He wasn’t killing the mobs, and the mobs weren’t spawning, just stuck.

Nobody questioned that. The mobs are just not supposed to go everywhere. The Lich itself also stops following you at a specific point and resets back to its original position, so do the mobs. This happens with every mob in the game. They have a designated area where they are supposed to be, as soon as they reach the border of that area, they stop following.

The only bug that I once noticed at this spot was, that sometimes a skeleton would spawn and get stuck below the surface of that small cliff, where you can’t reach it. But since the Lich lets the skeletons “explode” with every ~3rd skill, that doesn’t matter.

We do it the normal way and it does indeed not take long. about 2-3 mins incl killing the stupid skels.
The reason most zergers fail it is it scales up horribly and uplevels are useless.

Nope, the main reason zergers fail is, when they are not enough people to facetank/outheal and kill the skels but are also incapable of dodging the “summon skeleton” skill the Lich performs. The scaling is just as it is supposed to be -> for every player who doesn’t dodge the summon, a “stupid” skeleton spawns. Add to this, that noone removes the boons (regeneration!) of the Lich, and there it is, your perfect fail.

That’s also why most players stack, because you will always have players who spawn tons of skeletons (be it due to not knowing the mechanics, trolling, you name it), so the natural counter to that is to make sure they spawn close to one another, so you can at least kill the adds as fast as possible.

And no, it’s NOT faster in a zerg. The fastest kills I’ve seen were 2-5 man.

It’s always the “quality” and not the quantity of players that decides the duration of the fight. It can go very fast in a good zerg. Of course in a small group of people where everyone knows what he/she is doing, it goes faster because noone spawns unnecessary skeletons and the Lich can not regenerate huge amounts of health. In such a group you also don’t need to stack to succeed.

Regardless of all this I would highly recommend removing any player names from screenshots, since naming and shaming of any sort is not allowed on the forums. Just report him/her ingame and attach your unedited screenshot.

If that’s the case, then either those “trophies” need to be recategorized more sensibly, or the bag’s function needs to be changed to work more like the collections tab. That category scheme may mechanically be the explanation for the bag sorting behavior, but it doesn’t make any sense from the perspective of these items’ primary intended use, which is what should really matter.

The consumable thing makes at least some sense but even if ectos, obby shards and so forth are technically “trophies,” their only actual use is in crafting, so they should automatically go in the friggin’ bag. It’s starting to look like not a bug, but instead sloppy design (shadow.6174 got it right). Besides, hasn’t the point of all the recent changes allegedly been to streamline the interface and make it more intuitive?

Again: If “Deposit All Materials” works on a given material in your inventory, it should always auto-sort into the craftsman’s bag (if there’s enough room in the bag). If the deposit function doesn’t work on that material, it should not auto-sort into that bag type.

I still don’t know why people spend so much time on the lich, you get quadruple the bags from just zerging around the middle area, the mobs respawn so fast there.

I don’t know why Ectos and Obsidian don’t sort into the Craftsman’s Bags, but yeah, it’s been like that since forever.

Candy Corn and Rice Balls don’t sort into the bags because they are food items in and of themselves that can be directly consumed.

Mystic Coins might be because they are used in the Mystic Forge, and are not used directly in crafting.

I do agree that it’s a bit haphazard though.

I’m unsure whether this is a bug or not, but most materials auto-sort into the craftsman’s bags while certain others don’t. This affects all slot sizes of the craftsman’s bags, seems to be an issue only with specific materials, and there doesn’t seem to be any particular rhyme or reason for the ones affected.

I thought it might have something to do with materials being tiered or untiered (with the untiered ones not auto-sorting into the bags), but after looking at material tiers on the wiki, that doesn’t seem to entirely be the case. Some of the untiered mats auto-sort themselves into the craftsman’s bags and some don’t. It also doesn’t seem to be related to item quality (basic, fine, rare, etc.).

For example, if you open trick-or-treat bags, candy corn lands in your regular bags but skulls, nougat and fangs go into the craftsman’s bag as they should. You could look at it as “candy corn is also a consumable so it goes in your main bags (see also Rice in Bulk) plus it’s basic while the others are rare,” but then how do you explain ectos, obby shards or dark matter?

