you are the weakest link. goodbye! ?
Going by the descriptions, I didnt even need to read that OP mains thief/dd.
Because every class except mine is always super OP even though I am super awesome and everyone I meet is a noob and suck, so their classes have to be OP by definition and carry them.
Let’s call them Fenemies
Removing servers does not fix the problem of people bandwagonning between servers. It just reduces the number they can go to.
I also disagree with your premise that pairing has failed.
So a lot of people have been having trouble with the new bloomhunger and I wanted to give a little advice that my group figured out when we did it last night.
- First of all, there is currently a bug where you can pick up the wisps early around 25%, and if you pick them up before he actually phases then you will not be able to deliver it. Be sure to wait until he actually phases before picking up a wisp.
- The key to this fight is well-timed dodges. He has a lot of attacks that need to be dodged or you’ll really be hurting. This can be hard in T4 because of the reduced endurance, but if you are in the green circle, you get a buff that increases your endurance regeneration by 100%. Make sure you spend as much time in the circle as possible so you have enough dodges. Also, it is possible to sidestep his charge when he does it from far away. Learning what attacks need dodges and which don’t can be very helpful.
- If you can, bring ranged breaks. Most of his attacks have a breakbar that will make the attack end early. This is especially useful for the endless pounding thing, as ending that early can save a downed ally from going defeated. Don’t try to use melee breaks as it is not worth it to risk death. Basilisk venom on thief would be very useful, or flesh golem or various ranger pets.
- If someone goes down, don’t kill yourself trying to res them. If you can pull them to you that’s great, frequently it’s better to let them fully die and then send one person without aggro to res them slowly. Don’t phase him unless everyone is up and healthy.
- Bring some sort of low cooldown stunbreak. Inevitably you’re going to miss a dodge and get knocked down. When this happens you need to be able to get out of there before his next attack.
- Kill all adds and poison blooms before focusing on bloomhunger. You want to reduce the amount of pressure for each phase. If the champ oakheart is up when you’re running wisps, you’re going to have a bad time.
- Assign wisps beforehand. In my group we all put our personal waypoints by the wisp we were going to take (I think it’s alt-click on the map). Then at 26% we spread out and let conditions and our 5th tick him over. Like I said earlier, don’t pick up the wisp early.
- After you get past 25% just don’t take any risks. The entire middle section is green, but his attacks are just as dangerous.
- It might be a good idea to put thought into your party comp. Having a druid for heals and search and rescue can be invaluable. Necros can pull downed out of aoe and are very tanky. Thieves have basilisk venom for ranged breaks. Mesmers can distort teammates through dangerous attacks. I plan on gearing out my chrono and testing out which attacks can be distorted through. Maybe we can distort the 25% blast when we miss wisps.
- Lastly, just try to be patient and practice. You can do it. Remember a year ago when we were constantly complaining about the lack of ‘challenging group content’. This is it.

I don’t know how to embed things, so… here’s a link instead (link leads to Bloomhunger defeat video):
https://youtu.be/mX-jDCO3YeA
Today, I beat the Swampland fractal with a pug group. Overall, I think the health is a bit too high. The mechanics aren’t… too bad. The constant knockdown, however, makes me cry. Angry tree reminds me way too much of the angry Lyssa gorillas. Those… terrifying…angry…purply-pink killing machines…
It took from Bloomhunger start to Bloomhunger finish – 15 minutes. HOWEVER! That was after 2 wipes (one of which happened at 25%, the other at 35-ish %) To this learning fractal probably took about 40ish minutes? give or take
Right now, potions are essential. I don’t mind this. Most upper level fractals require my little zerker self to have potions. Gawd that angry tree hurts.
What I didn’t particularly like is that it forced me to bring a weird set of utilities just so I could help keep my team alive, and keep myself alive, too. Graaanted… my team was four necros and me… and they did an amaaazing job at keeping everything else dead, while I just piddly-healed everything I could. I warned them, going in, that bloom needed to move, so they had to drop their minion master build (their choice, not mine!). I, too, had to keep my pet on passive because Bloom goes for it.
It’s the same sort of problem we had with the dredge (plus a ton of other nasty additives, heh). Too much health, and the dredge boss focuses spirits, minions, pets, and likely clones (didn’t have a mesmer, cannot confirm). This forces me, as a ranger, to lose half of my damage (if not more than half my damage) which would otherwise be given by my pet (of course, staying in staff and celestial instead of going to longbow also takes off my damage… but living teammates are better than damage!). It also forces me to constantly keep an eye on my pet while trying to keep on eye on my poor zerker/viper buddies around me. (f2 puts silly little passive pet into combat)
Honestly? I like the fight. I’d like it more if my pet didn’t have to be on passive. I’d like it a lil’ more if AngryTree didn’t have so much hp. I’d also like it a little more if I had someone to give me stability. I chose not to have that elite in order to synergize the healing a bit more… but I’m still not sure my elite would have been enough. It is, however, true that Bloom’s attacks are easily dodged, or moved away from (that’s proved in the vid, too).
