Make it tradable please.. I mean, even legendaries can be traded.

It would be great if ascended gear (e.g. amulets, rings, accessories and back items) were account bound and not soul bound. I feel that this would provide more freedom to the player when they want to try out different builds on their main character as well as on their alternate characters. You can review fan sites, run numbers, etc. all day long to see how different builds would work but it all comes down to how it works for you in-game. By having the freedom to purchase various ascended gear items from the laurel merchant knowing that any character you have created can try them out would create the flexibility in build experimentation that I having been wanting in this game.
Thanks for listening !

Sorry, but orphans burning each other is just in bad taste.
Just make sure to turn them over half way. No one likes half Charr’d orphans.

Sorry, but orphans burning each other is just in bad taste.
Not if you season them properly.
Its just a joke. People really need to lighten up sometimes.
Sorry, but orphans burning each other is just in bad taste.
Only if they’re overcooked.
Sorry, but orphans burning each other is just in bad taste.
that’s actually what Ho Ho Tron says after he collects all the money he needs.
im a chef, and i am making money just fine doing crafting :P
Frankly the drop rates for Dragonite ore (even from the big bosses) and the empyreal fragment rate from chests is my big gripe. I have 4 ascended weapons and it is a real drag. Also too many of these items including the ascended items are account bound.
They know enough who know how to learn – Henry Adams
The only fun thing about crafting is discovery.
Farming materials is tedious and time consuming because of DR. Items you craft aren’t worth anything. And, of course, anything really awesome that you could make would take forever and a small fortune to create.
That only applies to cooking and then the vast piles of intermediates that do not become useful until another 200 levels later kills any chance of having much fun with that.
So your telling me you converted all those scraps, forged at least 1,200 skill points, 6,000 piles of crystaline dust, and a min of 2,400 gossamer scraps on Tuesday b4 the patch hit?
I’m sry I’m just not buying what you are selling. The skill points alone warrant questioning it.
It will settle down in a couple of weeks, its just because so many people want the “in” thing right now, once the first big push is over silk will again become in massive supply for all.
lol that’s pretty funny……
“You don’t need 100 bolts per day.”
“I just bought 900,000 scraps on Tuesday.”And I had zero silk scraps before Tuesday ended because I used them all.
I have to ask. How did you use 900,000 scraps (3600 stacks)? That’s 300,000 bolts(1,200 stacks), enough for 85 sets of light armor if I am not mistaken.
lol that’s pretty funny……

Crafting will never be profitable as long as easy xp is tied to it.
I don’t get why anet still tries to get attention to crafting through ascended, because it is probably one of the most useless parts of the game. Here’s what is wrong with the crafting system:
- It’s cheaper to just buy any items from the trading post than craft those items yourself.
- You don’t earn any benefit from crafting things yourself: you don’t make profit, you don’t get ‘special’ items from chance discoveries etc.
- Materials cost so much that it makes crafting nothing but a huge loss of money.
What should be done about crafting:
- Make it useful: have a chance at crafting a precursor or other special item or getting materials back. Allow us to make extraordinary items that have a use and that are exclusive, yet not necessary (contra ascended crafting, because it costs way too much money).
- Make crafting profitable. I don’t know how it is, but a crafter actually looses money. In any other game I have ever played, the items you made through crafting were more valuable than the raw materials. The only way to achieve this at this point seems to be to nerf material prices and make craftable items equal price as drops.
A problem I think here is that crafting involves making items from 1-80 and most players just buy cheaper versions on the trading post that were dropped from a random mob. Not to mention that nobody actually buys a lot of armour from 1-80 (or buys karma gear from a merchant), basically because the gear is worthless anyways: after 5 levels it becomes redundant. This is basically a problem with the leveling system. Crafting should have been a matter of skills/usage not of stats and levels.

