I’m not going to answer the poll because I’d have to use my Google account, which is under my real name.
But I’m in the “I’m planning to raid someday” category and have been since raids were announced. I like the idea but it seems to be quite a time commitment. Even my guilds casual, training runs require you to commit to raiding at a specific time on the same day each week which just isn’t possible for me.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I think i explained this all well enough several times.
It seems to me that you have missed the point much more significantly:
daze (4s) + stun (3s) + knockback (2s) == 4s wall time spent under CC.
timeline:
1s: lying on the ground, can’t do anything
2s: get up, because knockback wears off, but still stunned and dazed
3s: can move, because stun wears off, but still dazed
4s: can act again, because daze wears off
compare to “CC breaks other CC”:
1s: lying on the ground, can’t do anything, dazed, stunned, and knockbacked
2s: get up, and can act again, because knockback overwrite stunned and dazed
also, compare to the unreasonable thing nobody is asking for, “CC stacks”:
1s: lying on the ground, can’t do anything, dazed, stunned, and knocked back
2s: stand up, now stunned takes effect
5s: stun wears off, so you can move, but daze takes effect
9s: daze finally wears off, but you quit the game already
The last one is unreasonable. Stacking durations or extending them isn’t the right thing to do, and I don’t think anyone disagrees.
What we do disagree with is this sequence:
1. apply daze 4s
2. apply stun 1s, which removes daze 4s totally
3. total time under CC: one second, due to the stun overwriting the daze.
Please allow the stacking of the strawberry ghost effect. The spectral look is awesome but having to constantly consume the food every 5 min just to get the effect is not very user friendly.
Or make it a 30 min effect.
I’m starting to think I’m the only person that genuinely doesn’t care if Raids get an easy mode or not.
But pertaining to your topic, this is not at all relevant to raids. They offer achievements, titles, exclusive skins, exclusive minis, the only way to get leg armor, and you have to beat at least 1 raid boss to finish your masteries and start earning spirit shards in HoT maps again. So just getting ascended armor is not the only reason to do raids.
Just so you know (because you don’t seem to understand the difference), “I don’t need an easy raid mode” is not the same as “raids don’t need an easy mode”.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
Helseth has a video on his youtube channel. But basically it’s a long winded way of saying “make sure you can reach every single key you need without moving your hand out of place.” You can’t do fast combos if you need to move your hand.
Don’t forget you can use key combos as well, for example “shift-R” or etc.
If you want easier encounters than VG, you should look at
Wing 2 second encounter: Trio
Wing 3 first encounter: Escort
Wing 4 second encounter: Mursaat Overseer
These three are by far the easiest raid encounters.
VG is a boss of typical difficulty for raids. Most bosses you see will be of similar difficulty to VG. So if your group can kill VG, you should be able to do most bosses with practice as well. The only more challenging ones are the last bosses for all 4 wings.

is it possible to have two shortcuts to the same game? and save different login credentials in them. It would save me some hassle if someone knows if this is possible. I’m not looking to multibox or anything, I’ll just be playing one acount at a time, but it’ll save me time from typing login credentials everytime.
Absolutely. Simply create as many shortcuts as you wish. Each one is a separate “document” of sorts, which points to the thing that is run.

I don’t know. But you can check up on them and see if they’re blowing smoke or if they’re really getting that many AP each day.
1) Friend them
2) Go to the Leaderboards
https://leaderboards.guildwars2.com/en/na/achievements
3) login, select friends
4) make note of their AP and see if it goes up each day by the amount they claim.
(The Leaderboard may lag by a few hours before it updates).
ANet may give it to you.
I do not hate them and I think some people are over reacting now. And I think after they served their sentence (the ban) they should get a 2nd chance.
I don’t hate them. That’s such a strong word, especially for 2 kids I don’t even know. I simply have no respect for what transpired, and zero sympathy for their plight.
I was just reading that thread over on Reddit, and a post in the ‘Suck At Love’ thread by a user named ‘darthyoshiboy’ really caught my attention. I wanted to come share over here. I hope he doesn’t mind. I thought it something very thought provoking and well written.

