Apathy Inc [Ai]
Except ArenaNet has worked and is continuing to work on the issue.
The problem is the general ignorance of people in general when it comes to the topic. There is no secret switch to remove lag. Every MMO with massive RvR type combat has the same issue, and none of them have actually solved it 100%.
So you shouldn’t buy any more RvR type games if you don’t want lag.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
The free one is 15 minutes. The purchased version is 1 hour, just like all the rest. This is a way of getting people who are logging in during the free trial to check out WvW.
That’s fair enough.
Are the payed versions supposed to be soulbound rather than account bound? The other boosters are account bound. I purchased 15 WXP boosters as soon as they were available. My intention was for it to help me level my guild class (Hammer warrior). But they were immediately soulbound to my thief who I happened to be logged on to at the time.
The paid versions are indeed supposed to be account bound and we are rectifying that in the build on 9/3.
Out of curiosity, can you get the WxP boosters from BL chests/rankup chests?
Also if Devon wants to have a poke at talking about something that’s coming down the line but fair enough if you can’t say; we know that at some point Magic Find is going to be removed and turned into some kind of permanent account unlock consumable… Thing. Is this going to just be Magic Find, or are you going to be able to increase XP/Karma/etc? If yes, WXP too?
The 15 minutes WxP booster drops in each rank up chest from ranks 2-5. That is why it is intended to be soulbound. It does mean that each new character in WvW will earn an hour of WxP boost by the time they reach rank 6. We don’t currently have any plans to move WXP boosts to an account level of that sort. We have been discussing further improvements to the system that would help with alts, but those are only at the discussion phase.
I’ll post this here as well:
WvW is a game type that we believe very strongly in. We’ve seen that people have been organizing their own combat in WvW and that’s really cool, but WvW requires changes that are not always in step with the gameplay that has been emerging. Our focus is on making WvW as strong as it can be and we will continue to make changes with that in mind. We have been and will continue to discuss these open field battles, but in the meantime the changes we make to WvW will always have that game type first and foremost in mind.
Fixes for these are being worked on. As well as changes to the WvW achievements to make them more in line with all the other achievements in the game. And to reward a suitable amount of achievement points. However, making changes to achievements that are already live is far more complicated than it would seem and we have focused on other areas so far. This is on our list to fix by the end of the year, however.
I enjoy Scarlet’s show too. She seems like a villian I’ll enjoy to fight, and a tons more fun than anyone else so far
I just wanted to say that I was irritated when I saw how much people on here were slamming Scarlet. I think she is marvelous. The critical people just need to sit back and enjoy. The Queen’s Speech instance had me laughing out loud, marveling at the artistic creativity of Scarlet’s minions, and just generally enjoying myself. It was a pleasure to play. So far, the Living Story villains as a whole—from the Flame & Frost bosses, to the Aetherblades, and so-on, have been great fun.

I really don’t understand the complaints on the story.
See, the key term they use is “Living” story. It breathes, it grows, and it lives. It continues to drop more and more stuff.
Nearly all story lines and plots are pretty predictable. It’s few and far between when any story throws a curve ball and something happens that wasn’t expected. I mean, this is why there are story elements taught to people about foreshadowing and red herrings and all kinds of stuff.
People are mad because they haven’t said how or why Scarlet is using the Molten Alliance or the Aetherblades. That’s simple really. It’s because there is more story to come. In two weeks will get some more information or the journey will take us on another path. All of this has been for a purpose.
This story started months ago and continues to grow and evolve. It’s pretty amazing to me. I wouldn’t even be mad if we didn’t find out Scarlet’s true motivations for another 6 months. It’s why I’m playing an MMO and not just buying a run of the mill game that is beaten and done in 5 days.

I did one invasion and walked away… Haven’t even logged in since patch day and I usually play everyday, that is starting to change.. I just cannot think about this living story without disgust.
That’s your own fault he is a WvW dev not a GvG developer. Spamming GvG doesn’t even ask a question its 3 letters.
Thanks for that! Yes, we do ask that folks stay on topic to the theme of the Livestream. We don’t want to discourage questions, but our team was moderating the folks spamming “GvG” over and over, which made us miss some great questions incoming about WvW.
you are not supposed to share the account.

Support will not get involved in these sorts of transactions. Protecting players form scamming is one of the primary reasons that the Trading Post was developed, and those who choose not to use it are in a “buyer or seller beware” situation.
You may report the player, if you wish. However, Support will not attempt to extract and return the item, because it is probably long gone and may now be in the hands of someone who has no idea it initially was stolen.
Please use the Trading Post in the future.

I share the account with my brother and now our characters’ gold is combined through the wallet system, is there anyway to disable the wallet system or separate the gold for each character? we don’t want to buy another account
You are in breach of the User Agreement with account sharing, and we are not able to help you resolve issues on a shared account.

