Why does everyone hate Trahearne?

Treaherne’s voice with its flat, dull, and lifeless quality, I can’t help but FEEL is done on purpose. Heck his Wyld Hunt, the purpose of his creation, is to cleanse the taint of Orr. Something he studied for most of his life, and deemed impossible to do and too massive. Of course he would be depressed worse the Charlie Brown post-football attempt.

Oh dang it. Now I can’t help but view Trahearne as Charlie Brown. Someone should put the shirt on him, and probably would improve his image.

The part that simply boggles my mind about him and his story though…

Is his “Rallying Speech” he gives to the Pact. In his dull, flat, lifeless voice. And has the Pact cheering afterwards (Likely under pain of being trampled by an Asura Golem if they didn’t).

If only, if only. He had an Albino Flesh Golem with a Black Horn, Black “Ears”, and a Black spot on its back. Not to mention being effective to a degree that would make having Trahearne along tolerable in combat.

Why does everyone hate Trahearne?

Trahearne was very very bland in everyway possible.

His look, his attitude, his voice, and how he carried himself.

People really want to know why people dislike Trahearne ?
You would THINK a Field Marshal leading a charge against the the Dragons would be epic, but he carries out tasks like they were boring laundry.

The factions fall to Mr. Vanilla-icecream’s commands, but I can not believe or buy it for a second.
Then as it nears the end
Trahearne actually stops fighting... yup... He just plants his kitten tree-sword and no longer helps you in the last battle with Ziatan. So he sits in his base while you end the whole thing, Lionguard NPCs are more helpful than this green kitten

Trahearne and Logan Thackery remind me of “scumbag-steve” type of friends, the kind that ask for help from you all the time BUT never think to stop to help you outside their own personal agenda.
That’s why people hate them both… or my personal reason. I am sure most people agree with me.

Please explain what’s wrong with representing the guild you’re in? Either you’re a member or you’re not. If you don’t want to represent a guild, you’re motives are questionable and a kick is warranted under certain circumstances. A guild wants to achieve it’s goals. In many cases that means people either co-operate or get out.

Most people will probably disagree with you, but I’m with you completely.

I’m in one guild.. one guild only. When I joined my current guild, I left my old guild and I rep on all my characters 100% of the time. Why? Because I like my guild, I want to help them out and represent my group. If I didn’t then it would be pointless to be in the guild to begin with.

Aside from clicking ‘Represent’ in the Guild Panel, my Guild asks absolutely nothing else from me. I do events with them when I feel like it and other times I filter out Guild Chat and do my own thing. I don’t get why anyone would have an issue with Representing their guild.

Why can't Superior Runes be Mystic Forged?

I feel like allowing these to be thrown in the Mystic Forge for a random, new Superior Rune/Sigil would be good for the economy. The prices of the most useless Superior Runes/Sigils would increase, and the prices of the most demanded ones would decrease.

We wouldn’t sigh when the Soulbound runes/sigils—an exotic drop!—landed in our inventories in dungeons, as we do now—only able to vendor them for ~2 silver.

It would mirror the existing situation with armor/weapons (Exotic armor/weapons can be combined for a new Exotic).

Any economy reasons for why this isn’t allowed?

I could have kicked them all right before final chest but I’m not a bad person.
But if I wasn’t team leader they would have kicked me.

No. Plain and simple. Learn to do more than just AE tag mobs. These changes were made because people sat there all day tagging mobs. Champions were the perfect addition.

#1: Champions
It also doesn’t help that some players will outright ignore them and would rather tag the regular mobs – I know cause I do it.

Exactly why they implemented it the way they did. Now you can’t freeload while others kill the vets/champs. This is one of the only changes in the patch I like.

Incoming Precursor Price Adjustment

Willywho.9460

I don’t agree with this, I would think the more people that are able to afford the mats/Ectos that goes into making the legendary the more gold they will have free up to pay for the precursor making the thought of a legendary more realistic for some.

At least that’s how I am feeling, If I don’t have to spend so much on ectos/mats, I’m more apt to spend the money to buy the precursor.

I don’t think comparing precursors to ectos/mats is the right thing to do being that with the last patch farming these things has gotten A LOT easier (hence the price drop) but no adjustment has been made to precursor drop rate so why would the price drop?

PS. Devs never said Precursors would be rewarded to everyone in guild, Devs said the chests from guild missions have a chance to drop precursors… probably the same chance as them dropping off dragon chests, which we all know is slim to none.

I don’t think you guys get it. The point of events is that they all have roughly equivalent challenge and reward for the zones they are in. The point is that you shouldn’t feel it’s a good call to stand in one place and do the same stuff over and over again.

