Confessor’s Stronghold bugged out on me today at the Justiciar Adrienne fight such that her shield could not be removed. If she had taken reduced damage instead of absolutely no damage, I could have just finished the mission. But I couldn’t, so I logged out. Life’s too short to fight with a game.
Encouraging players to log out is bad. Invulnerability encourages players to log out. So there should never be invulnerability in personal story.
I’d love to know what happened next in the story. I’d love to reward all the work that went into creating it. But I probably won’t. Because life’s too short to fight with a game.
I don’t get the complaint … there are tons of locations for any given kind of terminal you want. No one is every going to ‘troll’ you out of access to anything.
“Don’t get to use the item that you already went out of your way to go to? No problem, take even more of your game time, and possibly some $, to go to yet another location and hope that this one is available for use. Cause there’s nothing wrong with this behavior.”
Except that in the OP’s situation it was a World Boss Chest…
This is the only reason I haven’t made Nightfury. I wear the Noble outfit but Nightfury doesn’t show on Outfits. And even if I was to show my armour instead, it would be ruined without my current shoulder piece.
I’d prefer if they just changed all the shoulder/infusion/upgrade slot auras into toggled effects. Add a new slot on the Hero panel that lets you bind auras across all characters (people with multiple can then sell their excess), and allow auras to be toggled on each character.
Would like for the Personal Merchant Express item to not spawn an NPC rather work like the Personal Bank Access Express does, where it just opens the interface. Since it is only usable for you, no reason to display an npc to others if they can’t use it. And since they take 5 mins to despawn, unless you change maps, they are less useful than the single-use ones could be, as you could use those whenever you want to (and less useful than the bank one, which you can use whenever).
Likewise, if possible, I would like the same to be true for the Personal Trader Express. It may not be, but if it is, same goes for that.
More and more, lately, I’ve been running into “toys” sitting on top of Merchants, Bankers, Boss Treasure Chests, etc. Things such as the Pirate Canon, the Witches Cauldron, Boxes o’ Fun, and even food buffs. This is hi-lariously amusing for trolls, I guess, making it harder for people to access the NPC or reward. We even see our normally helpful Mesmers creating Portals on top of treasure chests, but at least that goes away quickly.
Of course, we can directly mouse-click on our target if it’s not completely buried under other player’s characters. This is not a life or death problem, and I can’t personally understand the mentality of the trolls. They must think that instead of rolling my eyes and breathing a gentle sigh of annoyance, that I am instead screaming at the top of my lungs, startling the neighbors and pulling out my hair.
Please, ANet, put a “buffer zone” around important NPCs and treasures that prevents players from depositing things directly on top of them. Don’t STOP them. Just move their toy (or buff or whatever) a short distance away where it doesn’t interfere.
Set a man on fire, and he’ll be warm the rest of his life.

the boston shirt example from that guy pretty much nailed it, why stuff should not come back (anything)
if they bring back anything then i want to them bring back everything, even historical stuff, like gem store items, tittles and achievements
I was one of the people who went to extremes to get Mad Memoires, even helping guildies get them with very low level toons. Really it’s now just the skin but I wouldn’t mind if they brought it back, providing people had to put a similar level of effort in.
As to the toymaker’s bag I tend to agree with Illconceived Was Na. I too spent a lot of time in GW1 and noted the collector’s items that I could never get. It was an item that was given to early people at Christmas. I think they might consider changing the design a bit and give a ‘new’ skin rather than the old one.
or a fully decked out Guild Hall complete with private rooms and beach parties… ahhh…
I actually like the hunting lodge in Queensdale. It’s surprisingly big inside and I like the idea that I can be in there and people are passing by all the time and they’ll never know. I’m not sure how many people even take the time to explore inside buildings.
Also the Grove generally, and especially the bamboo grove at the bottom, it was the first hidden area I found in the game. Although lately everytime I go there people are role-playing so I feel like I’m intruding if I come and sit in the middle of it.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
New spell visuals are direly needed. Lightning and fire appear very wispy and weak. There should be environmental effects like smog, cinders, charred grass, glowing lightning that darkens what immediately surrounds it’s blue glow and sparks, a sudden explosion upon impact that quickly vanishes like a spark. That kind of thing. Spell visuals are severely lacking whereas everything else looks beautiful.
I’ve always held that wanting skins tied to one off events to remain unobtainable is selfish- there’s a wide variety of reasons why people miss out on certain events over the lifetime of a game, and it stikes me as being incredibly petty to want to withhold things from them for what was, in some case, personal misfortune.
That being said, I do agree that any re-released skins should have similar time/effort requirements as the originals. I find that the journey is usually the best part of it, anyway.

