Devonas Rest – Black Rose Legion -CF4L
We have a hearing impaired guild leader / commander on our server as well. Knowing that there is an impairment makes a huge difference in the teams response to that individuals communication habits. They are no longer urged to get on TS. They lead their guild primarily and cover down as a map commander when another commander needs relieved. I would follow her commands through text without question because I know she has the skill, knowledge and dedication to lead the fight.
The game dynamic shifts when you are not in VOIP and as a follower we adapt to her style and direction. When following her you work to keep intel flowing to her steady and anticipate commands more.
Get off the fence and go look at these people! They have good leaders and they are fun to play with.
And yourself Corn. Happy Wintersday to AR.
Oh I can very much empathise. There was no harm intended by my post. happy Wintersday to DR
There will be Sailors and Soldiers and odd Asuran merchants. We have roses and barbies and the occasional vampire. You need room to stretch and flex those 200 people you rallied together into a fighting force? We have room man! Bring it on over to Devonas Rest.
You need a mermaid to kiss you first … now where have I seen one recently …
Welcome to GW2!
First off, transferring to another server. Is paying to move to another server the only way? Or can I just make a character to learn the ropes, delete him and choose another server later?
If you delete all of your characters, you can transfer servers for free. Be sure to put your non-character bound items in your bank first, though, so you can take them out on other characters. Note that you can only transfer servers once every 7 days (regardless of whether you did a paid or free transfer).
The bank, is it account wide, region wide, server wide or character based? (goes along with making toons to test out the classes)
It is account-wide.
I noticed there’s a guesting tool but how exactly does a guild work, is it server based? Or are we able to use the guest tool to drag members together from multiple servers?
A guild can have members from any server. However, guild upgrades are server-bound. Every server has a separate upgrade and influence pool, so if your guild has the guild bank unlocked on the Blackgate server, guild members based on Tarnished Coast cannot use it, but must build their own. Hopefully that makes sense.
Guild members also have the same restrictions regarding guesting, in that they cannot WvW together if they are on different servers. However, they can participate in guild missions together if one server has them unlocked, and get full rewards. They can also play PvE content together through guesting. Note that they can only guest together if they are in the same region. NA players cannot play with EU players.
Can you have characters on multiple servers? I figured with the world versus world it’d be sort of a bad idea to be able to due to “Spies, traitors, griefers and etc.” roaming about. Yet I haven’t been able to find out if you can or not.
You cannot.
Do the questions they ask you in character creation affect how your character progresses -as in skill acquiring, specialization and etc.?
They affect the first and second arcs of your personal story- you will have different story missions depending on what you pick. Some of them also give you different-looking starter gear. Others put different NPCs in your home instance that you can chat with (for no benefit than just chatting). The charr warband choice determines the profession of an NPC you fight alongside for the first three arcs of your story. That’s the extent of it.
Are the race based abilities / traits / powers w/e they’re called significant enough to affect my choice of character?
Not really. All races have the same stats, hitboxes, traits, and so on. There are racial skills, but they are deliberately weak next to class skills. Only things to consider when choosing a race are the following:
-Cultural armor (which is cosmetic)
-Appearance- some people hate how armor looks on charr, or how small asura are, or the look of cloth and metal on sylvari.
-Size- some people find norn and charr unbearably slow (they move at the same speed as other races, but appear slower due to being bigger). It’s also harder to do jumping puzzles on norn and charr due to their size.
In videos I have also noticed there’s 3 choices, ferocity-charm-dignity (at least I think), are those choices just story progression / branching or does that eventually affect skills / power acquisition?
They determine a few flavor dialogue choices for NPCs, but that’s it.
Ok thanks for the replies. I don’t want to buy the T6 mats from TP because i need to save gold to buy the precursor and icy runestones for the legendary so i think i will use my laurels. I will farm for a month or two first though and see where i’m at.
That’s basically what I did, while they are time gated laurels only really have 5 uses. T6 mats, Dyes, random novelty items/minis, ascended trinkets, and using either of the first two to make money. And you only need so many ascended trinkets.
Also if you haven’t yet, make sure to do your clovers before you finish your T6 mats. Most people have bad luck getting the clovers and end up getting a good amount of T6 mats instead.
NO !!

