How do you know the player in the question was griefing? It’s plausible he decided to fight a mob and it’s too much for him and he happen to see this other toon nearby; decided to run over hoping to get some help?
This.

“Give the players what they want” Which players? We want different things.
Further “listening” doesn’t mean “doing exactly what the other person wants” — sometimes, the people offering a criticism confuse the solution with the issue and the company needs to figure out the core concern and address that.
For each controversial change made recently, there have been good reasons:
- Players asked for more challenging content with rewards gated behind it.
- Players wanted more variation from what they had done before.
- Players wanted less visual clutter, so they could see what foes were doing.
- Players requested open-world and instanced content foes that would benefit stats other than zerker.
- Rebalancing is required to maintain a healthy PvE/PvP/WvW and a healthy economy.
And so on.
We can disagree about whether ANet succeeded in finding the right balance in all the above, but I don’t think it’s remotely fair to accuse ANet of not paying attention to our concerns.
tl;dr “listening” isn’t the same as “agreeing”, let alone doing exactly as demanded by the other party.
Exactly this!!!!
And…i don’t even want to go back at the forum after a 1 minute reading…i don’t blame the devs.
One problem: in real life we have to do things we don’t want to do. Communication is one of those things in this situation.

You’re only half true.
The term is never used towards a non-human. In either GW1 or GW2. At least, in large.
In fact, I believe in Ghosts of Ascalon it even says that most asura use it specifically in reference to humans.
Um… I recently played an event in Brisban Wildlands where you had to stop the creatures from massing out the malfunctioning portal. The female asura called the male asura a ‘bookah.’

Do you have a guild? My guild doesn’t care about the meta. Sure, I’m not very useful in raids, but for anything else, they will happily have me. I personally don’t like raids anyway, so it’s a win/win for me.
If you need a guild, I’ll happily invite you to it.
But otherwise, I avoid PUG groups like the plague.

This has the to be the worst gaming company when it comes to communications with their players. These same players that they are trying to sell gems and expansion to…just unbelievable.
And the sad thing is that there was a time when it was the opposite.
Leading up to launch and a while after, I used to pitch the game to people partly based on the strength of ANet’s communication and openness.
That’s… really sad. Really, really sad. Personally, I’m happy with the expansion, I’m just not happy with them not being open anymore.

True.
But my overall message IS: communicate with us. Tell us what’s going on. Don’t hide things from the patch notes. It’s not cool to do that. :S I rarely hear from the devs on anything these days. The Thief Forum is a great example of a lack of communication; Karl doesn’t talk to us. And Gaile (on the other forums) used to talk to a lot of people. It seems she’s gone scarce, too.

I’ve rarely met anyone complaining about combat visibility except in PvE where zergs attack a single foe because it has 5 million HP. I think the team in charge of reducing the visual noise are not been properly guided and perhaps do not understand what skills are important to see.
I agree. I’ve only seen one compliant, and it might have been a joke. It was either last year or early this year. I was fighting Frozen Maw with a huge group and someone asked: “Does anyone know what this boss even looks like?”
It could have been a joke, it could have been a compliant. Regardless, I don’t the spell fx at all, and I’m saddened that other classes have to suffer a visual loss of their cool abilities just on principle. As a thief main, I don’t have flashy abilities, but classes like the Mesmer and the Elementalist do. That’s one of the things that makes those classes cool IMO.

Batman did, because they’re the weapon skins we deserve, but not the ones we need right now.
Hm, which ones do “we” need right now then? ^^
Oh I dunno, it was just a quote, and I never understood that really, like in the movie the guy could have said the opposite and it would make sense… or not.
I detect a Dark Knight quote. Or was that Batman Begins? Either way, both good movies.

“Blizzard does a great job with communicating with their players”
I lol’d. Or maybe you’re american, but Blizz don’t give a kitten about EU realms. And their games are getting worse and worse, talking for both Warcraft & Starcraft.
Perhaps. I am in the U.S. It seems like they have some decent communication with us. I’m sorry to hear the EU realms are getting bit in the butt, though.
Ever notice how a friendly dog gets lots of attention and kindness? Why is that? Think. Why is that? It’s because the dog shows care for everyone else around it. It doesn’t care about itself, it cares about others. By giving people what they want (a nice, friendly dog), the dog gets what it ‘technically’ wants (since it doesn’t really care): attention and love.
This goes both ways. A friendly dog will shy away from people who are shouting at it
EXACTLY. You get it, man.

Probably because there’s far more toxicity on the official forums
This is possibly true, but the toxicity would probably decrease due to an increase in communication. I don’t go to reddit, I want to know what they are saying there that they are not saying here.

