^well pve needs more events and chain events to unlock the bosses…
This is how see it:
In WvW, zerg its a product due map size and game “lack” of mechanics.
Maps are just AB shrines with walls, just a rush game, take tower while empty move to next where castle/tower/keep design is not competent imo, the zerg its a easy solution to take it almost with zero effort.
Siege is the “mechanic” Anet wanted to fight the zerg but forgot that towers can be taked with just easy naked pvd under 2.30minutes, almost the time that an entire group can cross the map, wich leaves to the lack of “want to deffend/need to deffend”, and the redundancy starts over and over after each RI ends.
I am not against large groups, but on gw2 they look far more
clueless just spamming 1 key and roolling to avoid auto atack mostly.
It doesnt serve the majority of WvW players, so no.

Im on a small server and i feel like the wvw is far from being WvW, its just like a kidish playground to avoid pve(mobs and trolls).
Rangers just need longbow range increased by alot when traited…. ^^,
Immersion is one of the most important elements in games for me. Especially in MMOs or open world Games like GTA or Skyrim.
On the other hand a lot of immersion in GW2 gets killed by the fragmented world (zones and portals to an adjacent zone).

I continue with this opinion, GW2 with sandbox elements and no overflows would kill any future mmo, even being with intanced zones.
I tough Anet divided monk trough guardian and water elementalist, as prot and healing.

Seamless/instanced zones everyone can see each other, and start adding more maps with ls and more world bosses(with random timespawn due events).
Imo, guardians needed to be buffed on (passive)self heal and AH, and retaliation damage, now that we superior arrow carts and WvW “roles” for more damage etc, they should bring a litle bit back what they nerfed long time ago.

The traitVengfull that has the rataliation duration, could increase more X% on retal damage.
This will couse guild have players from several servers, wich im against in first place.

Monsters should hit weaker and more often, that’s one simple and useful adjustment. You won’t be able to dodge it all – tough/vit/healing suddenly become needed in the team.

Mobs should hit hard as players do in WvW :|

I would like to see a video of anet employee playing with guardian on WvW and explaining this new updates and possible roles/builds, if anyone has a guardian…
This is why i dont pve, it kittens me the mechanics of this game its a dps fest.
@op just search for healway and similiar build thats the max u can be a healer, if u want to heal better check some other class with waterfield and blasts.
Sidenote: Guardian in gw2 works more like a protection monk than a healer one.

Zerker still has the best DPS. I don’t think the viability of it changed much after the patch — Your damage gets reduced, so does your enemy’s. However, conditions did not change, so look out for condition classes. They were quite troublesome even before the patch.
nope, tryed a 29-33k hp guardian other day removing 2 conditions each 10 seconds plus shouts removing conditions etc etc, some classes can still defeat in 3-4 seconds i dont even have time to telegraph, yes conditions on small scale are far more than OP.

Yer I understand that, but there’s more runes in favour of conditions now, witch has overall boosted the meta condition builds as he previously mentioned a condition build can still burst you in 3-4secs, witch is better then zerker now, and they stack more toughness/vitality, so we cant hit them nearly as hard as they can us, running full defense builds as he mentioned we also get kitten d, because again we can’t damage and they can, so my only thoughts against this was keep all the condition removal I currently have (witch is the maximum and it still isn’t enough) and go full zerker gear in hopes of bursting them down before they get me down, don’t seem like it’s going to happen tho
I could notice a drop in direct damage from alot of classes still, isnt that great how most of the players say it is, condition by the other hand had an uprrising in WvW, tho reason why i think guardians should not try to run zerker most of the time and have other stuff to mix, unless they are on groups and know what to do.
By far im discouraging players.

Chill people want to instagib everything and hight rewards, zerker is fine still possible to high crit damage on wvw on some classes.

Well guardians and warriors were a bit OP.
Engineers and Mesmers have real trouble with condition removal.Overall, it is just days into the new patch. Things change and get tweaked after any patch of this size. I’d wait it out frankly.
As for Spvp, I think some people got obsessed with getting the tracts done quickly and starting being snotty in chat when losing. But overall, I have found that you get to play with more people and it actually is friendlier. . . mostly. There will always be testosterone filled teenagers on any game and grumpy people everywhere.
Guardians OP, i stop reading there, stress him a bit with condition make him use his shout for cleans after they kill anytime u get bored to play with him… if he goes on full damage on u roll and aplly all condition on him and he dies on 5 seconds max…
Thats what happend when i play with guardian and thats how i kill guardians when roamming with other classes.
No GvG, no best guilds….
GW2 wvw is far form being a game wich requires skill.

