EOTM is the future. Get use to it BG and JQ. Coverage Wars II has died.

SOR’s offense is a force to be reckoned with. I wouldn’t find it hard to believe that they fight more for bags than for PPT considering that when they zerg, they map zerg. If their group is in one place you can just about guarantee that they’re not another place. I don’t consider their “for fights” mentality “unhealthy” as some have said. Playing for PPT is just as bad. It’s a game, have fun with it and play it how you want. I transferred from a lower tier server (Dragonbrand) because I wanted a server that wouldn’t shrug it off every time their territory was under attack. And I’m not disappointed with my decision.
So I don’t pity SoR, and I don’t find their mentality unhealthy. I enjoyed the fights and I hope they roll some T2 servers if they happen to move down because they’re a powerful server and if they can roll T1 they can do it to T2.

I love your awesome back-handed insult that people who play EOTM are bads. I’m sure several <=T2 guilds who also enjoy EOTM would fully support that stance, right guys?

Don’t forget, SoR did win T1 matches, so clearly it wasn’t that hard. It just so happened that at the time, we had better coverage. Now you have better coverage, so you win. It’s that simple. For anyone to believe otherwise says more about them and their ignorance than it does about current affairs on SoR.
We currently feel that EOTM best caters to what we want to achieve in WvW play. If that doesn’t meet your expectations or definition of WvW, deal with it. We don’t play to make BG or JQ happy. And if a T2 server gets moved up due to our PPT decline, that’s not really our problem either. Should we be forced to play against BG and JQ repeatedly just because you don’t want to?
I feel for the Rallians who still want to win the PPT game. I’m sorry our guilds aren’t doing what you would like. But based on that same logic, you cannot fault us pursuing the gameplay experience we seek. The best I can do is recommend you start your own organized PPT guild, and/or take it up with key SoR WvW commanders.

Simple. SoR never had many people. The reason why the server survived in T1 is because of it’s few dedicated hardcore WvW guilds. Unlike Stackgate and Jade Quarry, when things such as ESO and EotM come out, SoR does not have the “backup” numbers to field in WvW. The server doesn’t rely on massive amount of pugs or numbers to win. Now most, if not all of the guilds are playing EotM. There’s no worrying about PPT or running through 50 ACs or any bullkitten. Just fights.

And there is no “farming pugs” in EotM. Obviously there are alot of pugs, but you can find some of the best guilds there who have a fights > PPT mentality. I see EP all the time. Personally they’re my favorite guild to fight.

Most of SoR’s original guilds are still here. XPK made a minimal difference. They’ve only been back for a few weeks before they left, anyways. SoX didn’t even have a significant WvW force since the last few weeks before it left also. Obviously IRON is gone and FEAR left but if they had stayed it wouldn’t have made a difference. People on the server want to EotM, not smash their heads against 70 ppt hungry Blackgate hiding in a T3 keep with 10 Arrow Carts

If the server collapses, so be it. It’ll die with dignity. There won’t be any massive bandwagon. I’d rather drop tiers than have to buy guilds to win. I suspect the same thing will happen to JQ eventually. The balance rift Blackgate caused by buying guilds and recruiting as much as possible has all but ruined T1 balance and destroyed much of the lower tier servers.

Irrespective of the e-kitten-waving contest between BG and JQ, as of this writing SoR is ticking +20 in the middle of a weekend, and that’s not good for anyone.

Its good for SOR…. better to just tank and get it over with then bleed to death slowly. The good thing is our community is having a great time in EOTM and everyone is having fun. Once we get to tier 2, we will most likely be back out in regular wvw.

I really don’t understand why are people on BG/JQ worried about SoR. We really don’t mind at all falling tiers, if we can still get fights and bags.
We are having fun. We got our fights. And you guys got your PPT. If you guys really miss us THIS much (that’s kinda cute, actually), join EoTM and we gonna welcome you guys with open arms (and swords, bows, hammers etc).

SOR guilds are having fun in EOTM, thats what is happening. After months of the same match-up its simply nice to have some guilds to fight. JQ/BG can still play the ppt game, if they want to run around in 80 man blobs doing pvd and killing the few hapless roamers they come across then nothing is stopping them.

I actually feel sorry for the poor scouts on those servers who must pass hours in keeps, with only the workers running around upgrading. “tagging” the 25 arrowcats, 6 trebs, 4 catas and the occasional ballista (not to mention the 4/5 omégas). Waiting for the eventual force of 15 to come along so they can call in “the blob” to dive it off….

Yeah its true SOR doesnt play the ppt game, we have a less “civil servant” attitude to how we play. I dont think anyone cares if we drop to T2 or even T3. Maybe, when the drop from T1 happens, the guilds who are currently “farming” bags in EOTM will return to wvw, or maybe not.