There is plenty of reason to disbelieve, and it’s simply in how this has been handled. At no point have they handled this like sane people who are wrongly accused would handle it, nor have they proven themselves to be reliable conveyors of facts. Consider the following:
- They went on the offensive immediately when no sane innocent person in this scenario would do this, only someone with nothing to lose who knows they have been caught is going to act in this manner. Let alone continue to keep attempting to minimize responsibility when they’re caught up in the truth and have obviously kittened up.
- They pulled their video immediately when Anet posted the rebuttal, without apology or explanation. Again, an action where it is highly questionable if you’re going to try to claim that a sane or innocent party would act likewise. This was the time to fess up to being grievously wrong then create (and link to in the original video description) a new video apologizing for what has happened. Throw a HUGE caption over the original video urging people to go see the new apology video. Then start working with Anet to get the supposedly innocent account freed from suspension.
- They have been very deceitful throughout these events. It started right from the get go with their blatantly obvious attempt to blackmail Anet into restoring their accounts by withholding what they thought was a valued commodity. Why else go on and on claiming you have so much content that Anet have forced your hand into not releasing. Why publicly state that you’re not coming back to the community under any circumstances? Why continue to interact with the community that you have supposedly and without conditions forsaken? It’s all a very deceitful attempt to leverage control of a message that they know they’ve lost the reins on as best as they can with the limited tools available to them (their popularity.)
- They continue to claim that they had exhausted all means of dealing with Anet privately (" They completely ignored us "), while the known facts don’t support that possibility. They had their video up within a few hours of the bans starting, an action that could never have allowed for Anet support to get them a single response, let alone exhausting all avenues.
- Even still in this “not an apology, apology” they continue to attempt to control the message by claiming that A) Bro’s offense wasn’t really ‘that bad’, it was just that once and he just feels so gosh darn bad about it
Sis is a victim and should bear no responsibility for the kittenstorm they attempted (and nearly succeeded) to create for ArenaNet. This “apology” is littered with caveats, one of which being that we should expect Sis to take no responsibility for what they attempted to get away with up there in the first point. That’s just ridiculous. You don’t get a free pass to unapologetically attempt to incite a pitchfork mob just because your co-conspirator conveniently didn’t remember all the facts until the bluff was called. Even if he was actually that forgetful and Sis had no idea about the transgression, you still need to apologize when your first action was to go on the attack and not to attempt to get this sorted in the normal channels.
In all, there has been nothing even approaching an act of contrition. They continue to demand that we treat it as if it was some sort of accident that this all happened to them. It wasn’t cheating when Bro used a map hack - just a small mistake, Sis wasn’t responsible for anything that has transpired here, they continue to heap mud on ArenaNet’s name for not just letting Sis have her account back without displaying even the smallest amount of interest in working through the normal channels that exist for this process which they have brought upon themselves (probably because they will only further lose the limited leverage they have on the message now in doing so), and they keep trying to maximize the perception of harms against them by attempting to sell us on this idea that they’ve been banned when in reality they’ve recieved suspensions that will eventually allow them to rejoin the game… Were it not for the fact that they’re absolutely never coming back because Anet is literally worse than kitten or some other reason?
Most kitten ingly, they continue to publicly run a campaign that seeks to minimize their responsibility while maximizing Anet’s for everything that has happened here while doing nothing to right the wrongs that they created rather than privately resolving the self inflicted supposed wrongs that were committed against them (that it is well within their power to address) if indeed there is an innocent party here that is not Anet.
Even if we are going to give them a HUGE benefit of doubt and assume that they did everything with only the best of intentions (and how could you?) They haven’t once even attempted to apologize for the way that they handled this by going straight on to attacking Anet.
I think we would all be happy to be charitable to Zack and Stacy if they weren’t handling every aspect of this in a way that only serves to incriminate rather than absolve them for what is going on. They’re either very immature and need to learn the lessons on offer here or they’re as guilty as they’ve been making themselves out to be and we really owe them no favors so long as they want to keep engaging on the matter.
All of that said, people telling them to go kill themselves are severely out of line. SuckatLove are on the hook for a lot of kitten that they willingly kicked up, but that doesn’t justify being the absolute worst human being that the anonymity of the Internet will allow you to be to someone else who is after all is said and done another human being.

