tks, ill try with the basis of discovering exotics once in a while.
One other choice is to make the populations status in real time… instead of designate a server full or “with space” based on metrics over time…
Players and ANet could see when that server has lack of players or not, one other thing , population needs to be take into account on the server up and down, the gap on some servers, or NA servers is very very large, a servers migh be in one tier figthing very low population servers wich will result in ktrain, and if go up will be completelly blobbed 24/7.
So if a server has less population than the server that is going down, that movement should be impaired, every time gap is such big servers should not fall nor raise.

You mean like the condi tank meta now? A good percentage of condition players in WvW are already running full dire or trailblazer. If not they are at the very least mixing them with viper. I don’t believe the damage with condition play is as important to address as the way they can be quickly reapplied with a dozen other cover conditions on top. That being said, there are several aspects that need to be looked at…
- The rate at which conditions can be reapplied by one player
- The resistance boon (rate of application and current strength being 100% negation)
- The current condition meta using gear that adds significant toughness and vitality while being able to deal high amounts of damage
About that last bullet point… while there are similar gear stats for power that add vitality or toughness along with significant damage application rarely can you find a situation that utilizes both. Condition gear can significantly mitigate both types of damage while dealing a very good amount of damage in the process. I don’t think this healthy for a PvP mode.
I’m fine with condi tanky gear being nerfed, but they have to nerf general tankiness as well. After all it was the tank creep that led to condi meta being a thing, since old school backline power setups became useless.
that will result in ANet nerf guardian, wich guardian has already plenty of counters no matter how tanky u try to be.

So im playing this game since beta, and i only play WvW, how u guys can craft/reach lvl 500 on ascended, u guys follow a guide and burn real money to reach those lvl’s ?
Atm i am arround 420-430 in weaponsmith and armorsmith but finding that i cant raise more :|, anything that i need to craft to lvl up is a ton of gold.

yup, afk pip farm all that matter is the rewards apearing out of nowhere
oh.. i dont care about rewards either… since its impossible to fight at this time im not even taking structures back.
Well all of that is due pve and how dev’s feel the classes should survive in its spam pve design… classes are pure pve design at the end.
I think anet definitely understands that the purpose of pvp is salt harvesting.
the entire game is about that XD, from trolls to trolls.
Still maybe they are just preparing stuff , ANet has been always changing the game randomly and brainless, maybe this time they have some stable strategie behind all of that.

Guardians don’t maintain viability because of support, contrary to the OP’s claim.
care to explain that? i think i didnt get it cause that is what i was saying due the amount of stats required sacrificed for the support role….. or im translating that sentence.. wrongly?
Faithful Strike is ~1k healing, Staff 2 explosion is ~2k, Empower is ~4k. How is it working for you guys so far? What builds would you make to work with the changed skills and is it even worth playing support?
I tried Symbolic with core Guard and Honorable Staff trait, running Sword/Shield+Staff. Seemed okay, but not sure if it’s actually good.
Interesting that values are arround the ones i can pull with my build outside pvp, runing the 10% healing output sigil + trait with 24-27% heal output, with arround 800-1k healing power.

It add nothing, its just a visual thing, they cant do much besides eye candy stuff for the kewl 2020 kids.
I love the hypocrisy of saying Ele doesn’t have enough blast finishers when the entire guardian profession has 3, and one of them on a spirit weapon.
i rather have something else worked on the class to work decently outside pvp, the stats sacrifice to work on support or bunkerish builds is agressive and we achieve some strange and weak support, it kills the guardian actually.
Ooutside pvp guardian with mace shield loose all damage to do 800 damge and 900 to arround 1k crits on zerkers, the support is still low nor the class can feel sturdy to be in pair with the stats sacrifice.

Too bad the real WvW update only included PvP balancing. Other than that, yay, I suppose.
i feel like i want to delete my guardian………. those ….. buffs and they are only for pvp… while guardian mace sheals on WvW are a joke due th einvestements on stats that needs.
ANet can… u guys do something for class out of pvp as well?? i would like to play my guardian in WVW again since i only use mace shield / staff with shouts…
the problem on guardian core support is not only in pvp.