Or you can do the champ train events in Queensdale and get pretty rich at the end selling all the things you get. The leveling rate is 1 level /hour or less. it will feel like a Nascar race with hundreds of laps going from troll, to bandit then oak and spider following up to the boar. From time to time you might take a pit stop route to the wasp.
This, with a caveat:
If you’re going to do this to 80, you will most likely end up brain dead and hunger for money.
/end disclaimer
Well, what server are you on? If you post the server maybe someone on your server will see this thread and offer to give you the “guided tour” so to speak.
Look at gw2crafting.net. Most times you advance and unlock better recipes by discovery.
Join the ranks of us alt-o-holics and make a new character. And another and another and…
One of us! One of us! MWAHAHAHAHA XD
Some ways to level up without fighting:
gathering plants, wood and ore – you will need this stuff for crafting
crafting gives you XP for leveling – the faster you level up your crafting level the faster you get XP for leveling your character. Pick 2 crafts for your character. I would recommend the 2 needed for equipping yourself with armor and weapons. The best way to level up in crafting is through exploring recipes. Read up on crafting first to optimize the time and materials you need to spend. Crafting is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, way to level up.
100% an area to get a nice XP bonus. Try Divinity’s Reach first and get every vista, WP and POI. Then go for Lion’s Arch. If you are still not high enough 100% the other races’ cities.
Each use of a gathering tool also gives more exp than a kill of the same level (ignoring the exploration bonus).
Neutral mobs are also more likely to have a very large exploration bonus. Moas are especially nice since poultry meat sells for a decent amount.
(edited by Khisanth.2948)
In addition, be sure to eat food and use a utility consumable (such as a sharpening stone). Those will give you a stat boost and a boost to monster kill exp.
keep in mind, nearly everything you do in the game gives exp! so explore, resurect, help out, events, gather, …
I think the hood looks best with that outfit. The tricorn is good with longer sweeping coats because of the coachman vibe. I never like any of the nose/mouth covers, but that’s my personal aesthetic.
The hood seems more rangery, somehow, more something you’d wear out in the woods. The tricorn is for more dapper occasions. Again, my personal viewpoint only.

Have your friend answer the account ownership verification questions he was sent today. We can’t make these changes without taking security measures, but we can help once we can establish he owns the account.
So, what are you trying to do with this thread? Has he even filed a ticket?
Frankly, unless you sit over your friends shoulder 24/7, you have no idea if they have proof or not. And in the event they made a mistake, his support ticket will be what fixes it, not your angry thread.
Wow this is really near the borderline.
No. How would another player know it was a joke? All they saw was a website name in map chat that looks like so many other gold selling sites. If the OP’s friend played it up any then the chat logs would look like just another gold seller.
It’s not quite shouting fire in a crowded movie theater but for an MMO where gold sellers end up causing quite the mischief (through account hacking, identity theft, CC fraud), GMs shooting first is an understandable policy.

He needs to contact support and argue his case with them. Those are the only ones who can do anything, one way or another. No one on the forum can.
Top of page-support, then top of page-submit a request.

You are only allowed to give him/her a hard copy (unopened box)since the other way with just the serial key technically is basically account sharing and that’s a bannable offense.
That’s because this key is used for ownership verification if things go wrong with the account.
Coast, I’m sorry but you are wrong.
Nobody owns the account till the serial has been used to make an account! When you give the serial (unused) to someone else and they make the account in their name and email, they are the owner.
This has been posted several time both by forum members and GM’S.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Gifting-GW2-Digital
Besides, the serial isn’t even needed to establish ownership if an account was hacked for example. There are many other way’s.

