off topic – players are leaving to games with more clunky" combat becouse it has much more mechanics and freedom, think that’s a serious problem in terms of future to a product to compete off where its engine doesn’t handle much besides new instance map and new skins (tablet games can do that to), like i said in a thread its way to much theme park.
Their to do list must be really huge, also gw2 is a fork, to achieve the level of some mmo’s would require huge work reason they must have to explore a better way to deliver something for both sides i.e devs working on game and players playing.
The problem i see in this game is that the company being it ncsoft or anet went on full graphics and forgot all about the mmorpg exploration of endless possibilities(as in game design) to hold players on the game.

To Truearrow’s point as well, ET easily competes with servers well above their ranking during NA prime time. The reason for ET’s low ranking and rating are mainly due to very low numbers (nearing on noone) for just a couple hours per day.
ET is far from dead.
It’s not about lack of numbers. It’s about lack of organisation.
WvW is all about coverage and numbers of player on field if fighting with a huge gap in just a few minutes is only what it takes to loose and entire BL.
Fix water gates, places where some classes can hide inside wall and exit any time etc.
we players should contribute in a forum thread where only Anet dev’s could vew the full thread (player can post but only see what they have posted).
Imo this is the best way to dev’s get idea of what’s happening on WvW, but the real fix would be a new map ^^.

As a designer I’d say there are 2 obvious ways to do this:
1. Have weapons/shields appear OVER the cape.
2. Have them work in the same way as large backpieces do. I’ve got a nooby charr that has the starter (engi) Back pack. I’ve equipped a shield to him to see how that works.See the images below, but basically when the shield is stowed the backpiece simply vanishes and the shield becomes the priority.
Either way would work I guess, but I’d prefer it is the cape stayed visible at all time. (My main is an Ele so it doesn’t really affect me).
I see but capes have different physics like the fuild, i believe the problem would be on movement.
Try to grab a http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/King%27s_Remembrance , and try to jump several times you will see the papers streching like rubber, and will clip with character legs.
This is what i believe it would happen if we had capes at this point, would not be eye-candy, and collision detection is far beyond gw2 tech, if we had a good amount of it game would run at lower FPS.

Scepter could have similiarities with the nades spam for guardian also be the condi weapon for guardian.

they tried and they patched ( eotm map , wvw masteries ) but unfortunately one of these patches was shoot in the foot …..
eotm was good alternative but became main wvw map for many players ( the first diamond legend : 10000 rank became in eotm , coincidence ? i don’t think so ) , because of faster rewards and great fun in all levels ….
this hilarious situation becoming more funny when the seasons start and all people login to eotm and not to wvw to help their servers , because you know they will complete the achievements in eotm too …. bingo

25 men guild run ( Dawn ) with 2 randoms ( me and one ele from votf guild ) took AM T3 GARRISON under a kitten load of sieges ( acs , trebs , catas , trebs , everything ) in prime time after 2 hours of fight against the whole server. fun ? a lot …. rewards ? their wp and the feeling of the fight.
all people in sieges had masteries and all the sieges was superiors …..
i don’t want hear again for superior sieges . a guardian on the ram can create 103% protection and he is taking 0 damage from sieges .
all masteries have the opposite mastery . the siege might has the siege bunker , etc

A few well placed water fields on the “sturdy ram classes” solves the trick get, some ac and balista, also might force defenders to came out, and its all good ifyour group is good at the open field, might works better than the omega spam that can be countered by mesmer and guardians.
I rather see longer fights and have fun, than this actual full stack server just to take on tower against 5-10 players.

Meh, i would much rather see multiple choice pr weapon skill slot.
Meaning that each slot from 1 to 5 had multiple skills that would be swapped around. But tied to that specific slot. This to maintain the overall system of 1 being the no cooldown “auto-attack” while 5 is the heavy hitter with long cooldown.
But then i guess that would violate their precious “play the game, not the UI”, as right now seeing a scepter in the staff of a necro is a signal that you have condies coming…

There are several topics that could be discussed:
WvW game mode imbalance and possible improvements:
- Ways to cut the population imbalance/stack
- Motivations to spread population over all servers or reduce number of servers.
- Structures design and flaws that can trigger bug abuse.
- Improvements (since new map is out of question), it should be discussed what is WvW for, it has much bigger impact than Anet tough it would have, if it worth’s a good amount of patches to refresh the game mode and the possible re-adjustment of WvW to improve further, a possible ground zero area that would grow within new patches.

