It is per character per day, and resets with the daily. Tested this with my alt.
Chests are linked directly to daily reset, the reset same time as daily achivement etc.
For each boss, it’s one chest per character per day so people have no reason to go elsewhere to kill the boss again.
IMO, it’s maybe your server which is over-populated during such events.
It would help developers parse through the hundreds of threads of posts worth of feedback if people would use descriptive, concise thread titles. Thread titles consisting of half sentences (i.e. “I think that…”) or titles that are too vague (i.e. “Skills”) are really not helpful. Those sorts of titles give no indication of what a thread is about, so most readers will simply skip them.

I ask because in your current “Guild Mission” iteration, they’d be excluded from the content. The influence cost is prohibitive and the missions themselves are balanced around large amounts of players.
I find it amusing, considering such a large portion of storyline and lore is based around this five member guild.
I suppose I’m just annoyed as I haven’t really had any content added for my small guild since Wintersday(2 months and counting) other than some quickly completed “Living Story” achievements that looked like they took a whole day of coding. Oh, and I get 1 laurel a day in addition to my flask and coin.
I enjoy this game, please give me a reason to continue playing it.

I’ve honestly run out of patience with this game now, Rangers were promised fixes months ago after it was admitted that we have many glaring problems with our class that make us “sub par” and “lackluster”. We have had absolutely nothing since then, no fixes, not even a response or acknowledgement from ANet about anything ranger related.
- Over 50% of our weapon choices and skills are useless, mediocre or bugged.
- Same goes for our trait lines but make that percentage about 70%
- Yes we can achieve good DPS with a pet but when everything in dungeons kills them in 2 hits we are basically guaranteed to have low DPS and low support (useless skills). Don’t tell me I have to trait for the pet or manage it better, if I’m stuck with a pet it kitten well better be useful (even untraited) if I have no choice other than use it or lose half my DPS. How can you not address this? It’s been too long, it is a core component of the ranger???
What I’m asking for is at least an acknowledgement to these problems or some kind of time-frame with how long this will take to fix if it ever will be. Myself, and the rest of the ranger community, are tired of waiting, tired of hearing NOTHING about our completely broken class, and I for one would appreciate knowing whether or not I am wasting my time playing my ranger if it will never be fixed. It has been 6 months…… at least tell us something.
I’d say they prefer wielding the stick over the carrot, but as all I ever see is the stick I doubt they even know how to use the carrot.
Arenanet, when are you going to stop punishing me for repeating content I like?
Having DR remove 95% of what rewards I was getting most of the time wasn’t enough for you?
Is this sadistic tendency really that much of a turn on for you guys?
Stop nerfing things in a petty and mindless attempt to force me to play the game how you want it played.
I would threaten to stop recommending the game to people, but that doesn’t really work, since as of this patch (and heavily based on this particular nerf) I’ve started actively telling people to avoid it, as I know they’ll hate it and the least I can do for my friends is save them the $60 and loads of grief this game is turning out to be.
Idiots.
There is absolutely no evidence to support that it would.” -AnthonyOrdon
Are you serious?
Dailies are now “Pick any 5” instead of “Do exactly these 5.”
They’re less difficult now and more flexible.
To me, if a build wasn’t viable without temporary buffs then it wasn’t really a viable build in the first place.
10 people is a very good size for a Tier 1 bounty mission.
Would be fantastic if you didn’t cram it behind the Art of War 5 wall that only concentrates on pvp….
when you are rich or powerful it is called being eccentric. Calling a person without shoes names loses its appeal when you wind up in the dungeon.
Lets see if I can quickly summarize this thread:
Doom Bringer: THIS GAME IS DYING, LEAVE NOW!!!!
Normal Player: What makes you say that? I think it’s actually increasing in population.
Doom Bringer: I stood facing a rock in the least populated zone for 30 seconds and didn’t see a single player! DOOM!!!!!
Normal Player: But that’s just your personal experience, have anything to back up your claim?
Doom Bringer: YES, the servers are all dying, anyone with eyes can see that!
Normal Player: Well actually if you look at them right now they are almost all full or very heavy.
Doom Bringer: Well duh that’s cause Anet lowered all the populations and removed servers.
Normal player: Well actually they have increased populations of servers and added servers since launch.
Doom Bringer: Doesn’t matter, just look at the Xfire data it shows this game is DOOMED!!!
Normal Player: Well actually the Xfire data shows that the game is at a stable healthy population with even a possible growth.
Doom Bringer: Doesn’t matter, Xfire isn’t an accurate source, plus Anet hasn’t said the game is doing well so that means it’s failing!
Normal Player: Actually the devs said that the game has been growing for the last 6 weeks in a row.
Doom Bringer: Doesn’t matter, Anet lies, they lie about everything, it means that the opposite is true! DOOOMMMM!!!!
