What’s the difference between this system and just selling your items on the TP then buying them back later?
24 hours, >150,000 ectos, > 9500 unique sellers.
To the OP…
This game isn’t for you.
I was just reading a short thread about someone getting bored with the lack of gear grind.
I smiled a bit inside.
Not everyone has the composure to farm the same banal content over and over until they have the bestest best baubles and lord it over people. This game is for people that want to be on primarily equal footing.
Take myself for example. I’m a tried and true “medium-core” gamer. I love a nice complex system and a few long-term goals to work toward but especially difficult content or unfriendly people cripplingly frustrate me. I can’t stand dungeons due to the incessant number of overpowered damage dealing "whatever"s, I’d be WILLING to try fractals if the elitists weren’t hoarding all the parties, that sort of thing.
And it turns out I don’t have to do things that way, I can get my gear for the most part from other content to get in a better spot and THEN try some of that harder content again IF I choose.
I’m happy for that personally. This game IS for me.
Yeah, I’m saving for it. Who needs ascended gear? I just want to be able to make a dignified exit from keeps in WvW when they’re about to fall (the reindeer transformations already work surprisingly well for running past enemy zergs, but that might just be the culling effect
Lol. Then with the cat tonic, they should reduce falling damage to near 0 because you’ll always land on your feet!
Next up buttered toast backpack. if the proverbs are correct, you should find yourself hovering in mid air. continually spinning.
Currently, they are extraordinarily expensive weapon skins. If and when we see something better than “Exotic” weapons, Legendaries will be adjusted to match the stats of whatever is higher than Exotic (probably Ascended.) Since that hasn’t happened yet, both statements are true.

When you transmute two items you create a completely new item, which in your case does not fit into the recipe to create Eternity.
Which should be fixed, if someone makes both Sunrise and Twilight, and want to turn it into Eternity, they shouldn’t be denied it because they transmuted one of the items..
Sure, do it. I have nothing to lose.
“The 397 guy” :-D.
Conspiration theories are really getting out of hand about the TP.

Prior to game launch and post-launch discussion about GW2 PvP, a lot of people were upset (and rightfully so) of the exclusion of GvG at launch. I did enjoy GvG but my favorite GW1 PvP moments came from the Tomb of Primeval Kings later renamed and moved to Heroes’ Ascent when tentacles and what not kittened the tombs entrance. This was the name of a global tournament that put teams across all regions against each other continuously.
Reason I bring this up is because THAT’s how a tournament should feel like. Compared to the current free and paid tournament system, Heroes’ Ascent was a tournament system done right. You advanced through a cycle of maps ranging from annihilation, capture the relic, yes even conquest and to king of the hill. What was really cool was that Hall of Heroes (final map) had three different modes and kept it from getting stale.
The best part? You could prove your worth by defending your #1 spot and sit in Halls and fight on waves of challengers all climbing the tournament system provided your group was good enough. It also happened to be a 3 way map. You don’t have to leave until you finally get crushed! The reward chest for the winning teams were really rewarding AND your Guild/Group’s name was broadcasted throughout the game with the conclusion of each match. People that weren’t as deeply involved in the PvP scene still had an idea of the strong figures in the mist at times. And avid PvPers ate that up, everyone wants to dangle their huge kitten.
Before they patched it to be in relation to achievements, fighting for your region to be blessed with favor of the gods in the Hall of Heroes also gave reason and meaning to the fighting. Underworld and Fissure of Woe entrance being linked to a tournament taking in a mystical realm felt just right and also was a neat little way to bridge PvE and PvP.
There’s a lot I feel tPvP can take from Heroes’ Ascent, they’re both similar sorta in structure as far as tournaments go, elimination winner moves to next round. I know I’m not alone when I feel tPvP is seriously lacking. I understand that they didn’t want a huge barrier of entry to the competitive scene for GW2’s PvP. But I feel they went too far and on the flip side instead created a stale environment.
TLDR: Coming from GW1, I was really let down by the tournament system as far as a competitive mode goes when I had something as good as HA in GW1. It had the perfect recipe of incentive and rewards, interesting map/gameplay, and the opportunity to gain and spread reputation of your crew. It was ahead of its time and I haven’t had as good of a PvP in many games since.

