Its not a cheat. Its an abuse of an unintended mechanic (ie reviving not caring if there is a wall between the reviver and revivee).

It is however an equal opportunity abuse. AoE doesnt care about walls either and a zerg is highly likely to kill whoever is trying to revive from behind the gate. Guardian staves and all manners of AoE kill everything.

So yeah… Do you want to remove AoE from the game? If so I’m fine with removing the ability to revive from behind the gate, lol.

What I don’t get about most of these comments, is that you guys seem to defend the skill, while still saying its bad… If its bad, then how about trying to come up with a way to make it valid, while still not OP?

Any players with decent experience will run when they get moa’d. That’s the ultimate point of the skill when facing up decent players. You stated it yourself. It forces Lich necro to get out of the fight, it forces annoying bunker GD to get out of the point, it forces condi engi to run, and so on.

Another reason for using it is when the team wants to focus kill, which in that case you won’t survive anyway, the moa comes in just to make things a bit easier.

It’s the whole point of the skill, warding one person out of the enemy team. It’s just that the jackpot fell on your head. The skill will never be removed just because it’s OP in 1vs1 aspect which is not what the game is all about. It turns 5vs5 into 5vs4.5. And THAT’S THE WHOLE POINT OF IT. IT’S AN ELITE.

On the contrary, Lich form can instab gib 3-4 people in less than 10 seconds. You should be complaining about that instead.

Just to clarify, many came to the conclusion that there were no WvW development team anymore it is only because for almost a year we heard nothing from you guys on promises updates , like the borderlands Orbs coming back differently. It’s only natural that we started to believe that you are working on another project when you’ve been silent for such a long time.

Finally, some in the community had the impression that bumping old threads were the only way to make their points across (a 1-year-old thread is an old thread to bump indeed, but 1 year is also a long time to wait) and perhaps they were right, as it seems we wouldn’t even be having this conversation if they had not done so.

Again I can assure you, the developers are reading the forums regularly, even though they don’t have time to post a reply to everything they read. Additionally, as I read these forums probably more than anybody here, I regularly compile reports for the competitive team to make sure they are up to speed on your concerns and desires. Does this mean your every wish will be granted? No, it does not. What it does mean is that the team is regularly being made aware of how the community feels about the game and what features, content, etc. that you like, dislike or want to see in the future. What it also means is that we take note of when you all ask for or suggest a feature that is currently under development, so that down the line, when it’s actually released and a bunch of people clamor to the forums to complain that “nobody asked for this” (you know who you are), we can refer back and be secure in the knowledge that somebody did, in fact, ask for it.

I would just like to point out, and I hope you realize this, that the first dev post in MONTHS in this subforum since the tourney reward debacle was… yours. To tell us to shut up and stop bringing up old threads.

It’s not about developers reading this forum and not having time to reply to everything. It appears that they have no time to reply to anything.

I’m glad you’re compiling reports. What exactly do those reports contain? A lot of the threads over the last couple of months have simply been people asking if there’s anyone still answering phones over there, and that’s because we keep calling, the phone keeps ringing, but there’s nobody on the other end.

I’d simply like to point out that your follow-up post to the sticky feels somewhat ironic to me, and even the sticky itself perhaps a bit insulting, in that the only response that we’ve gotten to let us know people are reading this forum is that someone got a little miffed over thread necros and decided that it had to stop.

If you think your post ended up being longer than it had to be, it didn’t. We needed to hear it. All of it. People are leaving. People have left. People have been considering if there’s any worth in investing our time and money in this game anymore, and we absolutely, 100%, needed you to write every single word of that.

No we should all make copies of already existing threads. I’ll be getting right on that Anet!

That’s quite a hilarious response from ArenaNet, to be honest.

They should just stop dragging this out and properly announce the shutdown of WvW so that they can spend their ’limited resources’ on PvE. It has already happened as far as us the players can tell, so they might as well make it official and end the miserable existence of the game mode.

I *personally believe* that the only reason we’re not hearing more from ArenaNet on this subject is because so long as there isn’t any negative media attention they will continue to keep it going as-is to milk whatever there is left to milk from the WvW playerbase. I bet if there was negative media attention, we’d be seeing a blog post about ’the future of WvW’.

The bias to the wvw community is really strong. I thought mods were supposed to be neutral to everyone. Apparently that isn’t true anymore….

Worse… it wasn’t just a moderator, but a developer that posted it. Also he says to make NEW topics referring to OLD threads, but proceeded to LOCK my thread about the WvW Blog post from 1 year 2 months ago without even a word or reason why. It was a new thread asking about the state of the WvW Team.

You don’t. Skilled opponents will always recognize which is the real mesmer instantly, so you aim your playstyle to beat those skilled opponents. You use your toolkit to avoid/disengage/etc, but not to fool people.

I don’t know why this has been bumped, but most groups will not hesitate to chase and down a solo roamer in many cases, so I don’t care if anyone else adds in to make it a fair fight, even when they get zerged down; sometimes it’s their just deserts.

