Do you want more gold sellers? Because that’s how you get more gold sellers.

Back to topic: NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
I paid 34.99 for the deluxe edition…. The rest of what I am doing is FREE…. So not sure just what your Issues is.. Unless you want the Core game free and if they did that would be no money for them… Sorry but if you think any games are free and you can be competitive.. Please Clue me in…….

F2P = bot invasion
Dear.
Mother.
Of.
God.
NO.
I can guarantee there will be two immediate problems rising from going F2P (because this is exactly what happens to other games that go F2P):
- Massive increase in gold spam because gold sellers don’t need to buy/steal accounts anymore.
- People exploiting multiple accounts to get around restrictions (imagine half the people at world bosses being alt accounts AFKing to get the daily chest, or your entire team in PvP being full of AFK characters because two guys on the enemy team decided they wanted easy wins).
F2P would be ruinous for GW2, never mention it again.
must be my lenses wearing out, all I read is “I want to gank people with worse stats”. And “alpha male”, lol, yeah, the ladies are already swooning for those mad gaming skillz.
Joke thread or troll thread…or both?
I can’t tell…
The game has no monthly subscription. Is a one off purchase. People choose to spend any extra money through the gem store.
Why make it free to play?
At one time, there were a lot of teleport-farm-bots that did exactly what the OP describes. They were thick in some maps. It can be very difficult to catch their ID and report them. They banned a lot of accounts at one point for this activity, and since then, I haven’t seen any more. If these teleport-farm-bots are showing up again, it may help to let ANet know which map you saw them on, which area of the map, and at what time of day.
The new player experience is nice for the items and stuff you get every level, but i would like to bring something to Anets atention. The first few levels of a game are what make people want to stay or not, by removing alot of the events in the beginning of the game and making some of the most viable options for leveling Tomes of Knowledge, Crafting, Grinding hearts, or EOTM. you make it less fun for those who wish to sit there and see all the events as there are not many. one event i personaly liked was the fire shaman outside lake Feritas in the plains of ashford. i went into the cave today and found it was removed, that and the exit to the second part of the zone is sealed off. The skillpoints per level also made the game very fun before, unlocking skills one at a time was nice also. Anet with all due respect, you have not taken a step forward. you took one backwards.
Edit: Adding onto all of this, as others have said. the leveling process seems slower than ever. i created a new warrior so i could experiment with the ways to level, after quite a bit of doing that, i’m level 60. but i can honestly say, before the NPE. thing’s were quite nice, now it’s all dull.

You can, and always have been able to, send reports of hacking/exploits to exploits@arena.net
I’m not sure how the Team ‘sifting through reports’ keeps item prices high or forces players to buy gold or gems, but…whatever. /shrug
I was basically saying if it doesn’t earn Anet money, they have no initiative to do it.
It has been something players have asked for since launch, and it has still yet to receive any attention.
Reporting gold sellers, however has initiated a response from anet.
(originally you were unable to report goldsellers’ mails….. but Anet added that feature, since it was hurting their cash/gem/gold profits.)

Upvoted.
Though there is no solid proof how Anet works with their cash… players can speculate it pretty well… given the fact that there are still tons of unfixed bugs with the core game mechanics that still are making ppl scream “wtffff…” imo, as a “Loyal” customer, I don’t need any more new features… just fix the game and ban those cheaters’ IPs for life please…
Man I hope they fixes all there bugged events or most of them. I would really like to go back and just roam tyria doing whatever just so happens, like they keep advertising but its hard to do when a large majority of the the events are bugged.

This “new player experience” and the new trait system totally ruined the game for me. After leveling 6 characters up to 80 I don’t really enjoy this new way at all.
For me it feels like instead of 80 levels, Anet has lowered the character level limit. Because, leveling up means my character grows and gets increased stats. Now it does not happen, only after certain amount of levels (3?) – between the stat gains for me it feels like no leveling up at all, the “player experience” is slow and sluggish, I feel like something is holding me back, compared to the “original” player experience.
Wish I could choose whether I want this “dumbed down”, level-gated experience or the original one. Or it should be only for the first character per player, because afterwards it’s rather annoying than useful.
Just my $0.02.
This is a known issue. Thank you for making sure that we are aware of it though!
Please prioritize this, it is actually making me queasy in dungeons.

