Because mesmer are so used to being an awful class, we feel like something’s wrong when we aren’t.
The problem with this "fix" is that pet swapping already has a cooldown, and that cooldown is not the same as the cooldown on Clarion Bond.
There is no UI indication of the cooldown anymore, making Clarion Bond not only more difficult to use but also punishing players for swapping pets when a cooldown that they cannot see is still running.
Giving up the pet swap cooldown makes you vulnerable to losing your pet, but gives you boons with this trait. It’s a good trait in the sense that there is a risk/reward choice but this change makes using it a bad gameplay experience.
MtD was not really OP… Right now with a 6 clone burst I can get 8 stacks of it on a target. With rabid amulet they tick for ~1200 which lasts like 4 seconds (it says 7, but it takes time for the clones to catch up and pile the torment on). Not to mention this is predictable and dodge-able and requires the mesmer to be in point blank range. With the old MtD this would be 16 stacks, ticking for presumably ~2400. Compare this to engie and ele who are currently enjoying 7-8k burn ticks, and I don’t see Anet rushing to nerf that at the moment… What the hell?
Edit: Oh yeah, and this combo is even less likely to hit when fighting on point because of all the aoe cleaving clones before they can shatter. GG.
I’m glad I didn’t preorder the expansion yet.
What people here are really trying to say is, “I played Mesmer before it was cool. I think I’m going to play insert profession so I can try out this new build. You’ve probably never heard of it.”
All I have to say is … Wow! Cannot believe stealth uptime. Can only imagine an eventual nerf, but still.
Please delete this thread and no one is allow to make a thread like this again. Do not bring attention to ourselves. Big brother is watching…….

They can indeed check both forums. But the people that are working with bugs are not the same people that usually hangs around here. Therefore it is a much swifter process to post it in the right forum section at once rather than having a moderator simply move the thread and/or have one of the WvW people telling one of the bug people about the bug.
Why not remove the middle-man and just give it to the right people at once?
You also seem to use the word griefing in an incorrect way.
So you are saying the people that work on WvW don’t read the WvW forums?
I mean…judging by the changes they are making you are probably right.
In an ironic twist – the forum rules are enforced faster and with more authority than the in-game ones.
Same uplevel FA warrior using falling damage to repeatedly knock people over. It is hilarious. Except that it isn’t.
Yes, I have reported this via the exploits email address. But I think it’s important to note that people are very frustrated when this occurs and the feeling is that when the violators are reported using the in-game mechanism, for example for botting, nothing ever happens. Doesn’t matter how many people report it. Yes, I understand that ANET doesn’t care if 200 people report someone, but don’t they have an obligation to investigate it? If given the violator’s account name and description of the violation and the timeline that it was witnessed, you would think that it would be enough.
It seems that either an anet employee has to see it himself while in-game (which prolly won’t happen b/c the anet tag sticks out like a sore thumb), or there’s got to be irrefutable video proof (and even then, there’s no fast guarantee). Anything short of that, there’s no ban. The feeling is that it just doesn’t seem like it’s a priority for ANET to investigate these reports.
The first time I encountered this FA hacker was when I was on a catapult hitting Garri, when all of a sudden, I was repeatedly getting knocked around by this falling uplvl warrior, pushing me all the way to the cliff. This hacker continued to do this to other players for many hours in plain sight in front of scores of players, even after multiple people have reported him on both servers. It totally ruins the game experience when this sort of thing is allowed to continue.
I caught a few hackers on video, and reported them using the in-game tool. They just came back the next match, nothing happened to them, so I posted a video too, identifying them; I thought it might help find and punish them. The post was deleted and I got an infraction.
That’s when I realised that it all must have been a big misunderstanding. There are no hackers in this game. Why waste time on negativity and harboring black thoughts when we could be checking out the latest great promotions at the gem store? There’s a new Mini Beetle that you can have follow you around for just 500 gems.
Is this okay? Can I post this?
I agree with every single word and the intent of your posting.
I know I’m not supposed to point fingers and show names but I am trying to help here and this person is ruining the match up so to speak. Feel free to remove my post if you need to admins but atleast take a look at this video proof 1st. Thank you
So I was streaming and someone in my chat on another server told me their keep was being hit by someone they could not see or target. So I suggested that they turn on auto-targeting and try spamming ranged skills all over till they got a target but they had no luck so I took it upon my self to tread into hostile territory to take a look and see if was someone on my sever. Turns out it was.
And space ships, add those. And satelites for better scouting, wormholes, also possible…
Or perhaps leave stupid things outside wvw?
Right so focussing a commander in a zerg that is crippling itself by being entirely Reliant on one individual is cheesy now.
Maybe it would help if 99% of the commanders weren’t stupidly easy to spot on purpose.
This is just stupid. I love it.
The Op’s Asuran-fetish is concerning. If he drives a van in RL he/she should be arrested on sight.
Crystal Desert
Actually, I had make my Charr warrior a mix & Match that looked greatly as a giant bee (some cultural, some festive itens). I’ve removed that look a few months ago, But I’ll try to make it again to post to you bee lovers
This game is BLEEDING players and a lack on anything activity wise is why. You need to do something. Have another WvW tounament. Have a random bosses start spawning in populated areas. I don’t really care what, but this lack of content is driving people away. I get it. You are working on the expansion. That’s fine, but you can’t neglect the core game in the mean time.
This game doesn’t have the numbers that games like WoW does that makes it capable of surviving long term neglect. The gem store is not content by the way. We need real content even if its just something small to do while we wait. I tried playing WvW a few times over the past few days and it is just dead. Lets get something going guys. Ok?
Asura only

