I’m still waiting for him to publish his thesis about it.
Konig Des Todes IS the Loremaster of Guild Wars.
But can he see why kids love cinnamon toast crunch?
Yes he can and he wrote a 20 page essay on the subject.
Sorry that this “name and shames”. I tried to edit but I’m woefully bad at doing so. Anyways, here is some screenshot of an ANET employee kind of being a jerk to us who were GvGing. Hopefully I don’t get infracted, but I imagine it’s coming.
Enjoy,

Situations for Banner of Strenght:
-if there is already a War with Discipline
-if the boss is crits immune
end.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
Yes, i use 5 chars at time. Because REASONS.
I don’t run with bads and I don’t use bad builds so I can’t relate to any person or group whose build or team is so bad that banner of strength be even close to better.
Just for fun…
170 Power = ~8% dps boost
170 Pre = ~5% dps boost
15% crit damage = ~10% dps boostLooks like guang was right, Yaki. Apology incoming?
170 power = ~8% dps boost
170 Pre = ~0% dps boost
15% crit damage = ~0% dps boostwith PVT or condi build.
Your math is incorrect. Adding 8% chance to crit on a PVT build will still increase the dps by the factor I indicated. It will still be an increase on a condi build as their pitiful direct damage would be increased by the same factor.
And who cares about condi builds and PVT? This is a thread about pve min maxing, not a voyage to scrub city.
I want a legendary bear, too.

GoM→NSP→AR→NSP→GoM
Nice tool so far, but too bad most people don’t know they have access. It will get better when more are using it.
Things I would consider changing:
+ Allow us to accept/reject incoming members. Anet probably wants to reduce discriminatory grouping, but it is way too easy to have undesirables and griefers join. Especially when you consider that you are advertising more elite content like fractals 40+ and team arena, the group creator (another distinction Gw2 unfortunately fails to make) should be allowed some discretion.
+Sometimes you simply want to advertise an event (say, in wvw or open world pve). Like “need more help at Balthazar”. Your primary intent is probably to advertise this to your entire server, rather than just to have 4 people join and remove the event advertisement from the LFG tool. But I think this would be solved by letting us accept/decline incoming party requests.
+The tool should not prevent you from browsing other groups while advertising one of your own. Two groups could be advertising for something similar but not realize it due to this restriction. Or, I may begin by advertising for a certain activity, and then notice someone else is advertising for something that seems more fun…etc. Please remove this restriction if possible.
+Reword the “Living World” section to sound more inclusive of general open world PvE, and not just Tequatl/other 2 week event farming.
+Give the option to reveal all of the LFG listings, rather than clicking through each category over and over again.
+Upon mouseover, display the zones that the group members are in (might be more difficult).
+*Annoying*: Message suppression occurring after making several LFG posts/edits in a short time.
What are your thoughts so far?
Zulu Ox Tactics [zulu]