This is a copy-paste of my thread from the Fractured! subforum, since that has now already been archived along with some of the older content updates. I did not find that it ran its course, so here it is again. Seeing that almost every patch, including the current Wintersday brings the usual confusion of “How long does this content last???”, i find that the topic is very relevant, even outside the context of Fractured! itself.
Some people argue that since the achievements mentioned a fortnight! , that makes it obvious that they would be around for two weeks. The fact that Boss Week was around for more than a week makes that point moot for me.

One of the main things I have played for in this game is achievements. I don’t grind dailies or care much about the amount of AP I have. What I care about is actual achievements, of which most have been temporary. And that is okay. Since the Living Story was introduced we have relied on a pattern that achievements were available to do for two patches (~1 month).
I might have missed some information this time, but apparently Fractured! for some unexplainable reason, did not follow this pattern. What I love to have achieved is now gone.
5 hours ago I could say “I have done EVERY living story achievement.” No exception. Every achievement of every release. I carved a load of pumpkins last year at halloween. I murdered those Karka. I beat up Mai Trin flawlessly without getting hit by the cannons. I beat Liadri. I beat her again by throwing 8 orbs at her. I killed 225 dolyaks and 225 sentries to get all 19 WvW achievements. I did 50 merc camps, learning the pattern and timers of the camps. I could go on and on, you get the idea. I was proud, and being able to say “I did everything” was what really kept me going.
This might be my own fault, the info was probably available somewhere. But in any event my achievement hunt is probably over. For me the fun is gone because I will never be able to make the same statement again. But hey, I really want to keep enjoying this game as much as I’ve done so far, so I lose nothing by asking:
Can you please bring back the Fractured! achievements for another 14 days? And for the future, would there be any chance you could add a timer to temporary achievement sets, like you have with dailies, to show us how long we have left?

Edit: Attached a picture of my accomplishments to visualize how a simple achievement can result in a bad day.

