The 189 was a really, really quick estimate. As you could see, i didn’t even count offhands and i didn’t make the effort to count ele skills.

As you say Guild Wars 1…. -sighs- i wish people would stop a) comparing GW2 and GW1, they are not the same game and never will be; and b) remember that GW1 was a balance hell due to dual classing (which by the way, we have now too in this game).

But … i give up.
Limitations are bad, choice shouldn’t have any meaning behind it.

limitations are bad yes… and choices that have meaning did exist before and were supposed to have been reinforced with Elite Specs… Elite Specs were supposed to give us something new in exchange for something else… they weren’t supposed to be a power creep. A meaningful choice with Elite Specs would have been “Gain this new mechanic, at the cost of losing this old mechanic” instead we got “Gain this new mechanic at the cost of nothing”… and the power creep turned that into “Take this new mechanic or be massively underpowered”

What what is worse is that ANet likes how elites specs ended, even if borked up the game…
So im not expecting anything decent from the next expantion, the new specs will needto create the mandatory class progression system made by ANet the “must have feeling for new and easy gimmick”, wich will end with stupid gimmicks wars instead of a decent gamplay…

The thing is ANet even failled to manage theelite specializations wich make totally sense, since they never care or were good at managing the core.

GW2 pvp is the worst pvp i ever played while gw1 was one of the best if not the best pvp experience i had.
…overall very very inferior to GW1 pvp.

Class design is bad, classes are designed for pve aoe/cleave spam.

Damage output was increased with HoT to make the game easy towards more players.
Every one will look and feel better player with more damage….. its a placebo while players are being carried….

Stat system is a disgrace, so it is the Elite specializations….due how ANet managed to bork the gameplay.

Class balance is bad, due above reason, and ANet keeps enforcing easy damage for every one look good….w/o understanding the meaning of action gameplay, trade-offs, some classes ended with doing to much while others are easilly underwhelmed.

Poor tactics gameplay, its a burst DPS race, not much teamwork is needed….

ANET trying to blind players with the rewards system…..

And at last the gamemode, capture it gets old, while game doest allow anything else to be added cause it will look bad or easilly will end with ugly figths everywhere…

ANET FX your dammmn nuubage pve gimmicks so pvp gets decent….

Elites should be Split from core in pvp. You play à core build in pvp, you’ll most likely get trashed by your team
or ,in some rare cases, death treathened.

Now THIS I can get behind one hundred percent!

its an anology, the feeling that the home bl belongs to the players liek a house and others want to steal from them, players have some pride on the stuff that belongs to them.

What offensive advantages?
WvW is way to much based in aoe stacking and the more players the better…. if u loose a t3 or a garri, for use u dont have enough population to get any kind of advantage.

Why focus on defending our Garrison versus controlling the enemy Garrison? The answer: Waypoints. Because we have a waypoint (Citadel) near our garrison, it’s much easier to run down a short ways to defend Garrison than trudge halfway across the map to defend/control the enemy Garrison.

basically want a glorified waypoint? And how is that different than creating a glorified waypoint on the enemy map?

Having a waypoint is very important…. for hills and bay defense is one of the examples…
Taking structures can be so fast and easy if u know what ur doing that if u run from spawn it will to late….

Still its the home borderlands… has much WvW is useless gameplay at least players see some pride on keeping their side clean of enemies.. so loose stuff is bad.

Not having waypoints only delay response time. It’s not a very harsh penalty to losing these keeps. You also lose your waypoints if the enemy does paper. So how is that much different from now? With that said, I’m not seeing that much of a difference between owning your Garrison or the enemy one.

u gain nothing in loosing stuff, but will loose alot….. cause if u arent of the server with more population on the match yoiur gona have a bad time, and the gap at the momment in WvW is really a large gap.

- you will loose point ticks
- total HP(more structure more HP… so zerg servers with more players have 3-4k hp advantage already…. over the smaller and outmaned servers).
- Chance of structures starting to get ktrained (wich is super easy already when they are t2, and on t3 a full stack zerg will melt that structure in 1 minute.. )
- Hard time to get it to t3 again for waypoint and more ticks points.
- much lower response for recap structures and camps

Would u mind if u go to your home and steal the tv or the ocmputer??
well u can still steal your neighbor tv and computer, i dont see much of diference in that… trade per trade….

