Reducing the AoE for more melee trains is perfectly fine, assuming of course we add two more features at the same time to make the game truly great.

All it would do is encourage even more omniblobs.
AOE cap removal would be better, (run in an Omni blob and die to smaller numbers cause you dumb) and neither is a good fix.
ANet have stated that due phisical and code limitations that cant be raised.
Cap cant be reduced, if u remove cap with all the ticks calc on served side, servers would crash or u would have enormous time with skills lag until the servers could dispach the infor for the clients…
That would creates several gltiches, not all players would receive the same info on the client, if the server <-> client works how i think it works it would be really awfull thing to do.
What would be possible to do and what i have been asking is to reduce remove cleaves from autos, and increase on some AOE spells a bigger cap besides 5 (i think the max they cant cap is arround 7-10).
But that would bork up the easy pve cleave high damage spam, and ANet puts pve easyness aoe/cleave DSP spam above game stability as a whole.

It doesnt matter the OP skills nor weaposn if he didnt atleast put some pressure on the DH, he had a wrong setup or dont understand the potention of the necro possible combos itself.

Just how many blocks in the rotation kept you from missing all your attacks?
Would be nice if some one can lay this down to research.
DH f3 x2(only block frontal atacks within 3seconds) 75sec CD
DH trait that drops small aegis with 1 minute cooldown
mace 3 has 2 blocks (this skill bugs alot and misses the aegis aplyance very often on 1vs1 )
shield, 1 block on 15sec CD.
shelter, 2 seconds each 30sec CD.
retreat, 1 block on 30-24sec CD.
trap with mediocre damage has 1 block as well (24sec?)
focus skill 2, has 3 blocks, on 30-36 sec CD
i dont see this a build that makes damage(slow mace autos on melee range vs necro? i dont bite it)… and for the part that OP cant invert boons means guardian had high resistance boon wich is impossible due the sacrifice of stats to get a decent builds with high resistance alone…..
The only skill guardian has resistance even with 100% boon duration would last 2seconds, durability runes are easy to observe the effect and see that the triggered effect is in CD.
It might be possible the guardian add no boons to convert, its one way to counter necros that want to leech from that, the only boon i run is aegis and some small boons like regen/protection/stability.
Counter:
-auto atacks (very efective agaisnt aegis…)

- unblockables
-marks
- symbols
Cons:
-Low mobility
-Low range
-Pidgeonholed
- Most probably low damage IF mace shield shout builds wich is the only wy to achive that many blocks….
Pros:
-very telegraphed Blocks aplyance, that every one can notice the boon and remove it with an auto atack.
P.S i run 2 heavy block DH builds, on is for frontline block n’stability other is block n’burn based.
Sorry OP necro, no guardian as 100% block uptime and invunerability is on 90sec CD and lasts only 2 seconds…
U got extremelly outplayed, what utilities the guardian used or what weapons it was using????

No, virtues reduce cd on tomes and lore master reduce cd on skills in tomes.

Heres’s a bow and some dps skills
here’s DPS utilities and some bow… DH trapper main weapons are the traps (well only 2 traps do actually decent to lot of damage anyway…) :P not the bow, and felt clunky.
Traps were a awfull gimmick concept for damage output.

unfortunately devs still don´t give a kitten on wvw they´re fixing pve and gemstore stuff that´s it
they actually dont care much… classes are mostly designed for pve only, what result on wvw is on automode and if carries the players the better, more noobage will play the gimmicks and stay playing the game…
Anet killed guardian turtle very fast, and was not that efective compared with the scourge turtling….
But somehow i feel ANet will accept scourrge turtling…
(but my opnion is completelly biased on lack of trust on ANet dev’s)
Mostly its coverage problems and how easy the maps are easy to ktrain witch what is happening , it feels like ANet pairs servers with same coverage timezone, but on match each color/faction/side ktrains at diferent times.
Something feels messy, its either get blobbed or blob the others with one massive groups.
And after one of the server papers everything each strucure takes arround 30sec to take..,

Might go with boon duration runes as well and use Retreat which also (if traited) gives quickness.
In its current iteration FB will use at least 2 shouts (Retreat and SyG) since they actually hit allies and also provide quickness. I believe most FB will invest in superior aria if going support and i also think trooper runes might be an option and use the condi removal mantra for personal use only.
Shout elite is also better compared to the mantra elite and also provide quickness in a much more reliable fashion.
Tbh i cant se any one using mantras as asupport tool in an affective fashion.
So support will go with 2-3 shouts one mantra for personal use and shelter as heal and renewed focus as elite.
When they fix SyG so that it grants 2s of quickness instead for 10, what’s the point in using shouts? You are dedicating 2 traits and a rune set to make them work, and the only thing that’s changed is they now each grant 2 seconds of quickness on a 24s cooldown, and provided that you don’t use them at the same time.
What’s going to happen is that quickness share will be a pve thing only, and wvw/pvp firebrand will just forget it exists, apart from personal use.
That was the feeling i had as well, with mantras what is the point of having shouts?
mantra of lore itself is a 2+2 condi cleanse on a 20-25CD, and both casts of the mantras have heals as well.
And the elite mantra that gives stability and stun breakers for WvW will be the options to choose imo.
As a diablo3(Anet has taken some ideas from diablo since the dev’s know each other, the ammo system, chronomancer, even bzerker) i would love a hammer/shield version of the guard sturdy support at melee range..

