A bunch of bosses need thier scaling tables adjusted. Especially Wurm’s and Shaman’s. if they do that and address safezones it should be fine.

I would drop thief damage by alot, and give more loads of invisible options as traits and skills, any player can kill target with thief w/o effort its too dammn easy(damage wise not invisibility problem).
We need to remember that Word versus Word is a larger scale of AB(alliance batles) from gw1, but watching just as it, it looks and feels that is to limited and very old stuff.
when Anet introduced WvW into the masses, i and many tough it would be an epic batlefield with something new far far away from the “group avoid n’run” that AB was.
I start to see the redudancy on GW2 WvsW, as the map starts to get old and unactractive(there are old mmo’s with castle siege with a better concept and it is a massive pvp included on pve), the action mmo concept game can be risky as it gets bored faster than the “traditional model” if theres to much of the same to fast, and in WvW when “you” notice that a groupfest can easily tear down a reinforced door in seconds by just weapon atack (PvD), comes to mind, “so thats what this game is about!”
I agree, that there should/could be a lot things to spicen up meta/tactics & strategy in general.

Imho, its lacking some meta which combines all maps, i.e.
- Capping/defending ALL camps (and/or guards) in ALL maps should reward a bonus score
- Activation of switches in different parts of ALL JPs should reward WvW bonus score
(+ achievement/rewards for the players)Maps
Bigger maps are not possible engine-wise atm.
…but unsure if they couldnt add more layers…freezeing the “quaggan lake”, but keeping holes to get under the water…would add a lot of new space.

Besides the map modification to the “World of the Mist” not talking the actual arena model, would be fun to had a bit of sandbox allowing guilds that owned a castle to modiffy with pre built models (upgrades)
So here are some ideas:
*Orbs of Power now were Altars/Shrine of Power and would be a phisic builded non movable object.
– can be built on castles only.
– upgrades : provide boons to the respective server, upgrades to fortify the altar.
*Siege:
– Siege mobility (rams, catapult and arrow cart, ballista)
– Add Treb and catapult can fire AOE fire balls.
-Harder castles or more avaliable upgrades.
- Guild hold chest if maintain the castle for + 7 days with only rare + loot.
WvW could be a openworld that servers explore and fight for the conquest!

Awww Rob. It’s good to see what you all are up to while we’re at work. Even better to flip it all back to blue once GoM is online and giving you someone to compete with instead of our fabulous doors. And we do have some FABULOUS doors on our towers and keeps!

according to another thread this looks like the glich or crash that has taken place,
A similar glitch happened last week, when members of GoM, HoD, and DH all ended up in the blackgate borderland in a similar state. It is not hacking, its a glitch. It is likely that the players don’t even realize it, they probably just wonder why no one is attacking them. Look at the T7 thread from last week if you want more details.
As for all the NSP complaining about spawn camping… I hope you don’t represent your server as a whole. NSP is 30k+ ahead of GoM, and even further ahead of HoD. I’m sure you will be back on top in no time.
That remmind some bugs that happened while facing Kaining when the some of the players (both servers) went to inside the mountain, walls and could not be possible to exit.
About the NSP complaining spawn camp, move along sir nothing to watch…

You can talk kitten about AR, you can talk kitten about BP, Everyone talks kitten about NSP (and we encourage it cause their kittenes), and even HoD I believe was once higher up and can handle some kitten talking … but don’t you ever bring GoM into this, they deserve better then all of us.
That and man for man 1 GoM = 10 NSP

In my playtime it is 7 NSP = 30+ GOM…. made a stack of badges in 2 days(+-7h gameplay), just the siege at the castle were nsp had to hold the 2 servers at the same time, one at each gate, that was a massacre we were like 35 players inside the keep.
And yeah ive seen kittens in NSP also, i guess its the malware of the low tiers.

Do we have euro players on NA servers? I thought the ping difference would make them suffer more than playing in their own region.
Your idea is a good concept but the technological limitations would cause more lag when playing against people from other side of the world. The lag is bad enough as it is with culling.
While im playing on NA server being on Euro zone my ping is quite acceptable, and for what i noticed got some friends on euro servers that have a 2sec delay on skills (they have better connections than me also).
Ele’s also can avoid Guardian control skills in those forms, its a to easy soloution to escape w/o effort, player with the elemantalist will just jump to the agro and AOE at the gate, go down and recover inside the castle and keep repeating.

Was an amazing siege in blue keep good fight was a lot of fun
That was pretty cool, every one that hold the keep were taking GoM and HoD at the same time, had a great time.
p.s: I just wonder if that was some sorta of flood protection preventing some of us to cast certain skills becouse all my signets and healing skills were working fine.