Damage output condi and phisical will get increased with next expansion to make the new classes desirable…

expect to play against of loads of fire stacks in a very fast rotation base game….the spam will be far worse than we already have, that is how ANet has been “improving” the class prograssion.

ANet should nerf condis for to work on well made ganks/spikes only and should bring back Hexes….. cause they already failed with this condi based system since they are making the game classes pve based in 1st place….

The way ANet does stuff is not made in the mentality of trade offs and power to choose/decide for one thing over the other, ANet overall for what i understand and seen is that they dont want players to have that kind of pusnishment(as they see the tradeoffs as punishments), all they think is increase rewards/or wathever is the results the players are looking with less effort, and less pusnishment.

Still, loosing stuff is bad, and when u loose stuff in BL or EB corner make very sense for people to get that way… its like ur getting stealled @ home , and WvW isnt EOTM where nothing matters….

Not all classes perform well in same gear stats.

if you are a guardian, the answer is no… game is all about damage output and guardian dont gain nothing going on defensive stats, unless u want to leech from the group your with….but u could contribut with alot of dps and still have some minor support at same time.

if ur rev, druid, ele u have better results, i think even scrapper can achieve better results with that gear :\ and with some boon duration food.

(EDIT) gw2 is all about damage output.

its a pve problem that is borking up the entire game….and ANet is careless on the stats values, add the awfull balance/class design.

players that want to make damage output should go squishy some classes due the pve balance and class feel for pve are bit broken.

I like this idea. Anet has tried to encourage it with skirmishes, but it’s status quo.

What would be the ideal motivator? Don’t say loot, that’s always just a short term fix and borks the game economy.

It feels a band aid in a system that gets broken to easy :\, since the core issues are still there.

I do like the idea as well, but that alone wont make wvw better :\, ANet already thinks that giving faster rewards for low pop servers is already an amazing thing :\

I think this might conflict in what ANet wants to rewards the players.

there no better defense than damage in this game, players only need to burst harder and faster than the target.
This is their defenition of action mmo while actually lacking the roles necessary for it.

Game was developed for players to be carried with high damage gameplay, defensive builds are ment to fail overall, except in some classes that can still do better damage and defensive gaemplay than guardian, but that is ment for pve and shows how good ANet is porting the pve classes to pvp…. for some reason this game is known to be the joke of mmo’s, ment for badies.

Im not expecting decent results witthin the next expantion, will be condi removal to massival fire damage based class (the more conditions u remove /convert back has fire damage).
Probably a easy gimmick counter (to some effect) to counter the way how easy is to get carried with high damage condi builds.

Other classes will still be better by miles, if u dont make your build tuned to damage otput mostly.

damage output creep is ment for noobs(for brainless players that just want to leach the awfull class design ANet enforces from PVE), every one looks good while still mastering the builds due the high numbers, and how easy is to play a build with a huge gap ierformance.

TDLR; It’s ANet dont expect anything good when its about class skills and design… they are only good at artwork…
And expect more power creep beign in condi or raw power with more aoe/cleave as well, so people will want to buy next specializations….

Guardian/DH overall are easy countered, reason they have alot of blocks, like DH f3, shelter RF, and the low health its a bit of a joke, since armor from light to heavy its a 15% damage reducing.~

@Kuya.6495, deppends… if the DH make damage yes if no, he get wrecked easilly.

No, no, was just comparing the adition of the 1k ish from the elite signet compared with the RF wich can be traited to heal and refresh virtues since no combat last that long to imply the RF has a long CD, compared with the signet over time heals.

I never tried the signet after the CD reduce, but imo easy to interrupt and f*** up the guard badly.

DH f2 has issues :\
When u think u will heal target and u see no heal and ur very close to the target…. or when target moves a bit from the landing zone while ur in mid air animation….

hummm that is true but some classes need to sacrifice a bit more stats in one side to perform the same or not so good in other builds, all stats are the same but not all classes use well the same stats, some ended with a performance so good that they needed to remove the stats from pvp :|
The good combination of stats for guardians dont work like warriors nor other class, so i cant imagine a guardian healing 1k-1.2k every 8 seconds with that signet lasting much on combat.