Examples of the ones that don’t auto-sort into the craftsman’s bags (there may be others I’m forgetting):

  • Glob of Ectoplasm
  • Obsidian Shard
  • Glob of Dark Matter
  • Candy Corn
  • Rice Ball
  • Mystic Coin

On a related note, there are things that are only used as crafting materials which do auto-sort into the craftsman’s bags but don’t have corresponding storage slots in the bank (I’m looking at you, Blade Shards), but that missing slot is a separate issue.

tl;dr – If “Deposit All Materials” works on a given material in your inventory, it should always auto-sort into the craftsman’s bag (if there’s enough room in the bag). If the deposit function doesn’t work on that material, it should not auto-sort into that bag type. The craftsman’s bag doesn’t work as described for all materials.

What really rankles me the most is how they cut out a large chunk of the Orr storylines. In doing so it bypasses story steps that take the player to Fireheart Rise and Mount Maelstrom, and we miss out on meeting crucial story NPCs that explain a good deal about why we’re doing what we’re doing in Orr.

I’d like the “My Greatest Fear” and “Assault on Orr” to be restored to what they were, and then the final attack on Zhaitan to be moved to a new Chapter 9, if necessary.

If this is how they have changed the story to group by levels then I will go back to playing other games. I enjoyed progressing at my own pace not at the pace of those around me. I tried “the champions train” and it got old fast. I like following the storylines but also enjoy advancing so that I could go back and explore the various realms at my leisure. I had the same complaint with World of Warcraft and their legendary quest line. I am more than happy to take my business elsewhere.

No. It’s not easy. If it was easy nobody would have ever complained about it. And unlike a jumping puzzle, nobody was meant to get there, or the way to get there would have been way more obvious, so obvious anybody would be able to get there just by pressing space, which they don’t.

When I completed the Meta today, I received a mail stating that the second part of the Prince Thorn instance was now available because I had now achieved (and I suppose received) the Candy Corn Elemental. Even though that isn’t the reward (I received the Candy Corn Cob).

So, yes, things are just a bit wonky with all this, but I’m pretty positive the ‘Gift of Candy Corn’ isn’t one of this year’s rewards. (Candy Corn Cobs replacing the larger rewards, and the ability to turn them in for a reward of your choice, instead.)

I think this is more a case of you do not like the way the skill works now, so you come here and call it a bug, when in fact it is working as intended. Your current posts do not provide enough information on what you believe to be an issue with the skill to really get anyone attention or interest.

In order to have a useful discussion about the issue you want to bring up, you need to provide details. Your post should start with outlining, with details, how the skill works now. Then provide details on how you think it should be working. Compare and contrast the current skill with your vision of the skill to provide something for people to comment on. You can follow that information with a suggestion to ArenaNet to modify the skill. Give detailed reasons why you believe your requested change will be better for Guild Wars 2 than the current version of the skill.

Just saying “Fix It” and dropping a couple of video clips is not helping your cause. It really does help if you articulate your concerns and provide details so that others can try to follow your point of view.

Missing tailor vendor/master in LA

Yes, I’ve been meaning to make a post about this! The STITCH golem NPC at the Tailor crafting station near Mariner’s Waypoint is completely missing. It’s not a crucial issue as the Master Tailors at the other two crafting clusters are still there, but it’s annoying since the Mariner cluster is the one I normally go to.

Also, to any devs that see this, there’s a bug where the Master Tailors no longer sell Runes of Holding. Leatherworker and Armorsmith NPCs still do, but the Tailors do not. This is an oversight that should be corrected.

Targeting was re-broken on 9/9. There are numerous other Game Bugs Forum threads to this effect, and nothing has been acknowledged or fixed. Specifically, pressing the key to target “Closest Enemy” is completely busted, and trying to TAB to select the next or previous desired enemy is also working poorly.

  • Almost without fail, targeting the “Closest Enemy” selects someone or something off screen. Almost. Every. Single. Time.
  • More often than not, this target is not even an enemy. (YELLOW text targets are NEUTRAL. GW2 has always been like this, but it’s been even worse lately).
  • Very often, “closest” is not selected. I often wind up aiming at something out of range before the guy right in front of me. (TABBING is all over the place range-wise. I see no clear pattern as to what constitutes the “next” enemy. It seems to be just any targetable thing at any range.)

