I loved it. However, my only complains: Crabtacular achievement and Sclerite Weapon Ticked droprate.
Crabtacular achievement. This is based on luck and hope that no one wants to grief. Really, if someone joins a game he could play in such a way that it will guarantee no crabtacular achievement for anyone in that round. An achievement for something that any player could work against is not fun.
Sclerite weapon ticket. Same deal like Fused weapon ticket. RNG and tradeable would be ok(just like Halloween). No RNG and gemstore would aslo be ok(like gemstore winter skins). RNG and accountbound = no fun at all. If I get a ticket and don’t want it is totally useless for me for being accountbound. If I want a ticket and can’t get it there is no other option for me but just keep trying more and more RNG. I can’t just save money and buy one from another player or from gemstore.

Tybaldt was awesome. He stood out because he was a very likeable character and in a way unpredictable. Trahearne’s character is just flat out boring and that emotionless voice? Come on Anet.
Just a few from WoW:
Sylvannas Windrunner – Battle of the Undercity where she literally jumped everywhere and rained death upon her enemies who dared invade her home with arrows. Holy respect!
Saurfang/Broxigar – Battle prowess, honor, glory and so much rage. So awesome.
Trahearne – Leader of the Pact. Flat voice, armed with a greatsword that hits like a noodle. Many hold him in high regard. What? Really!?
Trahearne was a valueable asset to the pact. yes he may be a bit lacking right now but i believe that this character may be able to develop over future content. there are still 4 more elder dragons out there. but i can see Trahearne’s usefulness comming to an end because we was only an expert on Orr and Zhaitan. so mabey something tragic may happen to him or a different character may take charge of the pact. who knows. but i still believe his character can develop throughout the series. i also think that destiny’s edge should have more involvcement with the personal story instead of just showing up in dungeons. they got the band back together now lets see them in action in our personal stories.
You can solo it.
Successfully?
Post the vid, would love to see it…
Edit: This would include the initial run through dungeon TO the story section.
Actually it is impossible to solo arah story mode.
The reason is that you have those two pressure plates at the beginning. Both have to be used on the same time. So it isn’t possible solo.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Norn don’t really have infamy, which signifies ill-gotten or unwanted fame. Rather their virtue is legend. In A Spirit of Legend, Grimhilde had a legend by other norn. It didn’t matter that her legend was based on “evil” deeds because as far as the other norn cared, she was embodying norn virtues.
http://www.killtenrats.com/2011/03/18/gw2-pax-chat-with-jeff-grubb/
Biggest example okittenslaying in game… Jora and Svanir.
Svanir became dragon corrupted and went on a rampage killing norn all over. Jora knew it was her duty, as his sister, to stop him. She got our help to track him down and she slew him. The Norn actually look on this legend as exceptional.
Kinslayer usually means killing one’s family… I don’t know that it has ever been addressed in Guild Wars, but I imagine it’d be similar to modern feelings on the subject- a particularly treacherous and deceitful murder, unless the relative had done something truly monstrous and needed to be stopped (see Jora and Svanir.)
EDIT: The charr gladium storyline can also pit you against your sire. He was sentenced to execution by arena combat for disobedience, theft, and desertion, and should your character choose to carry out the sentence it is considered respectful and honorable.
(edited by Aaron Ansari.1604)
If you mean killing your own race, then dude.. killing is against the law if you just go rampage. However, in a war situation, like charr legions vs flame legion charrs, it isn’t.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
I also recall Kasmeer calling Jory a ‘he’ in her updated, LSaSs dialogue.
Btw, anyone else noticing these Spanish/Latin American humans are slowly invading Tyria? First Doern Velazquez now Marjory Delaqua. Maybe the Tyrian “America” to the west is a bustling, prospering place and they have a plot in mind to take over Tyria and make humanity as grand as it was before Guild Wars 1 – or better: before the Exodus.
A fantasy of sci-fi cyborg implants grafted into the desiccated flesh of Guild Wars’ corpse.
