Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
No they can’t.
They can trade gems to gold with other players and then buy gear crafted by other players (or dropped, but mainly crafted) for said gold.
That is a big difference.
Ride the lightning was OP because it was unaffected by conditions, really long range, low cool down and a knockdown. Name a warrior skill that does all that then I will agree it should be nerfed. Don’t forget now it halves the cool down when it hits so not a nerf when used to fight
The original 1500 hidden range was OP and deserved a change, however otherwise I think it was balanced with Warriors GS rush. Ride the Lightning is affected by conditions, but it also isn’t affected by swiftness (like every warrior mobility skill) and is one of the only mobility skills eles have.
Ride the Lightning either needs to be reverted, or, better yet, several Warrior (and some other professions) mobility skills need a +25%-50% cooldown when used without a target (and RotL should be buffed so it’s only +5-10 seconds when used without a target rather than 20 seconds when it doesn’t hit a player).
This guy gets it.
Don’t we think it’s time to do the same for Warrior’s mobility skills?
For example’ it’s like a lion asking to have a cheetah speed.
no thank you!!
I propose a very simple solution to both sides of the problem: Everyone who thinks they have too much gold and nothing to spend it on should send their spare gold to someone in this thread who said they don’t have enough.
Then everyone is happy.
(Disclaimer: This is not a serious suggestion, unless you want to send it to me of course.
)
This is a pretty cool thing actually:) I like it! It would be cool to happen to pick that cap as a current Tyrian… The conversation could be so cool!
The video made me smile, and it made the people in the cab smile.. isn’t that all that counts
Relax…..
It was super cute =)
Good video. I totally support GW2’s modo of doing away with subscription fee’s. Since playing GW2 I have uninstalled all of the other mmo’s I was playing at the time, accept for 1 that gives you a choice to buy new content when released instead of subscribing. But yeah, I hope GW2 puts a strangle hold on the industry.
I thought it was cute.
Btw… I live near Santa Monica in LA… and I’m sure that’s not the weirdest thing they saw that day.

This would give a lot of people peace of mind, Bobby, I hope you respond: is the end of Scarlet’s arch already on its way?
I mentioned this elsewhere on the forums, but I’ll say it here again. There is an end to the Scarlet story that has been planned out. I’m not at liberty to discuss release dates or the timeline, though.
I’d just like to say thank you Kristen for doing such a great job with the Sylvari. I only hope if we could hear if this was last change you’re doing to the armors? I have had to use several makeovers already because of all this changing.
I also attached before-change (first one) and after-changes (second one) pictures. I think the new one looks pretty close to what it was, just without the violet parts
.
And once again, thank you for listening to us.
awww </3 she looked good in it too.
i wonder how long it will take for “flame-kissed” to become a meme to describe “something beautiful that was abruptly destroyed”.
The uproar is about nonhumans being able to keep the flame skin. There are many of us with human characters that applied the new flame skin to our existing human T3 armor. With the new change not only will we be losing out on the skin we purchased with gems, but we will also lose the T3 armor skin that we purchased with gold.
The solution is simple, allow human characters that have already applied the new flame skin to keep that skin.
Please consider this.
Thanks in advance.
Just make it an upgrade of the t3 via the mystic forge and add more upgrades so other races are not left out.
The good thing is that ANet did, finally, admit to making a mistake. That is most honourable a behaviour, for which I indeed thank ANet.
I was correct to still have my hope in you. I know that from now on you will be able to communicate well with the “constructive” part of the community in order to make this game live up to its pre-release promises: the most special MMO game ever.
Let’s hope such mistakes as the one with Flamekissed armour don’t see the light of day again.
Let’s just communicate well, both the devs and the average people.
Together, we can do it!
Thank you, ANet, for re-thinking and correcting you mistake. Thank you again.
Hey Sensotix,
Thanks for the write-up.
I’ve been seeing a lot of threads like this on the forums lately, often accompanied with an itemized list of suggestions or concerns. I think the reason we’re seeing them pop up so often is because people aren’t exactly sure what direction we’re heading in terms of PvP – and that’s understandable.
This thread is slightly ill-timed. I say that because, yet again, I have to say that we’re almost ready to release a ton of information on PvP, but we’re not quite there yet. Next Monday (after the long holiday weekend) we’ll be releasing a blog post that will road-map a great deal of things our team will be working on implementing through the end of this year and going into next year. This should address a lot of the concerns you’ve raised and answer many of your questions. Starting next week we’ll be able to engage in discussion regarding future changes like we’d like to.
After the blog post we’re going to take strides to keep you guys in the loop as much as possible. This is a big priority for our team. As I’ve mentioned in previous threads, we’re going to start running a bi-weekly livestream that will give updates on PvP, tournaments, balance updates/previews, and just about anything else PvP related. That should help fill the gaps. Plus, you guys will get to see my baby blues again.
As for the balance changes – I’m not a part of that team so I can’t speak on their behalf. I hop into meetings from time to time to give feedback on changes or to present feedback from the forums, but that’s about the extent of it. I will, however, pass the thread along to them in case they haven’t seen it already. (Hint: They probably have.)
Personally, I think the changes coming on December 10th will have a significant impact on our current meta. The full implications? I don’t think anyone can predict that quite yet. There may even be a few surprises in there…
Next year is going to be a great year and I’m happy that we have so many devoted and dedicated players that are coming along for the ride with us. For those of you that have drifted away from the game for one reason or another – I honestly hope we’ll see you in-game again.
GROUCH OUT!
Edit: Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Hey, everyone. We’ve been reading all your feedback about the Flamekissed Armor Skin that was released into the Gem Store yesterday.
Although the Flamekissed Armor uses the same mesh as the Tier 3 Human Cultural Armor, it was not our intention to create an armor skin that so closely matched the existing Tier 3 Human Cultural armor set. The intention was to use the mesh as a basis for creating an armor set that stands apart and is distinct in appearance. However, after reading your feedback, we agree that the Flamekissed armor is not visually distinct enough from Human Cultural Tier 3 armor. We will do a few things to address this issue.
- We will temporarily remove Flamekissed Armor Skin from the Gem Store.
- Players who have purchased Flamekissed Armor Skin will keep the skin.
- We will make new art for the Flamekissed Armor Skin that achieves our goal of making a visually distinct and attractive armor set and does not closely resemble the Human Tier 3 Cultural armor.
- Once this new artwork is completed, we will then update the Flamekissed Armor Skin so that all existing sets that players have purchased get the new art. We will also offer the Flamekissed Armor Skin for sale again at that time.
- When we update the Flamekissed Armor Skins with the new artwork, any player that has already purchased the set and who does not like the new, updated look, can get a full refund by contacting Customer Support.
Note that there is no ETA on when this change will happen. We need to work with the Character Art Team to determine when we can have a new armor skin ready, and this could take some time.
Thank you everyone for providing your feedback. We appreciate that you took the time to let us know how you feel about the new armor set.
Excellent fix.
Acknowledged the issue and presented a solution and proper compensation. However,
I hope you don’t completely scrap this idea of having particles on cultural armour. Maybe introduce it in a different method, perhaps? Like those have purchased cultural armour can upgrade their armour through the mystic forge like upgrading the ascended back piece in fractal of the mist to make it shiny. Short of legendary armour, this is can be the poor man’s way to get nice effects without having to go through the extensive amount of time to craft one.