It does kinda suck if you’ve already used your breakstun, and he knocks your butt down again. EVERYthing he does, I feel, is a knockdown. It’s really, really hard to bring forever stunbreaks… and my ally stunbreak is a ridiculously tiny circle compared to Bloom’s aoe knockdown circle.
Anyhoo! Enjoy the video. I do like the improved fractal, and I’ll like it more in the future, I’m sure. A few tweaks to make it slightly shorter would be good.
*TL;DR: *
Reduce AngryTree’s hp
Bring a stability happy friend
Bring a breakstun friend
Please tell Bloom that pets, spirits, clones, and minions are on his side, and to focus on the players.
Oh, and Mossman is an afterthought now ;-)
That amulet is ascended. You can’t put jewels in ascended and as of the Tuesday patch the only thing you can put in ascended amulets is enrichments.
So basically i am SOL on this and the only infusions i seen are those overpriced ones. Well thank you for the response.
The ascended amulets have always had the jewel stats pre-build into them. Those numbers used to be displayed separately but were merged into the base stats in a past update to make the UI neater. And as of the newest patch, those infusions you mention can’t be placed on amulets. The only upgrades available for amulets are the +exp/karma/gold/MF ones.
The devs are looking into difficulty settings and it’s going to be ok peeps.
You seem to have gotten your wish. Go play the new map and play loot pinata with “Definitely Not Vale Guardian”. You can even get “Definitely not Raid Rewards”.
This is the best thing the devs could have done. Now can we lock topic ?
Lmao. I was thinking the same thing when I did the event chain.
I now have a useless infusion that used to be in my amulet and my amulet needs a new infusion of some sort. The new infusion vendor converter thing is beyond confusing. Not sure why this stuff needed changing tbh.
The reason why you think it didn’t need changing is because you probably don’t do high level fractals and you’ve never had to explain to new players how to get their infusions up to the required level. The old system was an absolute mess.
People would get infusions from fractals but they couldn’t use them in defensive or offensive infusion slots. They could only use them in infusion slots, which didn’t exist on low level ascended rings, or on amulets, backpacks, or earrings for that matter.
Having infusions you got every day that couldn’t be used on any slot except a slot you didn’t have and wouldn’t get for some time was terribly confusing.
It absolutely needed to be changed, and probably should have been changed with earlier Fractal changes.
It was a very confusing, badly designed system.
Yeah, it’s an odd offer given the fact that most of us have an over supply of XP tomes
And yet, magically, newer players are not drowning in tomes like older players are. Not every package has to cater exclusively to veteran players, most of whom already have extra character slots in the first place. This one was clearly aimed at newer players
If you are already using the SMS via your phone there isn’t really a need to install an app unless you don’t want to use the SMS version for some reason. I’m pretty sure you can not use them both at the same time.
Other than that the best thing you can do is make sure the email address associated with your account is also secure, make sure you use a strong unique password for your account, be very cautious of any emails or in game message you may receive asking for account information (phishing) as Anet will never send a message out of no where asking you to provide account information, and never allow anyone else (even friends or family) to access your account. Concerning the later, if you live in a home with others that may be tempted to jump on your account make sure you always log out when leaving your computer unattended. I have seen many posts around here about the “evil little brother” that deleted someone’s characters and stuff.
Maybe some others here have more tips on maximizing account security but what I posted is the advice I know of.

Have done it twice now, and unless there’s an invisible cup of water I should be aiming for a la Bugs Bunny, the achievement is bugged ‘cause I still don’t have it.
follow the floating purple circles all the way down, eventually a portal will open; Go through the portal to get the achievement.
… and now you can just buy them if you have HoT
If you have the Follows Advice Mastery, INFUZ-5959 will sell you Vials, Globs, and Shards of Condensed Mist Essence, as well as Agonized Essences and Infusion Extraction Devices.
I can’t explain the joy I felt last night when I got an endless fractal tonic from a T4 fractal XD
This emotion cannot be experienced by grinding, collection-hunting and crafting items.

Stuff….
You’re really bored aren’t you. Run out of socially divisive topics did we?
RNG is fine where it is. At best it needs to be taken down several notches to give players more feeling of progression. Doesn’t mean it shouldn’t take an average amount of time to get a given item, just means that there shouldn’t be a chance it would take an obscene amount of time to get an item.
