Runes of the Undead – Use these for high bleed ticks. Useful in PvP since condition clears get thrown every which way which makes duration pointless.
Runes of the Necromancer/Nightmare – Useful for terror builds. You can get 100% fear duration with these, the 50% fear duration trait, and condition duration food.
2x Krait, 2x Centaur, 2x Afflicted – Bleed duration set. Use this in dungeons. Enemies live long enough for duration to actually mean something. With duration you do more damage over time than with just pure condition damage.
You’re living a fantasy if you think the current state of Rangers was ok. After seeing the supposedly leaked Patch Notes, you go on a QQ spree.
This FOTM no skill class needed to be toned down.
If these Patch Notes are legit, we’ll ONLY continue to see skilled rangers continue to play and the kiddo’s running Mes or something.
Autoattacking/petcarryme builds are in for a treat.
Enjoy the backseat.

…or at least increase marks’ default range to 240.
It now takes these two traits to even consider using the staff as one’s main weapon, and this penalize A LOT anyone aiming to play a Minion Master (as many minion’s traits are in the Death Magic traitline too).
Just posting this in the hope a Dev reads it.

By that definition, I’m not carried because I wouldn’t do well with another profession. I’m mich more practiced with ranger, although I have one of each.
Do you know how many times I’ve carried a party through Arah or a fractal? I can’t even count how many. It’s a lot. Helping your team in a dungeon is more than a profession. It’s a mindset. It’s knowing the dungeon and being able to lead a team that falters.
You’re not being carried. Why? Because you’re familiar with the class. What if you had spent that time getting familiar with another class?
Saying;
X Class +TimeUsed=Good Because Y Class + (TimeUsed- Z)=Less Good
is not in any way an argument because the sides are not equal.
Secondly, “Do you know… It’s a mindset. It’s knowing the dungeon and being able to lead a team that falters.” Does not further help any statement about Rangers as this is a player factor and equally applies to any class.
Therefore you’re entire argument is that you’re not carried because experience and have become personally familiar with predictable AI. NOT because the Ranger class itself is “good” or “useful”.
The fact is that Ranger’s are regarded as crap for very legitimate reasons, none of which directly correlate to player skill, just obvious shortcomings of the class. Some people blow it out of proportions and unjustly persecute the class but that does not mean it is unwarranted a lot of the time.
Agreed. I was glad to see the slight improvements to the longbow, but very disappointed in seeing the range nerf to the shortbow. And they still haven’t fixed the shortbow’s firing rate after the stealth animation nerf. Guess I’ll keep my ranger in farm mode until this profession gets fixed.
With how much Anet hates rangers, they will nerf it before release because you brought it up.
Yay! Ignorance and paranoia! Let’s all rage wildly about something we know nothing about! Everyone welcome on the bandwagon! Hurrah!
Things we know about Torment:
- it was designed as a condition primarily for Necros to solve the problem of people easily running away from them without giving them significant mobility as well.
- ANet decided it would effectively compliment other classes, namely Thieves and mesmers.
That’s it. We don’t know how powerful it’ll be. We don’tknow scaling, cooldowns, durations, potential interactions with traits… nothing.
In fact, the only educated guess we can make is that it’ll scale with condition damage, since it’s a condition designed originally for Necros. And even that is tentative at best. How many thief or mesmer condition builds do you know that are really all that right now?
Yeah… calm the kitten down. Tim foil hats back in their drawers, and fingers off the fire alarms please. Jeeez…
But Proxy, you’re supposed to overreact and claim one of the extreme ends of the spectrum!

So long as people are stupid enough to buy RNG boxes, developers and publishers will keep making them, because that’s how they make money.
This game is such a joke when it comes to difficulty, senior citizens and the mentally Ill could easily play this game and partake in meta events and run dungeons.
This last event was so pathetic, running around and dancing at effigies, smacking pinatas, the only decent thing there even was, was the Dragon ball mini game and it was ruined by idiots going AFK just to get the achievement, and I don’t usually like mini games but this one was fun and kinda a challenge, but others ruined it for us like always.

