I spent a couple of days working on it.
Let’s just say that I bumped my 1 month estimate to “3 months” ;__;
Guys — you have the information you need, and this thread is becoming unnecessarily caustic.
We know everyone is disappointed by the delay — no one wants this new content in your hands more than we do! But things happen, and we let you know as soon as we knew we could not hit today’s release window. So please, let’s just look forward to tomorrow. In the meantime, I’ll lock this thread.

Hi all,
You’ve probably noticed that the champions in the labyrinth haven’t felt as challenging this year as they did in previous years. The only actual change to them was a bug fix to the lich to keep him from summoning unlimited minions at high event scaling. But they all felt easier because they hadn’t kept up with the power growth of the player base. We gave them all quick buffs today.
Additionally, with this map being as profitable as it is, a lot of players have started triggering diminishing rewards. That’s just not cool. So we disabled diminishing rewards on this map.

Hi all,
I signed off on the first episode of Living World Season 3, and we’re getting ready to announce the episode and its release date. I’m super proud of the team for hitting this milestone. Over the past few weeks the team has been processing up to a hundred pieces of feedback each day, working to get all the details right.
Reaching sign-off on an episode doesn’t mean we’re done. Now we integrate the episode content with the other updates that ship in this release, and with localized text and voice-over, and we do final testing of all that. To give a sense of the scope of this process, this update has about 1,500 distinct lines of new voice dialog, each of which must be recorded, integrated, and tested in each supported language. For the player character’s voice, we separately record each race/sex combination in each language, so that means 40 actors for each line.
With this release, we’re bundling a Living World episode with additional content for other areas of the game. You’ve seen that we’ve been following a pattern of releasing a bundled update each quarter; this is a content-focused continuation of that kind of thing. Of course, we’ll give this release a name, not “July Quarterly Update”. And we may be able to increase the pace, ramping from four bundled releases per year towards six, so we’ll move away from calling these “quarterly”.
Some of you may look back nostalgically at 2013 when we shipped updates every two weeks. That year we shipped a wide variety of things: nine or ten releases that we’d today call a Living World episode, plus updates to systems and content for other parts of the game, plus festivals. So it was the extreme unbundled version of this. It was nice that there was always something new, but I’m personally not wistful of that cadence, because we sacrificed so much to be able to ship that frequently. With Season 3 our goal is to deliver content sustainably, at quality, establishing a pattern we don’t have to take breaks from.
It feels great to be shipping Living World again. Thanks for your patience through the recent content draught. Having been through it, I’m sure you understand why I’m focused on sustainability.
Stay tuned for a more formal announcement, and for more details from ArenaNet and our partners.

Hmmm… Idea. What if, once players have maxed their Mastery bar and can’t obtain any more, every time they gain a “level”, they instead receive 1 Mystic Coin? If there are fears about this possibly generating too much supply, ANet could cap it at, say, 5 extra Coins a day. (Exact amount open to tweaking.)
Interesting. This thought emerged from story-driven side quests mentality, so no new cosmetic stuff, but mainly story to weave LS chapters better or give a bit of depth to some characters. Still, I’d like to know if these story bonus packages were around $5-$10 that would be OK (not with gems)?
They would have to include more story and/or gameplay than the Bonus Mission Pack did. $10 (or £7 at the current exchange rate) is about 20% of the price of a full game, so I’d expect about 20% of a full games storyline for that price.
Edit: To clarify I’m completely in favour of new story, whether it’s playing through historical events or seeing new developments. I’m not opposed to paying for that with real money. But like any purchase I want to make sure I’m getting reasonable value for money. I won’t go to the Chinese restaurant that charges about £30 a meal when the other one in town is just as good and charges £15, and I won’t pay £7 for 5 minutes of story when I can get 30 minutes of a (different but equally good) story for the same price elsewhere.