Perhaps he was a Mork and Mindy fan since I think that was where the word came from
Actually, if memory serves me correctly, Mork only used Shazbot as a swear word. Clearly an oversight that the kitten filter isn’t picking up words from the Planet Ork ;D

Lauren is right, I wasn’t clear. This patch will fix the existing areas that have problems. What we are still looking into is why they are happening and what we can do to prevent new ones in the future. I believe we’ve found it, if so then you’ll never see these again. If not we will keep fixing them and working towards a permanent solution.
For me, the single biggest issue with raids is the move away from build diversity. While there have always been meta builds, people could still play the build/gear/style they wanted without significantly hindering the group’s chances of success.
Raids changed that. They made the game more two dimensional and strongly encouraged people to play one specific style – which, in all cases, is the style that produces the highest amount of damage.
That is why I blame enrage timers for most of the issue. Unlike dungeons/fractals/etc, timers mean that damage is more important than anything – yes, even the vaunted mechanics. I think the current raid mechanics are fun, but – because of timers – there is an unnecessary barrier to entry to experience that fun.
Should their be unique rewards for overcoming the raid fights faster and inside the current timers? – yes, definitely.
But should people who enjoy their dagger/dagger vampiric necromancer or med kit engineer be – more or less – locked out of the content by unnecessary timers because they bring non-meta functionality to the fight instead of direct damage? – I vote no.
Likewise, should someone who only plays one or two hours every few weeks – and is in only exotic gear – have no way to EXPERIENCE the fights with a reasonable chance of beating it (without the exclusive reward)? – again, I think they should.
I would like to see them get back to what’s important in this game – build a holistic experience that tells a compelling story, is open to everyone and that offers unique/interesting encounters. Then go back and add challenging content (via motes, tiering, etc) in multiple areas – as it makes sense.
But, most importantly, build that holistic experience with the greater community in mind. It is how this game started and why many of us love it so much (actually why we came here in the first place).
Timers are a non-issue for anyone that actually raids. It’s almost always the mechanics. The timers are extremely generous.
That’s not to say they serve zero purpose. Tankier builds are easier to play than dps builds, because you can take more hits. Enrage timers bring parity to these builds by increasing the damage if you take too long. Feel free to bring tanky builds — just be prepared for a bit of enrage near the end of the fight.
Everyone can raid. Even someone in exotic. Even someone who plays a couple of hours a week. Even someone who wants to play d/d necro (I may be mistaken, but I think in the 10 necro sloth kill they had two power necros).
Not all builds are good. But most classes have one or two pretty good builds. And across 9 classes, that’s 18 builds you can play. It’s not like we’re stacking 10 elementalists here.
As a PS, here’s the list of builds I’ve personally accepted into the raids I lead:
Mesmer: Chrono tank / boon share
Elementalist: Staff dps, fresh air dps, healer, tank
Necro: Condition (minions, blood magic reaper, blood magic necro), tank
Ranger: Healing druid, condition, tank
Thief: staff dps, d/d dps, venom share
Engineer: Condition, power scrapper
Guardian: Hammer dps, greatsword aegis dps, tank
Warrior: ps power, ps condi, straight condi
Revenant: standard dps (shiro, mallyx, or dwarf as second legend), condi
Its only unprofessional if they dont have +5.
The PvE ppl who missed out in buying their GoB are actually quite right… There really wasn’t much notice about the removal. Yes, I’m sure there was some notice, but not a lot. I, for example, bought my GoB in Tuesday morning. U was even a few badges short because I spend a bunch crafting guild siege and forgot about GoB for my legendary. So I earned some badges and bought it.. then went to bed.
When I woke up and went to craft my final pieces and the legendary, GoB vendor had been removed. I literally LOL’d. That was lucky. I honestly had no idea.
With that being said, I selected the GoB track so I can bank one for next legendary, and that has already be completed, and another track, and that’s without using the potions.
tl;dr – yes, ppl have a right to be upset about the lack of vendor removal notice. No, it’s not a big deal to earn GoB, so just go do it.
Raids will be the first to get legendary armor, but it will probably not stay that way forever. However, the skin should stay exclusive to raids.
Imagine if Anet released an easy PvE option for The Ascension.
I encourage you to believe in the idea that Triumphant and Hero’s Triumphant armors are the T1 and T2 precursors of the WvW legendary armor. It might come true.
There are some things However that would help that Guildwars has that could easily be brought over to GW2. Districts, Armor, and Weapon dying.
I remember a quote from an ANet staff commenting on how easy it is for people who don’t work for ANet to say it’s easy to do something.
1) districts
No quote, but I remember a post long ago saying that districts are not easy to put in due to the structure of how the servers are set up. I think it’s moderately obvious that after years of people asking for this that if it was easy for this game to have districts they would have been put in already.
