as other said population is based on WvW only, the issue is if a server gets a queue it will reach full, even if is empty during 90% of the time.
servers need to have more informations, as in 3 time states, for morning stat, afternoon, and nigh population stat. not a laber thats is misgading and borking alot the stuff.
nothing changed for the server i play we continue to fightmost time outmaned… now the outmaned warning is borked up since ANet noticed the crap they have done with i pip afk farm….
“When ANets add stuff thats endsconflicting with other mechanics”……. its normal stuff to happen in gw2..

Eotm is fun and relaxing, i can spend the whole day there without noticing time going on.
By the way it will be good opportunity to get some achievs like bridge buster.
I see lots of vets say things like pvers are ruining the game mode. Or players who only want rewards are ruining wvw. Or players who want less grind for rewards are ruining wvw.
In my opinion it’s players who play it to “relax” that water down the content and the experience.
Sry but i do my homework. I have a guard with WvW build, im in some WvW dedicated guilds.
However come to reality, who keep the WvW alive are the ktrainers. As far as the typical “pros” who claim that no one is a “real wvw” are concerned, WvW would limit guild fights that last for a maximum of 3 hours after the reset and spend the rest of the day locked. Ktrainers and pugmanders is who extend the life of the WvW.
K training in wvw only really happens when one side has the coverage for that timezone and the others do not. Its not a case of two forces run around in circles like in eotm.
that happens 90% of the time……. when isnt blue its red or green, if theres more than one blob each one fight on maps where they can capture w/o a fight…. usually both gang the server with less population, wich contradicts what ANet have sated before, sayign that the weaker servers tend to atack the bigger one, its totally the other way arround….

No updates to the game mode other then scoring.
No class balance or skills that are altered for wvw specifically.
Rewards gated behind ridiculous rank requirements.
Skirmish tickets weekly cap is extremely low.
Too grindy for new players to hit weekly ticket cap or get rank hi enough so it is easier.
No other way to earn tickets other then grinding participation and maintaining it with mindless activities.
New participation system eliminates even more ways of playing wvw and makes maintaining participation a chore.
No tournaments or anything exciting planned for the near future.
Not much to expect when u do a mmo that feels like a android game, thats what they have managed to do, a android feel alike game that only runs on pc….
WvW wont get fixed , conditions need to behave like this since they wanted an alternative way for damage in pve, pvp side is in automode, all they will do is counter with new specs/traits with some gimmicks behind it, imaine the new guard trait that will make lots of fire stacks converting condis on allies to 5 players in aoe of those allies.

to static, to redundanct, and very limited freedom it would be a pain to code a decent mob or it would result in awfull combat.

Hammer AA, or most AA from every class should be single targetted excep for staff ele and a few other reasonable autos like guardian staff as well, or at least they need to be a bit tweaked, wich we all know ANET is a joke at class design and game balance.
TO MUCH AOE/CLEAVE is what made this game ugly, its sad that ANet keeps enforcing it… with stupid gimmicks vs stupid gimmicks…

ranger AA has several counters besides dodge calles reflects and absorbs, still same aplyes for rev hammer Auto but Rev hammer is a cleave skill while ranger bow AA is single.

damage ouput creep comes from PVE :P its the pve that is borking up the game…. this is a pve game after all, pvp is just there to pretend this game had pvp things…

Still we are discussing “power” creep in a game that was designed to be a damage oupout creep, wich it helps alot who isnt good since they dont need to bother much to see big numbers on the scren, if every one plays power creep every one looks a good player, its just a matter of GG and burst faaster than target.

Even mace shield shouts gards are easy to beat in a few secconds, they arent defensve eneught for how easy is to achieve power creep mommentum against bunker guards…
game is ment to carry players by damage, i actally play a full zerker hammer rev with no defenses….leech powercreep hammer, its actually hilarious(in a bad way) when i hit a ton of damage… from safe place, game is all about being a stupid 111 cleave spammer that stacks aoe spam on top of other spammers..