Plinx, penn/shelter, centaur bridge, etc. were outliers simply because of their design. Any event that hinges around large waves of enemies was originally designed to make the challenge a large wave of enemies, not designed to be a better source of loot. Sadly, the scaling was never right, so the largest waves of enemies simply drew the largest waves of players, which completely trivialized the events and turned the mobs in to worthless pinatas.

Arenanet doesn’t consciously design “farming spots” because they don’t want you farming in “spots” they want you farming via “adventuring” as in, going out, running around, looking for different events to do, and doing them because they’re fun, or because they’re next to that resource node, or because you hit them on the way to a merchant.

This is why they limit rewards from the same dungeon path, and this is why they’re making events scale better.

Now, there ARE problems with the implementation of vets/champs in event scaling however. Basically, the point of events was always meant to be the event rewards, not the mob loot. However, the event rewards have always, always, since launch always sucked. Thus, people used certain events as a farm for the drops.

The scaling needs to stay challenging, and I’d like to see the new penn/shelter scaling experiment proliferatred throughout the game, but not if event rewards aren’t boosted to account for the fact that gasp you might actually fail some events now.

You know those “screen chests” you get when you do zone completions, monthlies, and dailies? Why not just attach one to events, and make event-spawned mobs not drop loot at all? Then you’ve got a perfect system where people are actually doing events to… finish the event rather than to farm loot. People that want to farm loot can still farm loot from ambient mobs where the spawn and drop rates are tuned to what Anet obviously considers reasonable.

Yes, you used to get more loot from penn/shelter. No, that wasn’t the point of penn/shelter, and it was obvious it would get fixed eventually.

IMO events should simply be more rewarding than the mobs they spawn, which would encourage people to do events they like in stead of the events that are just a good farm.

If your build is dependent upon, rather than supplemented by, food then you’ve done it wrong.

If your build depends on the developers next balance patch, then your doing it wrong.

Luckily for me I had the foresight to NOT build my characters around a single skill, trait, attribute, and certainly not food.

You can’t place buy orders for less than the vendor price. At release, and for a month or two after, it was possible to place buy orders for less than vendor price. That has since been changed. Any buy orders you see like that were placed before the fix. Anet has mentioned looking at finding a way to flush all those orders that can’t be filled, but I can’t imagine it’s a very high priority right now.

If that is worth complaining about then I don’t want to live on this planet anymore. First world problem, seriously.

Amazing that some people are suprised by this “nerf”.

And I just love the people that claim they have little staying power on warriors. Maybe its time to rework those all out dps specs and go for a more balanced approach. A full dps build should not have massive staying power.

I felt full dps on a warrior was squishy, so I changed traits. Now with a balanced amount of armor, damage, crit, crit damage and passive regen things are very smooth. Healing around 1000 health over a period of 3 seconds is pretty nice.

Adrenal health 360 each 3 sec, healing signet 200 each sec, thats 960 during 3 seconds without adding in any healing power, WvW bonuses, consumables or runes.

Combat is dynamic, you cant expect to be pure melee. When you need to gain distance, dodge, weapon swap and use gun or LB. With the right spec you will have more or less infinite endurance aswell.

A thing that was obviously imbalanced gets fixed and people go about like its the end of the world.

Yes, it is totally baseless that I have played both and know from first hand experience. Completely baseless.

Zerkers don’t have to “die fast”… you even said they can be played without the food buff (to try to win one of your points). But then apparently they all just die – no DPS for your other point. Just more double speak.

Again, as I have said, the food nerf is not without repercussions… and those repercussions are not limited to the people donating the food items for the good of their party.

You’re right i did say they can. The bad warriors complaining that this is a nerf, can’t. It’s that simple. A good Zerker can survive and they dont go “LAWL Whirlwind into danger, Hundred Blades, Die”

Those complaining this is a nerf ARENT GOOD WARRIORS.

Done addressing the sheer amount of herpderping in this thread though, may your tears do something productive.

Sorry, but i’m done speaking to you, your post alone shows how you are, you should just return to other games. (like wow. ) Where everything is carbon copy and nobody is different.

Good joke. I can’t help it Arena Net actually fleshed out more viable builds than you can comprehend but are too unwilling to do 10-20 minutes of theory crafting to test. Believe it or not, the build i showed you isnt the only build i use on my warrior. I have several other Melee based builds that work and dont require gimmicks. What they do require is a brain and that sadly is what separates good players, from mediocre ones. If you don’t want to put in the time and effort you will never improve or get better, that has nothing to do any class balance arena net does.

Never once needed that food for my warrior.

already sub-par classes

Hurrrrrrrr.

So what do you deem sub par, considering the thread was moaning about how this directly nerfed warrior.