It’s funny cus their whole new thing that anet is trying to push out is dynamic events. How can they do that if a large chunk of current events that are already in game either never start or bug in the middle.
They are wanting to push the NPE but many of the DEs right out of the gate in Plains of Ashford are bugged. These are all the first impression DEs that the New Player’s Experience.
1) Protect the weapon parts from the Flame Legion: The followup: Clear the Flame Legion cave near the wrecking yard. No longer follows up. Seems to happen a few minutes before rather than right after.
2) Lure out devourers to get at their eggs – Kill the giant enraged devourer to quell the uprising. No longer seem to start. They used to be on the same timer as Kill the rampaging skale. Now who knows? Upon 1st instance of the zone activation. But never after that?
3) Clear the lake of tar elementals – Destroy the Flame Legion braziers – Defeat the Flame Legion Shaman. This chain doesn’t seem to ever happen anymore. Or again upon 1st instance of the zone activation?
4) Kill the rock drake broodmother . Lord knows what sets this off. Might happen once per day. Or upon 1st instance of the zone activation?
These are all the baby DEs that new Charr characters will/should/might come across. What is the message being sent to New Players? Nice game we have here, but it doesn’t quite work right yet?
Just a friendly thought but, can we slow down on LS & feature patches and get the core game stabilized.
Is there any update on pinning down the camera (and a fix)? I do hope it is in a patch tomorrow. I’ve taken to just going to my map screen to avoid the camera altogether, and that sucks because I’d rather watch others fight on the occasions that I go down.
Please someone come in and say you’re at least still working on it or something. >.<

“Devouring the Brand” – bugged since kitten release, first thread reporting it 2 years ago without response
from wiki
“This meta event will often stall at any of the events involving the Siege Devourer as an ally and objective. At some point the devourer may become neutral to enemies and stop advancing, and Sentinel Whiptail will return to Brandwatch, making impossible to continue the meta event.”
“In Pursuit of Knowledge” – "When event “Halt dredge expansion by defending Fridgardr Lodge (48) fails”, the event to recapture the lodge sometimes (always) won’t ever start; blocking event progress."
And the worst part about it is that they are required to unlock traits.
I don’t even hope for response.
Combo fields and underwater combat could definitely use a tutorial. I think I was level 40 before I even figured out combos existed, and suddenly playing was much easier. Underwater combat requires a different perspective and it would be good to get a tutorial for new players.
I will make a video, for those who did not play GW1, a lot of this is already in full concept.
The announcement information was seen when you login (not in a launcher), and was also available in-game from NPCs. The HUD was fully customizable and there were just much more freedom given to player in regardless or how they accessed information about the game, and how they viewed it. Oh and they had a further back camera zoom which was also awesome >.>
I’ve never played gw1 so this was good for me to see.
I really wonder why they don’t have it in gw2…
The only reason why it might not have it, is because ArenaNet thinks were to stupid to use it….
Look at the new lvling system. It is all about being to dumb die/dodge/ress/switchweapons etc etc….
So is that what they think in general of their players? give them less options so they can’t make mistakes?
Makes me kinda sad tho….
Btw: It’s Sey-Shi-zo ^.^
Currently there is no way to tell who exactly kicked you from the group. Even if you report all 4 other people from your group – who is gonna get punished? The one who started vote kick? or the one who seconded? There is literally no way for GMs to get a proof of bad intentions unless some sort of conversation in party chat took place which is hardly the case.
On the contrary in you have the party leader – he is the one responsible. Thats why in MMOs with party leaders ppl hardly abuse that role. In GW2 there is no personal responsibility for any sort of action taken in party – thats why everyone feels do to whatever they want.