Um, Guardian? Also known as a “Tank/DPS/Healer”, “The Holy Trinity in One” ?
I mean, just invest in healing and boon durations. With perma protection, endless regen it should’ve been most tough profession? It’s also boring to play, but well.As for Necromancer – It has big health pool, but not the best armor nor regenetation. But full tank MM Necro could be the most effective AFK tank besides Warrior.
Rym guardian are by far the sturdiest classes in game, i manage to kill most in a few seconds no matter how styrdy they are, boon duration got reduced, and healing power guardians are the most easy build to kill…
Note: this on small scale, on larger grups anything work even naked ^^.

Its really hard to have a best player in this game, on gw1 we could have GvG to define and see who was the best of the best, here since builds are copy paste of each other and blob game play there isnt the best player, well pvp isnt that balanced itself so still hard to know and that would be the same to say who is the best player in TA or RA wich is a litle bit nosense.
Other thing is some one on T1 might change is build to similiar T5 player and vice versa both have the same style of playing, both are effective.
IMO no there are no best players in this game.
you get them on completion of arah temples and kaka queen.
Or buy them on the guy who reset the trait tree of your class.
A simple “to do list” would be fine….at least we could have an idea if they want to make anything in the future as they could test player base opinion.
A healing guardian’s healing is pretty good in my eyes (plus Healing Breeze just got a great buff; Rune of the Monk is also perfect for healing guardians), and Tome of Courage essentially makes the player a healing monk for 20-30 seconds.
They could probably be better, but I think it’s at least viable (in pvp, idk about the other modes). I have to say though, I wish guardians got their own Aquatic Benevolence trait. ._.
Eles+blasts do better that role, one thing i avoid in my groups are healing specced Guardians.
In pve guardians are great, high damage, high support and high sustain.
In Pve anything works.. so its irrelevant.

No, spirit weapons die in one 2 shots, being it the shield or the others.
Also shield protects agains range auto atack mostly, even against a rangers isnt efective pet will get the shield killed in 2 or 3 atacks.

Note, if players say Rangers are useless, i cant quallify spirit weapon on guardian lol.
I guess they are balanced on pair with quagan tonics on WvW.

Why have conditions recently popped up for hot debate?
Is it because everyone who is QQing for a nerf is running some faceroll DPS i-have-no-condi-removal type build? Shifts in build metas is the only reason I can think of for why you’re all QQing.
I seriously hope they leave conditions as they are. Might teach DPS fanboys that you can’t have the best of everything after all. And actually, I do have a vested interest in keeping conditions as they are. Speaking as a Ranger, the last thing I want to see is our only viable WvW roaming/pvp build (condi bunker regen) nerfed because of your QQing.
If they nerf condi too they might as well just delete the Ranger profession.
Maybe will make people get more organized to cleanse condis, instead the of the zerg n’blob 11111111 key spam, but a little buff on condis cleanse would be nice to.
This system is similar to the system in GW1. I would think the GW1 fans would appreciate it, I guess not.
Dont forget on Gw1 u had a dual class system with loads of skills u could unlock in pvp and buy on pve.
On gw2 every player as the same bar depending on weapon, as traits+armor are your stat system, its a completely diferent model, if we had several skills to choose from the weapon would be more fun tho.
Mind if I ask what your set up was? I was going to try this has well but I’m thinking we may be using similar set-ups. I was using carrion with Balthazar / flame legion runes and got around 1400 condition damage.

