What would be better is each having a variety of different phrases randomly spewed out.
Everyone is a part of the eternal alchemy ……. Even you.
My biggest annoyance honestly is my Mesmer “i can outrun a centaur” apparently every 5 secs …

Let’s play detective!
Alright! I’ll be Marjory!
Duhuhuh if you’re Marjory, you gotta let me give you a kiss!
…
Literally 5 seconds later
Let’s play dete~POW!! You shut your stupid mouth!
“The clock is ticking and Tyria is at risk. Hurry along now”
I think the only item a NPC patronised me to the point of almost being offended lol
Let’s think about why anet made this dialogue: to make the world seem more “alive”. Does looping dialogue work towards this goal? No. Pretty soon it does the opposite. It makes the world feel like it’s full of scripted animatronics. If the goal is a more life-like world, the dialogue needs to be more dynamic. Or less obviously looping. Greater spans of time between each repetition at the very least. Like others, I’ve also taken to playing without sound because the dialogue is ruining an otherwise immersive experience. And that’s a shame.
Now I miss all of the old Lion’s Arch chatter.
Honestly I miss old Lion’s Arch in general. I just feel like the old map had a lot more character or something then the new one… I liked it a lot more overall.
i liked when the city was destroyed and its people suffering…..because the mystic forge was right next to a crafting station AND THE CRAFTING STATION NEVER MADE NOISE WHEN YOU USED IT AS A BANK
That is so true.
I try to avoid Lion’s Arch like the plague now. It’s little more than a gentrified tourist trap with a few points of interest.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
thats why this thread exists so anet can change it FINALLY
Change what exactly?
There’s some dialogue you don’t like and some you apparently need. This is pretty much down to you to manage, if it’s such a major inconvenience to turn your sound up / down in-game, turn your speaker sound up / down or even off when you don’t need it. I usually play with my sound off all the time so I have no idea what important cues you think you are missing out on.
pve, raid, pvp, fractal, dungeon, world clearing, legendary questing.. Zapped!
I am not ashamed to admit that I like all of this sort of dialogue. It adds flavor to the game, even though some of it occurs all too frequently. All of you folks complaining just need to stop letting fear poison your hearts in this forsaken wasteland. grin
It annoys me more that my characters say stuff like “May Lyssa confound you” all the kitten time, I follow no gods and neither would my character.
Doesn’t this only happen though, if you have [Prayer to Lyssa] equipped?
But guys, what if there’s a golem uprising in Rata Sum, and someone turned off the sedition inhibitors? Then we’d all have to bow down to our new golem overlords.
Well, op..
Do you need something?
You got gold, right?
But seriously, don’t ask for less repetitive dialogue, or you’ll break the game.
And if you break it, I break you.
:D I properly loled right there.
The comedy factor of repetitive dialogue is worth keeping.
“I wonder if anything different will happen today.”
“Y’know what would be different? If you left me alone.”
Sure it would be nice if the NPCs didn’t just repeat the same lines they’ve been saying for the last 3.5 years, it would be nice if they had conversations like real people that weren’t always about the same old thing. It would be really awesome if the game engine could generate new and exciting conversations that were always relevant to the current situation. Until someone creates that AI maybe we could just have Anet hire some staff to sit in game and control the NPCs and talk for them. Wouldn’t that be fun? Maybe they would discuss your character’s outfit or something.
That reminds me of the outpost in Guild Wars 1, Tarnished Haven. The NPCs in that outpost call out the names of players in the outpost and make comments about them based on progess they’ve made on various Title Tracks. I bet it would be possible in this game, if they wanted to spend the time to put it in, to have NPCs scattered around to n different maps that can see and comment on titles or items that you own. The problem of course is the time and effort to program it and record voices for it, so not likely.
ANet may give it to you.