_ Lady Kasmeer Meade: Business and pleasure. I’m fact-finding for Jory, and I heard this was a one-of-a-kind resort. _
SOURCE: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lady_Kasmeer_Meade
And then today :
_A new person of interest, the mysterious Marjory Delaqua, will also be showing up for the festival. _
SOURCE: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/dragon-bashers-welcome/
I knew ever since I listened to that dialogue during SSC LS that this Jory was a nickname of someone important. It is likely that the person who sent Kasmeer to SSC is in fact this Mar"jory" Delaqua.
Thoughts?
Hey Colin, I’ve been wondering. Whatever happened to making the living world as awesome as possible insofar as dungeons are concerned within the year of 2013? We’ve seen an AC update at the beginning of the year, but with Rob Hrouda taken off of dungeons to work on the living story, dungeons have been abandoned for quite awhile. Will we still see that update? And furthermore, will it be sooner rather than later? I’d hate to not see anything until December, and currently there are more dungeons remaining to be updated than there are months left in the year.
I’m quite happy with the amount of updates in GW2, but I wish more of it was permanent.
We’ve been playing around so far this year with a lot of different concepts to see what works for a living world game, and see what players liked and didn’t like. Based on all of your feedback, you’ll be seeing a greater degree of permanent content built into future living world releases in 2013. And of course, some things you’ve seen before may return again, in its current form but updated like SAB or holiday festivals, or in a new form entirely….
We’ve got a few more updates coming more along the lines of what we’ve done so far in the vein of holiday festivals, but as the year progresses we’re going to layer more permanent changes and content as well with each living world release. I’ll toss a blog post up in a couple of weeks that outlines high level, where we’re taking our living world style updates specifically in the future for more clear transparency once we’ve got it all ironed out.
As always all of your feedback and comments are greatly appreciated, we’ll continue to adapt and grow this strategy and concept as we go. As we’ve said before, we’re trying something very new and different here, and in some ways we’re learning along with all of you how we make a living world style game work.
Took me about 10 min to notice they nerfed drops @ Southsun Cove after their last Queen update. Pathetic.
I don’t know…might be just your RNG for the day. Farmed for like 25m the day of the update and pretty well.
I haven’t read past this post, but I’m willing to bet they did argue against it.
Edit: I agree with you, it’s a perfectly reasonable explanation. But I’m willing to bet it will be lost on those who just want to complain.
Yeaah, its lost on me, man. I know you and Vayne are right though. I know people like me are just being whiney. I know that you got the right arguments. My brain knows it, but my heart feels differently.
Any of it doesn’t change the fact that I’d rather be here posting on these forums right now instead of being inside the game. You gotta acknowledge that.
Thanks for this. Reasonable explanations like this are sort of what’s missing from the dialogue between Anet and the fans. I don’t know too many people who could argue against this.

He’s talking about southsun champ instigators.
The latest case of “farming nerfs” was actually a bug fix. I’m aware of this because I was asked to help identify the issue. The area in question contained a spawn that was defined to have more creatures than spots for those creatures to spawn. So for example, 25 skelks spawning on 10 points. This is not intended. Not only does it just look absurd, it’s also leads to some extremely bizarre play conditions. This is one of those bugs that’s so buggy, the fact that our toolset even allowed this to happen is a bug. Another bug caused this bug. Bugception.
If we didn’t want players to be able to farm, we wouldn’t have put in the huge (and free) magic and gold find buffs for Southsun Cove. We wouldn’t drop loot from the giant mobs of creatures that appear in upscaled events. We certainly wouldn’t have put in chests that appear after events which cycle every 8 to 10 minutes. How quickly all of that content goes completely forgotten in the angered responses to a simple change to an area that was clearly bugged. :/
On farming in general, there’s a sweet spot that combines good loot with fun, engaging content. I think Southsun had that going for it, especially before certain aspects of the content were isolated as optimal. As someone who’s actively working on upcoming Living World releases, I’m aiming to find that sweet spot and hit it in a big way.
