BLTC needs to be cleared from buy/sell offers that have been there for ages and cannot be fulfilled. You know, those same orders you’re complaining about? You are aware that such orders cannot be posted anymore?

It’s not because they would impact trading at all. I’m just tired of seeing 120th topic about this.

Part of T1, I missed the match-up by seriously 5 seconds and ive been in queue about 40-45 min now.

What we think will happen: playing, killing, yaks, etc.

What will happen: wait, what color are we? Y U NO WORK, BLUE GATE? Wait, when was the last time we were red?! Oh, our map looks great…. oh, we’re X color this week? Oh.

On the topic of Precursors and Legendaries, I feel that Legendaries are something that every player should have the chance to achieve within reasonable effort during their lifetime in GW2. (My frame of reference is that a casual player who plays an hour or two each day should be able to gain a Legendary within a year or two. I understand that Legendaries are intended to be a long-term goal, not something a player earns within a few months.)

I’m not advocating that a Precursor be handed out at the end of the Personal story, but perhaps one should be handed out as a reward for doing ALL of the following:

1. Complete your Personal Story
2. Complete at least 20 Slayer achievements
3. Defeat a number of unique bosses throughout the game world (the Shadow Behemoth, the Fire Elemental in Thaumanova Reactor, the Blood Witch, the Champion Karka in Southsun Cove, the three Dragon champions, among others)
4. Complete the Weapon Master achievement in the weapon of your choice

After all that is complete, you travel to the Dominion of Winds where you are granted an audience with a Tengu Elder Sensei, who challenges you to a special duel (instanced, so you have to do this alone). Defeat her, and she deems you worthy to wield a Precursor weapon that matches the Weapon Master achievement you have completed.

I think all that would be worthy of granting a player a Precursor, and it would be a lot more memorable (and fun!) than simply grinding gold in the TP or throwing items into the MF.

I do not do dungeons or pvp. I also prefer to not jump, but I do it on days when my hands are working enough to do it. (I have arthritis and I am slow, so I prefer to solo any jumping puzzles I MUST do, so that I am not holding up anyone, and frequently dungeons require jumping…..imagine me in a dungeon with jumps. The entire group being held up while I figure out how to get my hands to work correctly to make a particular tough part—-no thanks.

So. Another monthly passes me by. I am not being forced to do it, yes. But it would be nice to get one. Just one. A year. I could live with that.

The OP conducted this over a massive sample size for the purpose of data acquisition. The fact that you happened to get one on your first try does not change this data in the slightest.

The OP conducted this over a miniscule sample size for the purpose of data acquisition. He’s testing for something that presumably has a rate of occurrence significantly below 1% but only has a sample size of about 400. A “massive sample size” would need to be in the tens of thousands at the very least. For this test, if we assume the rate of the mystic forge granting a precursor for 4 rare items is 0.5% then there is a 13.5% chance that a person putting 1600 rares (that is to say, 400 trials) will fail to receive a precursor. If we drop that assumed rate to 0.1% there is a 67% chance that no precursor is created. If we up the assumed rate to 1% (which seems awfully high to me, and would imply about a 5% rate for 4 exotics) there’s still a 2% chance a person would put 1600 rares into the forge without receiving a precursor back. While that seems like a low percentage, it actually implies that out of every 50 people that try with 1600 rares, on average one of them will fail.

The fact that someone else got one on the first try does not affect these data at all. However, it’s a huge mistake to try claim that these data represent a “massive” sample size.

You’re right, I should have said “comparatively massive,” because 400 is orders of magnitude greater than 1.

Either way, you’re seem to be missing the point of my post. I’m not claiming that the OP has created a statistical opus magnum that is the definitive test of the mystic forge – obviously a test orders of magnitude would be preferable. I’m saying that offering the statement “I got it on my first try!” is asinine as refutation of a testing pool 400 times larger.

It’s not that the OP has pinned it down precisely – far from it. But he’s gone a hell of a lot further than rolling the dice once.

I much prefer the female animation for carrying the sword around. I think the male animation is all like “Durr, look at mah shiny sword. I’mma wave mah sword around so everyone can see it. Dodge roll? Nah, bra, then people can’t see mah sword!”

Females are like “I need to carry my sword low and behind so I can lean into the sprint and achieve greater velocity. In this manner, I can more quickly arrive at my target and remove its head part from its shoulder parts”.

What I don’t like, however, is the animation for the third auto-attack swing for females. At least for guardians, it’s an awkward uppercut type move. I would much rather see an overhead chop type move. That being said, the male animation is even more awkward. Thrusting with a greatsword? No thank you.

Anything that has multiple projectiles can proc at least once but probably more if you dodge it.

Actually even to go farther than that, as a necro, even if you flip the stability (corruption boon it into FEAR), he immediately reapplys the stability and cannot be CCed at all (IE he doesn’t get feared even for a second). We were tooling around with these today, and I had a corruption well on its feet, and it still wouldn’t flip the stability.

EDIT: On the other hand, it is nice that they finally fixed the loot tables so that these very difficult and time consuming to kill mobs drop loot that makes them worth killing.. wait.. trollface

This. This a thousand times over. I’ve seen people complain about precursor prices (at 200g) then get their legendary, and suddenly they are telling people to stop complaining about the 600g it now is.

As much as I agree with the if-there-is-a-queue-give-up-your-spot theory, it doesn’t hold in this case. IT’s not like this were 20 people that didn’t WWW at all and holding spots for a full day.

This were a group of people that fought long, then RPed some, then fought again. You can’t tell these people to go away from WWW, just because they only fight 90% of their time there.

If you do, what’s next?
Tell people that aren’t 80 to go to WWW when there is a queue, because they’re only 90% as efficient as an 80?
Tell people that don’t have full exotics to stay away when there is a queue, cause your stats are 10% higher.

TC is a RP server. You got to respect people that fight 90% of the time and RP 10% of the time IMO.

The only thing they didn’t do yet is to announce legendaries can have their stats changed for a 25g fee as many times as you want and will become account bound (both things would be great, but I mean announce this before fixing precursors).

they don t have to announce…
They have to do it so speculators are hit hard.

They have to learn the risk of going too far losing most of their money.

They did a good job with lodestones, now speculators will jump on precursors.
If they do something about it when is least expected they will score a good point against people that makes game worse for most players.

Come now. Respect should work both ways. If people expressing their concerns with the update should word their worries with respect, so too, should the people disagreeing with them.

WvWvW reward system must incorparate a DAOC type reward system.

All 5 man groups get a 25% increase in WvWvW points. (aka realm points)

A rank 1 rated toon is worth 100 points. If the player is killed by 10 people who damaged him, they will recieve the points reative to the % of damage done.

Example: I solo and rank 1 person. I get 100 points
5 people kill the rank 1 person. I did 55% of the damage. I get 55 points
20 peopel kill the rank 1 person. I did 4% of the damage. I get 4 points

5 man partys get a 25% bonus only if under 10 people damage the target.

As you rank up your value is higher. Example: rank 5.5 = 155 points.

i see were you are going with this but a simple who did the most damage gets more credit will not work imo. That just screws the support guys. Support do not get enough of their just dues as it is.

if 2 groups come head on at each other say 20 each. team X has all dps builds and team Y has some support and bunker builds mixed in to push, I will put my money on team Y every time.

i don’t want a system that will cause all the support guys re spec or leave. I like those guys giving me those stacks of might,stability, regen and more.