I think you are mistaken. We have released content and features in the last two years on a fairly regular basis. Just because the content and/or features were things that you personally did not particularly care for doesn’t mean we didn’t release anything.
Please don’t trivialize the efforts of our design and development staff down to “nothing” because you didn’t like it. It’s fine to comment that you didn’t care for what was released, but don’t pretend like we’ve done nothing here for the past two years.
I guess players are lacking some aspects of the traditional mmo, becouse gw2 abuses the theme-park model, its like playing mmo i just bough on on my android tablet with better graphics, same mechanics, get money to grab gems and trade for skins, imo this is the gw2 problem.
LS is not bringing a evolution to the GuildWars series, no new mechanics that can be adopted in game or be adopted in WvW, nor something new to improve your character (not talking about gear), but rather have something as new skills, racial siege and defense content based on new guild tech trees where guilds could start applying, real meaning of a guild and working to improve that guild, because having a guild just to make a puzle or kill a mob with large HP pool, this content is to weak.
2years on testing content and minor bug fixing is great, Anet is doing a good job here, they solved a huge culling problem on WvW, but after that the task gets harder because game is no longer new and improvement features must be released, even if means to change some concepts.
I wish it was account bound, not all the people who’ve been here for 2 years still play their first character.
It should be a reward for the account being 2 years old, not just the character.

I just been exploring so far, got a little too far out of my lvl zone so im lost haha, soo far i dislike the fighting system, it feels like WoW standing in one spot killing wolves and stuff. But i do like how u can build houses, farms, and how everything is interactive.. but i dont think it will stick like gw2, where skill comes into the fighting and you can dodge and run around… I like what Aeolus said, having WvW in a PvE lookin map would b so dope! wish something like that would happen!
its diferent, and it is possible to dodge but that deppends on class build, most of time is based on Kite and telegraph skill to counter, unless u play a pally.
btw funny how stealth works here, since every one has acess to stealth even wizards, and its not op, player requires good skills and good tactics if he doesnt want to get cought.
In my opinion i rather be in server teamspeak than any guild in this game, besides it adds a tag you your char name it is irrevelant if player is in a guild or not.
the guild representation sistem is really bad to, one of a kind.
Supply drop and thieves guild are two of the best elites in the game. Try to be considerate to others and not post on this forum if you’re just going to mislead people.

What? I have not seen that! I’ve used Wall of Reflection on all other siege and it does not block it. You have tested it against Omegas? Maybe their attacks are treated like character attacks and projectiles instead of siege…
its more than tested, several times just 2 guardians and 1 mesmer with feedback at gate making spammers(several omegas) killing themselves.
Guardian is excellent against omegas, stability + wall.
imo i guess all guardian domes also “block” destroy omega projectiles, i dont remember well, any skills that implies the destruction of projectiles works against omega.

Well they deserved attention, as well as all the other unused utilities that the devs are finally tinkering with.
I suspect that the term “under used utilities” is entirely limited to the aforementioned spirit weapon options and nothing else. Otherwise they would have mentioned signets.
I am interested what they’ll be doing to the elites though… Provided we don’t just get Tome of Ikea for summoning a dazzling array of spirit bookshelves and sofa beds

Problem is, even you had 25% move speed on your traits, where would you actually put it? you already need 6 to have access to sustain and 3 more to fix health or so to fix health and get healing dodges..
some other classes must be towned down to guardian speed >:D, if they want speed get in a group.

You might be one of those people who plays shadow arts thief ,thinks he is good and thieves need nerf. Actually black powder nerf is huge for people who don’t use shadow arts and play the 26006 build.
Anyway arenanet doesn’t play their game , they nerfed every warrior build except Hambow lol. F1 longbow cannot miss so the Nerf is irrelevant .
as a non warrior, longbow should be the one that deserves to be changed, that and reduce warrior mobility the rest is sorta fine.

You dare question Anet? They know what the players want, more than the players themselves do.
Remember, all the people complaining are just a drop in the ocean compared to the billions of satisfied players.
Also the changes that WvW might need to become more fun, might not be code friendly(time consuming developing them) to the game engine.

I’d like to see some form os 20-25% passive speed boost for us. We are the only class without one. In big WvW zerg groups if we aren’t getting swiftness from other people we sail behind the pack.
i would prefer that most classes didtn had a passive speed boost
except 1 or 2.