…so what would hard actually look like, to you?
Probably removing (most of) the hidden part of all the traps. As it is, it’s a test of memory, not reflexes or strategy. Not even a test of observation and attention like Pain Cliffs is.
You find a guide, because otherwise you’ll be dying a lot, and you memorize the path. Done.
If it were challenging/hard content, rather than punishing content, then you wouldn’t need a guide to avoid a hundred deaths.
That might be hard mode for the regular game, but it wouldn’t fit the Zeldathic theme. In fact, the entire reason I don’t like games like that is that they are set up to be nearly identical each time, that the entire challenge of any mode is about learning the route and remembering where to turn, twist, hide, fight, avoid fights, etc.
Again, I think the point here is that the OP doesn’t like the challenge of tribulation mode. That should be okay with them and with us — SAB isn’t for everyone and Tribulation Mode is for a smaller subset.
Just because we don’t like something doesn’t mean it’s poorly designed or inherently flawed.
tl;dr it’s okay not to like SAB and it’s okay not to like Tribulation Mode. That doesn’t mean they aren’t “hard” and “harder.”

bound by NDA? Why even post this? Just to let everyone know they were passed over for something they never had a fair shot at being considered for?
Why? For transparency and as a means of communication, which I think we all agree is a good thing.
Too, I see some concerns about claims of world firsts. ArenaNet doesn’t track, verify, record, or reward world firsts. But making public that certain guilds were involved in testing seems appropriate and relevant in that context, does it not?
I have to say I don’t agree with the last statement. This post essentially sounds like “Neener neener, look what these guys are playing and you aren’t”. As Mireles put it, it’s not like the rest of the community had a shot at it to begin with.
On a personal note, I don’t think these kind of guilds should be the standard to base raid difficulty on. I absolutely DON’T want any content that is only beat by stacking as many damage multipliers as possible, which is what these guilds seem to only be capable of doing. It’s boring, and it only incentivizes more “berserker meta” playstyles.
That’s exactly how I feel. And that’s why I’m so disappointed with ArenaNet’s decision.
Yikes, there are a lot of ignorant statements in this thread. I’m hoping that Karl doesn’t take suggestions from people who don’t understand the meta across all three major game modes.
Well that’s so vague as to be utterly meaningless.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
- Jareth, King of Goblins.
My biggest issue with Overloads is that we are punished too harshly for trying to use them. Or rather, we are not incentivized enough to use them. The way I see it, Tempest’s biggest difference from vanilla Ele is that it discourages Attunement dance. However, if they want to encourage staying in an Attunement with the eventual goal of Overloading, then not only does the Overload have to be powerful, but there also needs to be some inherent bonus to staying in the Attunement while the Overload charges up. At the moment, our weapon skills have too long individual cool downs to make Attunement camping worth it, and auto-attacks other than Fireball and Lightning Whip are lackluster. Which is why I keep suggesting a Grandmaster Minor trait that gives us a stacking, Attunement-specific, non-strippable, non-shareable buff each second that we remain in an Attunement.
Would you be satisfied with something along the lines of~
- “When your current attunement is recharged you gain +15% cooldown speed on all weapon skills.”
Which would make Tempest completely unlike core Elementalists in wanting to stay in a single attunement to pump out that single attunement’s effects faster.
It makes popping the Overload (with it’s stun break ) a real tactical decision and not something you mash as fast as it comes up. Camp your souped-up sped up weapon skills or throw the big button and move on to another attunement?
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
- Jareth, King of Goblins.
They will be disabled.
That’s more information about raids than we got from announcement and few blog posts.
it´s a remain of the merged thred, Knighthonor, Someone there brought furth the suggestion that raids would go over the whole of a week maybe, wth timers and stuff.
If it takes too long to finish (due to wipes) then a “save state” is a great alternative.
Otherwise you’d have to re-start every time, making the learning process very hard. With a “save state” over a week your team could practice the next boss until you get it, instead of doing the entire run from scratch. Save states that last a week aren’t a bad thing.
As ArenaNet President Mike O’Brien detailed in a recent announcement, ArenaNet is committed to protecting your game account.
Effective at 11:59 pm Pacific Time on August 28, 2015, all newly-created accounts will have SMS restrictions. These restrictions mean that you will not be able to use in-game mail to send items or gold, and you will be unable to access guild vaults. If you wish to eliminate these restrictions, simply add SMS or an authenticator to your account and the restrictions will be removed. Account created prior to August 28 will not experience these restrictions.

