(…)Can I ask one thing? Do you organise your player base to flood one map at a time? I’m not judging the tactic, it obviously works for you guys. The reason I ask is because every time I have hit a map you were not running I have been able to easily 4man your hills and bay without intervention.
You would be shocked how small is our wvw community, the mob itself just happens, our server commanders/players know how to manage themselves.

It’s not like we can’t win with Retreat on our bar. It’s still a mid-combat swiftness, aegis, and condition removal (traited). Just an annoyingly long cooldown.
Retreat, swiftiness can last (20)27 seconds with 48 reload, imo is acceptable.
They could actually use a buff imo.
They were nerfed during beta, but that was due to the complaints when everyone was level 30ish. In the live game at 80 they barely tickle.

It’s pretty silly that players can simply stand in a rain of arrows without any danger unless there are several arrow carts hitting at once. They only work for area denial when there are enough people to just attack anyway.

Indeed pretty silly, people always to forget to run supply and counter atack with siege.
I believe the harder the champ it is more rewardable should it be.

I put my hands on water (not fire) that all the servers are almost the same to PVE, i believe players do support in some way each other in all servers.

90% or more of the Guardians i find use GS, and i bet event the stats build are almost the same.
I prefer open world content. I have yet to do a single dungeon in this game simply because of the lack of group finding tools. Dungeons are gated content. I do not enjoy looking for players to join my party or sitting around while someone else does it. I did plenty of that in other mmos. I do not have a cluster of friends that play mmos or a 500 person guild of ready to go players so content for me has to either be soloable or easy to access.
Would be nice to have a forum thread for each server and the access would be open only for player who are on that respective server.

Also if you get the trait that all symbols heal… you get extra heal ticks from it as well as its ticks from regen.

used to solo/pseudo tank almost all champions in Arah(its the only hard things we can find there lol), my hp regen plus blocks on the rigth time allowed to recover the 14k hp pretty fast, but thats only for pve, since now i only do W v W healing is not a viable option, its an viable illusion.

Even Ragnarok Online had culling problems when 5k+ people were trying to get Prontera main castles… KRo is from 2k2/2k3
Swiftiness last 25-27sec on “Retreat” and affects those near you.
Staff traited swiftiness last 10sec with 12sec skill recharge
Save yourselves also gives some gooood buffs.
Theres also the mace “Protectors Strike”, shield “SoA” wich kb foes and “Stand you

Laying portals are easy. Lay down the start portal, run to your location, then lay down the end portal… and everyone that clicks on the start portal, goes through. It will even glow to let everyone know it’s linked and ready. There’s nothing hard about doing this. It’s even easier when you use stealth. I have a Mesmer.
my point was about the time you deploy the 2nd portal, if the mesmer can deploy the portal is becouse the defending team is not doing its job.
Im starting to believe many here do think mesmer can just drop a portal and people appear!…

This always happens when trading Gems for gold, turns into a very good amount of in game cash flow, buying gems from visa or master card always turn into a messa ge saying that it failed, had the same problem since this values madness.
ill try again when arrive @ home :< . i want to buy gems damnn it!
I guess it is to avoid a flood of gold in the market.
P.S: This situation happens to me always when 100 gems worth 95+silver.
(Since i stopped pay2play games i have the opotunity to use this quite often.)

This is also mmo logic, there are several mmo’s where team size does matter to conquer castles, if its a 500 vs 500 vs 500 its acceptable and common situation to encounter a large enemy team.
Let me guess you didnt notice they were some much there :] culling is the only problem i see here?
Bough the game expecting to much from W vs W vs W, now its fun to chat with old guildies and have fun in pve.
Enough with the worry about stealthed people in keeps and the 1 min cooldown and the culling issue. It is directly related to the imbalance between unlimited affect (number of persons that can use the portal) and limited effect (AoE can only hit 5 persons).
Dont limit the game in W vs W more than it is already, the change on portal would lead more mesmers and more portals to appear in the castle would not change much
5 player per portal it would be needed to have only 10 mesmers sync the portal in tha castle to hava a small group inside.
i would rather say let the enemy use the portal also!
EDIT: also the AOE limited to 5 was desapointing news, take the 5 limit everything would be better IMO, even zergs/turtles had to scatter. the game look dumb like this if people dont evede its their fault….

They still have an unlimited amount of people who can port through 1 portal. Only change done was the cool down.

when conquering a castle/tower always look for stealthed units, dont leave to cap the next one:
– kill the mesmer before it lay eggs…..

