Thiefs are made to solo players, if they didnt had mechanics to win, that woould be broken.
WvW is group wide gameplay, some classes excell on solo other in group play.
Blockhead Magee is right, many of us don’t pop our ArenaNet tags when playing. When we do play with it on, it tends to act as a beacon that draws the enemy in like moths to a light bulb.
We are out there, even if you don’t know it.
It’s true, I’ve hunted down and stomped the couple that I’ve seen, if only to be able to say that I’ve staked a couple.

Im used to korean mmo’s so wing are accepted we just need more skins, also more backpack skins like capes.

Got nothing against against stealth stomp, but being unable to KB(quite often) target making the stomp animation w/o stability or me being blinded, i would appreciate some fix…
also having problems with guardian down skill sometimes do not KB target

I always wanted to see the miracle when 10 man zerg can successfully defend the only tower they just flipped on the whole map against two 50 man zergs who are just too lazy to fight each other.
Im pretty sure its impossible to have two 50 man zergs on one team. The most ive legitimately seen is about 70, which to most people looks like 100.
“10 man zerg” , im off the game for some time u cant imagine how that sounded beautiful, made me miss wvw even more

But you get pretty much $ by doing WvW atleast I do compared from when I do regular PvE. So you should be able to buy crafting mats.
All the money i grab is to buy food :] and need to save it for superior siege (actually saving).
LS compares more to a DLC than anything else.

Unlimited rally? last time that happened i just rally’ed 5 times after that went directly to defeated state.
Counter argument: Remove hard-revives from WvW.
Being downed is a central mechanic to Guild Wars 2 due to the lack of resurrection abilities and dedicated healers. To remove this is to remove a core function of the game. However (and this has been argued for a very long time here on the forums), the revival from defeated state would discourage zerging and promote more tactical play.
If players were not allowed to revive their dead teammates, a zerg would be forced to take less risks and not plow headlong into another zerg or arrow cart storm. They could no longer stop to instantly revive their defeated team mates and continue plowing along. Casualties would be a real thing, giving smaller, more coordinated groups, an advantage over sheer numbers.
Well to be honest in most cases any defeated players will be able to get back into the fight by WPing almost as fast as they are revived after the fight. The maps are just too small to allow any profound strategy regarding troop movement. This is something that TESO does a lot better. Map is bigger and disrupting reinforcements is a viable tactic – at least until everyone and their mother will be carrying x+1 tents.
That is one of the majof problems in gw2 at least in WvW map is very small for that game type.

My major reason for playing an MMO RPG is to be able to get together with my friends, Role Play, and enjoy the game. I usually IC my leveling when i have company. It gives more spice to the whole idea, especially if you have many high level characters.

RPG was dropped long ago when mmo’s decided to have overflows and static theme park.
Sandbox mmo’s are still young and hard accepted since players nowadays only care about graphics….

Player’s models collision could fix all of the brainless “stack” meta in PvE and WvW and add strategy and tactic into this game. I would guess, however, that GW2 engine couldn’t handle it.
Server side cant handle the math load, proly they are researching in this.

zerker is fine, but imo there should be the exremes is all roles, guardian already looses alot if full spec for healing anyways.
There shouldn’t be such extremes in any roles. It just makes balance impossible because you’re not looking at 8 classes, but 50+ once you include all the super-specializations.
More roles, more specializations IMO would be nice, but each one to his own, at least would make better sense since most runes are useless

Faced the blob servers once all i can say is they can win at will, good for them they are stacked on other server, they are all nothing special if dont stack in one megablob to take a group thats less than 1/3 of them….
IMO there are far more important things than win a skin , as the sense of cuminity that is being kinda destroyed with this megablob pve merge and its the true enemy at the momment.

I’ve played MMOs for 12 years. This is the first game where “Zerging” is not considered an insult. Not only “not” an insult, but now enforced by megamerger.
Try harder. M in MMO as an excuse is pretty worn out.
^ gw2 inspires zergling , u dont need to know what to do besides press 1 and follow a blue tag.
LS2 will be even more mega blob dps reason why they need the megaserver before ls2.
They just need to tune those bosses spawn into a chain of events that might happen.

Some new themes would not be a bad idea at all, lets say 1 week your border is a desert with oasis and camels on it, the other is a snowy area with leopards and polarbears and such.
The random factor do not pleases me, server cumunity could vote to select the map, but i doubt every server are that organized :/
Guardians already have some fire fields but on concecrations, anything that is non light field is accepted, especially on weapons.
Condition are not a new meta ….
i have to disagree here , maybe its not meta but the influc of condition roamers is huge compared to pre patch..
today i roamed with my gs /hammer power war about 3hours and the most common encounters were:

cond nekros ( i guess they got lost from the zerg..)the first two cond engi/thief are by far the most , and i would say that especialy the thiefs are increasing in numbers who play condi interupt confusion kitten …
i dont care i got my melandru runes + -40% cond buffod +berseker stance + cond removing trait with f1 <3 , but i see often in map chat the flame about “another cond eng/thief at xxx”ps: i play gold league , dont know how its on low tier servers
Same thing on lower tiers at least for my exp, i called it meta becouse i always found condi spam groups since the beggining of the game, but now they are more than annoying and much more" degenerative".
Anet already noticed players are not happy with this move, let them tune it with the right validations, give some time.
Imo there are no possible validations/option for megaserver goes well, besides disable it.

