If I didn’t have a number of disabilities and if I had an actual life, I’d have quit a long time ago. Unfortunately GW2 is one of the few releases I have for socializing and keeping a healthy brain.

I don’t know when I’ll be moving on but I do know that I won’t regret my time here. And you should feel the same, OP. Don’t live with regrets and don’t be upset because your time with something has passed. Feel happy that you felt happy and remember that moving on doesn’t have to mean letting go.

Revisit your memories often because only you can keep them alive. Good luck with where ever life takes you!

Three largest problems still are:

  • Population imbalance
  • Coverage imbalance
  • Fair-Weather Effect/Fighting losing battles not fun

Everything else is lipstick.

These are my #1 to #3 issues currently in WvW atm as well. In my honest opinion. Till ANet solves these three all else is pretty much no even a band aide at this point. You can completely balance all of the skills and siege and fix all of the bugs in the game. however till those three issues are addressed and fixed. WvW will continue just to be a game mode where only the bandwagoners, exploiters, and hackers are having fun at the expense of everyone else that is left. Which at this point is not many.

You want proof just look at the servers and each tier. If not all, then at least 3 of the tiers have this one monster GOD-like server dominating these ant-like servers with nothing in between. Kinda like sPvP you either stomp or get completely curb stomped 9 our 10 times. This is no way fun for players who are on the receiving end of these exploiters/grievers.

I maybe a troll with class.
But at least I admit it!

A long, long time ago ANET asked us what our priority issues were for WvW.

Since then we have seen a new Borderlands map, WvW reward tracks, server linking and a number of other, smaller updates. In other words – things have changed.

It’s time to ask again I think:
What are your top three things that you think need to be addressed in WvW today?

WvW tournament rewards - make them permanent

Make the WvW tournament rewards permanent, instead of 25 tickets ask 250 badges , 200 tickets ask 2000 badges. Atleast it will give us something to save up for or work on.
As you are aware Anet WvW could use some extra rewards, so instead of throwing away the tournament rewards unlock them.

This is easy to do and will make plenty of people happy.
In the meanwhile you can also add a ascended backpiece maybe

1sec still feels like they ll be able to be quite some time in stealth. I would agree if they did not have the huge ammount of mobility they have already. Seems thiefs still want to stealth long enought to be able to fight while using stealth. Should be a getaway button or opening damage for the surprise atack nothing else.

I d suggest those traps do damage that reveals from stealth. Just a small amount of direct damage.

Bad idea. The trap will become unusable as it was before.

They had direct damage before and no thief used them because they could get the thief killed . In that respect they were very much like that forced “last refuge”.

The issue is not traps. There only one trap used in this build. Again I can lay down 11 confusion stacks from stealth without using a single trap.

But if a dh deals damage using trapper runes or ranger druid it breaks stealth aswell. No class should be able to do damage while in stealth i say that again.

Remove the leap finisher from Heartseeker. Problem solved.

Then Thieves would have the worst stealth access in the whole game compared to every other class that has it and they are designed for stealth unlike every other class in game.

Plus your suggestion would ruin more than just Stealth on Thief since that finisher is useful for a lot of other combo fields. The best idea is to implement the 1 sec ICD on stealth stacking across the board.

I hardly see anyone use Heartseeker other than stack stealth. Your “that finisher is useful for a lot of other combo fields” argument is silly because of that. Besides, you have Bound for all your leap finisher needs.

Sure, the ICD on stealth aplication would be the best, but you cannot suggest hard to implement things because you can be sure they will never happen.

To be honest, thief should just be totally reworked so stealth can be reworked too.

No guys, you have it all wrong, thief is a high skill floor ultra high skill ceiling class. What you see here isn’t a thief it’s…er…well you don’t see it.

Stealth is perfectly balanced and has plenty of counterplay, never mind that someone that hasn’t been lobotomised can still stack stealth by doing it away from people. Just stand in the red circles!

Thief has the lowest DPS and burst and everything with lowest survivability so it needs stealth.

Just cleanse and run away, it only kills bad players.

All this and more when “thief mains” see the thread.

That’s pretty much what teef mainers come and tell ya when you have valid concerns about broken kitten.

3 Month Balance Patches

3 months are ok the amount of changes these balance patches contain?

To answer you frankly, All the changes in the quarterly patches can be done in 1-2 months tops.

Waiting for 3-4 months for basic changes (there is not even a lot of trait/skills changes/reworks) is utter…………

1. Poor build variety, so many parts of each class not even used

2. Skills glitching with the map or bugged

3. Conditions vastly outperforming power builds

4. Bad PvP system. Newer games have tried pip system and quickly changed it.

5. Terrible interface. We really shouldnt be guessing (or “feeling”) when our skills are off cooldown. I suggested a small progress bar at the bottom of each slot that indicates the time left on the other skill that shares the same slot. Maybe changes colour to when the skill is off cooldown.

6. Still no ingame voice chat system. Honestly there is no excuse for this, there is an MMORPG released in 2009 that has it. I dont think people understand how huge this would be for PvP.

7. Constantly destroying and over buffing classes. I dont understand why this happens
- Guardian used to die to thieves, even S/D thief. Guardian should have been given some sort of mobility impairment skills or buffed the spirit weapons to keep up with base thieves, instea you created a no brain thing like trap dragon hunter that should always kill thieves.

- Constantly nerfing Revenant without fixing the bad stuff like hammer, glitchy skills, Salvation trait line, Ventari, Jalis. No stun break on Mallyx or Ventari. ridiculous heal on ventari.

- Pushing eles to pure support tank then to uselessness then to slightly more manageable uselessness.