Thank you! Thank you SO MUCH. This is possiblythe best way to handle this kerfluffle you yould have come up with. Seriously, thank you for listening an caring. I am looking forward to the updated design. Your design team can do so much better. Hint for making everyone happy: Let us dye the particle effects on the finished and you will sell a TON of those.

+100000000000000. Thank you so much Anet team!
And unfortunately they can’t make everyone happy, obviously people are going to be upset if they used the gems to get the set. A refund in gems is a fair trade in my opinion, there is plenty in the gem store to use those gems on, or save for a different set. People are just going to be upset they can’t have their cheap and easy t3 armor anymore.

100% satisfied with the response and action to be taken. Once again Anet restores my faith. <3
Wow, I literally just bought the armor from the store 10 minutes before reading about ANet’s response. I like it as-is, but I think ANet’s response is appropriate and I’m excited to see how the armor look is updated in the future. I’m also glad I grabbed it now before it’s removed =D

Just wow. I absolutely, 100% did not expect this, ever. You are making the correct decision and my faith is partially restored. (will never be 100% cause I feel the company greatly deviated from the manifesto and went 180 on gear treadmill). However, I have to give you credit on this and I am glad you have listened to the player base.
Might I highly suggest the PvP Masquerade light skin as an already available, highly desired, PvE light armor skin.
Yes, there has been a lot of noise about the new Flamekissed armour. A forum explosion, if you will. People wanting answers, naturally. Forum mods have probably been earning overtime – if they were getting paid – dealing with many repeat threads breaking forum rules.
However, Anet have listened, and responded.
People may feel this was not in a timely manner, but let’s take things in perspective. Anet is a company. There are many people that work there, and they would need to discuss and agree upon a solution to the problem at hand. It isn’t up to just one person.
Anet might be doing some things wrong still in many opinions (coughScarletcough) but actions such as this, as well as listening about different colour borders for item rarities in your inventory show they do listen to the community.
So, thanks Anet for listening. We know it can be hard, but while there are things we think you are doing wrong, you are also doing a lot right which doesn’t get mentioned nearly as often.
I am SO happy to get a reasonable response from ANet on this. Thank you. I think the solution is quite fair.
After reading this forum I used the LFG tool with trepidation. I had never done any dungeons apart from with friends, and well… honestly, the horror stories here were legion. Especially as I have only done a few runs before, and some of the dungeons I wanted to run were completely new to me.
However, all three separate pugs were friendly and efficient, I learned where to stack and were to stand and there were really no issues what so ever even when we died repeatedly (CM path 2, I’m looking at you and your explosive barrels…)
So yeah, just a thank you note to all you strangers out there who are nice and helpful in pugs.
Friendly people make a world of difference in MMOs, particularly when it comes to dungeons.
I wish more people realized this. Glad to see you found some good people though. =)