Pretty much any healing rune will work except for Dwayna, as I just recently learned the regen from it doesn’t work with Soothing Disruption.
Soothing Ice looks like a tempting trait over Stop, Drop and Roll, but people forget it loses synergy with stone heart, because you can’t be critically hit.
You aren’t going to kill anyone with this, but that’s not your purpose. It’s to peel for your team with all of your CC and keep them alive with all your healing and boon sustainment while they kill people for you, as well as to hold points until they can arrive.
(edited by MadRabbit.3179)
The biggest problem with Tempest is that people seem to think that Tempest must be an upgrade to what they are doing right now, which is simply not the case. Tempest isn’t supposed to make all current builds obsolete, it’s supposed to be one of many possible builds.
The fundamental issue ANet needs to address is that it’s currently way too easy to make an ideal build and literally thousands of other build possibilities are viewed as useless as a result. So sure, as long as that’s broken nobody is going to be happy with getting something added to the game that isn’t better than what they got in every way.
I need a “WTF” emote here…
What exactly lead you to believe that non-sense? I have tried Tempest extensively all the beta week-end despite me not liking it, but truly wanting to, and trying to wiggle my build any way I could to find something remotely as viable as what I knew and was sorely disappointed to conclude that the best I could do was not even close to anything I already had and no different save for the pretty animations.
Nobody I know wanted to have anything better. I wanted something different that was equally viable. And in that regard it is a failure. I’m often defending ANET vs many ridiculous comments posters make but here I won’t. It is a legit failure to me and no number tweak can fix this. It is a conceptual problem.
I have to say, Tempest is better than dragonhunter
Not after the buffs the dragon hunter just got.
How do you see yourself post-HoT?
I will still main my ele, play the good old builds and be like this when I see people playing other classes with their awesome elite spec:
The general consensus and a review points to this topic having run its course.
I’d just like to add that making an assessment of a game while in beta is, at best, premature.

Any player can experience LS Season Two at no cost by simply joining the party of someone that has unlocked it, and plays through.
If one is interested in only the story, and none of the rewards/achievements, they could post in the LFG and seek another willing to open the instance. Or just ask friends/guildies, of course.
Good luck.
And it will But first Jurassic World! Be back later tonight with an updated version!
As we mentioned in several posts on the forums and in various other media, we have been reading and gathering your feedback about the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns pre-purchase.

Sorry for my bad English to everyone read this .
I write this only hope GW2 could succeed in China .
Chinese server was start running in 5,1,2014. GW2 has sold 1.5 million copies,His price is $15. One year past. Every my friends was AFK. GW2 active players only less than 50000 people.
Chinese player who is playing WOW,still have Six hundred and seventy thousand.
Chinese player who is playing LOL,still More than twenty million.
Why would GW2 so failure in China?I think ANET Should have a good reflection.
The following are some of my ideas:
1 Chinese players is generally believed that this is a well-made games but have nothing to do.
2 The game rewards are very bad.
3 Almost all of the new skin is by buying rather than the game content.
4 Poor PVP qualifying system,Individual players to be a team player played badly.
5 WVW , let a person feel boring, until one day Plugin completely destroyed WVW.
6 Pets are too realistic, no desire to purchase and collection.
Some of my personal advice:
1 More powerful challenge,Five people can kill Zetan is foolish.
2 More dungeons or BOSS in the world,Can drop the careful design of the skin. The production of fine some BOSS model also please
3 SAB can a month or two months open once, like next to the dark in the circus.
4 KDW is a high selling SAB’s skin, in April this year did not open, is the result of your conspiracy?
5 To a once a week based on the occupation of the city’s war, it is very interesting. At the same time give special reward.
6 Please continue to improve PVP queuing system,Otherwise the new players will be less and less.
7 Where is true sense of the guild war? A guild can have 250 people, they also have the elite in the 30 people or so
8 Let the arms and the lion’s skin can be gained through the game content, can add some limitations.
9 For the role of PVP players to design new medal, let players can show in his own name, just like players hate VIP badge.
10 PVE area will allow players to a duel.
11 HOT in some special areas to allow Talking of cabbage players can kill contract team players.
12 I am super like GW1, but disappeared in GW1 many advantages in GW2.
13 If you want to earn more money, GW2 need larger player base, and Chinese players are rich enough and full of taste, rough design items, Chinese players is purchased.
Chinese server is waiting for ANET redemption.
Add a piece of advice?
Three different classes of players for a city or a regional territorial rights, only a week in a weekend at a specific time of war. This is based on Chinese history and novels. Now the WVW occupied the city but has no influence on PVE, to reward WVW player is also very low.
(edited by alberte.2685)
GW2 is more CPU intensive then it is GPU intensive. The majority of your lag is attributed to CPU bottle necking, so getting that replaced will show vast improvements. GTX 970 is a bit over kill for this game, but Im sure you play other stuff too.
Permanent Super Adventure Box Contract
There is a world of difference between “traits unlocking system” and “traits system”.