Saiyan.1704, tell that to ANet, bad players still think guardian is unkillable…. and ANet needs to make the game easy for those bad players as well, wich results in DH/guardian falling back behind other classes quite easilly, with one or two DPS dps gimmicks that only work in power creep situations to carry the players….
choovanski.5462, the evade system on BDO is more based in player reaction than the 2 dodges this game have… in gw2 players are ment to be easilly killed, its a burst spam wars.
GW2 is ment to be easy on offensive for everyone, where even a chipmunk can look and do some decent work, reason power creep exist, to make the game more simpler to every one.
Even a bad player like me looks nice and kills easilly with how the damage output and cc works in this game… sadly player skill small factor all that we need is to play the most broken class and gimmick and learn how to spam well and the correct order of keysmashing.

What ANet says might not be true the next minute…I mean WvW is what you make of it. But most people play it to zerg.
people play for the rewards(mostly), zerg is just a gimick to stack the aoe spam and reduce the risk.
WvW could be a decent gamemode …. if had lesser aoe/cleave stacking or be more in team work and less in powercreep gimmicks where some offer a low effort gameplay due pve being mandatory on how classes work, the game should be making players need to know what they need to atack beisdes 111111cleave spam aoe skill, back to 111111 cleave spam, but that would be against with the ideal this game was built on.
no wonder the pvp gamemodes already failed… for me it failed on the 1st year when i noticed how crappy ANet would be maintaining the game… sadly it actually happened…
I would not say tat wvw is what nake of if theres alot limitations within this game, that actually forces certain behaviors.

I can image MI with a Holy Veil and Purifying Veil mechanic behind it, but that would limit the skill usage just to teleport to that player :\, still while that player is tagged with MI he could receive condis with 10% less duration and imput heal would be increased arround 10%, removing the MI veil would make player teleport to ally.
Veils could sacrifice the regeneration of the virtue, so basicly mantaining 3 veils a guardian wouldnt regenare the blue fire thing.

Some people are still blindfolded…. about how stupid and simple gw2 is…. pvp is far from balanced…. far from it, and in WvW some builds are way much stronger than its counterparts due more stats avaliable.
Still… gw2 pvp is a joke since classes are deisgned for pve and how devs thinks class should feel to play on pve only….
Simply make it so the shield bubble stops any siege shot regardless of who fired it.
If this counts as friendly fire and can’t be implemented, then an alternative is to give the bubble a limited number of HP so it can only protect against a set amount of damage, and shatters if overloaded.
what are you saying, something like the shield have a shield hp pool, after that needs more supply or gets destroyed?
ALtough a on/off swith on the shield dome would be nice, but i would love that we could have 2 types of siege, stucture siege and openfield siege….

OP game is about gimmicks ANet will never change that, get a better gimmick(and learn how to use it) to get carried.
The Op is complaining about being killed while 1v3, apparently they expect to rofflstomp the 3 thieves with no issues.

Another QoL improvement for shield gens would be for them to be removed from the game or make them stationary seige on towers and keeps.
Too many times you see a map blob hiding under 4 of these things preventing any form of disable while building 6 super catas. They block every way to defend an objective short of stealth disabling from behind where you’re likely to die. Even then it doesn’t buy you much or any time at all.
Shield gens block cannon, AC, treb and ballista fire, they are too good when stacked.
You need shield gens to be able to assult heavily defended objective. Otherwise you get the old way which is treb from max range and cutoff all supply route until they finely run out 3 hrs later

Repeated attacks while draining their supply and controlling camps is how you topple keeps, which is how a siege actually works.

Elementalists and Necros with “camera improvements”(wich ANet said it was players improiving their gameplay…..) can hitt the inner side of a wall , and half way on the stairs….

Our primary motivation for avoiding running another tournament, is that at the end of every tournament we saw a permanent dip in the number of players playing WvW. Presumably this was due to players burning themselves out during the tournament.
However, we can still run a poll to see if the majority of the community wants another 4 week tournament, even if it might be bad for the long term WvW population numbers. Though even if ‘running another tournament’ won the poll, we’d probably hold off until we get the scoring updates in.

