^this, we already have way points, maps are small, lode incompatibility, unless your a dwarf ridding a doily, wvw mounts still slower than some classes.

I was looking for a mmo where players would decide the fate and behavior of the server and ive found it, playing Archage was far better and rewarding than i was expecting, the possible options i can do in that game are excellent, and are not demanding on time like the traditional mmo’s.
It is like WvW being fused into pve map, where player/guilds have the possibility to make their own empire being outlaw, pirates, or being on the good side and role play with those thiefs
that can be jailed by a player base court tribunal and pay for their crimes, also sandbox map and possible construction sites, being a guild castle or just a personal area, and all of this w/o the traditional time consuming farm.

sorry to talk about other games >_> but sometimes brainstorming requires it.
- Capping secondary resources (ie camps) linked to the major keeps prevents spawning there. Seems like a better way to handle it than the knock on door swords, but would require many more secondary objects. ESO has 3 around all keeps.
I think this is great suggestion. Lets say you can spawn into a keep as long as at least one adjacent sentry and camp is still in your control. That would both slow down these endless karma train blobs, and allow for smaller groups to serve a purpose and be able to actually make a difference.
If they want they could make it even harder and force either the SW or NW tower for example to be in enemy control for WP to start being contested. You could still launch attacks on keeps, but it would be substantially harder.
I really think that for WvW to be good, the gameplay needs to be slowed down a bit. Allow for servers to mount a response to attacks so we can have the epic PvP fights everybody wants instead of this endless cycle of funnel supply into a BL -> golem rush bay / hills -> move maps when you face resistance.
If anything more players want things to go faster, they will get thousands of excuse to not slow down combat, other usually server quit our bl at minimal confront with their karma train and wait to our dead hour.
Didn’t played much DAOC, was playing RO at that time to :/
- end WvW
- restrict servers w/o overflows
- open castles in pve zones to be captured (would be nice for Rp’er to)
- i dont know but, atm anything is better than the current WvW…

green numbers, buffed stats, proly inside some pve golem that needed that stats buffed like the one in LS.
And that is a low damage kill shot :P
The animation is obvious and the cast time is like 3 seconds. I think that by then you should have reacted.
I love reflecting the Kill shot back at them.

A: Changes on how elite skills display with range indicators, fixed wrath and healing cast, now will heal on the correct actors while moving.

The reason was to bring back and re-display the previous ANet statements on the subject. Probably the exact reason that brought on the announcement that this would be infracted behavior, now.
Indeed, and the only thing it accomplishes is that they will tell us even less, because they know people will take every single thing ever said as a solid promise that can never be changed.

All together it sounds a bit like a variant of:

Only that we would have to go with:
“I am scissors, but I do not know how to beat paper, nerf paper.”
Pretty much that, people were blinded with the “play how you want” moto for gw2 and gw2 isn’t about that if one wants to be efective.
(play has you want between these two; be effective or be carried by your team)
How long is it now, a month and a half since the CDI was supposed to be released?
problem with ranger is that ranger is fine and just a few know how to play it, this game isnt about play as you want, player need to copy pasta the most efective build.

Popping in to say YES PLEASE TO FIRST PERSON PERSPECTIVE. I heard from a friend that this was briefly available during Beta or something like that and I am really disappointed that it still does not exist in game.
+10 points to all of OP’s other suggestions.
Yes please to player housing. I am still waiting to be able to craft/discover/find/dungeon/gather materials for my house and then host guild/stranger tea parties.
If and when housing is implemented, I am hoping that interact-able chairs, sofas, beds, etc are added as well since… I feel that makes sense. It’s hard to have a tea party when everyone is half-morphed with the furniture.
Im not much into RP, but miss the houses like lineage had they could also bring GVG’s back, and i don’t imagine that being adopted by Anet, due their megaserver overflow pride (hopefully something nice comes out of it), besides the home instance we might not receive anything more than nodes and other random stuff to add to that instance.
If u guys don’t mind what kind of activities the RP’s do in this game?