Gemstore skins are basically getting extremely annoying, all I see is “Here is some armor that we could have put in game for you to earn via achievements and/or new content but no, we are being lazy and just wanna milk the cash cow a little more each week.”
Outfits themselves are a strange option in a game where prestige is ‘cosmetic’ as there is no real customisation to outfits and there are plenty of sets being wasted. Imagine if the Chaos weapons could be earned by a new dungeon-esque Fissure of Woe?
I get some might be saved for HoT but there have been the following in the gem store;
- 22 Gemstore outfits
– 21 Weapon sets (multiple weapons in each set, average 11)
– 21 Full armor skins
– 55 Standalone helmet/weapon/armor skins
If that isn’t a drain on creative resources, I don’t know what is.
In comparison via typical updates since launch we have got;
– 1 Outfit (Hexed)
– 5 Full Armor Skins – 6 more are simply variants, not unique sets (Luminescent and Glorious Hero’s)
– 4 full weapon set (one for each wep and colour/particle variants not included e.g. SAB and ascended)
– 34 Individual weapon skins as random Champion Bag drops.
– 13 Standalone armor pieces (colour/particle variants are not included)
This is one of the reasons the game is getting stagnant. Would it be so terrible to spend less time on the gemstore and more time on new content that might keep the player base around?

You were wearing red, I was wearing pink. We encountered each other near the steps to the castle. While I appreciate how intensely it appeared you wanted to meet me, I found you a little grabby. I’m sorry I had to smack you like that, but you wouldn’t take no for an answer. Next time, maybe play a little hard to get?
You need to find your inner lamer and start to use some ultimate cancer build.
Seafarer’s Rest EotM grinch
Honestly, I think this is one of the worst builds that has been suggested for being used in dungeons that I’ve ever seen. Please never use this.
Downside of this is that there is a kind of witch hunt going down..I was roaming wvw for daily purposes, evaded with Shortbow skill 3 upon stumbling on an enemy but dc’ed after that. Upon returning (yay for ssd drive
) , I got this whisper from someone who’s name shall remain hidden (although my fingers are itching to place it here!!) that he has reported me for speedhacking ! I explained to the player this was not the case, but sure enough, player blocked me..
How is ANet dealing with false allegations ? Any of you encountered this ?
This is the result of the general population’s perception that Anet doesn’t act on hackers (it’s irrelevant whether they do act or not). If you think lots of hackers are around, you’re going to “see” one every time you witness something unfamiliar (like the shortbow 3 example here). This means tons of false reports that make it even harder to deal with real hackers.
I’ve said this before, to solve this, Anet needs a “surge” of devs who, for a couple weeks, will act and purge the game of hackers/trolls. Reducing the perception that hackers are everywhere will reduce the number of false reports, and will make it easier for devs to check up on reports once the surge is over.
Reduce the max number per map by 20 to 30 anyway. The Map-blob Pirate-ship Meta is killing WvW.
If only they had added an opt out function many many people would be playing today. But it was not only offensive to many many people, but it also caused a health risk. Alot of people have only been able to play for a short amount of time as the screen flickering caused headaches and migraines. And I hate to think what it might be doing to the epileptic crowd.
You can turn off the sepia and flickering effect by turning off post-processing. Just FYI. I turned it off myself because it was giving me a headache.
I expected a new map for pvp, not a jumping puzzle.
How about double the initiative cost for the next use of the interrupted skill?
Id prefer the thief just die of a stroke. Call it interrupt heartbeat.
