Should there be a section on the site where it is possible to see one’s characters and members of a guild, gear, weapons etc…
Or would this create a precedent where people would start criticizing players and focusing too much on gear and enchants instead of on the player?
I for one would like to be able to see my characters on the site and see where I can improve them or where they have something missing but I also would like to keep that information private. What do you think?
If it was private, I would think this was fine, public, absolutely not (a middle ground where you could permit people or put out a “snapshot” could be okay).
Also no to any kind of “inspect” functionality in game – ASK the person if you want to know, for god’s sake – it builds community instead of making everyone into creeps looking at your stuff.
EDIT – You don’t really need it, though to see your stats – just open a character builder and set up your gear as you have it – the stats will be correct. That’s not something you can do in WoW or other games.
Or just the fact that, despite all the hate and criticism from inside, Guild Wars 2 is a good and solid MMO.
I flipped a coin and it came up Heads, therefore Tails must have a lower probability.
from my experience he normally keeps clawing away at people harmlessly and then he will pause for a little bit then one shots everyone in range. So if you see it pause a little bit, just dodge. It is difficult to see though especially when you have charr warriors with twilight >_>
Why do people who seem to be obsessed with others shooting themselves in the foot always seem to have their own foot firmly planted in their mouths?
To Tequatl I say, “So long and thanks for all the fish!”
Stop playing on machines from the late 90s. A 3rd gen intel i5 and a GTX 640 GPU will run Tequatl on max settings without breaking a sweat. The problem isn’t the servers or even the engine. It’s YOUR machine.

Me and two guildies did the Sparkfly achievements without using Dulfy at all. It took us all of two hours.
Be glad you guys didn’t play RPGs back in the day. You’d have run screaming off into the night.
FAAAAAAAAAABUULOUSSSS!!!
It’s amazing what Anet did with this Event, it honestly feels more lively and brings hundreds of players together to fight this event.
I love hearing all of these players getting together and strategizing for the next fight, we have groups set up and players listening and working together to kill this boss.
IMO players should get some better loot from the fight, and future fights for bosses like this. Reason I say this is because it takes plenty of teamwork to get this done and players should be more heavily rewarded (with better rewards) upon completion.
I hope Anet continues to add more challenging and fun content like this for Guild Missions, World Events and Anything PvE.
The best feeling about this is that this fight feels almost more like one of the enjoyable traditional raids I used to play in MMOs back in the day. I’m excited for more content like this and possibly fights where teamwork is crucial for a win.
Great Job and Keep up the Great Work Arena Net!

I think a problem is that there is currently no other living story content out that people are interested in doing. So everyone is camped in Sparkfly Fen. There just needs to be a reason for people to leave.
P.S. I’m not gonna watch a 30 minute video about someone complaining.
If it was important, he could post it on these forums himself, instead of farming youtube views.
Well, Berserker builds are probably the most OP specialization in the game, so it’s nice to see the Soldiers and Knights get a chance to shine
Allow me to clear this up.
1. The meta will be available for 2 weeks.
2. The Tequat’l fight is permanent content; Rox and the dragon clue hunts will go away after 2 weeks.
3. “Boss Week” is a Shark Week joke.
Find a group/guild that doesn’t mind watching cut scenes. In my guild we often watch them…and we’re happy to wait if someone hasn’t seen them before.
Congratulations players of blackgate for world first! (^_^)//
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
At first, everyone rushes in because they want to see the new content.
After a few days of waiting hours at a time for Teq to spawn only to realize their server can’t defeat him, people look for alternatives like guesting.
After a few days of waiting hours at a time for Teq to spawn on the guested server only to realize they can’t defeat him either, people will stop trying.
Once people stop trying there won’t be any more overflows.
Give it a week.
In the next 24 hours, he will be beaten.
In the next 72 hours, there will be a strategy.
By the end of the week, he will be farmed.
People thought that dungeons like AC and CoF were too hard at one point…
“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
Maybe the facemashing mapchat whiners will leave after a few days and leave it to coordinated parties to earn their unique drops with heaping helpings of persistence and effort.
Sorry about that- it was accidentally broken when we were working on some other things. We should have this fixed soon.
Anet, this one is actually the first fight in the game that requires something else then auto attack on a safe spot and go afk.
And it does not seem that kittence you understand the mechanics. But it will take some time until people know what to do.
Glass cannos in the front are useless here, they are constantly in downstate as they do not have enough toughness and regeneration. They are better off defending the cannons while ranged builds with a decent amout of toughness/regenerations stay at the front. They have enough room to move/jump over waves while keeping constant dps.
So the tactics is obviously. But will our melee zerkers understand it or will the rage on the forums? We’ll find out.