Perfect reply. I saw the skelk area before the fix and it was broken. It’s still a nice area and there’s just the right amount of skelks.
You sir are awesome and I’ve found my own personal sweet spot and quite have a lot of fun there! (and it’s not the skelk area)
P.S. I miss the ’Gator train. But it was fun while it lasted and Thank you for providing us with it!

2 things:
-bugfixes and farm nerfs are separate issues imo. for example, union/malchor events getting stalled on purpose by players for farm endless mobs wave is something that HAD to be fixed. It’s obvious.
The issue is when something who has been treated as “correct” farming income for months, namely the tunnel event farming in CS, gets arbitrarly butchered for no apparent reason… aside pushing more ppl to southsun. This is something that shoudln’t happen, because after southsun won’t be anymore the flavour of the month, i’m sure the CS nerf will stay, and i guess your economist can easily tell you what this means…
because (leads to point 2)
-the moaning about farming getting nerfed is manly due to recent T6 (in general) and Dust (in particular) prices rising. Which has much much wider consequences than simple “ppl stop farming there, go in southsun or cof”.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
Yes, i use 5 chars at time. Because REASONS.

Citizens! Coming soon, the newest and most unique resort destination in all of Tyria! Brought to you by the guild Mist Angels: BABY FRACTALS! The best initiation for the novice explorer to understand the various dangers of Tyria’s Dungeons, Facilities, and other ruins infested by Villains!
Mist Angels most accomplished adventurers will escort you along your journey, making sure that your training will go smoothly, and you return safely to Lion’s Arch!
>>> Trailer on YOUTUBE
Concept:
Baby Fractals is an initiation to Fractals for new and inexperienced players in GW2, regardless of level. Each group will be lead by an experienced player from Mist Angels. The guide will have the mission to let new players discover the Fractals and to help guarantee a smooth run adapted to its group.
The reasons why Baby Fractal is great for new players:
By having organised for our guild members several Baby Fractal events, we have discovered that it was a great PVE experience for new players. The level scaling allows everyone to group together no matter their character level, while a Fractal 1 or 2 is forgiving enough for badly geared character and low experience. The difficulty is perfect for a new group.
Fractals are generally short, as well as varied, in both atmosphere and gameplay, proposing fun fight mechanics. It’s the ideal Dungeon to show to a new player how PVE in GW2 can be fun. In addition, rewards are very good for a levelling character that will suddenly find several green items of his level.
Mist Angels will provide:
• Experienced players that will lead each group, assuring that the experience will be as pleasant as possible.
• Teamspeak channel for each group for easier communication.
• Food and Potions
Information:
FRIDAY 7th June 21h (Paris time)
• Level recommended: Approximately level 15, with close to level 15 gear is recommended.
• Server: Piken Square Eu
• Place: Gendarran Fields, in front of Lion’s Arch gates
• Time: Gathering at 21h, formation of groups
• Event start: Approximately 21h30 (Paris Time)
• Event stop: after 1 or 2 Fractals runs, depending of groups.
• Team Speak: information will be given privately. Microphone is not required.

I just heard news that Cantha might not ever be making its way back into GW2 as an unnamed artist for Anet has said: "NCsoft was firm in its decision to stay away from “Asian” themes and keep it “universal.” ArenaNet had to make adjustments quickly. A small number of you may recall that the human story was originally split by Canthans/Elonians/Ascalonians instead of the current Streets/Commoner/Noble paths. Divinity’s Reach originally had sections dedicated to the three cultures as well (Ossan Quarters & Rurikton are the current “versions” perhaps?) ArenaNet obeyed NCsoft’s suggestion and halted all Canthan productions, including the once-existing Canthan sector of Divinity’s Reach…. Because of time restrictions, they had to erase the Canthan sector of DR quickly. The current result is “The Great Collapse.” It’s an inside joke now, she says. The “Collapse” symbolizes what was once an idea that didn’t make it all the way. She further states that ArenaNet had to come up with some new lore to cover up the lack of Canthan content — hence the Emperor’s decree (read lore on Wiki). That’s all I have."