Lol… What ANet ONLY needs to do is make players need to invest more stats if they want damagw, and the same for condi… If u want damage u get squishier, if u buot defense player looses damage output .
ANet need to change the formulas wich classes use the stats.. problem is, classes aint op if cant solo a pve raid, so must BE balanced for pvp as well….
A good thing would be a new redesign of the stats, to clean the mess, with complete new values.

Its very difficult to justify a mechanic that mid combat with 0 interaction can tic for 5k per second, while being completely defensive.
They can bomb you, go defensive and burn something like 80%+ your hp. That is a bit much.
Thay makes bad player look good, gw2 its is a game torward gimmiks and help bad players, if u haver a decent player not on meta burst build he will die probably strugle for longer againt a bad player thats is playing meta build.
The gap between build need to be reduced, ATM is play for damage Creep or gtfo.
And where everything cleaves,burst,aoe.. results on a mess of gameplay.
When ANet makes this game required skill Over weapon damage and spam, like gw1 required most gamers Will stop joking about ANet devs and its players..

Links need to be removed….. Its a one down/up system,. While half of the population gets relinqued to another random server…(removed ofensive bashing torward Anet awfull design).
It feels like a mesa do band aids…on top of another.
Im ok… But reduce condi damage as well, so players who want condi busrt with high damage from condi need play glassy as well.
More risk reward for both condi and damage right??
It will eventally get nerfed, but not now since they want people to buy it.

Well a.i on mmos tend to Be overall awfull due some limitations.
Even with boons on mobs it needs to be scripted as a.i, making just npc’s spam boon because yes would not be a good thing to add.
2 things thay would be decent to start would be implementing player classes to PvE mob’s.
Dagger thiefa with backstab a.i from players back, and keep adding just some Key skills with some scripted rotations for they other classes.
U guys niticed who is Anise real identity right? She actually knows everything.
Its funny at first i tought She would be Lívia from gw1, but i think now she is far older.

Boons on npc’s does not makes game harder.. it would be actually fun if mob’s add an a.i with players / classes skills.
They need to return the casted wepon, but with the a.i removed…. And make them close to the Guardian…. The way the skills work now they are useless….
they broken even more what was working poorly… Its was a Nerf overall.
1-return sw back with pulse dome and AA.
2- remove A.I
3- mantain command with ammo
If Anet wants to make se even cooler for visual n feel, add a elite skill summon of ascalon that summon 2 or 3 ghost of ascalon Rangers that aply burnband heals aoe.

Asking Anet to delete WvW servers is nothing else than asking Anet to delete the communities that have been forged over the past years. This is the closest possible thing I can image to asking the game mode to commit suicide.

See it as merging 2 almost empty rooms of students into a new room, those groups now have the chance to create new bonds to a bigger group…while mantaining its original members.

No. It is already way too easy to defend a T3 objective.
It takes like 5 people with a brain to stop a map queue from taking a T3 keep. If anything, attackers should get more tools to attack objectives.
It’s ridiculous that people just wanna hide behind their walls and sit on ACs all day instead of fighting.
if a ful queue is stoped by 5 players…. that is a awfully bad server….
10-15 players are more than eneught to take a t3 from 5 players….over time.
a full queue would be a no chance for the 5 players….

I would not mind to loose alot of boons and get better effect and mechanics for the boons that matter to guardian…. and its support, whatever its called support in this game….
But this is one BIG problem with ANet classes andtraits development, they overstack bons on top of boons w/o actually change what classes do with them.
its a spam brainlessgame after all….they will jsut keep adding more and more….

LOL, that would be another way to kill the guardian staff, the problem with staff is that ANet acknowledged it as a tag weapon, hence the radios increase to compensate the range change.
still its a nice joke 0 changes aproved…. even that auto atack would be awfull change…
I wouldn’t mind seeing the scepter 1 orbs doing a small splash damage around the target it hits.