WvW is boring, winning each week means nothing. Tournaments were fun. More rewards for wvw is good.
A tourney would not do a thing, WvW would still be boring, would be a zerg fest for the stacked servers only, and that would make WvW worse after the torenoy since alot of players would get burned out of WvW…just like it happened in the past.
WvW is boring cause ANet bad decisions not lack of tournaments…

Deppends what damage output or support gimmick your class can pull, mostly HoT specs are all about that, ANet call it class progression….
If your not playing the new gimmick expect to do less, even if u are a better player, players with HoT gimmicks will have the upper hand, u will need twice the effort for the same result or very close to it.

thats true but, but it works well compared with the almost AFK staff 1 builds that only know empower and purhing flames skills… and hit like a potato while they stil take a ton of damage if get hitted… since guard has no trade off if sacrifices damage.
imo ANet killed the guard class to make DH trapper being accepted :\, everything else outside medi and meditrapper is very very underwhelming, for WvW mobitlity and Consecrations are a waste they are mor for choke points than anything elses, and static wars, wich never happens on WvW due the huge kitten of mobility ANet gave to the classes.
»Guardian was fully designed for pve and since pve is static combat… guardian skills and utilities are easy to avoid and overwhelm on pvp…
Overall the class has one problem that ANet never cared to fix, the class is damage if not in a power creep in its favour cant do nothing, if support cant do much, and other classes can do better, if go bunker its still easy to kill it…. overall the class has to many counters… and that makes guardian fall behind very fast no matter how many buff ANet gives cause the issue is how the class works and the messy/weak traits and weak utilities that besides meditation and traps… got nothing, we only have one elite…. as well, others not worth to take…

on the NA side linking didnt do anything else, its the same blob vs empty server, each server ktrain at a diferent time, populations peak happens at diferent times…
Theres a huge gap from server to server, and linking not doing much..since its pairing servers that play at same time against servers that play at diferent times :\, something like that.
Doing a tournament with the Sh**** state of the game would be a huge mistake….

I am new to WvW and DH, and I prefer group match than solo. Therefore, burst damage isnt mine priority, but long sustainability fight plus some ability to support to group is my preferable style.
I want to ask was there anyone tries a pure Dire build before – all weapons, armors and accessories are in Dire stat, plus 6x Superior Rune of Undead. If yes, what are your comments?

Problem with playing a condi guard is that the guardian (especially DH even more so) traits and gear, lack the synergy that power builds + support has. Guards in WVW are staple of any group, be it pug or organized and everythign else inbetween due to stab, cleanses, prot, aegis, reflects, empower, etc. etc.
When you go condi you lose too many of those, you can kinda go medi / consecration for some burns, but you will not be traited for full group support because you have to allocate your traits to condi. Often times while playign in group content you get stuck in the thief/ ranger / ele group, because you do not provide enough to help keep up the core players or you yourself require a 2nd, power based guard to keep you up. So its kinda bad.
Also, don’t go for pure dire. You will do much better if you make around half your gear dire, then the other half kinda mixed to various degree between Shaman’s, Carrion, Rabid. And of course the tat weights on Trailblazers, Vipers outweigh the 3 combo stat pieces and you do need some decent duration as well.
do we as guard players have sinergy on anything else besides medi trapper? :P
nerf condi goes against wath ANet has being trying to reach, what they will make is a new spec that will use the ocnditions on allies and self and transform them back to burn.
balance trough gimmick… cause they are clueless…
IMO they should nerf condis for pressure only, like condis worked in gw1 and they should bring back some hexes, maybe transform some conditions in hexes.
Still theres to much aoe/cleave spam damage going arround and damage is easy andlow effort thing in this game….

Those classes use those abilities because they’re almost completely necessary for their survival in PvP. Most guardian builds do not need a blink to survive.
It doesn’t “need” to be generalized.
This. Mediocre mobility is really the only weak point guardian has at the moment. And similar to necro, it’s done on purpose. Not being top tier at everything is a good thing not a bad.
List me the weak points of other classes.

What i was saying was that guardian excels in nearly anything it possibly could (in sPvP) with weak mobility being the compensation for their overall top tier performance.If you’re suggesting that guardian is at a disadventage right now, as it’s the only class with a clear weak point, then tell me how and why it is and was dominating the pvp meta for months with no end in sight and how there are minimum 2 of them in each team, each match.
Guardians don’t need good mobility, they’re good enough as is.