Exact same setup. With power build the damage difference almost vanishes. All this 30 point grand master trait does is lower your retaliation damage unless you are deeply invested into condi damage, and then it brings it back to normal. They should rename it ‘Nerf Yourself’.
Anet time to revise retaliation value!
Because Condi spam requires infinitely more skill ofc.
Yes GW2 players defined 1shot everyone is being pro and skillfull also, if there a fight that envolves effort is bad lol…

Hello build diversity.
yeah, there is a ton of build diversity and profession depth after this patch…
I imagine that being runes problem, most of them dont make sense or fit with other traits or situations.
About damage i kinda liked the update, players now have to be more “dedicated and carefull” and not that 25k hp down in 2 or 3 seconds.
Noticed after patch theres still some very good burst builds for warriors and eles, thives i imagine some sorta hybrid builds between power and condi.

In PvE damage is still king, nothing was changed there.
Zerker is still the king of DPS gear.Now, I’d really like to know how people figure that Zerker or Damage builds all of a sudden became obsolete.
They need a second or two more to kill mobs. Thats a second or two more where those mobs can plaster their brains on the floor. Longer encounters mean more survivability needed. Active or passive, but more is needed. That is the only reason i can think of…
Exactly my thoughts.
Players played some classes due easy high damage, ele could reach 5k-8k meteors wich was weird due low hp of other classes(also overkill on wall defenders), Crit damage was not working very well and Anet had to find a solution for that, some classes also could take 30k hp in a matter of seconds w/o effort, a thing that Anet don’t like much (learned that via gw1 updates) its the lack of effort, if a player want to be that effective, must work for that objective.
Pitty that most players took that crit damage as “granted skill” as now they need more effort to kill, witch IMO its not a very clever rant.
How many of you were gw1 players?
How many know there’s a target system also in gw2

This patch has been really awesome for the most part, but the trait change is definitely an exception. This change has greatly lowered the effectiveness and the variety of lower level characters and put an even bigger gap between low levels and ‘true’ level 80’s.
My level 50 Necro went from being able to level pretty easily to being greatly handicapped and has turned the leveling process into a real struggle. I honestly hope Anet sees the error in this and changes this part of the update.
Everything else was so great and done so well, and this part was just so wrong. Honestly, there was nothing wrong with the trait system the way it was. I really hope this changes soon.
Would make sense to rework on map events and quests EXP if its that hard now, on the other side Tyria is full of events btw and WvW gives a very good amount of exp.

Staff is a tactical weapon, i could say line of warding don’t work because hostile use stability, guardian staff is a very good weapon for those who play in team and know what to do and when, its a group play weapon.
Also empower with AH is really good self heal lol.
Regarding boon duration:
With 2x Monk, 2x Water, 2x Traveler rune, and with 20% boon duration from food it WAS possible to reach 95% boon duration.
During one of the ready up streams a few months ago, the developers were chatting about how they had recognised, some players used a mixture of rune sets to gain a specific effect.
This boon duration combination was mentioned and on the stream the devs agreed that they liked how players had achieved this build and didn’t want to drastically change it.
My question is, will we be getting a rune set that compensates for this loss? As I see it the max possible boon duration you can reach is only 65% now.
Is this a valid and balanced nerf? Or are there plans to introduce new runes to allow us to maintain 95% boon duration.

They want you to use Dublons 4% boon duration.
They should make a boon duration rune.
(similiar to gw1 20/20 weapons or something)
1 insert stat+ 18 .
2 insert stat + 18 .
3 20% chance concecrations reload 20% faster.
4 Boon Duration 10% .
5 Boon duration 25% .
6 chance of (10%)15% aplyed boon on ally last 20%+
This is just wrong for wvwvw, now everyone will just go condi bunker roamer, before you could choose to roam as zerker or condibunker, now its just better going condibunker, pve changes killing wvwvw aspects as always

Am i the only guardian who actually liked the new updates??
-Ive seen burst builds working, by almost intagib me(even with protection and roll to evade some of the hits).
-Ive noticed players now need to call targets more often(like the old gw1, wich makes sense to use the interrupts from mesmer) instead the presss button to win scheme.
-Players need to get more organized.
-I have problem with condition on 1vs1 but on team thing goes more balanced.

If you are in a group with very good sinergy between comunications, builds, classes ,etc condition are nothing to have fear, imo i would say combat in gw2 got buffed overall, player now need to call target and spike aka gw1 more often more brains less randomness crap
@OP yes some classes on 1vs1 outshine others, while others outshine in XvsX.