I want to see a joke mission where all of the enemies use Npc greetings as battlecries. Imagine somebody trying to kill you while shouting, “May the stars guide you!”
That is terrifying and hilarious at the same time.
I’m so sick of my mesmer shouting that she can run as fast as a centaur because I have Signet of Inspiration equipped that I have turned off in-game audio.
That and the sylvari in the Silverwastes who keeps talking about how “if Mordremoth can attack the Mother Tree in the Grove, then it can attack ANYWHERE.” Seriously, learn some new lines. When I’m at the merchant, that line is playing constantly.

So glad I can use the scribe station at the guild hall instead.
Right the scribe station…so I can stand there and listen to a Tengu repeatedly call me racist and moan about being back in the Dominion of Winds, and that loveless prick in the tavern talk about himself. -.-
“You think you are so different, you judge too much with your eyes alone.” NO I’M JUDGING WITH MY EARS AND IF I COULD, I’D BE HAVING A REAL BIG CHICKEN DINNER TONIGHT… COME HERE CHIRPY, THE COLONEL HAS A NEW JOB FOR YE!!!
Let’s not forget the new armour-demonstrating vigil soldiers around merchants in HOT, added in a recent update. Their talk caption icon looks identical to that of the merchants they stand near, and they sure like to talk about their fancy armour. I get it. They’re proud. But focus, people! It’s a war zone, not prom.
Seriously though, we need fewer npcs around merchants, not more.
“I greet you, like the sun greets the morning”
What the actual kitten does that even mean!?
Who cares? It’s fun to say to people in real life, then stand back and watch their reaction. I love the Kodan expressions.

Sweet, sweet silence.

CITIZENS!
Any time I wonder if the Queen held enough of us back to protect DR, if it comes to that, or get concerned that Mordremoth can attack anywhere, or realize that Marjory has to give me a kiss, I just remember CITIZENS! and life is copacetic once more.
Also, who remembers that super happy woman in DR? She finally got some soundproofing in her bedroom. I’ll take the guidance of stars over that any time

What I would like to see is the ability to set a custom folder where screenshots are saved. Currently screenshots are saved automatically on my desktop, which means that I have to manually move and rename every single screenshot I take, quite an annoying task.
I like this suggestion but until it is implemented, if it ever is, here’s how I do it and it really isn’t much of an imposition:
I keep a Games folder and in it among other things I have folders for screens from various games. Then in GW2Screens I have folders that are date labeled. Eg 2013Oct, HoTBWE1, etc. Every now and then … could be each month, could be 3 months, just so long as it’s before I fill up the default folder … I go to the default screens folder in Users, sort by date, and select everything from a particular month. Cut, Paste in the relevant folder in Games, done. That preserves the raw screens in date order in small sets of images, no need to rename since duplicate shot numbers won’t matter given the date sorting. Then if I have particular shots I want to process or just sort into character-or-event-specific folders, I can do so while still keeping the raw images in their full size.

Been away for a while but I saw the AURENE Back pack and insta bought it!
I’d still love to see an Aurene mini, Aurene hat and an Aurene glider (make it look like Aurene is carrying you in her claw/paw/hand/whatevers).
I see a lot of dislike for outfits on the forum and people saying they don’t buy and won’t wear. But when I’m in game I frequently see players wearing outfits. I’ll be in a group of people and look around and see, this person is wearing an outfit and that person is wearing an outfit. I also see how frequently new outfits arrive in the gem store and I know that businesses don’t keep on selling things unless they are making good money off them. I suspect that outfits are much more popular than people who dislike them think.
People who dislike them are often very vocal and post why. But people who like them, they don’t start threads saying they like outfits and they don’t post in threads that don’t like outfits because liking outfits is more passive and they don’t have the arguments about outfits.
ANet may give it to you.

No, no roll back.
I would not want to give up:
- Permanent and actual “autolooting” (as opposed to the manual ‘area-looting’ we had before).
- Gliding
- Elite specs & Revenant
- Ember Bay & Bloodstone Fen
- The changes to infusions and fractals.
- All the loot, unlocks, achievements, and other ‘progress’ I’ve made since.
- “Salvage all”
Allow at least one more step at closest zoom for close-up selfies/selcas.
- Underwear colour for human plx
