Casual player here, and I love the HoT maps (okay, TD can go die, but… :P), and the masteries, and the new specs. I haven’t tried the raids yet, though.

I had around 29 points when HoT was released. Does World Completion count? Because my main has World Completion.

A little request: is it possible you could link my forum thread and my story in the Fan Stories section? It might help with notifying people about updates. I dunno how you’d make it so it’d detect only the first post being edited by me, though.

Before swapping equipment, exactly what’s your problem in staying alive in the HoT maps?

I’m currently running on full ascended zerker gear and I tend to die only when I try to solo or duo (with baddies) HP champions. DD/Tr/CS build with staff ofc.

Bladedancers primarily. :/ And mostly, I get downed, not killed in HoT maps (I should have been more specific). :P I’m decent at dodging and killing, but as far as numbers go, it looks like I won’t lose much damage potential by going from zerker to Marauder’s.

And thanks to everyone for their feedback, I read all your posts as well.

I have made a decision, and I’m making the transition to it. My chestpiece and leggings are now marauder’s instead of zerker. It’ll take a long time before I get all pieces converted over.

My only question is now: should I convert my weapons from zerker, too? Or just leave them as is?

So, I have a mostly pure zerker build for my Daredevil. I fought a guildie recently in our arena and he’s a PvP veteran. He told me that I was the most dangerous thief he had ever fought… and I don’t PvP.

I tend to PvE a lot, and I notice in the HoT areas how fast I die. My armor and weapons are zerker, and I have some zerker+valk trinkets along with soldiers to give me some extra survival.

Regardless, I’m wondering if swapping my ascended gear (not my trinkets) from zerker to Marauder’s would make me more viable in PvE and still stay viable in PvP.

Well, no. I have a Zelda story, a Muramasa story (finished), a Final Fantasy IV story, a Kid Icarus: Uprising story, and a few original novels on my plate. I rarely do short stories, but I’m planning to write some as interludes for Shadows of Rata Sum. Examples: how Vini trains herself, Rem’s love letter, etc.

I will keep updating. I’ll try to finish Chapter 11 by next week.

Not sure if this question has been asked, but I can’t find it in the FAQ (or if it is in the FAQ, the answer wasn’t clear), will the 64-bit client update itself, or will I have to download it everytime there is an update for it? I’m assuming the former, but I’m just checking.

This happens in the HoT areas, too. I don’t like it at all, especially with the surviving soldiers event where you have to escort 10 pact survivors to the camp. I did 9/10 of them, but because I got confused by the terrain and couldn’t help the 10th, the event went grey, said I was ‘inactive’ and then the 10th soldier got to the camp.

I got no reward despite I helped 9 out of 10.

I actually don’t like this. It looks weird on certain outfits like the Wedding Attire. Can we just have a toggleable option?

Since you’re using a laptop, please try making sure your drivers are using the nVidia GPU and not the integrated one.

While I will have a new 64-bit rig around late December probably, not everyone in that boat can do that.

If your game is capable of running GW2, it should also be able to go 64 bit, considering the minimum requirements of the game when it comes to the cpu are all able to run 64 bit:

Intel® Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3 OR AMD Athlon 64 X2, or better

->Look in looking for group for maps with silverwastes and high percentage. Ex: sw 80%
->Get into group and select join
->Do final events on silverwastes map, after final vinewrath event join the champ train
->Keep all the golds and salvage them with black lion salvage kits (optimal) or mystic salvage kits
->Sell ectos
->Salvage all whites/blues/greens and sell materials/sigils/runes
->Rinse and repeat

Okay, you have a point there with the app.

… I’ve only ever had a little over 200 gold in my entire GW2 play time. I had started shortly after launch, but I stopped playing for like… a year or two? Don’t remember.

Anyway, that gold was gained by buying gems and converting them to gold. >_<; Not the wisest idea, but it helped me get one of my characters full Ascended.

Regardless, I don’t know how to earn gold fast. Some say flip the TP, and I’ve tried that (using crafting materials) and I never earned much from it.

The fastest way I know is either Teq or Silverwastes and selling all the yellows I get. With Silverwastes, I get about 3-4 gold a full run. But there has to be a faster way.

I’ve heard from a guildie that fractals are good, but I don’t frequent them enough.

I would love some advice.

That’s… not helpful because I’ve been doing that since launch. Loot doesn’t sell well these days unless it’s a yellow or above.

I’m talking about an app that can give me some guidance about it. Maybe some secrets.

I saw an app on the Google Play store called “Guild Wars 2 Shinies,” which would help ‘maximize’ profits for in-game (earning lots of gold, for example).

The interface is pretty bad, though, and sometimes it doesn’t work. Is there another app that can help me with this? I’m at 23 gold and I would like to have a LOT more to convert to gems (I’m tired of using real money for gems, not to mention my wallet’s tight).

I like Tasks as well; for the most part, anyway. For most hearts, there are multiple ways to complete them, so you don’t have to kill things if you don’t want to.

Hearts I hate are like the ones where you have to stealth and avoid detection (that one with the Ash Legion was poorly executed), and the hearts that rely on events to progress (Diessa Plateau → Requires the Flame Legion event for the mini-dungeon).

But overall, I was disappointed when I entered Orr and there were no hearts to complete.

I’m so happy my playlists are working again as of the 29th September patch!

Also, I noticed you randomized some playlists that I noted as ‘bugs’ earlier, like Lion’s Arch. And you randomized BossBattle playlists! That’s awesome! Thank you!
