be summed up into these categories:
1. Player participated in event but did not get a chest
2. Player participated in the event, got a chest, and then got another one
3. Player did not participate in the event and got a chest

Rather than trying to repair the damage which would take days and would be guaranteed to still leave some people unsatisfied, why not just implement a quick fix and let people move on? I can guarantee you that if you keep trying to patch the script up to find only the people who deserved a chest but did not receive one, you will only dig yourself into a deeper hole. This approach would most likely lead to more people who did not deserve the chest getting one, some people getting a second mailed chest, and definitely some people who participated in the event still not getting a chest.

Instead, I would like you to seriously consider the obvious solution that will satisfy everyone – just send a chest to everyone you have not sent one to yet. I know you aim to do what’s fair, but that is no longer an option since people who did not deserve chests received them. At this point, you need to focus on what will satisfy the player base. Please consider putting the customer first and bring this idea up to the team.

EDIT: I would like to add that I am not just talking out of my puppy. I have a phd in computer science and 5 years as a software engineer under my belt. Please take my advice when I say that you are solving the wrong problem. Send the people their chests, and let your devs work on game content and future events…