Imo guardian healing isnt that good except for the elite tome and the aoe heal metitation with teleport, and proly healing breeze.
I always saw guardian acting more like a protection monk while healing is suposed to be within water eles and other classes waterfields since even engi can get is own waterfield blast.

indeed, also sanctuary is moslty useless in the actual combat style and has a huge cooldown even when traited.
I guess they dont fix it becouse we can get more “domes” or blue bubbles via the shield spirit weapon that in most of the cases die in 1 or 2 hit before get activated.
just one side note: the guardian blue domes dont protect much except eles and rangers auto attack, sanctuary can protect against engi bombs (not nades), reason why only WoR is mostly used, since is the one with lesser cooldown and has reflects range damage. the others can hardly fit on the battlefield.

This conversation is weird. All my PvE friends tell me to use only zerker in PvE and I’ve rarely felt the need to waste food or wrench on it. My other armor sets are for various WvW roles.
Exactly, everybody I know run only zerker in PvE and they dont care about food.
They dont care about finishers because they have nobody to stomp.
They dont buy unlimited gathering tools because they already have 1 set and dont need to change profesions every 2-3 hours because thir team lacks support/damage.
PvE players dont need to buy upgrades and siege.All PvE players are buying are skins. While those can be expensive, in PvE you can get 100g in few hours if you are good, in days if you are bad. In WvW you can get 10g in days if you do EOTM karma train, and never step into borderland. Or in borderland if you dont care about wvw and just do karma farm.
I used to buy allot of gems in the past (since i ended my p2p game subscription due gw2 game release,) and i only do wvw, i bough skins have a few tormented weapons, and buy tons of expensive food because i hate the crafting system on this game i ended buying a few golems and guild siege also, i doubt im the only one and i believe wvw players spend more time on the TP gemstore than casual players.
Or remove home server and wvw and eotm, that would fix. j/k.
After getting Taimi out of the machine, I decided to throw my quaggan into it. When he came out, he claimed to have seen the Truth and can now do magic with only his flipper hands. His powers scare me.
No matter what still a shorty quaggan…
Game has instances and overflows, i dont see how this could work.
Lineage had a funny guild housing system but if i recall was a megaservers w/o overflows of it.
Guardians truly are in a good spot.
But it’s incredibly stale. There are a lot of quality of life changes that could be made to make it more ’’yay’’ to play a Guardian.
ArenaNet haven’t touched Guardian for a long time, and the latest Grandmaster traits we got are really, really, really lackluster. No one used them, and no one would consider using them for serious gameplay, only for kitten and giggles.
the spirit weapons line and the blue bubbles/domes whatever, acould be improved also.
Easy job, make a Recruitment Board on main cities where guilds can post a recruitment appliances, players when selecting the board would see the guilds that are recruiting for their home server.
Edit: a game with megaserver while having players from different servers :| doesn’t sound right…
And megaserver hits also wvw becouse players now are shared to the different overflows wich borks and doesnt make any sense, wasn’t Gw2 community based?

1) WvW xp boosters – There needs to be an incentive for them. The ranks and abilities are nice but after you get so far there is nothing left to spend them on. To remedy this, and make those kinds of boosters more appealing, there needs a new WvW trait lines that don’t end but get progressively more expensive with rank points.. Things like a Gold Find %, MF %, etc. Also, it would help if there was a way to showcase your WvW rank to add more appeal.
2) Unique Commander Tags – By this I dont mean simply different colors, different color tags need to be in the game by default. Having different kinds of purchasable icons though, could be appealing. Ones like a dagger icon, Charr face icon, Quaggan face icon, guild emblem icon, basic symbols, cross bones, and so on.
3) Infinite Use Siege Reskin Potion – Simply different endless potions that give you a special buff for a few mins, that any siege site you throw down has a unique look to it corresponding to the potion. This doesn’t change the stats of the siege and it would still say if it’s reg or superior, it just looks different and might fire a different looking projectiles. The looks of the siege last until it despawns or is destroyed.
Something like this in terms of different looks.