We get to ponder why this game has no public test server.
Very off topic, so I apologize for replying, but…
I’m perfectly fine with there being no public test server.
For one, the releases are so rapid now that a test server would have to be running constantly alongside the previous event and managing that sounds like it might actually take away from the process rather than add to it.
Plus, I have seen test servers in other games. Even with issues like karma changes or bugs, GW2 has fewer problems and fixes them faster than other games I have played. Test servers mainly end up as spoilers for the story and either burn some players out faster, or let players work out all the tricks and traps before they play on live.
I say ArenaNet should keep doing what they are doing because it is working and they are improving as they go along.
This is a VERY important point. Something like this should be clarified in the patch notes. In bold.
Actual release note:
All overflow maps created within 10 minutes of the start of the invasion will host a concurrent version of that hour’s event.
I just want to remind folks again, the features and content you’d traditionally find in an expansion will absolutely be added to Gw2. The thing we haven’t decided is what form the release of that content would be presented in, be it a traditional expansion, living world, or some other form.
- Every map will be invaded at least once per day, probably twice. In some cases, three times.
- Builds do not affect the rotation.
- The rotation is the same across all servers.
- If you play at the same time every day, you will see all 13 maps by the end of the Clockwork Chaos release.
We absolutely cannot see that your account was hacked. In fact, as Ellieanna points out, your account was not hacked, your entire computer was. And because we cannot accurately kitten the situation, and because sometimes such claims are made without merit, our position must be that we can establish without question that the account was indeed compromised. That is not the case in your situation, so with regret, our team cannot assist you.

Anet stated many times that they will help if they can prove someone accessed your account. All they can see from your case is your computer logged into your account. Your account wasn’t hacked, your computer was. At this point, it’s on your, and the maker of your laptop if remote access really was the cause of it.
If you opened your computer to be remotely accessed, that’s just like having a stranger play on your computer in your living room. So it makes sense that Anet cannot assist you, as it’s impossible to determine if the account was truly being played by you, or a hacker.
This was resolved within about 8 hours of the ticket being submitted. Clearly, there is no need to turn to the forums for assistance with current issues. You must give Support time to work on the issue and not use the forums as some ill-perceived means of calling attention to the situation. There really is no need to do that.

This makes no sense whatsoever. It’s wrong wrong wrong. There is no difference between an account bound skin purchased with a ticket now (after the patch), or purchased with a ticket in the past (before the patch). None. Yet you punish the last group, while you reward the first?
Josh, this makes no sense.
Torda — I just reviewed the ticket, and as you were told, the team has checked and double-checked and they’ve reviewed purchases all to way back to November, and they have been unable to confirm that you made this purchase. Purchases are logged in several ways, and no one is able to figure out how the logs would have failed in your case and no one else’s. That is why the team declined your request: There is nothing that shows the purchase. if you wish to continue to discuss this, you may reopen your ticket and provide any additional information that you are able to provide.
Note: The situation you described is not in any way related to the missing Mini Watchknight. That is an entirely separate issue.

Okay, before anything, don’t get angry I’m asking this. Just trying to help as best as I can.
Does the gem store show that you made the purchase? And do you remember how many gems you had in total when you bought those?
Cause if the mini’s and and bank tab were never deducted, that could mean they weren’t bought at all. It would also explain why support can’t find anything on it.
Could they still be in your mailbox attached to the email you got when you bought them?
And another obvious one, could they be on a different character?
I realize this might all be stuff that makes you think “Urg did she even read my post” but yes I did. I can’t undo a decision made by support but them finding nothing is strange too in my book.
(could you have gotten hacked?)
The 2 rares is just once per day no matter how many maps you do.
The 50 scraps/5 stash + other stuff is per map per day.
Hello fellow PvP’ers as well as the Anet staff involved with the situation beforehand. I do not feel as if I should put my nose in this situation; however, my name was in the screenshot and I can vouch for the OP that Volpe, was in fact, attacking players such as me from underground. I had no idea where it came from other than the fact that projectiles were getting fired at me during, as well as after the duel out from the ground. I just thought it was a bug and had no idea about this until a guild member referred me to this forum post.
I’ll get to the point, I do believe he should at least receive a warning because this type of exploit can indeed lead to easy exploit of the map and its mechanics, such as killing the enemy guild lord without destroying the gate or having to deal with any of the lord’s bodyguards. The person can also attack people without any consequences to himself. These are the reasons as to why this should be dealt with.
Thanks for the information! I’ve passed it on to the CS team, they will take care of it from here.
If he is actually under the map attacking people, that is considered cheating.
I’ll pass this on to our CS team, thanks for the report!
It is nice for newer players to be vocal about their experiences.
I don’t claim to be a seasoned player. Though I have played a fair bit, I never competed on a proper team and I’d say playing with other people on voice chat is probably the most educational!
It gives you fast access to common team strategies and it will teach you the art of stomping / reviving that you can’t learn anywhere else.
In all fairness, Guild Wars 2 struggles on the aspect of communication and grouping. The new tournament systems move around this issue, but it is still very much present. There was a time when, unless you knew and played with a group of people already, there was basically no chance of finding one for tournaments.
Some pointers, if you like:
- Pay attention to combo fields: there are a lot of team play revolves around stacking might or stealth to open a fight. Learning every combination at your disposal can improve your play.
- Downed state is crucial: it is not always in your team’s best interest to stomp, simply damaging a downed enemy can be a safer way of securing a kill. Know the abilities every class will use in downed state and how your build can counter them. Same goes for reviving allies.
- Count your opponent’s dodges: dodging is the most basic and powerful defensive skill in the game, if you notice a target without endurance it is safe to burst or crowd control.
- Use verticals to your advantage: maps often offer secure and strategic positioning on the high ground. Moving up the vertical axis can allow you to leave a fight and save your life (less so now after blink nerfs).
- Personal positioning is essential, but knowledge of map control is equally important. Moving quickly between points can allow you to catch the opponents of guard by suddenly outnumbering them, stealing away their secondary buff or rotating your members of your team to their backpoint.
Sometimes it is better to sacrifice a point you have and moving elsewhere if you know you cannot defend it.
These are very basic ideas and since you said you won 10 solo queue matches and have experience in PvP games I recon you already do this, but it might be helpful still.
