I second that. I have GW2 already, why should I pay for it again?

You can only preorder the expansion with the core game, where’s the preorder for expansion only? I don’t want to buy the core game again.

Seems we’re getting there, there is not much left going for this boring BL map.
You only need to remove the kitten map! …Oh wait, you are going to remove the map.
Victory at last! Map defeated.
Thank you ArenaNet!
You really listened!
Thank you very very much!

With dragon hunter out of the bag, who knows what we might get? Here is my crazy guess on the specialization.
Shadow Blade:
Rather than turning to rage and strength, shadow blades draw their power from a much darker place. By tapping into the realm of the shade, shadow blades can become shells of their former selves and strike enemies from a place beyond the veil.
Weapon: Offhand Dagger
New Skill Type: Venoms
New F2: Shadow Walk
New Mechanics:
By pressing F2 shadow blades become a silhouette and gain defiance. While in shadow walk, the warrior gains defiance and super speed and attacks 25% faster. All leaps while in shadow walk become shadow steps. While in shadow walk the warrior deals 33% less damage but takes 20% less damage.
While in shadow walk, adrenaline is drained. Using F1 performs the warrior’s burst using the adrenaline level that the warrior had prior to entering shadow walk and ends it. Shadow Blades are distinguished from necromancer’s shroud when using their ability due to a red cloudy tint and glowing red eyes. They look more like the shadow assassin finisher.
Although shadow walk gives the warrior defiance, cc effects against the warrior reduce the shadow walk duration instead of applying their effects.
New Skills:
Souldrinker Venom (Heal):
Heal yourself and apply 3 charges of venom. When you strike an enemy steal 1 boon and heal yourself for an additional amount.
Shadowstrike Venom:
Apply 3 charges of venom to yourself. The next time you are attacked you take no damage, lose one charge, and your shadow attacks the enemy, dealing damage and removing 1 boon.
Shadowsplinter Venom:
Apply 3 charges of venom to yourself. The next time you attack an enemy, enemies around the target are struck by shadowy barbs and you lose 1 charge.
Darkseeker Venom:
Apply 3 charges of venom to yourself. The next time you attack an enemy, that enemy is is blinded, weakened, and you lose a charge.
Banishing Venom (Elite):
Apply 3 charges of venom to yourself. Each enemy you strike with this venom becomes banished to the shadow plane for 2 seconds per application of this venom where they are dealt periodic damage, deal zero damage with attacks, cannot apply conditions, and cannot apply boons or heals to allies.
Traits:
-Minor: Shadowstalker: Entering shadow walk marks your current target for death. When within 600m of target your shadow walk drains adrenaline 20% slower.
-Adept: Immaterial Shade: Shadow walk periodically cleanses 1 condition every 2 seconds.
-Grandmaster: Foreboding Presence: Venoms are shared with nearby allies. Gain fury when striking a poisoned or blinded enemy.
Adept:
-Disciple of Midnight: Entering shadow walk blinds nearby foes and deals damage.
-Opaque Shadow: Entering shadow walk breaks stun. CC effects used against you while you are defiant consume less shadow walk time and grant you might.
-Deathly Shadow: Entering shadow walk aoe poisons foes around you. Critical hits against an enemy with 3 or more conditions grants you might.
Master:
-Shade of Anguish: Your venoms apply torment to foes.
-Protective Envoy: The next enemy that strikes you under the 25% health threshold is transferred 2 of your conditions then banished to the shadow plane for 2 seconds.
-Beyonder’s Touch: Your critical hits reduce the damage penalty of shadow walk. Boons your remove also apply vulnerability.
Grandmaster:
-Beyonder’s Focus: Your burst skills are unaffected by the damage penalty from Shadow Walk. Exiting shadow walk also returns adrenaline.
-Lost in Shadow: Entering shadow walk places you into stealth and leaves a clone of you in the material world. If this clone is killed the enemy is banished to the shadow plane for 3 seconds. You deal 20% more damage to enemies in the shadow plane while in shadow walk.
-Devouring Shade: Entering shadow walk steals 1 boon from a nearby enemy every 2 seconds. Critical hits against enemies while in shadow walk refreshes 1 condition on them.

exactly… what a bad name…
they better not call warriors plant exterminator or something…
Game Security Lead
We don’t need to see it in-game, sometimes good video evidence is enough for me to track down who it was. In this case, the video was enough for me to find out who it was and take action. Thanks for the video, and to accompany your video, I give you this video of his account’s last moments:
Oh yah, he’s also banned

People seem to be confusing the ideas of “won’t pay this much” and “can’t afford this much”.
I could easily buy the expansion even if it was $200, but I won’t. I will only pay what I think it is worth. The amount of revealed content is not worth $40-$50, so I will not pay that. It has nothing to do with what I can afford. If they release $15-$20 in content then I will pay $15-$20 no more.
Would you pay $200 for this expansion? if not why? that is only ~$1 per day since the announcement, surely you can afford $1 per day right? if not then maybe you should look at your priorities.
Ele skill “Ride the lightning” has been broken since its implementation was changed shortly after release. It frequently (almost always) overshoots, even on stationary targets, which leads to the usual followup spell “Updraft” often missing.
This is gamebreaking if/when trying to play ?/D Ele. It’s even worse when trying to updraft a moving target.
The first 2 clips are in WVW, the 3rd is in PVE. I play from Australia on a fast connection. The extent of the overshoot seems to correlate with increasing network latency.