Normal Player: I think it is illegal for them to lie about something like that.
Doom Bringer: Doesn’t matter, they are lying anyway. Plus the game is on sale, that means it is failing.
Normal Player? Umm how does that follow exactly?
Doom Bringer: See, TERA, Rift and SWTOR never went on sale so that means if GW2 did then it is failing.
Normal Player: Well actually all 3 of those examples did go on sale for much cheaper then GW2 did…
Doom Bringer: HA! Those 3 games are all failures, the fact that you used them to compare to GW2 means the game is FAILING!!!!
Normal Player: But… YOU brought up those 3 games, not me???
Doom Bringer: DOOOOMMMM!!!! FAIIIILLLL!!!! DOOOM!!!!!
The great thing about today’s MMO market is, that you have plenty of options. There are games where you can gank and grief your heart out. If that’s what you’re looking for, go play one of these.
The community in all of them is abysmal, but that comes with the territory.
crazy people are crazy, some of them also play games.
And once again they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Just once I would like them to release a big patch that doesn’t disappoint at the last minute. Can you image what being married to Anet would be like. “Next week I am going to make you your favourite, an extra hot Chilli!”… and when the day arrives, “oh, by they way it’s vegetarian”
Ah well, maybe they just like writing the “we are sorry, in retrospect it was a mistake” blog posts.
After reading reports in the loot issues thread, we spent more time investigating our rewards system. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, we verified that all loot tables are indeed working correctly in the game. Since then, we continued receiving reports that there seemed to be an issue, so we extended our search to all systems that created opportunities for you to get items from loot tables. Here we found an issue that we were able to verify was consistent across everyone who reported problems:
The rules by which you qualify for credit for an event or for experience when killing a mob are different rules than those used to help determine if you qualify for loot. Some of these were set up to be unintentionally restrictive, and as such you could kill a creature with a lot of health (this was most noticeable on champions) and not qualify for loot, despite qualifying for all other credit.
For the February Flame & Frost: The Gathering Storm release we will be repairing this issue to ensure more players are capable of earning loot credit for kills. This should fix the issue such that you got credit for killing a champion, but received no loot from it. Once fixed, all champion mobs will correctly always drop 1 blue or better loot item, and all veterans will have a chance of dropping loot better than regular mobs as outlined in the November release. Please note, it is still possible to kill a creature and not do enough damage to qualify for loot (which is the only way you won’t get loot for a champion), it is also still possible for veterans to not drop loot at all, since they simply have better odds of dropping loot than normal creatures but no guaranteed drops.
On top of this, we’re also updating some of the loot in various areas of the game for the February release that should make specific areas more rewarding. We’ll cover this is in detail with the February release notes.
Thanks very much for all your feedback and reports, that information has proved incredibly useful!
Anyway, regurgitating rules at a player supposedly leaving. I wonder which part of t heir thought process hinted that it mattered to him.
The fact that he posted.
These people are always attention kittens. No exceptions. If you want to leave, leave. Dramatic “I QUIT” posts are never about people leaving, always about drawing out that extra bit of attention and pity.
Quoted for posterity. Any normal human being, who doesn’t like a game – merely moves on. That’s it. The “I quit” posts (sometimes under the guise of providing “guidance” to new players – as though their opinion carries any weight whatsoever), are just attention-seeking.
Melee combat punishes inexperienced players, that’s all.

If it comes out in January then it’s a January patch, whether it’s on the 1st or the 31st.
You wouldn’t apply that logic to anything else would you? If you get sent a bill that says you have to pay it by the end of the month and then they fine you on the 28th because it’s basically the end of the month already so you should just admit that you’re late even if you have 2 days left you’d be pretty kitten

I love you keep touting that you’re the only one über enough to properly play Warrior, yet you keep including that one-trick pony strategy with Frenzy over and over. As I said, without Frenzy, you’re not pulling it off because it takes forever to finish the attack, leaving you vulnerable (because of the self-root) and leaving your intended victim plenty of time to escape.
Frenzy+Hundred Blades is a one-trick pony, no matter how highly you think of yourself.

And nothing of value was lost.
5: Dark Armor: Gain 400 toughness when channeling.
(Move the Jagged Horror to the I Trait.)
15: Shrouded Removal: Remove a condition when entering Death Shroud.
(Move Protection of the Horde to the VI Trait.)
This benefits all Necromancers, 5/15 traits that only effect one build should not exist, plus its annoying since almost every necromancer takes these traits.
Shrouded Removal could also convert the condition into a buff.