That signet migth work on WvW if u pair a team of 5+ “signeters”, and btw the signet only heals if guard HP is not at max, wich means u take small damage nad first heal is wasted, wait another 8 seconds if u have traited signets.
Guardian design on shouts/SW/signets is very underwhelming and gets outdated super fast due how the game is being played and balanced.
We only have one elite skill, and meditations/ traps has utilities, consecratio hammer build migh be something usable just in WvW and pve maybe, and in wvw is a leech builds that do much.

Guardian F2 is easier to heal ally than DH f2, f3 looses the stun breaker when DH trait is active, yeah becomes more selfish, but imo they are used in diferent situations.

just play what is mandatory for mots matches, DPS DH meditations based build with menders, u have a anti stealth F1, and aoe heal for support and even a f3 to help not getting bursted, an elite to heal and refresh virtues as well , shouts are very underwhelming, due the easy high output damage is avaliable to the game jsut a minimal boon for X seconds where is can be removed or tranformed to condi or even have a very small impact on the fight.

The only good thing that shouts are decent is to support aoe clensing, wich every other class with shouts can have.

One thing for sure u can bunker with meditations and traps much more than shouts or anything else on guard.

For weapons i would choose sword/focus with hammer or mace/shield.
The blinds from sword and focus(also traited with focus mastery) are excelent as well.

IF u want a support bunker :\ well game is a mess overall i would not find strange a revenant or a warrior with banner (lol) doing better support than a guardian, but that is me talking out of thin air, since im trying to cut off from gw2 entirelly.

Bunker Meta so boring!

So you would rather have a fight Vs a brick wall who shrugs of all damage and condi, than a interactive fun fast placed bersk meta what fun!

Bunker meta is cancer, has everyone forgot just how unfun the buncker ele meta was now we have it 10x worse as most classes are doing the same lame kitten!

Not all classes can bunker well when in bunker stats, and some dont need thoso stats to gain surviability.

Classes are designed for pve content, in first place they need to carry players in pve with some feeling Dev’s think a ccertain class should have for pve.
Since ANet will never change the rule of PVE in 1st place since its the main objective of the game, u will end with some classes doing to much for what they sacrifice, and atm gw2 suffers from this effect, wich sometimes both happen in the same class.

Ajax then u are trying with the wrong class, guard is the class the sacrifices more for bunker that gets the worst results, no damage, poor surviability, low to minimal support, no escaples, lack of mobility.

ANet made guard a DPS burster trap gimmick, or go playa 10k-12k burn tick build.

Guardian defenses and blocks are easy to overwhelm or ignore, even that DH F3 wall can be a self trap for the DH when facing classes with unblockable skills and at least a decent player.
Even the guardian focus is easy to avoid….

Still the best support for guard would be the DH virtues for team support and traited vurtues on a dps speced build, and alot of player dont know how to counter DH f3.

DPS and Support cause full bunker on guard other classes can still outdamage easilly your defenses and HP.

GW1 mesmer definitely.

to hard to play for the 90% gw2 player quality.

As the gw2 mesmer so its a perfect match

actually the gw2 version is way much easier :|

on 1vs 1 gw1 mesmer u needed to be good to kill a player, on gw2 u dont… but thats the game overall.

Reason team spikes and ganks were required, on gw2 one player can achieve t alone when in gw1 was necessary team effort and even the spike was required certain timmings.

Overall in terms of pvp was much more complicated, even gimmicks had a lrager margin to fail against non gimmicks, here on gw2 gimmicks will be the first andmajor thing to count to win a combat. ence mesmer mechanics compared with the gw1 version are far superior and much more bursty.

Nowadays standards in game industry are more about pretending than actually do something.

@InsaneQR.7412, well in that case, sounds like a sanctuary but w/o the kB and the heal, still like RabbitUp said, to similiar with some skills.

Could be interesting if we could move it like the ventari tablets, but aoe’ing aegis+stunbreaker when moved.

