Easy fix is that you can’t get chests from open world bosses while guesting. 99% of everyone’s problems with guesting instantly disappear.

1.) Crashes happen to a minority. It’s most likely your computer

2.) Go find me a game that has no bugs and no crashes

3.) Quite funny that you are comparing a 9-year old game with dated graphics with a modern MMO with advanced graphics

I prefer GW2 – the RL dailies take far too long to finish, and are required if you want to gain any money at all. The dynamic events in RL are unclear and largely unrewarding.
I can’t find any karma vendors in RL.

Won't bystanders hinder guild missions?

Gallrvaghn.4921

What if like, when you start a guild mission, it spawns the boss, and bystanders kill it before anyone guild-related can get there?

In this case, only guilds who currently have the mission to kill the boss will be able to initiate the event to do so. At that point any player can jump in and assist. If they earn participation, they’ll be presented with the event’s rewards. The guild members who participated in that event will receive an additional reward, which should be explain in an upcoming blog post (real soon).

Update on Loot/Drops Investigation:

After reading reports in the loot issues thread, we spent more time investigating our rewards system. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, we verified that all loot tables are indeed working correctly in the game. Since then, we continued receiving reports that there seemed to be an issue, so we extended our search to all systems that created opportunities for you to get items from loot tables. Here we found an issue that we were able to verify was consistent across everyone who reported problems:

The rules by which you qualify for credit for an event or for experience when killing a mob are different rules than those used to help determine if you qualify for loot. Some of these were set up to be unintentionally restrictive, and as such you could kill a creature with a lot of health (this was most noticeable on champions) and not qualify for loot, despite qualifying for all other credit.

For the February Flame & Frost: The Gathering Storm release we will be repairing this issue to ensure more players are capable of earning loot credit for kills. This should fix the issue such that you got credit for killing a champion, but received no loot from it. Once fixed, all champion mobs will correctly always drop 1 blue or better loot item, and all veterans will have a chance of dropping loot better than regular mobs as outlined in the November release. Please note, it is still possible to kill a creature and not do enough damage to qualify for loot (which is the only way you won’t get loot for a champion), it is also still possible for veterans to not drop loot at all, since they simply have better odds of dropping loot than normal creatures but no guaranteed drops.

On top of this, we’re also updating some of the loot in various areas of the game for the February release that should make specific areas more rewarding. We’ll cover this is in detail with the February release notes.

Thanks very much for all your feedback and reports, that information has proved incredibly useful!

Because making a gold grind is much much easier than creating a decent challenge envolving tactics and complex strategies, some simply don’t have the brainpower for such.

It is also is the best way to keep legendaries rare. Make it a boring grind, and most people will not go for it just because it is a boring grind. Make it the way you just said, and most people will go for it and succeed all the while having fun playing the game and practicing those challenges.

Grinding for the rest of the materials is a enough of a grind.

Making someone farm 450-500+ gold is a bit too much, nor does it make the end result any more special. It simply means that I blew all of my in game money on one skin. Rather than chopping down trees for 2 months, farming mobs baracuudas for armored scales..etc.

Keep the material list, give us some long and difficult chain of quests…that can be completed completely solo if needed. But make it difficult.
Keep it legendary, without moving into the financial world of the game. Why they tied the best looking skins to the “financial sector” of the game is beyond me.
Terrible terrible design. Very lazy.

Lets say it takes me 6 months to get 500 gold for the precursor. I would rather spend those 6 months doing other things to get my legendary, like a quest chain, or find some rare boss and kill him a few times for a few semi-rare pieces of something. Regardless of how long it takes me to collect the other gifts, I would rather spend the time it takes to farm the gold doing something else. Its just bad design, theres no getting around it. And like I said, Ive been thinking twice this past week..why am I logging in, other than dailys? The february patch was a good step, and I hope March is as good. If I decide not to go for my legendary, I hope the march patch keeps me busy enough to keep logging in.

Otherwise…Id rather farm in diablo 3

Karma is as abundant as air, and as useless as the Kardashians.

I love reading the mindset that seems to say…“If I die, it must be the class, cause its surely not me…therefore all classes but mine should be nerfed”

Those mindsets permeate gaming forums.

They make me laugh.

Agreed. Guess what, ill give some personal disclosure. The othe night I ran in on a necro who had just stomped someone. My guess is that a good number of his skills were on cd. I ran in perfectly fresh with my ele. We went back and forth but he ultimately had fleshy knock me down, threw a well and went to town until he kicked my kitten

Guess what. He was better than me. Get used to it, a lot of people will beat you. Learn and move on

Underworld & Fissure of Woe - True Endgame

So as the topic states.

We would like Underworld & Fissure of Woe added to the game.

“Underworld:”
Similar to Guild wars1, We go in with a team of 5, have to complete several events.
Each quest will test the party’s ability in one way or the other.

This will be a great opportunity for the developers to show off their creative ability.
Heck, just take events from the first game and put it in.
I used to love those, keep the reapers if you like.

Drops: ALl mobs have a chance of dropping a glob of ectoplasm.
End chest – chance at precursor and new weps (Ghastly weps, just like the Ghastly grinning shield, but all weps have that cool looking animation)
—————————————————————
—————————————————————

“Fissure of Woe:”
Same deal, as guild wars 1, beat x amount of events and u get rewarded.

