The Nameless Lich seems to have been a dropped plotline- iirc, one of the devs said she’d be playing a role in the future, but that was before they stopped making new content for GW1.
EDIT: “It’s safe to say you’ll be seeing [the Lunatic Court] again – as well as that lich.” http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/11/11/costume-design-and-hints-of-whats-to-come-massivelys-intervie/
That was just after Halloween 2010, and while the Lunatic Court stuff was followed up on in ’11 and ’12, the lich played no further role before the end of GW1 updates was announced in May 2013.

In one of the later GW1 halloween events they had (IIRC) a “Mysterious Lich” show up in Drok’s forge and hang out there.
Was wondering if anybody had seen anything I may have missed :O.
We had the feature patch extremely recently and Arenanet have been hard at work getting GW2 launched in China.
Not to mention they haven’t been silent, there are plenty of dev posts on the forums over the past couple of days. Stop making mountains out of mole hills. Yes big things are coming, but dont expect them super soon.
I agree to a certain extent.
While I don’t mind temporary content – since I think they Work well from a story-telling perspective – they should always bring something permanent to the game that isn’t just skins.
For example:
I wouldn’t mind another Molten Facility type of dungeon, where it ends up being shut Down or destroyed as the players complete it.
However it would be nice if new weapons or skills were introduced with it. So while the area itself is temporary, we will now permanentl have, trait skills, new abilities and gameplay mechanics always Associated with that patch.
On a more permanent note – I would like to see 1-2 new permanent dungeons and of course new zones – complete with Vistas, Waypoints and Renown Hearts.
If Mordremoth is hiding somewhere in the Maguuma Wastes for example, I would love to see a Living Story patch once per 1-2 months – but a new zone is permanently added to the game in that area each subsequent time.

Whole new map in WvW.
Rework of borderlands.
New skills.
Several new PvP-maps.
New dungeon(s).
New reward systems.
New world-bosses.
Etc.
Should I go on? All these things are permanent changes. Then add the massive amount of temporary things added and we have a rather large amount of new stuff.

Oh, that’s quite interesting, because I have played GW1 since about 6 months after Prophecies was released, and I can still see the fact that quite a few things have changed since release of GW2.
Just because you don’t like something being added or changed doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Claiming that is just silly.
GW1 had a rather generic story at times and back then we had almost as much complaints about the story as we currently have about GW2s story.
Fighting mechanics in GW2 is factually better than GW1. As for story-telling and story-meaning that is rather much personal opinion, don’t you think? I recall quite many people having rather major issues with adding Abby as the big bad evil behind everything evil that happened in Prophecies and Factions when Nightfall was released.

Lets not speak for everyone shall we?
Sure there are issues with the Living World, but there are issues with expansion based content as well.
Personally I prefer getting content more often in smaller chunks than having to wait half a year to get content that will be completed within a week or two.
Claiming that the Living World brings no real permanent content to the table is also a blatant lie (why have we gotten loads of these posts saying more or less the exact same thing and being proven wrong lately? Did the savior ESO fail and thus those people came back here to complain a bit more?).

Earthquakes are a common act in the game, related to various events. In Bloodtide, for example, there is an event chain within the Flooded Castavall about an earthquake unearthing a powerful risen (and artifacts though we never see them), and said earthquake does shake nearby areas.
I’m pretty sure I a Southsun quake before too, near the hive. One at the Maw during the event too, I think (shaking caused by the “blizzard”). So I don’t think any of these are new.
This said though, I would be disappointed if there weren’t a massive world map changing event. Even if we don’t see it in explorable areas, we should see some changes to the world map, IMO.

…actually, I haven’t, not yet, but it seems quite a few people over on Reddit did.
Given the ending of Scarlet’s story, I would have thought this sort of activity would be confined to the Maguuma area. However, perhaps the Breachmaker made a much larger breach than expected.
Has anyone experienced this while mapping, exploring, or simply running through the jungle?

In Guild Wars Prophecies near Lion’s Arch, there was a disturbance that resembled a tremor that resulted in a hole in the ground and the beginning of Guild Wars: Eye of the North and the arrival of a new foe known as the Destroyers. There may be no connection. But I felt like I should mention it.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
OP is not imagining this. A lot of people have pointed out this happening in areas where there is no external cause. There was a discussion about it a while back, it might have been in the lore forum but I don’t recall.
Some bosses when they spawn and when you fight them cause the earth to shake. Claw of jormag crashing for one. unless you where in magguma jungle I wouldn’t attach it to Mordy. It happens quite frequently unless it had a really long duration 5mins or more i wouldn’t think it was that out of the ordinary.
While adventuring in certain maps there are now noticeable periodic unusual earth tremors and the appearance of risens or other foes. This had me started thinking. As each elder dragon awoke each had cause land mass disturbances in their own individual way. Now that Mordremoth has awaken are the recent earth tremors and hostile pop ups attributable to Mordy? If the earth tremors are attributable to Mordy, is this an indication that Living Story season 2 would start earlier than people had anticipated?
Although this post may duplicate some information shared above, I want to post it here because it contains vital information related to account compromise incidents and e-mail accounts:
Account and E-mail Compromise Incidents
We are finding that nearly every time a game account is compromised, the e-mail account is also compromised. Many times, hackers are clever enough to mask their access to the e-mail account, rendering that illicit access invisible to the user. That is, the legitimate e-mail account holder is not even aware that the e-mail account is being accessed by a hacker.
But although we often are told “My e-mail is secure” we also frequently note that the account hacker has deleted authentication authorization requests related to the hacking location, or has deleted e-mailed receipts. The hacker hides his access by removing auth e-mails and steals the serial code and/or order number and deletes it so the legitimate owner no longer can find that vital info.
You can see this yourself when you read forum threads and the player says, “I cannot locate my receipt e-mail” or “I must have deleted my receipt.” Actually, in most cases that statement points to the e-mail account having been hacked, with the various “proofs of ownership” now being solely in the hands of the hacker (after being deleted so the owner can’t get to them). And, sadly, you see this when someone states “The only authentication e-mails are my own access points” but one or more additional authorization requests were sent but were deleted by the hacker.
Basically, even if someone believes his/her e-mail is secure, a hacker very often is in the account and is intercepting mails or authorizing access to the stolen account.
Specific questions to ask if your GW2 account has been compromised:
- Do you have e-mail or mobile authentication? Great!
- Are you using or have you every used your GW2 password anywhere else? That’s a recipe for disaster.
- Are you using a unique e-mail account for GW2 only? That’s a very good idea.
- Have you reset your e-mail password recently?
- Do you have authentication on your e-mail account, where it verifies access to your e-mail account through a mobile device or an alternate e-mail account?
We will help you with your compromised account but if you were hacked after installing e-mail authentication, the consensus is that someone has access to your GW2 account credentials and your e-mail account.