Yellow targets should never be selected. (Closest Enemy/Next Enemy/Previous Enemy… do you see the commonality here? Enemies!)

Targeting should preference enemies in your field of vision first.

Target Next should go to the next furthest enemy, and keep stepping outwards as you press Tab.

This was all so functional in GW1. Never a problem. Since 9/9 I’m having to go real slow and deliberate in combat just to make sure I’m targeting the guy who’s attacking me and not aggroing a monster offscreen. Not cool.

Yeah, still not seeing it, I do see the pistol whip skill actually going off, but in the first video, target was too far away, and in the second, the skill still went off, but target was behind you.

I’m sorry to say this, but actually having to explain everyone what a skill does is not the meaning of this thread.

Log in to GW2, grab S/P and read the skill. Thats about the basic information you need before replying to a thread like this.

I’ve been playing S/P since beta. And this bug gives a huge (unfair) advantage against opponents with easy acces to Immobilize. In fact, some new players might not even understand why they died while using PW while all the skill effects are flying around.
Its simple, PW failed.

I suppose it was too much to say that the sword attack doesn’t go off when using pistol whip and getting immobilized. Instead, its better just to say “watch the video and use the skill before replying like a noob”

I think that repeat dailies do not count. If you did the “carve five pumpkins” yesterday and then do it again today it will not count. But if you do one that you have not already done once it counts as and achievement – at least that seemed to be the way it worked for me.

Please consider removing the feature that Automatically switch from “Place Order” to “Buy Instantly”.

Example:
- I wanted to place my order, say, 20 [xxoo daggers] @ 1 silver, and
- There is ONE [xxoo dagger] @ 1 silver available right away for instant purchase

Result:
- TP window automatically selects that ONE [xxoo dagger] @ 1 silver and 19 other daggers at higher prices and instead of placing my orders, TP buys all including those of higher prices!!!

Problem:
- If the 19 daggers are priced at 1 gold, then I’ll be so screwed :/

Suggestion:
- Provide two buttons: “Buy Instantly” and “Place Order” beside the “Cancel” button (or whatever layout works better).
- Also, after the order or purchase is made, please show a more detailed message:
“An order of 20 [xxoo daggers] at 70 silver has been placed.”
(instead of a very plain and simple message “An order for 20 has been made…”)
or “You have purchased 20 [xxoo daggers] with 2 gold and 50 silvers].”
(instead of “Pick up your items at the nearest Black Lion trader.”)

Bottom line:
TP should ONLY, and ONLY purchase the item at the set price by the user!!!

Seems a bit contradictory to me. They made the change to help new players yet new players are the ones least likely to the amount of gold needed for a minimum gem purchase.

I think it does change things. Potential new players come to forums of games to see what the community that actually cares enough about the game to post on forums is like. When they see all this, I believe someone who considered buying the game but wasn’t fully convinced, might not buy it after all. Many of the people in my gaming circle, including me, work KIND OF like this way. So I guess it might change things, but again, that’s just a guess based on own experiences, so it might be as well it changes nothing.

Nope. I’m posting to let others read my opinion. If they feel the same way, it’s their own decision to buy the game or not. I post with the intention to let others read my opinion. People have their own feelings and opinions. Thats why person 1 might tend to feel better with gamer 1’s opinion, and person 2 might tend to see that gamer’s 2 opinion fits him more. So if people that kind of expect/want etc. the same things from games as I do, at least they know what my experiences with those things are. Could save them time and money, or they could not care because they don’t feel the same way about certain things as I do. I don’t post to ‘delibrerately deny sales’. If everyone would only read your white knight posts, I think everyone that’s considering to buy the game and goes to the forum for more opinions, and all they read are your white knight opinions, a lot would be dissapointed after some playtime.

But then again, I’m not going to discuss with you, because 1: again you are halting the topic and a healthy discussion. and 2: I wouldn’t even call it discussing what you are doing.

Apparently there’s a large number of people who feel being kind of a jerk is grounds for execution. Yeesh.

It’s a video game, silly. I play them to be absurd, not to consider the moral quandaries of eliminating some pixels on my screen. If I was concerned about that sort of thing, I wouldn’t be playing an MMO where you murder everything to level up your character.