I think the point is that any personal discomfort one feels on seeing the mini is a result of the narrative one is applying to it rather than an intrinsic element of the mini itself.
The question I’m curious about is, are you capable of removing the “ick feeling” for yourself by making a conscious decision to alter the narrative you’re projecting onto it? Now that equally valid alternative narratives have been presented I mean. (Fair do’s to you if you can btw, it’s not an easy thing to do)
Try exiting the game completely, and then logging back in. Sometimes that can “fix” the display error.
Edit: Looks like this is a bug affecting several people. According to this thread, most of them just had to wait a few minutes for things to appear back to normal again. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Missing-Gems-5/first#post6533754
But, skill 1’s don’t do 3-5k per sec.
To get to even the measly 3k you cited, your power would have to be in the 10k range.
No buffs, no food, no 25 vuln on the golem. Just fire auto attack. With only 2797 power.Add buffs and you double that number, which will translate into over 4k dps form just auto attacking.
Are you sure you use the right gear for your testing?

Don’t know. Maybe it has to do with your Charr’s fur color. Maybe a white Charr would look different. This video clip has a brown Charr with white areas and the white areas don’t turn blue.
ANet may give it to you.
The problem is if they change the first birthday gift (or any of the existing ones) everyone who has already had it and would prefer the improved version will complain.
Making a new character and waiting a year is a lot just to get the gift, especially if you’ve already used all your character slots and have to either buy a new one or delete an existing character to do it.
But unless you’re constantly creating new permanent characters it’s not likely to be a reoccurring problem and they have improved things with the later birthday gifts by including things you can use multiple copies of.
(Whether they’re things you want to use is another question, but that will vary between people – I can always use XP scrolls but I’ve used maybe 3 Teleport to Friends in total, whereas one of my friends can never get enough Teleports and actually put all the XP scrolls on one character and deleted him to get rid of them -we both wished we could trade them.)

idk, the leather farm did nothing and isn’t very good. Think I’ll spend today farming and see what can be done about leather.
This is not true, the leather farm works great, the problem is ppl still want things handed to them, and don’t want to put any effort into farming themselves, they want Anet to step in and nerf it.
Price of T6 leather sections since farm released…..
Nice cherry picking of the graph. Here’s a better one.
Fear grips casual hoarders who sell to speculators. “Word” spreads that the farm is “too hard” and “isn’t worth it” so prices slowly recover back to where they were after a few weeks. Speculators win!
And when you look at the graph, the result is still the same. The price is now higher than before the leather farm came. It’s marginal, but it’s there. What does that tell you?
Look at the full graph over time and don’t just cherry pick two points in time. Where it sits at now is the normal level when there isn’t as many players playing. Notice how there’s always a sharp decrease in price with each living story episode? There was also the speculation that the leather farm would dramatically increase supply that drove prices down a bit.
I think you’re worrying about something that’s never going to happen.
They finished introducing ascended equipment in September 2013, when ascended weapons were added (and that was almost a year after they started, with rings in November 2012).
That was 3 and a half years ago and since then they’ve finished Season 1 of the Living Story, had a series of festivals, had Season 2 and started Season 3 and released an expansion.
If they were going to add a new tier of equipment I think they would have done it before now. But they haven’t even increased the level cap (which they could have done without adding new gear), instead they aimed for ‘horizontal’ progression in the form of new specialisations, masteries (which are highly situational) and of course new skins and stat combinations.
Edit: But also a new tier wouldn’t necessarily have to be harder to obtain. Exotics are arguably easier to obtain than rares because they’re available in so many more places. Rares are drops, if you’re lucky, or crafted (more expensive than masterwork but less than exotic) and of course can be purchased with gold. Exotics can be obtained in all of those ways but are also bought with karma, WvW badges, dungeon tokens and other currencies with relatively few other uses and come from achievements and things. They could add a new tier and make it as widely available as exotics, so players have a lot of choices in how to get it and it’s reasonably affordable.
Ascended was intentionally made harder to get because, believe it or not, that is what players were asking for. There is a significant chunk of players who breezed through the levelling process in a couple of months, got a full set of exotics and then found themselves asking “what now?” they asked, and asked and asked (and in some cases demanded) for Anet to add new tiers, claiming the game would die without it and there was no motivation to play and all the things people usually say when they want something added to a game.
So Anet responded by adding Fractals – a self-contained dungeon they could grind to their hearts content and rare, hard to obtain equipment for them to get from it. They dragged out the release: at first only rings were available, then they gradually added pieces. And it actually seems to have done the trick.
I’m sure some people did get frustrated and went back to games where they could watch their “gear score” constantly going up so the game will permit them to play new content. But a lot of people do seem to have stayed.
(And the funny thing is they then went and made ascended easier to obtain by introducing crafting and ways to buy it from vendors. Under the original system I’d never have gotten any ascended equipment I could use, as it is I’ve got nearly a full set without feeling like I had to put myself out to get it – crafting the chest and trousers was expensive but I wanted the skin so it was worth it to me.)