Guardian
Support builds for guardians have fallen out of favor due to the strength of the support builds on other professions. In this update, we have looked at a few core skills on staff, mace, and shouts to help support guardians retain viability.
Detonate Orb of Light: The heal scaling of this skill has been increased by 20% in PvP only.
The healing of this skill was a bit low, considering the difficulty of hitting multiple allies. We have increased the heal scaling to better reward players who use this ability well.
Empower: Increased the base healing of this skill by 100% in PvP only.
Empower did not offer enough reward given the risk of a stationary 2.5-second channel, so we have significantly increased the healing granted by this skill.
Faithful Strike: The heal scaling of this skill has been increased by 100% in PvP only.
“Hold the Line!”: The protection duration of this skill has been increased from 4 seconds to 6 seconds in PvP only.
we had like 20-30 on queues max on the next 2-3 after the rewards update, meybe eb reached arround 50 on the first day, after that we went to the normal magic find and pip++ nsp buff (like we call it).

i wish i knew any guilds who wanted to tranfer :|, about the pip bonus.. meh, i always prefer gameplay over rewards…. but its somewhat acceptable since we cant do nothing besides cap a camp, ninja a tower, spend 12 miunutes afk pip farming, see if theres anything to do, if not then back to work.
Small bandage or not, actually for how WvW works atm, it was always the best scheme, since ANet never wanted to drop servers or to change the gamemode itself to something diferent and simplier to avoid alot of later problems.
Still until friday will be a mess for me wvw time :\ the population gap.. is really noticeable, hope to have at least some fun with that.
One thing that ANet needs to change is how they servers are set to full, meybe they can divide the day in 3 sectors and show the server status during those “sector” times, if guild, this would help guilds to transfer to more emptier timezones where those servers were stated overall full.

oh ic, so a server hit a queue on reset, but its outmaned for most time of the days, must be a full server.
So if a guild wants to tranfers to a server that is always empty until late hours they cant…

I think we should be able to end renewed focus early by pressing the skill/button again. There are too many times we can die to condis while invulnerable…
You can cancel it, it just goes on full cooldown.

So you’d like an ability that let’s you go invulnerable every 5 seconds as you cancel it before it can finish?
yup that would be balanced, 5 seconds is plenty of time to kill a target.
Joking asside, duno why i tough RF had a casting time, maybe cause ive been interrupted during RF initial seconds, mesmers do this to me more often, but ive been interrupted by a ele as well.
ktrainers love it… tipical gw2 player love low effort high rewards.

Big servers vs smallers servers, all what those small server have to do is to create gameplay for bigger servers ktrain back structures, while that is happening WvW is working as intended.
if u notice, tell me how many servers are figting each other that have a similiar population peaks at the same time, if u notice this is more often to get on the linked team side, while serversthat have more population on a diferent timezone will be setted as a match to fight for.
its a ktrain timezone fest if your server gets paired to a giant stacked server… well patience… that is how the game is ment to work, since it was designed for pve players try pvp with their pve gimmicks.
@Liston.9708m the same, ive reached 9-13 pips, i was like wtf this would be a nice afk farm, about the bonus pip, im always on that week bonus side….
Move to NSP if u want to farm pips lol, since ANet is pairing us against servers with a big gap in population coverage and size…. we lack players almost every one dropped form the game we even lost alot of commanders due to “HoT lameness”, just a few try harders remain ….