They ought to hire you Konig like how they hired Angel.
Sure, we accomplish a lot and can wield powerful magic, but what’s to say a level 2 farmer can’t do the same if he gets to be a level 80 farmer, using powerful gear?
Well, let’s look at the facts: pretty much every NPC, even those who are trained militia tend to only attack at a rate of one attack per second. The every player character, regardless of profession can lay between two to three hits with their basic attack alone, and if it is a “one-per-second” attack, it usually possesses a lot of bells and whistles that make it worth the low DPS, I’d say player characters are decently special.
Also, watch an event sometime where NPCs charge a fortification and have no player backup, chances are, they get creamed. (A centaur fort in Kessex hills is a good example), notice how ally NPCs will have the numbers of more than most PC parties.
After the Seraph or whoever get creamed, storm that fortress yourself. Chances are, you will walk through it and over everyone inside with gusto.
This puts the average PC somewhere in the range of “one-man army” special.
Finally, watch in Ashford Plains how charr soldiers, you know, those guys from a quasi-facist race who have built their entire society around military, get their kitten handed to them in one-on-one combat with… Devourers. Not even Flame Legion, but you watch them get their furry tails handed to them by pests and local fauna.
How did they become a powerful nation again?
I’m pretty sure that the gap between regular NPCs and PCs is, lorewise, smaller than it is in game. Part of it is that we’re just smarter than the AI – we pull off our stunts through pulling off tricks the AI can’t, if we behaved like the AI, we probably wouldn’t have as much better success than our friendly NPCs do. Consider Destiny’s Edge, for instance – according to the lore they’re hot stuff, in practise they tend to spend most of their dungeon time waiting for a revive.
Another part is simply to let the players be the heroes. ArenaNet wants to make is so that the players are making the difference, so even if lorewise the friendly NPC organisations are actually holding their own more often than not, ANet makes it so they’ll usually lose without PC involvement.
The third part is, I suspect, that is implicitly assumed that, in each player’s play experience, while their PC is the Pact Commander, those other PCs running around are not. Instead, depending on the zone, those other PCs are taking the part of local militaries, mercenaries, lower-ranking Pact members, and so on. So, for instance, if you take the northern Harathi Hinterlands event chain… what we SEE, during more active times anyway, is often a horde of players swarming over everything, and the odd token NPC. I suspect that if we get told the actual lore of those events, though, it’ll turn out that the bulk of the force was Seraph, with a few heroes (you, and maybe your party or guild) lending a hand.
Or to put it another way, the PCs are the bulk of their race’s military power, even if their personal story says they’re not actually a Seraph or that they’re detached from the Legions or whatever. Realistically speaking, the dozens of PCs that are on a map at any given time can’t have all individually gone through the same basic fifteen or less sets of experiences, so from each players self-centric viewpoint, its they who have gone through their personal story, and the other PCs they see could have had backgrounds entirely different from the PS – including being formally part of the military of the region they’re in.
That said, referring back to Elric’s note – it is canon that what the PC does marks them as Someone Very Special from level 2 onwards. The “tutorial” mission, according to the lore, is something that has already lead to them being labelled as one of their race’s heroes.
While, lorewise, characters DO increase in power, the mechanical level of the character is not a direct translation of the power they have in lore (otherwise, you’d have to explain massive differences in the strength of common animals like wolves depending on where they are, and that’s just silly). Lorewise, the difference between the newly-acclaimed Hero of Shaemoor and the level 80 Champion of Orr is probably closer to the difference between them in WvW (when the new Hero of Shaemoor is sidekicked up to 80) than what you’d see if you dragged a level 2 into a level 80 zone without sidekicking and compared them.
Essentially, according to the lore, a level 2 PC is probably already superior to a level 80 NPC who isn’t at least a veteran or higher.. The PCs are special right from the bat.

I’ve only had this game for at most two and a half weeks and I’m greatly disappointed that this error keeps popping up and stopping me from playing a game that I’ve come to enjoy.
I think this is a poor job that I’ve yet to see an actual solution to this error and to have wasted my money on a game that I can’t even play now I did’t even get to play it for a month I’ve been using multiple ways to try to fix it and I still don’t have any good results.
I feel cheated mainly since I’ve been working for my character.

Your reward will be based on the server you log into the first time once the season starts. You can transfer as much as you like, but you will still get the reward from that first server.
Good luck next week ET and DR, And my heart goes out to you DR. I hope you guys can strive in the coming months again and rebuild.
Goodluck to everyone. No forum trolls please.