This thread serves no purpose other than giving a place for people to speak rather than converse. The number of separate topics in here makes it impossible for people, including devs, do wade through.
Better idea: Go to the subforums for the professions and express the changes that you would like, and please ensure you give a reason for why a change is needed. This way a focused discussion can occur, and ideas can be expressed, expanded, and reviewed far more easily. A refresher on how to give good feedback is advisable.
You’ll notice that Anet has been approaching balance patches by focusing on certain professions at a time, and explaining the direction they’re trying to take each profession. If this is their process, it’s best to communicate in kind.
Edit: Realized the wrong connotation was probably coming through.

They always cycle the armour sets in the gem store. Every few months the ones that are on sale are removed and different ones replace them. So it will come back at some point.
They never tell us more than a week or so in advance though, so you’re not going to get someone from Anet coming here and saying “Yes, it will next be available on Tuesday the 9th May” or whatever.

LW3E4 — Farm those centaur! After about 15 minutes I had about 20 hardened plus lots of other leather.
This is exactly what I’m doing.
Forum “experts” say the new leather farm is a bust, but I’ve joined several farm trains, and I’m getting what I need for crafting and having fun smacking centaurs doing it.
I’m curious about this too. I had also been hearing the farm isn’t good, but I joined a farm squad to hit the POI I needed up there. I didn’t even go for the leather, but in the few minutes (5 maybe) I was with the group I got 6 pieces of leather.
I think the “experts” are basing this off two things:
First, the price of leather on the trading post didn’t move much the moment of release. IMO, this is to be expected: high prices mean lots of pent up demand, where people farm leather, then use it to make those things they really wanted but couldn’t afford before.
As that demand is gradually consumed we will see more leather being farmed and sold, which will gradually lower the price to the point that people are no longer motivated to spend the time and effort to farm it.
Second, they looked at the drop rates for T5 vs T6 leather in the farm, and concluded that it was broken because it returned significantly more T5. IMO, this neglects that this is the same as any other farm (eg: wood, much more T5 than T6), and that the leather farm model means you can’t skip the T5 “nodes” on your way to collect only T6, where you can with other resources.
The returns do also more closely model the actual demand when crafting, in terms of T5 vs T6 volumes, than I think many people acknowledge when they are narrowly focused only on “things that are very expensive right now”, mostly T6 only crafts.
Iirc, ‘The Real Raiders of Tyria’ was added because there was an exploit way to get ‘Greeted as Liberators’ with little to no effort. Since the title couldn’t be removed outright, because some earned it legitimatly, they added the new one.
So you’ll have to do them all again to complete The Real Raiders of Tyria.
You do have to walk/run out the shimmery portal. There are invisible walls everywhere else. But there’s no loading screen. You can run in and out through that gateway at will, so long as you have the pass.
I think it’s the best of the Pass areas in terms of layout and convenience, but it does suffer from two things: One, it has no activity NPC so you still must go to LA to do that (outside of festivals) for dailies. Two, during Wintersday it loses an NPC, the makeover preview one, as it reverts to an older version of the Terrace.
I have the story all done (for all four zones). I want to get BACK to them, and specifically Ember Bay, with a character who has already been there.
I want to do some of the achievements and map the zones completely. And, I don’t want to have to spend more real-world money to do it.
If the character has already been there, just waypoint back to the map. Or am I missing something here?
How does any of this have anything to do with not being able to chase/kill the person who is tapping your keep? Even if you killed the person every single time they tapped, if the player is dedicated to tapping your keep, they can respawn and run back in time to tap the keep again – and die again.
This is a non-issue, contesting a keep to prevent waypoint usage is a valid tactic that has been around for years. The fact that it inconveniences you since you have to run slightly further to get to your destination – means that this tactic is working.