Maybe was designed to be exploited since ANet never cared to improve the pvp (it was always very leechy), dont forget that ANet love shortcuts tactics even if they are based on lame gimmick or tactics, its a game ment to leech, all they do is mind manipulation with the rewards improvements, they were/are more interested in blind players with rewards than actually improve the ladders.
This is a pve only game, pvp is here cause was strong in this game precursor, and a mmo w/o pvp for how awfull it is, needs to have its pvp…

Offhand mace would be my vote. A guardian using guns doesn’t work in my head. shrug
Are you familiar with Witchhunters from the Warhammer universe or Inquisitors from the 40k side? That’s how I could/would imagine a guardian with guns.
Familiar with Inquisitors. Not analoguous to guardians in my head. I’m not sure 40K has one….
On 40kWHM lore guardians would be like a gw2 rifle warrior, still im not expecting much from the next expantion, since they borked up alot with the DH and with HoT awfull class designs, it would be better to be a pistol(for pvp reasons) main and some other type of better utilities instead of these based on smash buttons gimmicks.
ANet @ game balance and class design…. never expect a good job….. they even called the dragon hunter was based on wich hunters…. wtf…

@ThatDudeJon.2597, small populations or empty servers sometimes get stacked automatically every 2 months if i reccall the link time duration well, and servers cant make that genra of alliances in this game, not actually an alliance but a forced one
As usual i logged on and NSP+BP is outmaned
in all maps, war never changes….

And its way more easy to be carried with damage output in this game than actually play with some mind and toughs on good gameplay, this game is way more simple than people thinks.
Shouts actually and consecrations it is not hard to overwhelm that kind of support, so imo better support with mobility and damage.
Not really the most sound logic. If you’re playing a DPS build in a team comp then that’s fine, but if your necro needs support then I guarantee that doing more damage isn’t going to solve that glaring issue.
Also, mobility/damage =/= support. No offense but I literally cringe when I see people saying “I’m supporting my allies by dealing damage”.
I know i felt the same when i was typing (i tend to play support on games )it but that is how ive find myself getting the best results, leech the damage ouput the game has, , guardian/dh has already some team defenses, and i would play with it, bit not make a full support build, primary on offense and then would tweak it a bit to adapt for the other person in team.
Even for WvW ive abandoned my guard/DH, im playing a zerker rev with hammer no condi removals no defensives besides 2 dodges and 1 heal, pure hammer spam leech due its damage output forcing other playrs to pull back or panicking them.
PM the bot ~;), if its a bot will log off.
Methmatics, queues are know to get borked up, it happened in the past as well.

Feel my Wrath’s quickness can turn the tides of a match (and can convert 1 condition+1 cleanse with the right setup)
Renewed focus without CD reduction it’s a pain and isn’t really needed if you don’t play aggressive marauder but a support build.
But without many on demand stability option the long casting sigils aren’t very helpful..
Sadly betting in meditations reaches a higher performance :\ , smitter boon + monk focus.
More heal, and more condi cleanses, well the support i tended to use in pvp was “melt targerts before it lays eggs” its all that needs to play pvp in this game.. :\ then i would add a few things for support when was needed.Mediations don’t support party members as well as the other skills.. and support it’s important: don’t make your ally die easily and don’t let your foes rally with kills.

Expect more aoe condi with next expantion or skills that aplly a full stack.
Condis are here to stay since it makes the game more easier for those who play it with the aoe spam stacking, GW2 was ment even for a chipmunk look like a pro gammer.

Playing rev hammer zerker in WvW w/o condi cleanses nor escapes all that im doing is the spam.. 6k-10k aoe hits and 3k-4k auto atacs cleaves, just play to be carried by ANet awfull pvp.
Since i only play WvW in this game, i dont think i will play much my guardian :\

Mace/shield sward/focus is wath i was using in pvp as well, and still use on WvW.
Well DH trait “hunter fortification” helps condi cleanse but w/o meditation or more condi cleanse ur a easy target IMO.
When i played condi builds, guardian and DH not runing meditation + traps, even nowadays they are easy to kill.
The best support in this game is the damage stacking, all we can have for support are the virtues or some heals on blocks, but still it is easiers to get carried with damage output builds + medi based.
I could criticise ANet for their tons of pvp mistakes, but this is not the topic.