They release stuff “without testing it”: people complain.
They test it and people complain.I would rather have these test than getting into a situation where my character is locked into something due to a bug.
I agree that it might have been better to leave the LFG out of the preview page though.
My thoughts exactly. Threads like these make me happy I’m not in the games industry.
No. They have literally been bragging about how they’re finally adding in the LFG tool since they announced it. To slyly announce LAST MINUTE that “oh, by the way, we’re not actually releasing it” is ridiculous.
They’re releasing it, but phased. That way they can make sure the players don’t DDOS it on day 1. Sounds like a pretty good idea, considering how popular this tool is going to be.
Your answer is going to be “make more servers then”. That’s a ridiculous position, to reserve tons of serverspace for a tool that’ll have its peak users moments after launch. It’s a total waste of money, whereas a phased launch is far more lenient towards system resources. It’s win-win for everyone, including you.
Would you rather have a bad tool now, or a good, functional tool in a week or so? Quality takes time.
Also, if they want testing, they should have TEST SERVERS. As has been suggested since forever.
There is a test server. Your ignorance doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

You’re kidding right?
This franchise, thanks to the input of Jeremy Soule, has some of the best music of the MMO crop.
The problem is that you’ve heard it all before, as no boss has unique music.
Furthermore, the music you’ve listed is decent, but still nothing special in that it sounds like formulaic JRPG battle music.
I loves those games too, but you’re having a nostalgia attack. You want to FEEL like you did when you heard this music, which is why the music is meaningful to you, not because it’s great music.

Yay. A cobalt with a recolored particle effect.
Except with a model that looks nothing like cobalt and smoke instead of fire but…sure, it’s cobalt. lol
Greetings Fellow Gamers!
My name’s Justin Olson and I’m the guild leader of War is Hell. We moved to Tarnished Coast in the middle of July and have been having a blast since we did. One of the reasons we moved to Tarnished Coast was for the community, it was something we were told TC had in spades. Well the truth of the matter is that TC is an even better community minded server then we could have ever dreamed of.
We wanted to be a part of that community, and as a community we wanted to give back. I brought the idea of becoming active and participating in Extra-Life to my Officers and the guild a week ago. Myself and one of my Council members, Vincynt, got to chatting about it and really thought it was a great charity, great event, and something we wanted to get behind.
So here we go!
What is Extra-Life?
Extra-Life is a gaming marathon held on November 2nd whereby participants reach out to their friends, family and fellow gamers to donate some cash to a worthy cause, the support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
What Are You Going to Do?
We’re going to get our friends, family members and fellow gamers to pledge us so we can game all night and into the wee hours of the morning to make a difference in the lives of children with critical illnesses and serious injuries. We play to raise money so they can keep on playing!
Specifically we’re going to start gaming on November 1st (I know, a little early, but hey, it’ll be fun!) at 6 pm Server for Reset. You’re going to find us, War is Hell, and anyone who wants to join us, out in WvW for as long as we can go! 6 PM Server on the 1st until 6 pm Server on the 2nd, or longer if we don’t pass out and get keyboard imprints on our foreheads!
How Can I Help?
There are two ways you can help.
The first way you can help is by going to Extra-Life’s website, signing up for an account, and joining the TC Community Team! Set yourself a goal, and start reaching out to your friends and family today! Then on the 1st at 6 PM Server join us on TC’s Mumble for a great night of fun holding points on BL’s and playing together! We want to encourage as many of you as possible to sign up, join the team and make TC proud by showing the gaming community and the world at large how big all of our hearts are. If you’d like to join us and you don’t play on the Tarnished Coast server please don’t let that discourage you! We would be more than happy to see our friends from other servers join our group and help raise some money for the kids!
The second way would be by visiting the TC Community Team Site and selecting one of the team members raising money for a hospital close to you and making a donation. Any donation no matter the size helps. Skip a few cups of coffee one week and donate $5. Help save a child’s life and make a difference.
But Guys, I don’t WvW…
We get it, not everyone loves the best gameplay mode in Guild Wars 2
Don’t let that deter you! Even if you’re not going to join us in WvW, marathon overnight, or even play GW2. You can still participate by raising money or donating! Extra-Life is about playing games to raise money and awareness for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in each of our communities.
I Have More Questions About This, Who Should I Talk To?
You can find myself or Vincynt online a lot in the War is Hell Mumble channels on the TC Community Mumble. You can catch Vin at the Reset Meeting on Thursday Nights, or you can PM either myself or him on the War is Hell website. Or the simplest way, post your question here! We’ll be checking often and be sure to do our best to answer it.
We haven’t thought of everything, we’re just trying to get the ball rolling. If you’d like to become involved in helping organize and lead events for people to participate in, or just generally have questions come find us in mumble, PM us on our website, or on the GW2 Forums (Vincynt.7396 or Dethroat.3514), we’d love to chat with you more about participating!
We will also be running a livestream for the event, you can check it out here.
That’s all for now, we’ll keep you posted via this thread on any additional updates!

I’m not referring to anyone in particular, just my attempt at humor.
I studied simple programming long, long ago. Back in the Dark Ages when computer monitors consisted of a black screen and a blinking white light, and typing the wrong thing got you a response like “Syntax Error.” There were no mice or hard drives and we stored programs on disks the size of dinner plates. Windows was something you looked out of when you were wishing you were somewhere else.
They don’t announce they will fix a bug because they can’t. They announce after a bug has been fixed because in order to fix it you have to find it first. If they haven’t found it yet they have no idea how long it will take to find it and if they have already found it then the bug has been fixed and so they don’t need to announce they intend to fix it.
The bugs in simple programs like a database or a program to move a box around the monitor screen drove me crazy. Fixing bugs in something as complex as an MMO is like repairing a jet engine while the plane is in flight. The amazing thing is not how long it takes to fix a bug but that they get fixed at all! And the next update breaks a dozen more things.
If you haven’t done it, you can’t understand what it involves. Imagine being shown an entire wing of a library – hundreds or thousands of books, and being told that there is a typo in one of those books. Find it and correct it. By next Tuesday.