The dailies on WvW fit very well con PvE, also theres a kill “10” invaders daily.
Mmhm no Hex, I really think WvW is designed for end-game. People should be able to amuse themselves in WvW for weeks on end… not get bored after zerging for 2 hours.
I think it requires following things:
- A customizable world: build houses, build walls anywhere.
- A living world: there aren’t any citizens in any of the places, there are no farms, there are no children, no supply sellers (food, drinks…), no feasts when you claim a location…
- Different maps: right now we have 2 maps… (3 times the same one and EB)
A sandbox Tyria or Underworld(for WvW) is what you want(i wanted that also), i imagine that is not the target of player population of Anet (im out of that equation as well).
this is what i use atm:
Rune of melandru(x6) + food (-40% condition time) + traited shout on removing conditions + signet removing conditions each 10sec
*usually i run this with a traited shield of the avenger

My biggest concern is whether or not they will nerf selfless daring in someway. (our heal on dodge)
Selfless daring – No longer heals on dodge, instead, apply 25 stacks of vulnerability on yourself and force all enemies to instantly target you while you shout “Look at me! Look at me!” Selfless daring last for 5 seconds and you are immobilized for its duration.
That would be balanced becouse character name still is Guardian.
Guild Wars 2 has the worst combat depth of any MMO I have ever played. World of Warcraft had much greater depth than this during its 2nd and 3rd expansions.
In Guild Wars 2 there are no abilities on my toolbars that I can synergize to perform complex high damage combos. There are no control cooldowns that I can juggle in order to tackle extremely difficult encounters.
In short, the depth of the combat system is so shallow, basic and simple that bad players can beat good players. There’s no skill cap. There’s no steep learning curve.
As a result, there will be no athletes that the masses watch to learn. If you have no athletes, you have no spectators, if you have no spectators, you have no sport.
This game is so dumbed down that the best players are bored to tears.

totally agree. Engineer’s elite skills are utter rubbish. It was as if Anet got tired designing the engineer and decided to quickly wrap it up with a whole lot of rubbish elite skills.
That comment can be aplyed to all classes, so the game it is balanced.
ive tried that, its fun to spread fiery circles near your allies, put every on fire etc etc, but theres a huge drawback as fire stacks in duration, and condictions are easy for melandru rune set, condition removers, food, etc.
Its a more useless stat/atribute on guardian then the heal stat on guardian.

Right now I run mostly P/T/V armor (Karma exotics from Orr) with berserker main and cleric off hands and jewelry is all Mithril Ruby.
Im not an apologist of baserker gear, i would recommend to try the karma orr with soldier stats and baserker jewels , altough im having the same problem as survivability, even with 3.4k+ armor and arround 19k health im “almost” being insta killed on 1vs1, it is how the game works, power/crit wins all.
So I logged into WvW yesterday and some people were going to camp flip, so I decided to join them for a bit. When we moved out this guy started heading off to the side, at first I thought maybe he need some stuff at the merchant but he kept running past them. The other guys followed him and I was thinking to myself “wtf are these noobs doing”. After debating to myself for a second on wether to ditch them all or follow them, I decided to follow them, at least it’s a good story to tell my guild about the noobs later. To my surprise there is ANOTHER path out of our spawn, in fact there is one on each side, and the exits are pretty far apart, making it hard for people to cover them all. Not only is this a good, sneaky way to leave but it could be used to avoid being spawn camped. Wish I found out about this earlier.

Don’t finish them off if they outnumber you, they will res each other, then just make AoE when they res and at some point more than half of them lie downed lol, I recommend damaging them instead of finishing them, can depend on your spec, that’s how I can take 1v3-1v5, cause they think you finish them when they are downed, that’s why you should keep attacking the ones that res.
I really agree with you, the “finish him” animation is suited when facing 1vs1 or if hostiles are distracted with other targets.
I dont mind with downed state or the finish move, player need to know if he will have the time to do it or not, keep damage on downed player and in the nearby hostile targets, while they are resing they are not atacking.

Legendary weapons are hot subject nowadays. Being Guild Wars 2 lacking some end-game goals, Legendary weapons means the “end-game” goal for people. However there is some controversy around this precious items, specially in the process of getting them.
Legendary weapons should award the mastering of the entire game, and should be directly tied to a effort factor. At it’s current state it is both a combination of luck and gold, nothing more!