2) armor skins from Guild Wars 1
Highly desired many, but again not easy. They’ve directly said that making armor is something that requires a lot of effort. Bringing in armor from another game and fitting it to the 5 races and 2 sexes in this game would be no easy task.
3) weapon dyeing
Again, desired by many but not easy to put in as it would require the remake of all the weapons in the game to add dye channels. A considerable task since there are several hundreds(?) thousands(?) (a large number at any rate) weapons to redo. They’ve already said they’re not going to do this. It would be too much work for too little gain at this stage in the game’s life.tl:dr
None of your suggestions are easy to do as already explained previously by ANet on other threads. If bringing over a cache of weapon and armour skins is so difficult, then why are there many games already on the market where players have independently created mods for free that do that very thing?
I can wear Elder scrolls armour in Tera
I can augment any armour in the witcher series to be re-textured.
EtcFor the herculean task it is,..members from other communities without qualifications in coding have successfully done it and updated it with each patch that game has undergone.
I am by no means calling Anet lazy or anything, but developers in other games have listed their favourite community mods and taken them on board when developing any further titles in their series.
Just saying.
To that I can only give the quote below, and add this question. If it was so very simple to port over armors from another game to this game, then why haven’t they done it? if all they need to do is bring it over, tweak this and tweak that and voile! It’s ready for gw2 prime time! and yet they haven’t done it in spite of so many people asking for it over the years and it being a very easy way to make people happy. Why haven’t they?
Either they are lazy or they don’t care about an easy fix to improve their game or it’s harder than you think. I’m going with it’s harder/more expensive than all the people who say it’s so easy/cheap to do think it is.
Regina BGimmeSylvariHi ! Will there ever be any official armor design contests?
Like the guild emblem creation, but for a full armor set ?
Also, seeing that the animators do such a great job in GW2, why can’t we get more emotes ? (Could even be a gemstore thing, as long as it’s not a book thingie that we have to take everywhere, but something that unlocks new emote commands instead ?)
Armor is one of the most expensive things in the game to create. Armor is complicated and needs to be created with many considerations in mind, and these considerations may not be easily apparent or describable to fan armor designers. It isn’t a bad idea to run a contest like this, but it’s many orders more involved than other types of contests, which may be a better use of our limited development and marketing resources. We always have to weigh the pros and cons of any type of contest based on our marketing goals.
(Snip-about emotes)
ANet may give it to you.
Pretty sure your guild owns a daily PvP room too which would make it a lot easier.
Therein lies the problem. One of my very best friends said this:
“It’s kinda hard to design maps that discourage zerging while still allowing zergs, to spread population evenly while maintaining server pride and reputation, to eliminate nightcapping while making wvw a perpetual conflict. These things are mutually exclusive and there is no dev on the planet who could make them happen.”
This statement was made when everyone was kittening about the desert borderland, but the concept somewhat remains the same.
The linkings, at least it seems to me, was put in to appease the lower pop servers, to retain their server identity while giving them more people to work with.
But it IS, after all “world” versus “world.” And as the upper tier server populations indicate, massive battles are enjoyable.
Also, I know for a fact, it’s not hard to roam at all in the upper tiers. All you need is a little map/situational awareness. Know where your pins are (and that’s usually where zergs are, or are going to go). Watch the flips. It’s really not that hard.
And I know this by coming from one of the lowest tier servers that I left in June of 2013. I literally told people “I’ll never go to Tier 1, it’s just blob after blob after blob.” For one thing, I couldn’t have been more wrong. For another thing, I can’t even imagine being in a low-pop server again.

All are welcome!
Anyone who says tiers is a bad thing needs to find the door and get out.
This is usually not a strong strategy when it comes to convincing people to read the rest of your post.
I am very happy that LS3 is connected (in some way) with Raid Narrative, and I expected that something will be from the Wing 3. But the words from statement confused me.
“Raid stories can—and should—be thematically tied to Tyrian lore and enhance the game.
If any lore information from the raids is relevant to storylines in other content, we’ll make sure that information is also available in that other content.”But: “Raids are not part of our Living World episodes; they are separate game elements.”
I cannot understand this paradox.
Ever seen a filler episode of a TV show? They aren’t necessary to watch to get the story, but they do provide backstory and character development. It can enhance the story, but isn’t required for the big picture. That’s what it sounds like they’re doing to me.
So it isn’t a paradox. They don’t expect people to have raided to get the full story. The raid narrative just might have ties to that story and may enhance it in some way, or not.
Item 78394 Spangenhelm of the Warrior has skin 2036, should be skin 258?
Item 67118 Ardent Glorious Raiment has skin 5628, I assume should be 5641
Item 18747 what the hell?
Skin 4879 Did we really need a double of 4060?