Let me guess, Ranger ?

You were misreading me I think. I wasn’t getting at warriors being somehow nerfed by this, I was explaining why people would be/are angry at the changes. Their hamfisted approach affects warriors much less than, say, an Engineer who relies on many fast hits with Flamethrower to keep his health up. That is, a rather squishy class that is forced into melee range.

Engies are every bit as good at PvE and not nearly as squishy as people want to believe. Then again most people love to do all the damages and none of the tactical positioning.

Again havent had a need for food on my Engie either… Also theirs really no need to get in melee range with them considering grenade kit is amazing and out ranges rifles.

Grenades, huh? So, that one build everyone uses because its the least bad. Great design right there. No problems whatsoever.

Never stated its the only build, just said its a build that lets them stay safe from melee range. The have a few decent melee range builds. Mostly revolving around bombs / elixirs to keep up boons. Essentially it turns them into the Engie version of D&D Ele with a bit less upfront spike but more utility.

Except this food really didn’t effect those builds that much, it mostly effected Melee Warriors/Thieves more then anyone else because of there high hit-rate attacks and the fact they “have” to be in melee most of the time.

Yeah, the people taking 12 stacks of bleeds and constant almost one-shot aoes.

Yeah, you know i dont see it…I can cleanse a condition every shout, have 3 shouts. I can Heal for 50% of my HP every ~30 seconds. If i need a quick heal i can shout once again on roughly ~20sec cooldowns and get healed for ~1.5khp

So really what’s the problem ?

I dont need the gimmick of food to be stupidly tanky and survive burst. I can still do all of this with a Greatsword, and guess what because i dont have to worry about DPS’ing from the floor ever. I put out more sustained DPS than any Zerker warrior, who basically falls on their face when blinked at.

Shouts have had there cool-downs increased to 250 seconds from 25.

Your build is no longer viable.

That is “nice” but I don’t care about your build, I care about mine, and its not there anymore.

I then replace it with banners / stances which can perform the same role.

Notice the difference between you, and me ?

You complain, I adapt.
You abuse mechanics, i don’t.

It’s not a issue of underpowered warrior, it’s an issue of the player being stubborn.

Might as well role Guardian or Elementalist then.

Or you could still play warrior as they are perfectly fine.
But i think you’re that kind of guy who rather than work at being better will just shift into the “new OP” and then complain again when that gets nerfed.

I was a Knight’s Warrior, I didn’t have much DPS but I could tank with my group with Shield/Axe, now I cannot.

My Defense Tree has almost no boons like other classes get, I don’t get Protection or Regeneration, so I can’t take heavy hits, my only option was the food, and it worked because my attacks hit hard and fast, which other classes don’t.

I got nerfed bad, sorry to say this, but it wasn’t even called for.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Item_nomenclature#Triple_attribute

There’s far better tanking stats than knight’s… Especially for Shield / Axe. Why dont you read that for a bit and realize where you went wrong.

Nevermind that, walking contradiction spotted in post after your edit.
paraphrasing this “Lawl guize watch me tank, i built dps and no survivability to do it”

And you wonder what’s going wrong ?

Toughness is practically useless without HP to back it. So to call yourself a “Tank” is a disservices to those people who are carrying you hard.

What I’m seeing is
“Oh no! Now I can’t faceroll absolutely everything while churning out DPS anymore. I quit!”

I nearly laughed out loud when I read some claiming that warriors are no longer viable because of this nerf. How are you spec-ing yourself that you can’t tank anymore? “Tanks”, in a standard game, sacrifice DPS for survivability – they hold aggro, they are not the damage dealers. If you’re running with crit, you’re not going for a tanky build to begin with, and that’s the issue.
You can’t have both.

In the end, there are 3 options:
High survival + low DPS
Med survival + med DPS
Low survival + high DPS
Within these, you usually have a couple of build options you can use. If you have one class with High Survival + High DPS, while the others don’t (let’s face it, some don’t even have high DPS at all) that is not balance. That is being OP.

Relying on food THIS powerful, and ANY of you expected it to NOT be fixed?

Glass cannon with super high damage and crit = more sustainable than builds that try to be sustainable through ordinary means. You thought that made ANY sense?

Good riddance to any idiots who leave because of this. The fact you had to rely on some consumables to play the game shows how bad you were.

Warriors complaining that they’re not sustainable…how laughable. Try putting that GS/Rifle combo and that zerker CoF armor away for once.

This. My main is a warrior and I always wondered why I was looked down on for running Knights armour in dungeons. I knew what food the other Warriors were using but I didnt know the extent to which it could heal because I use Axe+Mace/Shield. I just assumed that they were better at survival techniques than me.