Have you ever read the book, “How to make friends and influence people”? There’s a trick in that book that shows how to get what you want from others. It’s called giving those others what they want. Here’s an example from that book:
Ever notice how a friendly dog gets lots of attention and kindness? Why is that? Think. Why is that? It’s because the dog shows care for everyone else around it. It doesn’t care about itself, it cares about others. By giving people what they want (a nice, friendly dog), the dog gets what it ‘technically’ wants (since it doesn’t really care): attention and love.
I’m going to now relate this to Guild Wars 2: communication between the devs and the players. There is a lack of communication from the devs. Because of this, it creates dissent, unhappiness, and anger from the players.
We want to enjoy your game, we want to play your game because it is a great game. But for many of us, the game is becoming less and less fun, and thus, we don’t want to play it anymore. There’s no reason to do something for fun that’s supposed to be fun if it isn’t. If so, it becomes a waste of time and just leaves people disgruntled.
I’m not speaking for everyone. I’m not even sure if I’m speaking for the majority, but I do know that I am speaking for a portion of the playerbase when I say communicate with us. Tell us what you’re doing. Don’t hide changes in the patch notes (the steal ‘bug fix,’ which most thief players consider a nerf), instead, when you release a patch, reveal everything that you know that has been changed. Stealth changes are a no-no.
A lot of these problems, in my opinion, started with the 2014 September Feature Pack. The personal story was gated, as were the 2-5 abilities of every character. Instead of gaining abilities by using already known ones, the players were, in a sense, punished, and had to grind to get their 2-5 abilities. The personal story was always a nice break from the grind and the farm when a character reached the right level, but by gating the personal story into 10 level x Chapter number, it created a massive hole in that respite. As a result, people tend to use Tomes of Knowledge to avoid leveling.
There were unnecessary changes, too. For example: the “what’s coming” popping up every time a character leveled was not needed at all when there were bugs to be fixed, and balance checks/patches to be made.
Please, listen to us, and talk to us. Blizzard does a great job with communicating with their players. One-up them, and do even better. Without communication, players will just leave the game, disgruntled and angry because they feel like they are talking to a wall.
ArenaNet, you’re not a wall. You’re a group of human beings that could easily change that unhappy portion of players’ attitudes by just talking to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Did you guys know that back in June Dulfy actually revealed one of these skins through a datamine?
The Merciless Short Bow was called the “Shadow Assassin Short Bow” back then. It’s the exact same skin. Same icon, same model. I checked with google and it’s the same.
I got the dagger and short bow skins, and I feel like an assassin now.

Regardless, this nerf is terrible. I cannot give swiftness/might/etc to allies, and that was the WHOLE reason I took Thrill of the Crime. Not for myself, but for others. I don’t want to aggro a mob just to help those wounded soldiers get back to the Pact camp in VB.
It’s very annoying to see how many nerfs we get. I don’t play sPvP often, and I just don’t want to anymore.
I remember earlier this year when I could actually kill in PvP, and was a scary foe. Now, I’ll bet I’m laughable.

So… I’ll get them on Monday?
If Monday is at least one week since the first reset after you moved, yes — that has always been mine understanding of how long it took.
PS if you are feeling patient towards the support tech that ‘helped’ you, you might update your ticket to mention that it needs to be at least seven and might be as many as fourteen days before transfers start getting the bonus from their new world. I would presume that they never had to answer the question before and were steered towards an outdated answer/resource.
Yeah, I sent an apology to them.
Anyway, thanks for the info. Hopefully, I’ll get my bonuses tomorrow.

Support isn’t giving me jack support, so I’m posting here.
Well, they gave me some support, but…
Well, anyway, so, I transferred last Monday to Dragonbrand from Fort Aspenwood. When Friday reset came around, I expected to start getting World bonuses. Lo, and behold when they got the crafting bonus, I didn’t receive it. I also tested it with the Robust bonus. I didn’t get any extra health.
So, support suggested that I do a Guild Wars 2 repair. I did so. Twice (because the first one didn’t work—it didn’t download a thing). It fixed a bug that I had for awhile, but not the World bonuses.
I told support that it didn’t work, and they told me (twice) to post in the bug forums (thanks, guys. -_-)
Either something is wrong with my account, or it is fixed and I have to wait until next Friday.
Any solutions?

Stay close to him, he can reflect projektiles, so be aware of this.
After he takes some dmg he will spawn a npc that you have to bring down to 5% and then interact with a rift, then he will become friendly and helps you in the fight.
After every 2 summons, you either have to get to the shield bubble, or jump into one of the upstreams to avoid the AoE attack (the second time he will start to throw rocks at you if you choose the air option). After the AoE is over one part of the arena will disappear.
If you get him to ~10% he will spawn a lot of low health minions, you have to kill them before they reach the rift and then you have to “kill” his break bar.
Thats all to kill him
Thanks. I got a lot further today. I got to Tybalt and… died. And then, eventually, I accidentally died during the ‘massive attack’ phase, and the battlefield bugged out—some of it being destroyed. Guess where the rift appeared on my third try?
In the air above the floorless part of the battlefield. >: ( Yeah, I had to log.
Also, after every summon is defeated, they should mark that as a ‘checkpoint,’ so when you die, you DON’T have to start alllllll over again.

Some people may need to do the PS again (including myself before anyone starts).. Zhaitan had a weakness and that was how easily his energy supply could be cut off. He was weakened enough that brute force could do the trick.

How do I kill Modremoth? I chose Caithe and Braham, and I got past those sub bosses, and then I face the dragon’s mind. I can harm him a little, but then he sends out those wave attacks that hit the entire room, blind me, and repeatedly damage me.
I never get past about 5-10% of the way into his health before I die and have to retry.
I looked at the wiki, and I realize this part is not the last fight (yay, I spoiled myself looking for a stupid strategy), but it doesn’t give me a single hint as to how to survive.