Your Level 17, and join a group for 18 fractal? You get the lvl10-tier Daily reward.
You go on to follow as they do a level 20 fractal (You are now level 18) immediately after? You don’t get any reward. This is because YOUR reward level is still 18, despite set level is 20. Being an even Fractal, it checks to see if you can get your Daily reward after Jade Maw. As you are in the 10-tier Fractals reward range, you don’t get the Daily reward as you already gotten it earlier.
Now if this was the next day? You would get your 10-tier Daily reward.
(If thats wrong, then I got kittened out a daily reward before.)

You joined a team with “COF farm war zerk only gear check” or mostly something similar without reading carefully.
They aren’t elitist, you were just too lazy to read.
The deal is that my post on lfg.com was this exactly " lvl 80 war speed run path 1" end quote???? If this dungeon wasn’t so (well easy) i wouldn’t have bothered with this.
There’s a difference between “speed run” and “zerker only farm.”
You can “speed run” with any class or team as long as they know what they are doing.
Zerker war only farms require specific class and gear setup.
Well, that didn’t take long.
The community asked for this improvement to drops and ecto gain every day since launch, loudly, often offensively. Anet listened and responded. I sort of know what you mean, but I’d much prefer the way it now is. It’s a little unfair to the devs to start complaining too much about the very things they changed because the community asked them to.

I had 4000+ sitting in my bank that I was VERY happy to get rid of at 50-90c. Someone had bought up (not me) some months ago, about 50000 and spiked the price – in fact this has happened several times. In other words there is a LOT of supply out there but the actual demand is…rather low…20 or so required when leveling cooking.
And THAT is what people fail to factor in more than anything – what, when you remove the speculative element, is the demand for an item going to be?
Is the influence needed a bug aswell ?
Small guilds can never reach that amount unless it’s based on percentage of the guild members.
I had a kit already sitting around and I was really disappointed. I misread and thought it was new hair styles.

wouldn’t [full berzerker gear] increase the chance of dying ?
If you were going “blind” into a new dungeon? Yes. If you were going into Fractals, or something else with varied mechanics (e.g. enemies using heavy CC and AoE attacks)? Yes. Facing concentrated ranged firepower, as in Caudecus Manor? Yes. In a PvP fight? Yes.
Players understand the mechanics of CoF path 1 extremely well. They know that most of the mobs can be skipped, ignored, or leashed. The unskippable stuff (e.g. Slave Driver, Flame Legion Blademasters guarding the braziers, Searing Cauldron Effigy) can simply be killed very quickly because it does not dodge, evade, or punish (e.g. fireshield, retaliation). The all-zerk party might not fare well in a battle of attrition, but CoF P1 is amenable to blitzkrieg tactics and so that’s what they use.
All I know is they better add more laurels for other achievement points, add Ascended gear to WvW, and add them to Fractals soon or it’s going to be extremely annoying to ever gear up alts.

Because if they did, all the WvW kids would whine about having to do dungeons.
You have 5 people.
1 on each button.
1 protecting each person on the button.
1 on the door.
It’s a sad day when people complain that something is too hard because they have to do it legitimately now. Whatever happened to playing games for challenge instead of for mindless farming?
really bad engineer
Or consider a new strategy.
Uh no.
I don’t care about your profit margins. All I care about is if I get my gold asap, and that’s what I do when I undercut.

I’m fairly confident that my smallish guild could do the content of guild missions… if we actually had access to them. Hundreds of thousands of influence is extremely prohibitive.
CoF runs: 4g per hour on average and is the most efficient way to make gold by farming currently.
Dusk drop randomly: 650g
Your random lucky drop just saved you over 162 hours of pure farm grind compared to someone else. No risk, no investment, no addition skill or time required.
Yeah, that design is really conducive for fun…. for about .1% of the playerbase.
There should be a way to target yourself and see what you look like to other people. Reasons for this:
1. Vanity – I want to see how the “star” looks next to my name after map completion. I want to see the title being displayed. A huge reason I play MMOs is to progress and I like to admire my achievements. We did this all the time in GW1. What’s the point of getting your own star if you can’t even see it?
Also, I want to see the icon of how I look to other people in party chat.
2. Mesmers need to know whether they look any different from their clones. Right now I have to manually ask someone to check and see.