Regardless if this true or not, it is ridiculous. The game world is made universal because it has more than one type/race of human. In GW1 I saw it like this:
Kryta= Greece, Ascalon =European, Istan and Kourna= African, Vabbi and Orr= Arabic and lastly Cantha represented Asia, mostly China/Japan/Korea. That universal diversity is what made Guild Wars such a compelling game. By trying to represent most cultures, you created something universal. I think it is a huge mistake that NCsoft think that universal should mean some sort of one ‘common race’, that because of sexual mingling has come about. That being the only way for it to come about… It is unbelievable to think that entire continent can be erased from a game for the sake of PR.
Cantha and Factions had some of the very best concepts about it in terms of map design and cultural lore. From The training Island to the main land the entire game was beautiful, and the giant city, felt like a giant city. I have actually gotten myself lost in it many times. In fact for quite a lot of people I know, Factions is what got them playing GW in the first place… I know that doesn’t count for much but still.
But what I am most annoyed about, is that you guys (anet) have always been ‘we talk to our player-base’ If this about Cantha is true, then surely this is something we need to talk about. As this is no small thing, it is an entire section of lore and some of your best work going down the drain for no real good reason. Even if this is a thing set in stone, I think it is unfair that the player-base’s opinions go left unheard. It could even be possible that if NCsoft realise how much we love that part of the game, they might change their minds. After the whole Mass effect thing, I think anything is possible with enough voices.
Anyway I just thought I should say something and hopefully people agree and that we can rescue Cathan from the ideas bin.

Im sure the new instance will be the “supersecret” new door you can see from the Priory outpost in Snowden Drifts.
They added a WP there.
AN added new WP near Jumping Puzzle of Guild Mission. So I dont think so, this will be new dungeon, but if… I’ll be very happy.
Let’s hope for more info soon.
Guessing new dungeon
Delayed content is eventually good. Rushed content is eternally bad. ~ Shigeru Miyamoto
Glad that people like these. We’ll do more in the future, perhaps.
I kinda like these cut-scene. It gave me some memories to Guild Wars 1. I hope they will do these more often.
Even though I did not play GW1, I still checked out the cutscenes and wow, it was amazing. It’s a good ArenaNet brought it back to GW2
So in GW1 most of the story content was acted out with cut scenes. This was a really powerful tool that helped deliver a much better story. It’s great to see they have brought it back for Flame and Frost, replacing the old close-up dialogue screen. I like this so much better (although hopefully they become better as doing it, they could have done much better than they did – they are light years away from the quality that WoW puts out, even GW1 does better). How do you feel about the change from dialogue screens to acted out cut scenes?
So many references to classic 80’sand 90’s games are sprinkled all over the SAB. Here are a few that I’ve found.
-Fairly obvious, but the Wagon Smashing bonus game is clearly inspired by the Car Crusher mini-Game from Final Fight/ Street Fighter. The dwarf (?) stepping out and saying “Aww, my wagon!” Was a dead giveaway.
-The map screen that pops up between levels looks eerily like the one from Golden Axe.
-The whole of adventure mode has clear inspirations from Zelda.
-The whip is based on the one in castlevania. It even has a near identical animation.
-Ninjas throwing stars and charging at you with swords on a narrow bridge with gravity defying gaps? Sounds like Ninja Gaiden/Revenge of shinobi to me. (FYI it’s Ninja GUY-DEN, not GAY-DEN. And you must say GAI-DEN like that dude from The Wizard or it doesn’t count.)
-Several sound effects sound like the came right out of an atari 2600 game. I would not be surprised if ANet sampled an atari game or two.
-Speaking of sound effects, does that sound the NPC’s make when speaking seem familiar to you? You probably played a few SNES RPGs as a kid. In fact, that EXACT sound is used for menu navigation in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. (Relax, it’s probably public domain.)