“Would you guys be interested in playing an brand new Action PVP game from A-NET ?”
No. I’d prefer they spend their dev hours and the money we spent on expansion/gemstore items making content for this game.
ANet may give it to you.
Of course they should bring it back, Some people need to stop being so self-centred.
Was I upset when they gave Mr Sparkles which I had to go and get a real life code for to everyone who spent money on the gem store, No because I am not shallow like that.
I’m not being self-centered when I ask for skins to be limited to those around at a certain time & place. In particular, I enjoyed that feature of GW1 even though the skins I wanted remained unavailable to me while GW1 kept the skins specific to each year’s festivals.
It’s about enjoying the idea that I can see who was playing at certain times. To me, it’s similar to wearing a T-Shirt from running the Boston Marathon 2010: if you ran it, you should have the shirt; if you didn’t (or at least aren’t shacking up with someone who did), you should not. At least, not in my opinion.
Some people like all skins to be available to everyone, including, of course, completionists, who want all the skins. It’s a different point of view, not any better or worse than wanting some things to be limited.
tl;dr try not to presume the motivation of people who disagree; it’s enough to simply offer your own opinion.
They actually did fix this for a while. Something in one of this year’s patches reverted us to losing party chat from and for anyone no longer in the party.
This really does need fixing again. It’s very jarring to lose hunks of conversation in an instant, can wreck RP scene coordination, and allows for abusive chatters to skedaddle before anyone can save screens as proof.
Can we get an Icon on our minimap that shows us where and how far away our first portal is placed? I can’t count how many times i’ve used it and it just doesn’t work. Or maybe gray out the icon button if we are out of range? Thanks <3

Maybe it can be attacked by the Charr and then they can have a large seafood dinner. Then it can be rebuilt as an Asuran island getaway! But seriously nuke the Karka.. annoying little ….
There is no reason to remove this map. The OP may not like it and may believe that other also dislike it but that’s hardly a compelling reason to remove anything.
Pretty sure the Consortium are part of the recent Current Events.
I don’t think we should keep any map in the game just for the sake of ‘lore’. If the gameplay is bad, then fix it or take it out and put in something that’s worth the maintenance costs, for devs and players.
Southsun remains one of my favorite maps — there’s just enough stuff to do to keep it interesting, the pre-events are fun (mostly, without the zerg), and the Karka are awesome practice subjects for new builds, group or solo. I’m sorry that the OP doesn’t like it, but that’s not reason enough to drop it.
tl;dr the OP hasn’t established a strong-enough reason for removal, which makes further discussion moot, in my opinion.
by white do you mean, pale-white or caucasian?
Because there’s already a pale-grey thats pretty close to white-white, just not to humanpink-white.. but why would you want an asura humanskinned?
There are various tones in the Character Creator that look fairly “pale”. Some of the greys and greens work well for that.
What Asura don’t have are completely dark faces. I wanted to make a pitch black Stitch, but his face always ended being kinda “light coffee”. Hes beautiful anyway.
Also, why all the Sylvari skin tones have lips in a complementary color? It’s awful. It ok if some of them have that combination, but WHY ALL?
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

If you use an extraction tool, you can salvage the glow and re-sell it. If you’re not too attached to the trinket it’s in, you can use a BLC salvage charge on it.
Assuming you’re not trolling — which is a kittenumption — you could simply replace it with this:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Exquisite_Charged_Quartz_Jewel
You have a very very expensive charged quartz jewel if you weren’t in it for the glow.
This one might be asking a lot, but asking is free.
Please add skinable models for all the trinkets (rings, accessories, and amulets). This would be a huge step towards letting us customize our avatars.
Some ascended accessories are labeled earring and are also unique so you cannot have a matching pair unless you can apply the skin to something else.
My sylvari mesmer is a member of the Priory and has items that reflect both of those affiliations, but the stats are not necessarily the ones I would have chosen otherwise.
I’d love to see a book dangling from a chain on my belt for instance for the Sieren’s Field Journal: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magister's_Field_Journal
Arise my pretty minion!
They should not add old skins, one time skins or especial seasonal skins at all, it is just going to start an uphill of threads asking for more, if they add just ONE then add everysingle one back even the historical in BLC
Just as an FYI…if you had either Mad Memories skins, and lost them before the wardrobe implementation…often times Customer Support can return those to you. I have read threads before where people asked about it, and several replies posted stating to open a ticket, and if they can verify you got it, they mail it back to you to unlock in your wardrobe.
I’m not sure if they can do the same for Toymaker’s Bag…but I would think if it can be verified, they would do the same for that one as well.
I can because I want to
I want to because you said I couldn’t