I’ve done both of those things, Draygo, Astral. In fact, I gave it 5 whole hours. And, once again, I’m using email and password. Also, I have not tied a mobile authenticator to my account, so “tied into using iPads or other tablets” is out of the question already. It’s a right pain, because I don’t really know what it could be.
I’m not talking about a authenticator, but rather some possible bug with iPad’s software. Where people are using an iPad to access the forum and the ‘remember passwords’ software of the iPad is messing up the password on the forum and this causes the login on the game to fail.
It’s not my theory, but something someone else has come up with so I can’t vouch for it. However I’m using an iPad to access the forum and I’m having password problems so it’s maybe a possibility.
When I contacted support they recommended deleting the local dat file and doing a repair.
This is the Emil they sent me:
Repairing the client:
“I would like for you to try repairing your Guild Wars 2 installation:
First,
Hold down the Windows button on the keyboard and hit the “R” key.
Paste in the following line: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2
Click “OK.”
Delete the local.dat file located here.
Next,
Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Repair.”
Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
Edit the “Target” line to include -repair at the end. Note: Please make sure -repair is outside of the quotes -- Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” -repair -- Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe -repair”
Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes. If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try Step 5 again.
Right-click “Guild Wars 2 Repair” and select “Run as Administrator.”
Allow the repair to run and once completed, right-click" “GW2.exe” or your Guild Wars 2 Shortcut and select “Run as Administrator.”
Once completed, please try starting Guild Wars 2 again. Please let us know the results of this test at your earliest convenience.
Double-clicking Guild Wars 2 Repair will begin the repair process. The game will launch when it is complete".
This did work for me for a few weeks, but now it’s started up again.

You offered a product. You let people purchase it. You gave no indication that it was anything other than a permanent purchase, so they legitimately felt safe using or replacing other expensive items to fit the armor to their character. Then you took it away.
To make this fair to every player out there…you would have to go back in time. Sorry, but there is no good way out of this and you won’t convince the community otherwise. Here’s the 4 problems you have, as I see them:
- Some people spent RWM for gems for an armor skin specifically because they liked that skin
- Some of those used a number of other style, dye and transmutation items to match that skin to their character and current armor stats
- Some of those transmuted the skin onto already expensive armor
- One of your designers is either the unluckiest person in MMO history or, and I’m sorry to say much more likely, they decided to plagiarize the T3 Human Cultural armor in order to save time and/or money and merely added a few extra designs to its appearance to match the other Flame armor
Like I stated above, there is no good way out of this. You can ask people to wait to see what the new armor set is going to look like before voicing their opinions further. But even in your best case scenario, where the new set turns out looking fantastic and people either have a choice of getting the new set or getting their gems back, you haven’t actually solved any of the above problems.
Really, the only group that your stated solution solves the problem for are those that like the new armor set, spent gems they already had and/or don’t mind getting a refund in gems for just the armor skins. Everyone else will feel cheated, and rightly so. The only ways out of this are steps I would wager you are unlikely to take:
- Provide all players the option of gem or cash refunds for all gems used to buy the armor skins and refund all items or gold that was used by that player to setup or match the armor
- Reprimand, up to or including dismissal, the designer responsible. After all, this is plagiarism we are talking about. It’s a serious offense. People often lose their jobs in these situations.
CONTINUED IN THE NEXT POST (apparently your character limit of 5001 for posts has a bug you should look into as well, original complete post without this text was 4958 with spaces)

I don’t know if support can help you or not. But you should definitely submit an official ticket so that a rep can give you a definitive answer instead of relying on info given by other players.
Show me a way to turn off this behaviour where it automatically searches based on a few keys and then jumps to another page and I’ll be happy. I can hit the return key myself, thank you very much. This is the most annoying web stunt I’ve seen in years. And I’ve never seen another search function anywhere that works this way.
NO!