IMO the lack of new elements/mechanics in game, also limit the expansion of the TP.
Looks the game was developed to be a basic game at beginning and after release stuff would come to improve the game over time.

Except that Guardians are more like Mogwai – they have been cute from birth and everyone wants one in their family, but Anet are afraid to feed them any milk and cookies since beta incase they turn into Gremlins and eat everyone.
Pretty much that, reason only shouts and meditation build works mostly even the defensive blue domes and WoR are easy countered and spirit weapon are a joke as “cannon fodder” skills.

GW2 isnt agame for mount system, small maps plus waypoints lost of speed boons access.
if maps were triple size and just 2 or 3 waypoints that would be totally different, but map size is limited to game design.
Also as much i dont like LS, it is a good way to explore new mechanics for later improvements.

, i have a feeling that gvg’s on gw2 its only guild colliding with another, the one that spams most water fields wins.

Humm a new game? called gw2.something or gw3…
Expansion for content in my opinion is wrong, LS exists for that role, an expansion would be more effective for new game engine mechanics like, WvW redesign(this one should be taken seriously), improve siege mechanics, event chains in PVE map and see watch could be done to improve players experience etc.
Mounts, lol… Player housing, even more lol… Marriage system?! Downright laughable.
Its real simple. There are two types of peoples we want to bring back to the game: Roleplayers and WvWers.

Those are the things this engine almost ignore, we have a wvw model that almost doesn’t work, full of “unfixed glitches”, map design is what we know, full stacked server to cap a tower etc, and looks like the number of max players is far from reach the 500 per server.
About rolleplay i dont even understand why people choosed gw2 for roleplaying when theres mmo’s with politicals options and full control of the map.
whenever I see a guard going shelter I just don’t use any of my 2-5 keys and then his block function becomes pointless. With shelter you only really mitigate large bursts against bad players who repeatedly attack you despite the obvious animation, not realising they are probably buffing the guard or damaging themselves in some way by doing it….

don’t ever take cleric gear in to dungeons/fractals unless you like being carried through content
Same goes for clerics on WvW. 
There are only 2 servers that are super organized at the moment.
These servers have a whole chain of command with staff members in charge of various aspects concerning the server. Staff in charge of the server website. Staff for the teamspeak. Staff for recruitment. Both have regular meetings where they discuss and decide their server’s plan of action for the following week (i.e. deciding whether to push ppt or slack), discuss tactics, as well as brainstorming solutions for various problems.
I’m pretty sure both these servers have spreadsheets filled with guild raid times, guild raid numbers, teamspeak numbers, pugmander coverage, queue times etc. This allows them to evaluate their current situation and see if anything needs to be done to maintain their communities.
A super organized server will also have almost all guilds on the same page and working together to achieve their server’s goals. They aim to have as little rogue guilds as possible that do nothing for the server.
Should come as no surprise that both these servers are in Tier 1. Organization is a huge part of success.
Anyone know the names of these 2 servers?
That level or organization looks like your talking about nsp? at least was like that when i played the game, they even have/had a radio where they used to pass news from wvw, servers events, contests, etc.

This will no doubt be my new Zergball armour on my guard… all of those stats keeps me alive so I can pump boons and bag farm forever.

For support roles might looks neat, since has no power i dont imagine myself using this stats
for guardian, but wonder if this is ok to mixture with zerkers(wich i doubt becouse Healing power on guardian need to be hight to be worth it, and class looses alot if invest that much in healing power).
Everything was running smoothly until i had to face a Jumping puzle , well back to WVW.
I liked the fall from the Aether blades ship, looks interesting story arc to follow.
And the artwork, once again 5stars >_>.
The tab for follow character story was a nice change.