I agree Arena.net really needs to stop the stealth updates. This is simply a QC issue then maybe its time to replace the guy/gal who does QC. At this point its kinda obvious that there not doing there job.
I’m guessing most replys on this thread are for people who play a lot. I’m lucky if I have enough time to do my dailies. I get time to play normally three times a week for 2 hours at most. So at most 6 hours a week dew to work and real life. The gold sinks are a pain for me. I find it hard to gather the gold needed to buy the extra mats I need ect for crafting buying items that I need. I know how important they are but some are silly. Like the cost for using one to Rez. It would work like it did in guild wars. You Rez at the closest one to you/found. The damage to your armour can also be costly during world bosses with out the way point Rez costs. But that’s just me.
What are you crafting that you can’t get cheaper another way? If it’s weapons and armor you could use what you get as drops, or buy from karma vendors. Also a lot of people craft to level up (or so they can start crafting ascended) and will sell things they make at a loss just to get rid of them so it may well be cheaper to buy the finished product than to buy the materials and make it.
Also if you’re only playing 6 hours a week, mainly doing your dailies, and dying often enough to world bosses that the repair costs are a serious problem for you then I’d suggest you need to work on your dodging and/or general positioning during the fights. Aside from Tequatl they all have fairly simple and predictable mechanics so you shouldn’t really be dying more than once or twice in an encounter (less if there’s a lot of people doing it) and the reward you get for beating the boss should more than cover the repair costs.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Back in my day, players from many mmos got sick of the stat gear grind and gw2 promised not to have that. People tend to forget that this was one of main reasons they bought gw2 (including me). Back in the old days, you could dress in full exotics with medium effort and play with different stat combinations & builds, and that was a big part of fun in the game.
Then ascended rings came. Then ascended weapons. And now ascended armor. Also time gating on all of these. And the stats combined from every ascended slot now make a huge difference compared to exotics.
So no, I will not appreciate ascended armor. And I never heard someone say ‘’Oh it is so much fun being in front of a crafting station’’ or ‘’I can’t wait the day they introduce ascended armor’’
The way this game is set up is rediculous:
1. You charge us to go to a WP, which is just stupid.
2. You charge us to list our stuff on the TP, another stupid idea.
3. Whenever we do find a way to make money you guys nerf it by stopping it or way lowering the drops we get.
4. Donate to Winterdays to get part of the achievements, is outragous. This is suppose to be a game that is fun and you doing all the above is not making it fun. Why are you guys constantly looking for ways to take the money we spend hours trying to get? Where does the money really go? into thin air as the NPC’s are not real people, WP, TP and Winterdays Donation do nothing but STEAL FROM US.
We spend grinding hours of trying make money or get items which is getting to the point of NOT FUN. NOT FUN GET IT????
It’s a gold sink. If gold isn’t removed from the economy, the result is inflation, where currency rapidly becomes worth less over time. Implementing trivial gold sinks in unobtrusive places is fairly standard practice for most healthy online fake currency economies. You’d have a lot more to complain about if inflation became a significant problem.
As for the Wintersday achievement, just do a couple of extra dailies instead if you don’t want to drop the silver/gold. No biggie.
They are gold sinks, and absolutely necessary for a healthy in-game economy.
bers and assassins get 1% increase? which pieces? because chest certanly didn’t
Legs. They now have the same crit % as Celestial.
Necromancer with dire is pretty good from what I had heard,
The only thing you can do is file a ticket with support, as for whether they would refund you the gold/laruels is up in the air.
Before talking about character progression, horizontal or vertical, I think it would be necessary to have a word on Anet view about progression reset.
With the Fractured patch, many players saw their progression (fractal level) resetted to 30, without any kind of compensation for that loss.
Many threads were opened on the forums to talk about it. The first few got deleted, even some pretty big threads, like this one:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Fractal-personal-level-reset/
Another was locked here (over 850 posts):
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Fractal-levels-above-30-to-be-reset/first
And finally the last one active is this one (over 1000 posts):
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/fractured/Merged-Fractal-level-reset-is-equity-wiped-Discuss/first
Over 2000-2500 posts were made, without any concrete answer from Anet. The only answer we got, 3 weeks ago, from a community coordinator, is that “the Developers are reading these posts and we are gathering feedback.” But not a word from those developers since.
Of course, in those 2000 posts, some were quite vindicative, especially after seeing we were completely ignored, but quite a few were also constructive, like this one from Abramelin:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Fractal-levels-above-30-to-be-reset/page/15#post3236535
So, before talking about progression, let’s talk about progression reset. Because if Anet consider it’s okay to reset a player progression without any form of compensation, why talk about progression anyway, it can be reseted at any time…
If you want to craft the whole ascended light armor you will need 43 silk scrap ! yes 43 stacks !
It’s totally crazy …..
why such an amount ? bolt of damask requires 100 bolt of silk (deldrimor and the others components only require 50) and bolt of silk requires 3 silk scrap (2 for others components) …….
Price of silk will inevitably increase ….
11 days more to craft a light armor, crazy huge amount of materails …. do Anet want us to kill our caster character and reroll warriors ? I can’t understand …..
I tell you right now you ungrateful little brats, back in the day we couldn’t just grab us a roll of cloth and smear some blood on it and call it ascended or infused or whatever you dang kids are calling it these days. We had to do it like MEN! We stormed up a mountain in the middle of winter carrying the gear we wanted to infuse with us just to talk to some old hag so ugly she’d make your eyes puke, only to have her direct us to some vile, nasty beast we had to kill, slice open and carefully remove some despicable organ full of some reeking goo and carry it back to the hag so she could smear it on our gear while we stood around in the bone chilling cold waiting, then wear that stinking gear back to town while it dried! Half the time half the party would wind up half dead, and the other half wholly half dead! We did it like MEN and were proud of it! You brats have it easy these days! Now git off my lawn! I’m going to take a nap and expect QUIET!