There are indeed!
We’ve had a lot of feedback from folks asking for more difficult places in the game that can be more rewarding to play in. Our intent with Orr (and Southsun) is to create areas that are more fun/difficult for groups to play through event chains, with events that scale better when larger groups of players show up than the rest of the game, rather than the old versions that fell apart when more than a group or so of players showed up.
Thus the continual updates this year to make the creatures in Orr have more varied skills, the swap over to the new event scaling system that creates veterans/champions as content scales up, and the updates to Southsun to have more playable content. The one thing that’s really missing is the rewards to help make playing in these locations more even exciting and rewarding than they are now.
We want champions to be more rewarding, so places like Orr/Southsun where events can scale up to create champions become one of the more fun and rewarding places in the game to play, since events there can be champion on demand generators to an extent. We’d also like to tie in additional unique rewards to the temple chains, to make those more worthwhile and differentiate them from the giant boss encounters (which we’ll also be upgrading to be more exciting) to give a reason to do each in a day. We’d also like to add more value and use to blue/green items, so things like killing vets feels more rewarding when those type of items drop when doing those events in Orr as well.
And of course, we’d like to remove culling from PvE as well so you can experience these events in all their glory when they do scale up.
We’ll go into specifics on all of this in an updated version of the Gw2 in 2013 blog post sometime in July focusing on our plan for the 2nd half of the year and how we plan to improve the core game experience. As a reminder, you can find the original detailing our high level plan here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/colin-johanson-on-guild-wars-2-in-the-months-ahead/
Imagine if they had a system where you could support them and get something in return.
‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder….’
All there really is to say on that. Kind of goes along the same lines of ’It’s so hideous it’s cute’
What one person may find ‘ugly’ another may find ‘beautiful’ (or because it’s ugly its beautiful, such as with the example you provided)
Cue kittenstorm in 3…2…

Or at least that is what Arena Net and NC Soft think.
I’ve seen tons of threads talking about those boxes and other RNG elements of the game, and complaining about them. But do you know what else I’ve seen? People saying they’ve spent hundreds of dollars on those boxes. Yes those claims are always followed by “and I got nothing” or something of that effect, but all NC Soft sees is the hundreds of dollars part. Those boxes are making a fortune, probably thousands of dollars every day of the living story events that host them. And I’d even go so far as to speculate that development of an expansion has been delayed because NC Soft sees that they can make much more profit from RNG boxes than boxed expansions.
My point is simple; if you don’t want RNG boxes in these events, and you do want an expansion then you’re going to have to stop buying the boxes. Stop using them even. I know it is hard to resist the allure of the new skins, but every box you open is another nail in the expansion’s coffin, and another reason for NC Soft to keep having those boxes exist. So please, as a player who is completely sick of RNG in this game, don’t buy any more boxes, and dump the ones you do have right in the trash. Don’t even open them. Make all the time and effort spent designing, modeling and texturing those skins completely worthless. Make it cost them money to waste their time on RNG boxes. That is the only way to change this toxic practice. If you want to get rid of RNG boxes, then stop opening RNG boxes. And no; not even the free dropped ones. Toss them all.
1 of my friends really wanted the fused greatsword. He farmed alts for keys day and night, spent gems in keys, opened probably around 100 chests. Nothing.
Another friend of mine opened 4 chests, got one. Some guy opened 4 chests got 3 claim tickets.
I really wanted a Sclerite GS. I farmed around 70 boxes. Nothing. Some low level warrior stumbled upon one on the first day of the event while leveling in Southsun. Saw someone with 3 of them.
Life isn’t fair. RNG can go suck all the kittens. All of them.
Isn’t that the truth. I wanted a fused weapon and did about 40 key runs, and no ticket. A friend got a key from somewhere, random drop I think, and got a ticket from that one chest. She didn’t even know what it was for. I had to tell her.
What did we learn today class?
Rng sucks.
The rng Gods hate me with a passion. So far I have dumped well over 250 rare Greatswords and probably close to 100 exotic Greatswords down the Mystic Toilet with no success at all at a precursor. Today, while doing her daily, the better half (not sure how long I will still call her that now) dumped 4 totally random rares on the Toilet and got the Tooth of Frostfang. So if you do not see me in game for awhile it is because I will be occupied beating my head against the nearest brick wall.

Hello all, let’s keep in mind that this was just one change, it isn’t intended to be the one saving grace of the whole economy it was simply a market correction.
Standard: We saw that dust was too expensive and it wasn’t on a correcting trend. We made it easier and more prevalent to get dust without any major changes to the current balance.
We wanted a shift of the supply curve for dust without change the balance too much in any other markets, we were making a change in pseudo isoloation (bisolation if you will).
I hates these non-descriptive “ORLY” thread titles. I does hates it so.
There used to be a beautiful spot on the top of Mount Maelstrom. It was a rock just above the vista that one could easily access by jumping across a few slanted stones, and running up to the tip. It would put you nearly at the cloud layer, where you could see off into the distance at the lightning and stormy sky due to the active volcano below. I went and got the vista today on an alt and thought I’d go up there because I liked the spot.
Anet made that impossible by changing the rocks. Instead you walk around the side and you see a series of sloped rocks leading up to the area, blocked off by an invisible wall.
Why? How is it that the developers are more focused on removing fun scenic areas and things like a popular stump in Southsun than fixing all of the crap bugs that actually plague character classes? Why was it even necessary to “fix” something like this? I actually had a few good memories chatting with people on top of that high rock near the clouds, but we can’t have nice things like that, can we?