But ANet dont like strong defensive stuff(only offensive for players look kewl in the dps burst race), it would make the game harder for most gw2, so i doubt any changes might occurr.

5k-10k is a normal value :\ it actually happens alot.

Just adapt and play somethign that is easy to play due damage and defense.

Elite specialization were needed to make the game more easy to create the gimmicks for the developers, even yet they failled with that design, it made the game worse.

InsaneQR.7412, shield dome is mandatory. :P still needs to happen when i take the damage.

You basically have a dome on shield. Something like a ranged version would be nice. You throw the shield on a target location and produce a dome tgat applies aegis and morphs projectiles into healing projectiles.

to fight druids, and some range spammers i really need both…. since i dont play damage gimmicks on my guard.
Guard cant loose the SW dome, not my fault if people dont know how to use it, and its a stun break and a block, that can be traited to heal and remove condi as well.

RabbitUp.8294, its a an abosrb, if was a blocks it would make use loose condis with the DH trait :P, the pve players alredy QQ with the blcoks guard has since they cant spam lol…

And in WvW is a anti omega golem weapon in pair with WoR, and the off hand shield dome.

Seems to me that hammer reve needs nerf. That reaper who played better actually did go down.

hamme rev does stupid damage, im playing one and my only defenses are the heal on legends plus 2 dodges.

on a small groups fight i try to ninja a bit and keep auto is 3k-5k(8k was my max) with the flame sigil from afar its a tons of damage if some one with less than 50% hp comes to me he gets mostly insta killed lol, if the target dont dodge. ofc.

on larger combat i tend to ask to other revs to call their targets so we can eraze the map in that damge zone.

Its nice bulldozer lol…

Someone please post a video of a ranger killing a guardian, because thats gonna turn the entire WvW meta upside down and change zerging forever.

They are not designed for combat, they melt, even to my rev autos.

btw Swagger.1459, im fully agree with you, balance is torwards make bad players feel like they are doing nice if they choose a gimmick, mmo for players that are bad @ mmo’s.

Reason pvp failed, since they need to enforce the easy damage output, it makes playres more carried and they will feel rewarded, and they kinda enforced the pve spam game into the pvp world.
The worse is that ANet is a bit brainless to spot and realize their game isnt that good, they dont care to fix the flaws where they are, they prefer to go arround with a few placebos.
MO is outdated….. and the way they think is super wrong.

GPU passtrough solved my issue for some time, still i dont play much on that comper cause some friends told me that mmo playing on VM’s tend to get banned.

yeah vulkan would be nice to see if would worth it, defenitly gw2 would be the top game for linux.

Boon duration buff should be tied to who has virtues traited and not tied to when using staff skils only….
Overall the traits are messed up.. . and creating alot of conflict.

Maybe they only want meditations and traps to work, and consecrations with hammer on that line….. meh, while what matters on that line is the 20%CD on consecrations and the heals share or stability on f3.

ANet can… u guys do something for class out of pvp as well?? i would like to play my guardian in WVW again since i only use mace shield / staff with shouts…

the problem on guardian core support is not only in pvp.

Are you kidding me? Guardian is the MOST COMMON profession in WvWvW. At least here in the top tiers of EU. It is not unusual to see that one third of entire zergs are made out of shout guardians. If any profession needs toning down for WvWvW, guardian comes to my mind 1st. It does NOT make any sense to buff guardian for WvWvW, because soon we could see almost everybody there just playing a guardian, while other professions get more and more ignored.

so keep guardian underperforming in some spots?

u guys still stacking lots of guardians??? thats the past already… u guys have better options.
And btw its not a that a big buff to guardian…

if they improved force of will to 2-3% would be a really good help since guards sacrifice alot to get a decent value o healing power, and the build itself.

@OP u need damage in this game 2k at least on power , if u dont do damage expect do die fast, guardian trade off if go defense isnt like other classes, guard still melts with his mediocre support.

Use the Menders amulet…

Just accept it. Anet has adopted the “pay money to get stronger” mantra.

Next expansion will probably have every elite spec doing 30k damage in one shot with perma invuln / stealth.