Drops: All mobs have a chance of dropping Obsidian shards(account bound ofc) – this gives an excellent alternate to Temple of Balth and you avoid the ridiculous conversion between fractal relics and shards.

End chest – chance at precursor and new weps (Chaos weps, just like the Chaos Axe from GW1 but instead now it’s not just limited to the axe)

Please add a “+1” more support we get, more likely they will add.

Tell me any MMO which doesn’t require “grind”?

Tell me any MMO without the holy Trinity?

Tell me any MMO without quests?

And so on, and so on. The worst thing about MMOs are the MMO players themselves, who are stuck on the same old, same old.

Official answer from Support:

“If you’ve found any Legendary items for sale on the Trading Post, this is not
functioning as designed and should not be possible. We would need more information
on what you saw, as well as screenshots to investigate this issue further.”

So it’s a bug or some error in Trading Post.

Hey, guys,

You need to know: Legendaries are not soul-bound until equipped. So they can, legitimately, be sold on the TP. Once equipped, however, they become soul-bound.

I’m sorry that someone got an incorrect answer from Support about this issue. We have identified the ticket and we will begin the beati…. I mean “gently correct the agent who gave the misinformation.”

Good to see an answer, and I personally dont care if people are able to sell them, the issue is why are the ingredients account and even character bound, and yet you can sell the final product?

Please free up all the items so people can buy and even change with other characters on their own accounts.

I think there is a difference between wanting to take part in the economy and wanting to make it your kitten. It is quite ironic that the current global economical crisis is kind of mirrored in GW2. You got the same kind of wealth gap, and the same kind of attitude on both sides AKA “Y U NO SHARE?” and “TROLOLO POOR NABS”…

Like plasma said, it’s just a game. Most of us, if ever going for a legendary, are going to craft it ourselves. Just because some people raise the valid question of how much gold is too much gold does not mean it’s an invitation for trolls to come out of hiding with snooty remarks.

If you like playing commodity trader in the game, that is your right but do not expect people to think it says something meaningful (either ways) about you.

Its easyer and faster to craft your own legendary than buying one for 2000 gold. Dont know why are you complaining here?

Farming karma, farming jumping puzzles, farming gold, farming skill points. Its still all the same.

No one cares how you got your Legendary weapons, everyone just cares that you have one, even if you bought them from TP for 2000 gold.

I see no reason to complain they are soulbound on use. They are just shiny most expensive weapons. Crafted weapons

And btw I am now halfway to craft my second legendary weapon and one of the reasons I love Legendary weapons is to differentient myself from other players. There are thousands of players running in same gear, same class but having one of the most expensive weapons that no one else has is one of the biggest factor why someone want them.

Much easier to chill at trading post and make money and go to the cinema than to sit and grind karma and items all day. That’s the reason why I’m complaining. This issue appeared literally on the day I crafted my legendary, so surely you can understand why I’d be upset about all that time wasted.

Normal player play the game for fun. If playing TP is more fun to you than doing dungeons, WvW, events … just do it.

I rather play the game than playing the TP so thats why I craft it, not buy it. You can buy it for gold if you want and you enjoy it, I dont mind.

Some people just work years to buy awesome house, some people just buy it from Inherited money. Do you think it was wasted time?

@Hellkaiser.6025

Thx for the info about quoiting let me see if i can come at this from point to point.
The thing is you can get these items with out T6 mats and the cost of these mats are falling as ppl find new ways to get them because there are ways to get every thing beyond just simply one zone farming that was going on when the game first came out (3 months ago). The big thing a lot of ppl miss is any game with some type of wvw system in it makes it a point to be a major part of the game over all. In GW2 WvW is part of pve its not true pvp its more of a player controlled environment vs a computer program environment.
The big thing about daily and monthly is that they are counter grinding tools they are not causing grinding at all. In some ways they taking the ability to grind these rings by making them daily only that may be what making ppl more unhappy then the idea that they have to put a bit more time in to the game then they wanted.
The thing is this game is 2 games in one part is pvp with spvp and the other part pve is well pve and wvw. What you seem to leave out is that the game been out for just 3 months there just been no time for the game to adapted to the players or even to the pc ppl are running. What is wrong is that we have games that have been out for years WoW is the best example of this its been out for 8 years but for some reason every game that just comes out ppl think these games should have as much if not more content then games that have been out for 8 YEARS. So these games must have something to do that take up time so the first new events must take up time but these things can seem as if you MUST do them but there is no need because they are most like going to add in many other ways to get these items. Do you truly thing fractal going to be the last thing they are going to add to this game?

Dec 3 patch notes

“Guild leaders are able to demote other players of the same rank.”

Why is this in the patch notes?

So now if I’m the sole guild leader and I want to upgrade my best man to my same rank, there’s a chance he may turn and demote me, effectively stealing my guild from under me? I don’t understand why they changed this.

Because previously, once someone was promoted to the highest rank, there was no way at all to demote them.

If your “best man” decides to “steal your guild from under you”, you have very poor judgement and probably shouldn’t be a guild leader in the first place.

Besides, If you’re that worried about that possibility, simply don’t promote them to guild leader…?