This is an unedited screenshot of a fight between players from NA servers and EU servers in our “made up game mode” we call GvG here in GW2.
While we may all agree that simple team deathmatch 20v20 in a flat surface can be bland and is hardly a game mode, I think that this picture shows you the real interest in large scale PvP. Keep in mind, this is a completely and totally unofficial game-mode, with very little publicity or advertisement. The viewers on this are kitten near what ESL got, with all the publicity and whatnot you guys had on that. Imagine if you had hyped this.
I just ask that you folks at ArenaNet reconsider what your true focus is as far as what the PvP in this game entails. I love PvP, I’m rank 80, play it a lot. I loved large scale WvW fighting as well.
But the lack of a true player versus player mode with a larger scale basis that focuses on the true mechanics of the game’s combat system is a huge business blunder and something I definitely believe could benefit your company.
I think we all understand that WvW is a bit more casual of a game mode – there is no true rewards or incentives to play. This is totally fine, but ANET, you’re missing a massive business opportunity sitting right under your nose by overlooking the community of players that are interested in larger scale COMPETITIVE PvP. You’re never going to compete with League of Legends with Stronghold. But you’re overlooking an entire market because it seems to me, from the outside, that from a business standpoint you’re trying to get a slice of the MOBA pie when you could have a whole pie all to yourself.
Your game has an amazing combat system and an amazing capability to have very intense, teamwork-oriented fights at a larger scale. To be completely honest, I legitimately don’t think I’ve ever seen a game come close to the ability that you have currently to create a PvP mode to support a mid-scale (10-20 vs. 10-20) competitive PvP scene with the success I believe you would have.
I am not asking for GvG. I am asking for you to consider the possibility of having “raid size” COMPETITIVE player versus player, as I believe there is an entire untapped market out there that you would be able to benefit from without having to compete with games like SMITE, League, or DotA.
Just food for thought.

Yes. Free up some server resources and maybe real WvW won’t be as much of a lagfest is is now.
Great idea at 1st but let’s encourage the destack
If you do, add me to friends and taxi me into [EotM] (Venturers of the Mists) run maps. I’ll make sure they have plenty of siege/siege trolls giving them some opposition.
Would female characters get that option too? :p
I vote for Elemental Attunement as Master Trait.
I’m sick with that policy to obliterate elementalist.
I was happy when I first saw the new three GM Traits in one build until I saw Arcana.
† RIP Elementalist †
And everyone in the lower tiers proceeds to laugh their kitten off at this complaint.
You put yourself into this situation. You get to deal with it.
What I see when I visit any crowded area or event now.
The only content I have ever played is WvW and going off the artwork and description of wvw “Navigate treacherous heights with traps that blow your foes to the depths” its not looking good at all.
Here we have a full transcript of yesterday’s presentation (thanks to the guy who wrote all that down).
Interestingly, twice Colin mentions “our no-grind philosophy for Guild Wars 2”.
It appears ArenaNet really believes their own Manifesto, when the same Colin said, “We don’t want players to grind”.
We just need to let them know that, between Ascended items and slow dungeon rewards and Legendaries and the new level-based unlocks and the new trait system unlock and etc etc, well… Their “no-grind philosophy” has been extremely grindy.
Why stop at 20? Why not eliminate leveling all together?
((Dearest mods… Sticky plz?))
Brought to you from the minds of everyone in this thread …
To any and all who browse these forums seeking knowledge, inspiration, companionship or perhaps all of the above,
Whether active poster or simple lurker you’re invited to come share ideas and experiences with fellow Mesmer in the actual GW2 game by joining the Official Mesmer Forums Guild.
While still a work in progress, the goal of the guild is to allow Mesmer players around the world (US and EU both) to practice, theorycraft, hang out, or what-the-hell-ever else with people of like mind. We intend to schedule bi-weekly events such as sPvP training, dungeon runs, living story events, and more.
Feel free to apply with your in-game name/what you play ( PvE,PvP, or WvW)/ and the time you usually play.
Anyone can, of course, take on any roll whenever they want but the ranks make it easier to see what one specializes in. And the titles are subject to change as I totally pulled them out my … kitten.
Please either apply in this message and/or contact myself (NA), Faith Blackwater (Natsu), (NA), Alissah (EU) or Pyroathiest (EU/NA)

Tabletop RNG? :O
But I can picture a stack of 1mil cards called “RNG LOOT” where you pick a card to find out what loot you get — where a legendary item takes 10 cards piece. If you get all of the pieces, you can exchange it for a legendary.
What xpac? For all we know its just over hyped for the new living season.. Until its official I’d rather not get my hopes up and comment on what I’d like to see..
Another awesome suggestion:
Diminish levels back to max of lvl 20 like in GW1