Honestly after switching my main from necro to thief then to revenant, I thought if I could still mantain my playstyle on Revenant i would probably stick around despite the foolishness the studio feeds us every patch but after the change to unwavering avoidance after the changes to phase traversal plus the other legends being useless, i think im tired man, its been 4 years of this anti-progress nonsense.

It really sucks because i got invited to a team and was serously considering it, maybe even appearing on ESL but after this patch there is no way.

They’re called ‘elite’ for a reason. I think the vertical growth of elite specs are meant to mirror the growth in mob difficulty. Harder areas = more powerful abilities. Of course they get used in all parts of the game anyway, but I didn’t mind my characters getting stronger. It felt natural after being in the game for so many years, like the next step in my character’s story.

Except that elite specs were supposed to be side-grades and NOT upgrades. Perhaps poor naming on Anet’s part, but I wouldn’t expect them to be in line with other trait lines. Anet needs a reason for people to buy HoT, and OP elite specs are it.

And its in the form of the new specializations from HOT.

Simply put you get more powers/abilities from the new spec’s than you do from the previoius ones.

Its just power creep in the form of specializations and not gear.

I wonder why they are doing this? Anet obviously knows its doing this when you get way more perks per specialization from the HOT ones then you do base game. My only answer would be to push sales of HOT.

Want the most powerful spec? Need to buy HOT.

Whats more interesting is once we get into the newer expansions, this is going to make the old spec’s irrelevant if you don’t want to be under powered by not using the new ones seeing as they are much less powerful.

Power creep was supposed to be something not in this game (along with grinding but that’s a different issue altogether)

My suggestions:

- Portable Walls (50 supplies per regular keep sized wall piece)

- Portable Gates, to fill the gaps between the Portable Walls. (100 supplies per Gate)

- Portable Supply Depots (90 supplies per Depot, grants 100 supplies ready to be picked up when built, wouldnt that be even more genious than cannons? I KNOW!)

I play WvW almost exclusively in this game – about 90% of the time I’ll be roaming, maybe raiding. Unfortunately the server I play for is Gunnar’s Hold, and as some of you may know, GH suffers from a dying population and constantly being outnumbered, since our links more often than that do absolutely kitten all. Despite half our time being spent outnumbered on not only the enemy bls (which is to be expected I guess?) but also EB and our own hbl, we’re still a host server for even tinier servers like Vabbi or Fissure of Woe that contribute far too little to make a difference, simply because of their size. Just to make it clear, I’m not trying to blame or insult these servers at all, it’s not their fault that they were linked with another small server, and it’s a shame that the players of Vabbi (who we are currently linked with) are also probably not enjoying WvW as much either. We should NOT be a host server at our current size, we’re far too small and we simply do not have the capacity to defend anything even during prime time.

Anyway.

Because of the issues I’ve just outlined (there are more, such as guilds leaving etc), we constantly lose. As a result, we’re constantly red, meaning we get the dbl, and every time this happens i find myself amazed at how bizarre some of your decisions are, Anet. Despite the dbl vote debacle you handled the situation pretty well; some people like the dbl, so fine, keep it as one map. But why would you enforce this map on just the red server?! One of the main reasons why GH loses so badly is because we’re just too small and too underpopulated to have a chance at defending such a big, spread out map. Coupled with the fact that most of GH (from my understanding) despises the dbls, you leave us with little choice but to lose, time and time again, every week.

As a result, I think that the only option here is to simply randomise which server gets the dbl each week. It simply isn’t fair that one server has to have this bl every week, especially when that bl contributes so much to why we lose this badly in the first place. Thanks for reading o/

Tired of Stealth

Im sorry i meant besides loosing stealth as opening hit should get people out of stealth when hit by direct damage only not condis aswell. And no other game i played was “broken” because of people getting out of stealth when hit by direct damage. Would get thiefs to better time their close aproaches on targets and not just go in and be at ease because will be able to have stealth and run away without fear of repercussions.

Yeah I agree condis remaining from previous hits should not effect stealth but taking hits should remove stealth. Just like pretty much every PvP MMO. It’s that way for reason.

Not sure why all these people are talking about thieves, this thread is about stealth, as the OP reminded us.

The other Mmos have stealth that last until cancelled or removed while stealth in this game is all on very short duration for the majority so they are different stealth mechanics, and this game has by far more Aoe damage skills than most Other mmos with stealth mechanics that remove from damage.
They do need to overhaul stealth in this game but that will more than likely never happen.

The concept of Team Chat is great and if used properly, it would be a great tool. To be able to broadcast to all maps that your T3 Garrison is under attack and needs help would be great!

Not the case. All 4 maps now are cluttered with messages about Pizza, Soiled Panties, Our BL Needs Help, What’s In Your Refrigerator, Homework and How Bored You Are.

If you ask politely to only use team chat for call out emergencies…hold on to your chair! You, your whole family, pets and everything you hold dear might be attacked by Kid Invinceable! Flaming, swearing and all the other things that go with "Don’t Tell Me What To Do, I’ll Do What I Want!

We have TS/Map/Squad and Party. Not everyone has TS. Most Commanders still type out instructions for those ppl who don’t have TS. Kinda hard to see with all the clutter.

If Team Chat name was changed to say EMERGENCY Chat: and hold any abusers accountable for adverse behavior.

Just my opinion but as a LONG time WvW Player and that is 75% of my playing time, I do not have faith in Anet when it comes to WvW. Some of these blunders should never have happened in the first place. You have to be able to see the forest thru the trees!

I think their survivablity is fine. I’ve had trouble dropping them on my guardian.

I do love landing a moa on a necro in shroud (with my mesmer) with 10% hp left though. It feels so fun to totally ruin their day.

I agree, moa needs another nerf. It needs to be a projectile that can be reflected. Thank you A-Net!