Rytlock’s sword is the authentic Sohothin.
If you do Ascalon Story Mode, Rytlock accompanies you, and in a cutscene, King Adleburn senses Sohothin’s presence, mistaking him for Rurik. If Rytlock’s sword was one of the many fakes, Adleburn wouldn’t have sensed it.
On a side note, while in the dungeon, Eir retrieves Magdaer from Adleburn, but its broken, so she says she’ll take it to a blacksmith to repair it. So some random blacksmith has Magdaer now.
While in GW1 they looked like any other Fiery Dragon Sword, in GW2 they have unique models, I believe. Rytlock’s sword looks like the original GW1 model while the Fiery Dragon Swords are more detailed and rough; Magdaer has two versions, the one wielded by Adelbern look uses the Jormag’s Breath model (or something very similar to such), while the physical Magdaer looking WAY different – looking like a Dragon’s Deep FDS-styled weapon (which I wish that model of Magdaer was available “Breath of the Dragon’s Deep” or “Zhaitan’s Breath” or something :I).

The king could’ve forced Rurik to leave it behind when he left Ascalon for Kryta.
Something like “I disown you, you aren’t worthy of that blade!” or something.
Or, after the ring of fire incident it washed up on the shore somewhere, and later Rytlock came into ownership of it.
I could also buy the heroes running past Rurik’s body on their way out of the volcano and picking it up to preserve it <_<.
Unanswered, but Logan claims Rytlock looted it from Ascalon.
Knowing that there are many Ascalonian-made Fiery Dragon Swords made in the design of Sohothin and Magdaer, it wouldn’t be surprising if the sword we saw Rurik wield after Nolani Academy mission was not Sohothin but one of the dups for xyz reason. Given that the names and uniqueness to the swords of Rurik and Adelbern weren’t shown until the pre-GW2 lore articles, it wouldn’t be surprising.

As the sword was last seen on the ring of fire, when the animated Rurik was slain.
We don’t know that was a druid in the trailer, to be honest. It’s hard to differentiate between a treant and a druid, since they hold the same appearance. The difference is that druids were Krytan humans who became treant-like.
Sylvari have a connection to mosshearts as they often tame mosshearts to be their pack carriers. Interestingly, there’s also events around Pinesouls with sylvari trying to protect said Pinesouls.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
But the druids were humans. Krytans, specifically.
Honestly, I think people overlook any plausibility this skill holds (while making it sensible) just to jump to the “sylvari are dragon minions!” hypothesis.

Huh, that is a compelling piece of data. Perhaps the Sylvari were liberated from the dragon through the magic of the druids?
It was 1325 AE when the game launched, 1327 AE is the present day, the awakening of Mordy
Son of Elonia.
Personal story 1325 a.E.
living story part I 1326 a.E. (1326 to early 1327)
today 1327
IIRC, wasn’t that plaque datamined and found as a cool reference to players?
I don’t recall it ever actually being placed ingame yet.
Well, according to wiki timeline, 1325 is personal story and the very begining of the living story. 1327 is when she attacks LA (I think all the events after that one break, so Marionette on IIRC.)
So if Battle of LA, in canon takes place early 1327, one could say it’s only been a year since she first appeared at the Jubilee.
It’s stated in the personal story (lvl 30 human) that Logan and Jennah cannot be “officially” together because regardless of his stature, Logan is not nobility. Their love is real and mutual, so there’s no reason for her to spurn him out of feelings and there’s no reason for her to go after others except for the whole “avoid the wrath/propaganda of the Ministry” (aka why she cannot date/marry Logan). But even if she chooses the political soothing route of marrying Caudecus (a widower and probably old enough to be her father by the looks of it, given that Demni is about Jennah’s age in appearance), that doesn’t avoid the biggest issue: the corrupt Ministry regaining power.
She needs to eliminate the power players of the Ministery (which was only able to get so much power that they became corrupt due to Jennah’s youth when her father died) before she can marry, otherwise Caudecus will use whomever she marries as a weapon for why she’s not fit for leadership.

I would take zone events happening continuously with a grain of salt, really. While most are done in a way to act like they’re repeatable, not all are, and Arah is pretty much the last thing chronologically prior to the LW stuff.