Anet said last year that the players would drive the direction of WvW, but frankly we don’t have the tools or perspective to do so properly. And the WvW polls stopped awhile ago.
I too think that Anet needs to decide on a direction for WvW, and let the playerbase know what that direction will be.
Annnnd this is where i get very obtuse about ANet awfull quality….
I think ANet meant with that as to making players able to choose to start ktrain from left or right and wich bl to move to ktrain faster.

Open dueling arenas in pve main cities, ex: in ground pavillion or whatever is the name of the event map on DR city :P
Players can assist and queue for duels, like we had on EOTN norn cup but a open pvp map queue on pve instanced map.
Every X duels players receive prize, or rize is measured in the duels won and lost over match tournament.
Alternativelly, this instance could be addded to the spvp mists map.

Well, depends, there’s a thing called priorities…..
How priorities are established that depends the companies workflow, and what developers thinks what is critical VS what provides resources/income.
Even if they have several teams, it means nothing if those teams cant find solutions or the solutions they present when deployed are crap.
Remember the pvp team…. could not do a thing besides forecelly remove trinkets from game????

well that can be easilly fixed, i found a few issues wich ive been leeching as well…

Drop targets from cliff’s, well targers just fly away.

Still i would love some changes to happens to avoid above points.
Here are some ideias.
1) some sorta longer cast on deploying glidders they are instantly.. (2 Sec. would be decent IMO).
2) if target uses glidder on combat, glidder can be destroyed/damaged, ADD glidder repair as armor repair.
3) deploying glidder on combat would be slower +1 sec, and gives slow (turtle condi thing)to the user when he gets off glidder.
It seems like a mechanic that would be utilized by guardians, since barriers…….ya know……..guard. Lol
Doesn’t look that ANet logic follows that path….. ya know …… ANet happens.
And dev’s only use their guardians to show their weapon and armor skins nothing more.

No doubt CDs on F skills need to be lower. Also, I think it’d be totally appropriate to have a blink/teleport somewhere in the 15 tome skills, but I think having 1 in each tome is probably too much. But we need SOME mobility boost.
F’s cd’s need to be slightly adressed in all guardian Elite specs :]
I think ANet needs to give us a decent trade off for the low mobilty while pidgeonholed, we already have meditations for sliglthy better movement, on combat.
But imo this is a core guardian issue that gets spreaded into the elite builds, wich ends in players forcelly use medi"something" to be actually decent.
Medis has 2 teleports, one to target and other to ally with a heal, maybe the solution is to medi"insert some new utilities here" all over again….
They wont probably give us barrier nor passive speed in trait/utilities or another gap closer/ leap on f’s..
Imagine alone, each point above could be the selling point of further elite specs…..

ah yeah.. guard in pve was no existent to the date if i recall low support and low damage no trade off, must play dps roles with some relfects or for specific encounters, but that is due how pve was builted, not the class itself
Aegis on pve was always the mose anoying thing.. “let me just press skillfully on the right timming the block skill”…. burns skill and still get damage xD,even stability on some mobs they could KB..
That is how pve is builted… low skill all that needs and game forces itself for DPS keymashing, besides learn some key mob animations to dodge.. meh :\

You also set the parameter for top tier dps, which for me personally is of less important and would rather have a druid/chrono tier support build than do 35k.
And this is the whole argument, people did not roll Guardian to deal DPS but because it was said to be THE support class. Anet even said it would be for those Paragon, Monk, and Ritualist players who wanted to do support.
Yeah, if i understood that correctly, that defensive spec since ANet(and their awfull balance) wanted players to be carried by damage spam capabilities,guard was getting behind, and it was always a easy target if played on defensive/support way while its support was justabout stacking some boon bots, while ANet kept bufifng other classes (buffing what was already strong in some cases).
Azoqu.8917:, people nowadays only roll for damage(main objective of the game, its not hard to get carried in some classes either), that is what this game is about… FB has the support of core on steroids plus what always laked on support, a bit of DPS, and even has CC on mantras .
Still, being “carried by damage” due the low effort gameplay gw2 has its a burst race, mesmer is good at that.. has some boons stleath / blink, kills targets very fast is all that matters.

I see why they gave cone to mantras, they dont want FB to be a frontliner, its to help players to find a god positions behind alies, even so for what i noticed the cone was to tigh, needs at least 140-160 upwards.
OR make shout works in a 140-160 arc cone and give the 360 from shouts to mantras as trade off,and then buff shoutsa bit more (to avoid making mantras and meditations the only way to play the game….giving a 2-3 seconds stably to shouts as encouragement would be good for way to play :])

The old SW would work better even with FB ….
Its to soon to talk, since ANet needs after POF launch the balance path.
The new spec’s are very unbalanced since they are “new to the game”.
FB gets easilly killed with autos atacks just like i tough.. just keep far away and keep auto atacking.