I’d personally say guardian is the best commander profession.
Crowd control can be really efective if you know what your doing, even changes the tide of a match.
The annoying part is when starts shouting quotes as if the character as conditions or low HP when casting.
What is your lvl and your stats?
myself never found a problem with D/D even if they hit hard 2k+
I am new to the guardian and wanted to know what weapons would be best for PvE and what kind of build? I want to be like a tank, able to take hits.
If you want to agro veterans and other mobs, go for cleric gear or soldier and try to get ~1800 @ healing power(if you are using cleric) plus mace/shield, an advice for PVE, it will get bored once your used to it.
For skills i would recommend to test consecrations, try to trait the shield spirit weapon, and some shouts, to see what is better you, but use the 30points on valor trait thats is mostly mandatory.

I have seen this myself though as I’ve killed her quite a few times- we normally just /say kill the babies and people do as soon as they spawn- her health goes up but not by much and she is easy to take down.
It is just a tip- check it out yourself.I have tried it. Never worked. Killing the spiders or not killing the spiders, the boss always remained invulnerable until it filled the hp. Thus why I asked for a video of that actually working/happening. Kill him…her…it today and fraps it, shouldn’t be all that hard….
Isnt that the reset that happens when you pull a mob out of is place?
It gets invunerable and heatlh resets, worse is when this happens and they continue to hit you while he is being reseted.
This concept in my opinion is the worse concept i have ever seen in a mmo (so far the only thing i dont like in gw2, even when a mob is on a hight or lower spot and says invunerable or gets reseted).
how are they in wvw? lots of mixed feedback. I feet that if i were to ever play a ranged class itd be a ranger because they can switch to GS if someone gets close. So just wanted some more feedback outside of just my server.
Ive found some real nice Ranger with the 1500 range trait snipping from high hills, pretty good damage and conditions stack.

Your siege is 100% useless. It blocks trebuchets, catapults, ballistas, arrow carts, everything.
The one and only reason the ever use a focus.
Who cares, attack multiple spots at the same time and make this useless. If they are protecting siege outside of the walls, then push out and get them or portal bomb them.
I would cast “Shield of the Avenger” and turn to be a Bubblemancer and earn my place in Avengers 3.
ANet has officially stated that Legendary stats will be bumped to Ascended when Ascended weapons are introduced.
They actually stated that ascended weapons would help “bridge the gap” between exotic and legendary weapons. It’s my belief that Legendary weapons will be better than ascended weapons which will be better than exotics. Basically Orange items will one day be equivalent to current day Greens . Which is a huge shame. It makes spending resources and materials for rare exotics a set back .
They have clarifed that they meant the time gap not the stat gap.
Then why is there a stat gap in the first place?
I belive that was about Legendary weapons time gap, and they lowered the stats while ascended items are being release.
About ascended, besides doing fractals once in a while (fotm4), im not going into it, just becouse it does not have the stats i use for my Guardian build it would be a cut in the stats i use, so i will w8 for new gear being released.
It is surprising that this game is so “pro-zerg”.
- AE only hits 5 people
- A handful of coordinated elementalists can render all ranged attacks, including siege, useless
- Retaliation murders one vs many but is useless for many vs one.
- No defense XP for few vs many because they probably won’t get a kill, but the many will get great XP for sacking the fort.
- Zergs have ample supply to bust through gates with multiple golems and rams. Gates melt faster than defense can respond.
They SAY that they used DAOC as a model for WvW, but DAOC had no AE limits. 5 people defending a fort against 25 attackers could be very dangerous if they had good AE.
GW2 has nothing I can think of that serves as anti-zerg.

But this isn’t really what you are asking. I read your question more as, How does an unorganized group(even if it is larger) defeat a smaller enemy group that uses tactics and synergies and strategies without siege? The answer to that question is, you, don’t
I would rather say "need X players to flank them from Y position, or get in a hight possition building a AC and then flank them, " what i want to say is ideas should appear in the map/local chat, players should get organizied at that momment even if it is necessary to get back a little, the problem i find in this is that needs to be executed fast and people still have to accept or ponder your comment.

We already have some sorta of teleport and with perma swiftiness, i believe we would be really fast to reach our target, dont know how much this would be killing w/o effort.
People who hate Orr do so because they hate to lose control of their character/being pulled – which isn’t the best mechanic imo.
I’d much prefer an harder zone with more Chill and Poison application than lose of control.

I love the downed state personally. It adds a whole new dynamic to it all and provides a lot more strategy than one would think. How can you complain about long fights either? I don’t want a zerg vs zerg battle to be decided in 20 seconds. I want those fights to take a few minutes to play out. There is more strategy in play in 2-3 minutes than there ever will be in a 20 second fight.
I agree there, and you need to choose between fighting and stop fighting for a rez, offcourse
there is a limit of players that can rez a target already, so i dont quite get the rage on that.
P.S i rez downed players for ~1.5k+\sec.