healing power on pve…. its has bad for pve… as it is for pvp, thats to much sacrifices with poor results, at least how class is badly designed to make players (as in force them) to play gimmick roles.
I doubt tomes will be anything decent on defensive stats, imo it will be more even about DPS with aoe support converting condis to fire damage, or similiar to the Ritualist weapons “tranformation” the old aoe bombardment with autos…with splinter weapon if i recall the skill name well.
Imo the best weapons to use on a healing/support build would be hammer or mace/shield, but mace/shield is very underwhelming, the 2 blocks are nice but has team support weapons they have very low quoficients.
Tuning up hammer for heal build :\, well the virtues heal sharing 120-130 hp per second, even warriors get more from healing signet….
Mace auto needs more heal:
True Strike needs a 100 base heal
Pure Strike would receive a 250 base heal
Faithfull Strike would receive a 400-500 base heal
Staff:
Orb of light, needs its detonation removed, and trait needs the 20% boon removed as well, in exchange boost healing output on staff skills + CD on staff skills.
The 20% boon would go to virtues traitline.
For some reason i feel that DH should be rectified to a support role, and traps removed XD and exchanged with Wards or Symbols… buffing the DH while figthing inside instead of carry players on the power creep damage output gimmick…
THe DH virtues are dammn nice ~:| that 8k-10k aoe heals every 25sec, that wall on f3 that allows to tank against players oor mobs with poor unblockables etc.
The DH trait “hunters fortification” that could be tweaked to be less selfish and could tune our aegis/blocks to cleanse a condition.
The problem with the next Guardian spec is that ANet will buff even further the spam on this game and with this condis will be improved as well to make the new specs desirable (note that ANet exchanged armor progression to mandatory gimmicks specs), so to hide or “pretend” to balance the new guard will be the counter gimmick to some condi spam gameplay, nothing more, and to be accepted ANet for sure will power creep a few skills if players dont like the spec just like they did with the DH.
..ANet is awfull at class design and balance…i dont expect anything good being released after HoT.

Likely a lag problem. If a person CC’ed you (on their screen) before you activated renewed focus (on their screen), it’s possible for you to get CC’ed when you think you’re safe.
yeah its strange, but it didnt felt like lag, i think theres some mechanics that gets borked up, since it didnt happened just one or two times, there must be some skill that is “overpassing” in some circunstances.
Just like sometimes we could clone ourselves with Wall of refflection as copy guardians, when mesmers used i think it was with a specter skill atackign our WoR.
u guys should see the NA… 1 server most of time is completelly outmaned, Anet has been matching empty servers against full stacked servers almost 24/7.
if A and B dont want to fight they can ktrain C.
88 is so low that it might as well not be there. Ele’s Water Blast is 375 base, and with 1600 healing you get from Magi’s (it’s a bit more actually, but ease of calculations), it’s 775.
If Wave of Wrath healed only if you hit an enemy with it, and it healed for 170 (0.15), it would be perfectly balanced. It would also not heal the guardian, making it a non-issue for bunkering in pvp.
With 1600 healing, it’s 410, slightly above ele’s base numbers.
what can a guardian with that value on healing power can do?
thats a self suicide…all that the atacker need is to do is auto atacks.. to win, ele can swap elements and still do more damage :\
Guardian blocks can be traited to aply fire damage, to stack more fire when blocking guards can use Guardian runes as well.
Gw2 is heavy on the cpu, get a WC for the cpu and clock it.
clocked my 6700k to 5.4ghz, noticed a big diference.

Conditions cant be casted in invunerability targets, but stacks aplyed before will continue to tick.

They should get their own group XD, let the aoe spamway stacking do their work while they could be pew pewing from far (like a separate group in the blob/squad but still belongs in it), thiefs would gank straglers from the enemy tail or pull targets with scorp wire that got no stability.
Game is all about be cheap and stack, while u stack to achieve some broken result ur playing the game well.