Just out of curiosity, what did a person do to deserve that just because they happen to be alone? As I explained, a lot of us are merely trying to do map clear and we swear to you, by all that’s holy, you’ll get rid of us a lot FASTER if you’d just let us finish that.

As I also said, it’s usually quite obvious when another player IS trying to do map clear as they’re generally heading toward a POI or Vista.

Why do they need to have “just desserts” for that?

As I also explained, usually we steer clear and give other loners (of the opposing team) a wide birth. It’s pretty obvious when two opposing players pass each other and are giving each other that courtesy.

Yesterday, I was about 3 steps from getting up to get a vista and someone just HAD to come over and kill me. They just couldn’t wait until I got the darned thing, that’s being a very poor sport. CLEARLY I have no ranking and am helpless so they could have waited 2 seconds for me to get the stupid vista to kill me if they HAD to. But these guys were on the road (presumably going to a battle I could see going on a bit further north on the map), but they veered off their group to come over.

Since I was THIS CLOSE to the vista, and obviously not part of the enemy going to, or holding down the fort at the attack site, there was no real strategic need to kill me, other than out of sheer vindictiveness.

I think a lot of people forget that there are actual, you know PEOPLE on the other side of the monitor and not some imagined jerk that they have to “get”.

Some of us solo roam because Anet forced us to, if we want to do map completion. I applaud the class and sportsmanship of those who (especially when it’s SUPER obvious a player is headed for a POI or Vista) just leave us the heck alone. I wish we were allowed to message other players (the opposing ones) in the game, I swear I’d give them a big thank you and “well done sir”.

And a huge boo on the poor sportsmanship of those who stomp the single player with 5-15 player groups. Wow, what a massive accomplishment that is. So much skill and effort required there (there aren’t enough rollie eyes).

If you just leave us the heck alone, we’ll map clear as quick as we can and never darken your HardCore WvW points game again.

I had an enemy uplevel in WvW just trying to get from his side of the map to our side to get a Juvenile Salamander Drake. My party mate killed him thinking it was funny, so I left the party, re-invited the enemy, and escorted him all the way to my spawn for the Drake. Even politely asked several server mates that got him into downed state not to stomp so he could get the pet. All-in-all, I got him all the way there and even saved him from the monsters before he WP’d out. I just finished mapping on 1 char, and it was tedious… Don’t think I will be doing it on my other 7. Also, I hate PvE.

Dear Anet,

right now there are few servers that are fightings other servers for a long time.
It would be great if you would look on these matchups and manualkly adjust next week reset so you will break these chains and servers will be allowed to go up/down based on their performance.
For example, check Arborstone and DL how they are doing and the gap between Baruch and Arborstone.

Playing A Mesmer Is Like…

…jumping across a minefield on one leg with a glass of water on the head while juggling with three eggs, just because your bosses are jealous of you being good at juggling in the first place.

…driving an antique coach with three horses: everyone looks at you open-mouthed for a minute or two, but then turns on the stereo, puts the air-con to a comfortable temperature, and gets to their job 10 times faster than you.

…being a can opener next to a bunch of spoons, forks, and knifes: the poor occasionally need you to open a tin of beans, but rich people rarely eat tinned food and it is served opened in the restaurants anyway.

…being a 2 year patient who’s ready to see his next organ fail in the results of each new medical test.

When the action on a BL is light there is no need for a tag. You see something that needs to be done and you do it. I stick to our home BL and represent our little guild of 2 people, the wife and myself. If there is a push on a keep or tower and they call for people I will go, tag or no tag. If there is a camp to flip I will flip it. If there is a tower to capture I will set up a cata myself and start hammering away, eventually people will come over or I map call for help when the wall is down.

Too many people are sheep and need the tag to be effective. I do not have a tag, neither does the wife but there are many times we will have half a dozen people following us because we do what needs to be done. If there is a ktrain running we normally avoid it and go capture camps or other objectives, set up siege, refresh when needed, repair as required. Do not put yourself in the position where you need to be told what to do, find things that need to be done and do it.

Wellz; not that we’ve been there in a while, but roaming always is and was best in Silver imo, since we got pushed up by bandwagon free transfers roaming has been awful.

The amount of condi running around here is awful, and I’ve taken to hauling around Stealth traps just for that one Kodash thief who spends years contesting our Keep and is reportedly paid mucho gold to do so, not to mention the Deso gank and emote spam squads, because roaming 10 man is fun

Anyway silver is the way to go, the only thing keeping me as a roamer here is some form of loyalty to Gandara, that and I have 200 something Gold trophy finishers left saved especially for Deso. Although I won’t go in depth into calling them out as a wretched hive of scum and villainy, because with what I’ve written already I will be sporadically bold-texted into the ground about how Deso is the best thing since sliced bread by Deniara. In any case there is no server I, and many others, hate more. Their reputation is anything but ‘the best puglicious server’.