While they shutdown what was working as well, to make the new stuff acceptable since has alot of power creep players will say its baalanced since they dont need much effort.

Might be kind of broken getting 50~% outgoing healing from a single trait with high vitality, but I wouldn’t complain.

it isnt, i get arround 25-27% and is awfull, u dont notice the boost….. even with 30k hp its useless trait.
U will also need:
->Food with healing power and 10% outgoing heal
-> Sigil with 10% outgoing heal
-> close to 1k healing power

Even with those, the output support is less than the pvp build, mace heals arround 800, and most guardian heals, the quoficients are to low for the boosts do anything.

well mace heals could be done in the 3 atacks, or at least on the 2nd and 3rd one:
->mace autos 150 -300 -550
->mace symbold needs to cast faster or in exchange a better regen/heal pulse.i
->mace 3, bugs when u jump :P.. so while moving dont jump or will bug..

Indeed empower roots 2seconds for 600 3k heal and migh, range increased to 900-1k would be really nice tho.

Staff 2nd skill needs to be soemthing else.. yes for me its somethign i cant use at over 400-600 range, theres arround 75% chance will bug.

Mace autos should be something stronger some classes have very strong autos @ offensive … that would be really good support weapon when some one needs to pull to melee range instead of cast stability like a maniac and try to pull range so u can keep spamming empower :\.

Guard with that should still be easilly taken down when vs 2 players so i dont see it OP, make some atrition but not a stupid bunker like some classes can do.

edit.. and shield should be on virtues instead of hammer :P, that dome could be boosted(in duration) by sanctuary/consecrations, would give alot of sinergy for support defense, since most player with hammer actually run meditation that is on the shied line.

And with this guardian would win another choice and playstyle, and due how this game works would be very balanced.

What happened is that ANet got lost….right aftger game release, and they bet on the wrong things where now they cant compensate and tweak it.

It has been more a bandage aid that will need more bandage aids over time.

2. fix skill lags.

The problem with condis is that they are super easy to reaply nomatter how many cleanses the target has, condi damage stats should be glass cannon if they wan to do high damage ouput be in condis or phisical, players need to sacrifice surviability.

oh wait would not be balance for pve….

The only invuln that really irritates me is on the Mesmer. The class shouldn’t have high evade, invuln, stealth, blocks, etc up time mixed in with clones.

The passive Warrior invuln is a bit much but only a bit.

True, but can u imagine how many mesmer could burst targets before go down?
Alot of mesmers are being carried by how the class works, and most mesmers cant understand how even strong the class is lol… they dont evade that much.

And mesmer needs all that for pve gameplay its ment to have burst and all those stuff , actually mesmer trade off arent that well designed overall.

@mage it needs to be better due how game is being played, dont forget that builds do more damage on WvW due food and more stats, and it looks like WvW guard lack compared with the pvp performance.
When u want to reach faithfull strike your need to bail out of melee due red circles bomb incomming , or targets are already ded :|

play hammer support with consecration imo is out of question….its feels very clunky.

Healing is stronger because of food too though. :>
And that’s why the mace’s auto-attack is garbage supportively in any serious situation, because who on earth is gonna wait in a 180 radius next to an enemy while you finish your 3-4 second combo for a pitiful 1k heal. Druids already have trouble healing in melee range without having to have an enemy right next to them to finish a combo. I honestly can’t comprehend why some people think the mace is a better healing weapon than the staff; it has its strong points, but allied healing is not one of them.

Sounds like mace was never ment to work on a bursty game still mace as a bit of damage denial, and when paired with shield with ur staff is on CD, mace/shield has 2 heals on blocks(when traited) that can heals plus 2 aegis for damage denial, and dome burst also heals.

Staff 2nd skill is unrealiable to heal since the start of the game, it bugs alot, im using it to heal @ melee range allies to avoid making it bug, with a cast and burst right after cast, wich is stupid.

So that left us with only 1 skill as decent to heal with staff, Empower, that roots the caster, wich makes u a easy target, its a situational heal, i use more the 7k-9k heals from the DH f2 than the empower… wich i need to predict allied movements to get them healled -.-", or it will miss the heal if i dont land on same or closest 2 cells near that ally….