I played LOTRO for about 5 years and SWTOR for about 2 years – boths MMOs with party/raid leader system. Never seen any complains in game or on forums about being kicked or leader role being abused.
I can see where GW2 is coming from (democracy etc) but it doesnt work on live servers. In fact GW2 parties are ruled by trolls – and this should be changed. Hardly any player likes the current system. Please change it and introduce party leaders

I too was attempting to search for something in the forum today and became immediately extremely frustrated by typing “au” into the search box, the page reloading, and instantly deselecting the search box. Which btw if you mistype and hit backspace without thinking about it, the reload is NOT a new page, so you will go back to the page even before that. I agree you might as well just remove the thing. Google autoloads the search results its true but it doesn’t deselect the search box. I couldn’t even tell you if I can get results or not since I’m not even going to fight with it to find out.
So let him alone to explore the game for an hour —- How is showing your friend a bunch of stuff he could discover helpful anyway?
Why should two friends have to feel like they have to wait an hour to play together when they didn’t have to do so before the last feature pack.
As for how is showing a friend bunch of stuff helpful, well it is about playing together in the end. Maybe he could discover all of it on his own as well but this is an MMO and playing with friends is always more fun.
Mind you, there are also things in this game that a player coming for example from a different MMO wouldn’t even know to look for.
I played with my friend. I just didn’t feel the need to preempt the game for him. I hung out, let him take the lead and explore. I didn’t say you should wait. But trying to show him a bunch of stuff he doesn’t have access to, doesn’t help him or you. It’s not giving the NPE a chance even.
What I was trying to show him were things like combo fields (which the NPE never helps you learn about) and underwater combat, enough to give him a sample of what the game had to offer. Of course, NPE locked away any of his potential combo finishers (he was on Mesmer and never got a staff) until later levels, so that fell flat, and it also locked away underwater combat for quite some time. In addition, it was really hard to make it feel like not so much of a grindfest when no events spawned near us You heard that right. We found nada and the guide arrow wasn’t helpful because it was just pointing us toward the dodge tutorial we had already completed.
If ArenaNet wants new players to learn quickly that dynamic events are one of the main parts of the game, they need to increase the density in the starter areas. This may mean making some events run more frequently or it may mean making new events. It should not allow me to run around the starter zone for a half hour not even knowing they exist, and that’s the impression my friend had. He played during the trial weekend and never even learned that dynamic events existed. I couldn’t even say “hey, let’s go do this event over here” because I didn’t get any notification that there was one.
I swear I saw someone post on this, and it’s probably 40 pages down by now, and they’re to cheap to fix the searching ability on their home grown site (which they are apparently really proud of, but which works like kitten droppings, and there are plenty of wonderful, canned forum systems out there these days to use, one of my favorites being the one MH uses, but I digress), and I’m too lazy to use double-secret ‘site:’ commands and elipses and plus-double-minus-bracket-bracket-NEAR-minus commands in Google, so I’ll make my own.
1. Brought character in game that I haven’t played since 9/9.
2. Character was wearing outfit, nicely colored.
3. Logged out.
4. Outfit colors all reset to default.
Is this still being worked on, or is the NPE in it’s final state? It’s been a good amount of time.
If Chris sees this: I was wondering if you got any updates related to the fixing of the Personal Story, eh? There seems to be a few bugs that need to be fixed as I have seen here. :/
THIS.
I just did The Source of Orr (Sayeh appears and fights and none of the other NPC’s freak out, also Reza explains to us the eyes we “saw” [when we haven’t seen them yet under the new order] are his family) at lvl 70.
Then at level 80 I did Temple of The forgotten God (introduced to Sayeh for “the first time”, and finally see the first eye [which isn’t Reza]). Also the prelude to that last Trahearne mentions Ceara not forgiving us for Tonn’s death even though that’s been skipped and we had 0 to do with his death in this version of the personal story.
Dialogue relating to stuff that has been skipped should be thrown out.
And ToTFG should happen before the Cathedral of Silence and Source of Orr story.
In it’s current form I may as well be doing the personal story in fractals.
Because it’s fragments of the original story all in the wrong order.