It is interesting that it seems the majority of people who ‘Feel sorry for SoR’ are people who aren’t on SoR. And I certainly don’t recall SoR looking for pity. So we might see a scenario down to road where a few servers take turns being rolled by JQ/BG every week. That sure beats being rolled by them every week, right? I don’t get what all the complaining is about.

How did FA get weaker after the addition of SoR guilds? It makes no sense. They must have lost guilds at the same time.

I’m disappointed by SoR falling apart. That means there is no true #3 server. Any of the current T2 servers will get wrecked by BG and JQ. Even worse is that T2 is actually pretty balanced right now especially if FA starts fighting like kittenain.

SoR falling to t2 is the best thing to happen to us. I guess you would have to play here to understand that.

Is there any server left besides jq/bg thats cares about coverage wars anyways?

Its not really toxic…everyone is having a ton of fun in EOTM….. Im 100% sure that whichever servers moves up to tier 1 to replace SOR will just sit in EOTM for that week.

I feel horrible about the players that are left on SoR just wondering what the hell happened. Wish BG would stop buying so many guilds and even lose some to SoR. Maybe we could have some fun, even matchups again ’cause this sh*ts getting old.

We are letting BG and JQ fight over PPT. All of our guilds are happily fighting in EOTM.

you are aware that the triple wurm event is what is called an open world RAID right ?
as such it is designed with meta builds in mind and made as hard as possible to beat using mentioned meta builds, now imagine trying to beat that kind of content with your idea of fun build? from that perspective I say if you wanna run your cookie have fun build don’t go trying to join a RAID !

The guilds from kaineng, SBI and SoS is ancient history. And so what if they transferred to BG all those months ago? In the recent history, please name a few guilds that have transferred to BG?

Just throwing this out there, and I’m fairly certain this has been the case for the last two months, or it’s highly coincidental that every time I open the xfer/guest list, BG is always Full status, but….

What do you expect for the only NA server that killed the great wurm and the first to kill Teq? Of course tons of pve/pvx people are going to transfer to BG. What has this to do with the false rumor that BG is acquiring more WvW guilds?

Has a lot to do with WvW….PvErs guest they don’t xfer and if they do xfer, that’s more militia for WvW. Noones saying you are acquiring more WvW guilds, it’s already stacked as full as it can be.

And it’s more to do with the whole “we turn away guilds/no one xfers here” lie. Noone does because no one can.

I had stopped playing GW2 for a couple of months, uninterested in the new content coming out as well as underwhelmed by the storytelling.

However although this patch was one with least quantity, it was certainly by my view one of with unexpected quality. I had been keeping myself informed about the Edge of the Mists so it wasn’t something that took me by surprise, but once I actually got into it I was pleasantly shocked by how fun it was.

I never really enjoyed WvW because of the huge scale that it is, so that smaller scale WvW style game really appealed to me. Not only that but the way the story was told for this patch made me feel like I was in an actual RPG game instead of watching a short movie.

It felt immersive, the story actually made me interested in hearing more, the way you got to just hang out with the characters made me feel a lot more interested in them. Even the fetch quest Taimi makes you do for her in the Edge of the Mists was surprisingly fun. The fact it was a PvE-like activity in a PvP world made me really get interested.

I think having areas like the Edge of the Mists where they can mix a bit of PvE gameplay in with the constant danger of a PvP environment would be a really interesting experience.

Over all I think this was a step in the right direction.

Sub fees make me feel like my characters are being held hostage.

I just came here to say great job.
I was really surprised when the np’c referred to my character as a person- and actually wanted my input.
It made me feel like I was part of the story in a way that had been very lacking.

Just want to say thanks for actually making my character feel important in the dialogue between myself and the Living Story characters. Giving orders and having characters ask me what to do is a good step in the right direction.

It’s A LOT better than, “Yeah. Great. Go on. Will do.”

Being from the Priory, and having a line mentioning my name being important was also good. It’s a small detail, but it’s a huge improvement. Obviously my character speaking would be the ultimate result, but I understand why that’s not always possible (both budgetary and currently technically).

I agree a really great update, loving the new map.

I despise the idea of spvp/tpvp esport crap in a MMO, and I can only hope more mmo’s start realizing PvX pvp is the way to go. Some of the best pvp (imo) in mmo’s has always been this style of pvp, and some of the worse problems in MMO’s has always been because of the introduction of “esports” in mmo’s.

In other words, keep up the great work Anet, I really hope to see more pvp content like this expanded on.

At least, my hunger for world pvp (aka in Tyria maps) is a bit fed… You see, more individual fights… group fights, and not “Zerg or be Zerged!”