Forever together, or not at all.
Early this year, we had an exodus. It sucked. Life sucked for a while as we went on a downward spiral through the tiers and morale tended to sink.
Somewhere between here and the left turn at Albuquerque, we started finding our way again. Long story short, here’s some of the highlights, right now.
- Strong oceanic coverage with enthusiastic WvW’ers(often considered a luxury in most servers).
- A strong, growing WvW community that’s recently taken in several strong WvW guilds from other servers (who out of respect will remain nameless) in the last few weeks.
- A very active MeatSpeak (Teamspeak 3) that stays drama free 95+% of the time.
- Superior Siege that’s publicly funded for ALL our commanders as much as physically possible. Granted I have to get off my butt more, but our last siege drive included almost 2 full stacks of sup. ballistas, 2 full stacks of sup carts, 80+ sup. trebs, 50+ sup catas, 75+ sup rams, 50 alphas and about 20 omegas within 40 minutes. And that’s just what I saw myself. Other people grabbed all our blue siege and just turned it into purple seige so I’m not exactly sure what those #‘s were, but we had several stacks of everything. It’s a LOT, OKAY?!
- Can you lead? We pay for your tag. Show us you can we’ll put you on the qeue for the next tag. We’ve paid for 6-7 of the last WvW commander tags almost exclusively out of public server donations. Monowrath got his tag a few days ago and after proving he’s ready for one, we went from 0-100 gold in 35 minutes. New record <3
- A strong emphasis on Defensive play that revolves around the pug. Pug’s a broad term but generally anyone not doing a specific guild-focused team is a pug, so that includes tons of active WvW guildies anyway. THUS, we put a ton of emphasis on hero players making hero moves. You’re all the vertebrae in our backbone. We put a huge huge emphasis on scouting, clutch siege placement (SUPERIOR siege is a huge emphasis on IoJ) and good siege gunning.
- A very very strong emphasis on keeping our borderlands clean. Even when there’s very few people in there
- Strong emphasis on camp defense. This includes siege, all the way up to a superior ballista meat grinder. And we enjoy placement that encourages them to actually come INTO the camp, giving everyone more action and more kills once in ballista range.
- Emphasis on not letting supply rot. Got extra supply in the EB keep? Let’s manufacture some golems and stage ’em!
There are just some of the examples of our play style that’s helped us grow. It centers around the Pug, and frankly we like it that way. We have some GvG action, not a whole lot but some, and yes some of us do fight clubs.
This week is an easy matchup for us, so i’ll have lots of downtime if you have general questions. Whisper me (nom x 5) or hit us up on teamspeak @ voice.isleofjanthir.net:9988
Thanks for puttin’ up with my paragraphs.

Moved here 7 days ago along with my guild RUN. Gotta say we’re happy we transferred. Excellent community, excellent WvW, awesome orginisation between guilds and commanders.
I highly recommend this server to guilds or people who are looking for good mid-tier fights.

Hopefully these are very easy and cheap to make. Like couple gold. I need to make like 20 weapons straight away.

Ascended gear is better than exotic gear with the same stat combination, even when the exotic has a jewel of the same stat combo. In addition to better stats than exotic, ascended gear has an upgrade slot.
This is what I think as it would resemble current Ascended trinkets compared to exotics..
EDIT: The upgrade slot can probably only be slotted with infusions http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Infusion
EDIT2: On top of this I would assume that you’d also have an upgrade slot for sigils.Yea my main question is whether we will have a slot for sigil. Anet please clarify
“· Legendary Weapon Updates: Legendary weapons will receive a stat boost, an Offensive Infusion slot to align with new Ascended weapons and additional functionality, among other things.” preview from Kotaku.
Personally I think it is a good idea, it forces players to choose between sigil and extra damage. It is sort of like the green weapons in guild wars 1, technically better but kittenter because you could not modify.
Umm, no. GW1 greens were worth pennies. Legendaries are not. If my hundreds of hours of work go down the drain because I can no longer customise the weapon like any other weapon (IT’S ONLY A SKIN), then I will be lost for words as to how stupid Arenanet have become.

This thread…..
DR: I am one of the anonymous bads who has faced you many-many times over the months. To the people transferring: our servers may not have liked how the other thought the game should be played, but it’ll be unfortunate to lose you guys as competitors. Hope the new situations work out.
ET: when the mud starts flying everyone gets hit. Please keep in mind the opinions expressed on the forums by individuals are just that. I watch the progression of the servers in the lower tiers (we’re all lower tier) and have been following how things have been improving there – which is great. Nothing but good things to say about the ET people I’ve run into in-game so far.
PPT: at the end of the day is just the carrot and, until something is done to address the population imbalances, means little. It gives us something to shoot for but there are a number of ways to measure success at the end of the week.
[Bags]: You yanked me off a cliff! Thanks for the laugh even if it was at my own expense. The second time you tried it though I popped stability and took all your bait ballistas to pay for my repairs…..everybody wins.
Let’s all just chill out and enjoy some competition, in whatever form you consider that to be.

Great fight in IOJ at NE camp a few minutes ago, I thought the fight was never going to end. Hopefully the rest of the week is just as fun. GL to both servers.
Stop asking guys. Just wait. Its only 2 weeks away.
This is Guild Wars 2. You can miss a lot in two weeks.