Condition are OP but is not a new meta,and WvW its for teamplay, players should try to get more organized since conditions tend to lack power in group fights.

PS: I am deeply concerned no moderator has yet to appear here to intervene. That no developer has peaked in to aknowledge some of the concerns brought up here.
The thread was doing remarkedly well for a long time, which is why it had little interaction from the Moderation Team. There has been plenty of debating, only a tiny bit of off-topic, which quickly got back on track.

@OP well,if u have a group in RL that are used to play together this is a good game, game is balanced towards groups of 5 player teams, spvp and tpvp arent bad, WvW could be more better designed but does it job, u can join the big army or make a havok squad and try to cap camps behind th enemy cutting their suply.
If you were a pve gammer only i would not recommend this game, or recommend to avoid it.

I would say u need to look over your TS in your map chat, but megaserver merge broke that to, u would look a mad man asking player from other servers…
Most guild/servers use their own TS, go to wvw and search for a guild with TS.
Note:
Community on gw2 stands “server players” and i dont believe they will accept players from other server.

Q: is it possible to Anet handle or show the numbers of overflows created per each map? :P
I’d also love to know if they’re making the new central hub server bound or will it be a megaserver instance when they move us out of vigil keep.
Fingers crossed for server bound for WvW planning and asking for help/numbers to defend keeps etc.

If ANet wants to create a massive exodus from WvW, then this would be a fantastic way to go about it.

This is unfair. Organized guilds going into edge of the mists to farm people trying to level and get thier achievements. Anet needs to cap the amount of people from the same guild per overflow. We already can’t get these stupid achievements in regular wvw because of queue, now we are getting farmed by these organized groups. Not going to say who, but the dinosaurs are jerks.
Endure yourself and rise your sword or just get stick to Queendale “new player” hardcoreness.
Just popping in to say, while I understand most of your concerns, I prefer the megaserver system.
Honestly, I think that a guild flag to keep guilds together would solve all the problems I’m hearing here (RP, Guildmissions, etc.). Also, guild mission collaboration may work better as well (multiple guilds getting credit for guild missions they are all taking part in).
Besides that though, it’s much better for newer players, imo. I love it, and I’m a veteran of GW1 and GW2.

On favor, its easy to deploy LS story, since now theres more players, it is easy to create the “mindless gameplay” LS2 will be the same zergling fest, players will not be throwed to a overflow becouse they are already on the overflow with randoms.
Imo this is a very depreciative technique in game quality and time spent on trying it to work becouse contradicts several game mechanics as WvW it self, wich now its justa faction/alliance u choose to defend on the mist or something.

Thanks pixiedancer, unfortunately that’s kind of what I expected. I heard someone say that only Divinity’s Reach in NA is testing the new algorithm to try to give the home server more priority.
I still see every other city a chaotic mess of trolling / skill spamming that I very rarely saw on TC before. DR seems to be the exception right now as I don’t see any difference.
So I’m hoping ArenaNet has found the sweet spot with the weighting/prioritizing of home servers with DR (NA) and after some verification and more testing implement it for the rest.
Its not a matter of importance but end it, as it seems not be a good solution, i dont want to call players when starting a golem rush and other servers know it!, i guess no wvw player would like this to happen, im pondering to create my own guild someday and i dont want to be recruiting in pve map and ask everytime wich server is the player from even if i anounce Guild X from server Y is recruiting it would not work.
*There are several aspects of the game that contradicts the use of this mechanic, and change to game arround the megaserver to make it work is even worse. *

I’ve noticed this game engine might be a fork of gw1 one, and seems it is way to limited for further mechanics developments, the teste/ changes Anet is making at my view point is trying to “obscure” that, they cant do much with this engine or lack the resource for it, this why we are experiencing the waste of time coding stuff that will not work at the end.
Viable but impossible solution would be end of overflow, end servers or reduce them to half, end WvW and create a wars in tyria new continent (aka sandbox siege game).
Make GvG tournaments etc.

… I think Anet is working towards a healing/protection support build to be valid in WvW/PvP. PvE dungeons need a revamp before we can have that conversation.
I see exactly this happening as well. I guess the next balance patch will reduce damage everywhere or increase defenses like toughness. Maybe implement a defense stat against condi damage than simply just curing.
But it has be made sure that it is not ending in 5 bunker against 5 bunker stalemate.
Lol a guardian fight vs guardian is a endelss battle if both know well the class, about bunkers i imagine the same result unless condi bunkers, wins who can spam more.

If the 10% has the right value and affect battle presence this migh be a good regen battery.
I would not risk signet of mercy and wait for guardian CDI to rework guardian signets, becouse its a great sacarifice and skill its rare to work…