Portal completely ignores one of ANet’s design pillars for skills: All other skills in the game, without exception, affect a maximum of 5 players.
Without exception, huh? All skills huh? Veil, Temporal Curtain, Line and Ring of Warding would like to have a word with you. Its a utility effect, not a condition, not a boon, not damage, not healing. Reflection can reflect the projectiles of far more than 5 people, because its a utility effect. Quit making up game design pillars that aren’t there.
I stand corrected. But if those skills you mentioned do affect an unlimited number of players, then they need to be rebalanced, along with portal.
You also bring up reflection, which is another good example of something that scales out of control as a result of ignoring the 5 player limit. This should be changed to something that blocks all projectiles but only reflects back to a maximum of 5 different sources. The classification that “it’s an utility effect” shouldn’t exempt this or Portal from balance considerations.
Skills are perfectly fine, just learn how to use them and how to counter, some might need some updates for working properly but anet will get there eventually.
The only 2 problems are the cullign issues and W vs W vs W dull gameplay design were you only need big and massive groups for cap and cap next, its just the JQ in large scale with almost brainless defined path.
I dont get why people complain the use of portals, it is the lack of knowledge those complainers have about the game or how bad they can play.
It is their fault if they dont know how to kill some mesmers while theres a ton of allied forces that took the castle.
And now going offtopic, W vs W is a dull gameplay and players are making it even mode dull, it is a very limited gameplay, Anet could make almost a new gameplay from W vs W or an entire new game by itself by the infinite and creative options that could be intruduced to W vs W, yet again maps are to small IMO.

I dont understand why players rage so much against the quantity of players in W vs W, cant be expected the enemy to have the same quantity of soldiers, “hey lets balance war”, and W vs W is were worlds colide, and the winning condition deppends from the number of forces the server have in the batlefield, and if any changes are being made to the W vs W lets just wait and see.
I just hope W vs W changes from this JQ model in large scale.

Personally I feel players should only be invulnerable until they actively use an attack on an enemy player, at which point they should cease to be invulnerable, even if they stay within the spawn camp.
I agree that players should not be attackable at/in their spawn. However, by attacking someone they accept that they should in return become attackable.
A lot of problems would simply go away if this change was implemented.
so… who would atack first if the target is invunerable? the egg or the chicken?
that would be like a challange invite? cant imagine it on zergs.
I would prefer IMHO the removal of the invurability effect due hights, a player/npc is being hitted or not, unless its a spawn.
Its also anoying while fighting high damage npc’s/mobs and they get invunerable at the midle of the fight.
Npc/mobs always find a way to reach the player that would be good to observe more often, that would also leed to new ways to flank the enemy.

Greetings, as far i can advice you, ignore the changes! As any other nerf some were fair other changes were not that fair, but people always overreact to the word it self “nerf”.
You can use some of the spvp build calculater to simulate some stats for pve or get close just for an idea.

Can Golems be made guild restrictive? Only the people from the guild of the person who dropped the Golem can use it.
Cant be becouse sometimes hostile servers also jump into the front gate stealing the crater.
I have 3k armor with shield and sword equipped and I’m being hit for 1.5 – 2.5k a tick by normal karka mobs and the drakes. WTF?!?! This doesn’t make the game fun or a challenge. Unless they release new gear or something to combat of dmg, I’m not going to be participating in new content. It’s bad enough Guard dps is wet noodle. The one thing we had going is toughness now that’s being shred to bits.
3.4k armor being it by 2.5k+, yes finnaly guardians have a challange in pve.
just use pacifism on the group.

You didnt had to defend the shrines in GW1 jade quarry also.
Also WvW was never meant to be fair or competitive like PvP. ANet officially said that. It’s meant to be an epic battle in a PvE environment.

Just get a bigger group and clean it, people doesnt care much to defend castles/camps just hit n run.

The server that have only 150-200 players doing w vs w, yet we manage to do something i guess, while others 40 are on large pug know as zerg.
If wasnt some of the commanders/guilds
i think we were giving rock concerts instead of capturing castles.

Never seen it before? Never played a game with the archetype “Paladin” class I suppose.
i played paladin classes in some games, some even with wars similiar to W vs W and no limit of players, and the feel i have is not that (just my opinion when people comparing it with paladin).
Its a paragon wiht some minor healing buffs.

Until they can come up with something that can replace Save Yourselves, Hold the Line and Stand Your Ground from the utility bar …no Meditation skill will appear on my bar.

Every siege weapon has a counter, no matter where it is placed. If your enemy placed siege in a strategic location, so you’re supposed to either go to a more vulnerable area or figure out how to counter it.
Maybe you forgot you have Arrow Carts, Ballista, Catapults and Trebuchet at your disposal. Turtles didn’t need to do that after all; they just auto-attacked gates and won.
Its what happens when the W vs W turns into a “capture n leave” no need for deffend will eventually get recaptured again and left alone.

I feel your pain, and my main is a guardian, have the same problem. i belive that only a few classes are able to a better success while defending from walls or atacking them.
The rest leave it for the siege
And dont forget that W vs W is just a JQ in large scale nothing new, get in a group that is caputiring on the ground level or just wait for siege to blow castle wall/door down.
