We should force a few dev’s playing guardian on WvW on roaming, small scale and large scale.
This isn’t as much of an example of DH working together as it is an example of NSP and SF giving up.
Funny how DH quits nsp bl when NSP get half size group..

I imagine that a good solution for that would be to add interiors to castles and a new WvW design with rewards for holding the keeps for X days, rangers and thiefs would have a good use for traps in the interiors, and would be more fun to defend IMO, gw2 compared with old mmo’s in terms of siege wars was a complete desapoint to me, becouse old mmos still do it better, and more strategy was required.

I don’t think that is true. Done correctly, it will be a roamer heaven, and allow the regular WvW maps to continue to be zerg focused.
Unless scarlet wants to compensate WvW players, and terraform WvW entirely to a better map.

Using the Living Story to explain why we suddenly have a new map (which seems to be the case) is actually a rather good thing.
Pretty much, that is a good use for the living story to add something that will stay in the game, and opens paths to many game changes/mechanics.

Is that 10% really the difference in your small-scale fights out in WvW in your full zerker set?
Some players will have to learn to play instead push button to win.
Every LS patch was only about pve, and even at WvW we oftem see LS stuff, so this time Anet changed a bit, why not the otherway?
I think it is good, pve players will have a chance to see how WvW/PvP players can get organized in large scale fight and how coordenation is important and it is fun.
@LoopySnoopy.7923 theres no problem to arrive the batlefield clueless, you will find alot of players hunting unexperienced wvw players but also you will have dedicated players on your side and for shure they will help you.
IMO this is a ice breaker between servers, since we have to team up, just hope this is not adapted to the main WvW map.

So dont call that patch a balance preview because these changes are so minor, I really wonder what you have done the last couple months.
It is something at least, some classes with the right gear become quite imbalanced and OP(1vsX), effort to kill is like press buton to win while the effort to survive while fighthing those builds raises alot (obviously..).
Anet also needs to check some condi builds spam besides thief where the conditions spam is so great it is almost impossible to react or try to cleanse, since it will be harder to max crit damage and to counter this builds also do being more tanky than any guardian build.
For the updates/changes im reading and the builds i know of there are some builds that will be even more deadly despite they can fight already vs several targets(players) in WvW.
1st Q: Is Anet conscious of the damage that their classes changes are making to WvW?
2nd Q:After seing the EOTM, will be any changes,machanics improvements to the main WvW map?
3rd Q:Guardian,will ghost weapons be reworked or removed to something more worthy?
In pve they dont have any role and in WvW theres no situation this weapons can be used, even shields are destroyed before activated.
Capes were always part of the human culture so if you say Charr doesn’t wear them because of their heritage or whatever , you also have to explain why the other races don’t wear them….
Funny thing is I have walked down many streets in many countries and have yet to see capes on anyone but a guy dressed up in a flag returning bottles he collected.
Thats one of the things that killed the game for me, some stuff on this game is way to much random, and yes capes are a must or even something similiar easy to code.
Q: notice the scrool offhand, that if players jump the paper becomes elastic and stretch alot, is this one of the reasons why capes are hard to code here?
Defense is already ridiculously easy in this game. A group of 5 defenders who know what they are doing can easily hold off a group of 25 for a long time.
It is easy to defend if they try to pvd, 5 man group cant defend vs a 25 man group when decent tactics are involved, and its s short fight.
Set Pvd to 1-5 damage.
Play an engi or a warrior

Issues like the AE cap need to be designed around. If the game can’t handle AEs hitting more than 5 targets, then it wasn’t designed properly. GW2 is flawed to it’s core because of this.

They are testing stuff with less hype.
WvWers have months, or over a years worth of experience in this. PvE players do not you gotta be patient. It takes a long time to build up that mentality of trusting who’s leading. Look at teq, he’s beaten fairly often now. BECAUSE people slowly and surely decided to listen. Best advice would keep up the repetition and try to get ppl on ts3/vent/rc/mumble. Whatever your servers VoIP service is.
Players who don’t do WvW, dungeons, or fractals generally don’t know about might stacking — or combo fields for that matter.
^ Pretty much this, a way to do it is announce before the event prepare/organize the lanes, see if all lanes have arround the same numbers and explain what boss is expected in lanes 1, 2,3…etc and how to proceed, if you do everythign right well u cant be blamed.
But imo i would listen a wvw commander and ignore a pve one(like those queensdale commanders).
The 5 person AoE cap limit needs to be fixed or WvW will always be flawed.

Arrow Carts are terrible. Siege is unfun. Don’t want to use siege to make up for the fact that WvW is broken.
Siege can be fun as is the only way to beat those blobs, castle/map design is bad, and yes WvW is broken by many, many aspects of the game mechanics.
Example: being in a small party, building 4-5 catas behind a small hill, then rolling them to the top of the hill and start melting the wall.
I was imagining more ninja ops if we could move our siege.
And making it harder to troll as a bonus.

Vote/kick system to drop player from current siege, and ban him from take supply’s(whenever he tryed that enchies would make alot of damage), make that player being Pk’ed on pve also.
Play guardian— All we get is tool tip updates for us 95% of the time
Not until Anet understands how their own game works, unless they ignoring that to be catchy for the new players to stay and play with those press buton to win class/build.
Changed to a warrior and leveling a condi bunker engi and at the momment i say guardian was the bigget mistake i did in this game, who cares abour protection when you down 90% of the targets with one skill…

They’re placing the PvE on a secluded map. All the Living Story will be there and we won’t have to deal with unnecessary NPCs on the “real maps”. To me they actually listened to us.
Show me the information where LS stuff wont be more in WvW map?
And this LS stuff on WvW dont call any more players to the map.

What concerns me most is that there will be Aethersh…blade on the map. Why can’t we simply have a wvw without pointless AI mobs running around?
Its their atemp to make it GW2 MOBA, map design and LS being to it, smells like that, i just hope im wrong.

To partly answer Delvoire: You’ll be able to select Edge of the Mists from the dropdown menu/B menu just like any other map. You don’t need to hit queue to access it. Also, I would expect there will be a flurry of activity at first, and then people will migrate back to the borderland maps.
I imagine in the oposite low tier servers, players will move to this map geting WvW maps even more empty.
I just hope this is not another fail useless content, Anet got plenty of that already.

Actually this should be implemented already, having just the option to follow squad commander is bad IMO, i want to see where other commander are (im not one myself) but i like to be alert and do some map reading, to see other groups movements when we are not in the same teamspeak room.
Adding the option to select your cmd tag color when activited would help alot those on WvW, and i cant imagine that being hard to code…

Well, that would still mean nothing, theres already alot of commanders that are useless or they say i like to have a tag so i have it, but those easilly identifyed so it is the same, and would be better for those who know whom to follow.

DPS will always be the king in the way anet designed the game, and it won’t be changing for a very long time(until GW3). Zerker all the way.

Imo, sounds like a boon duration build it is what you are looking for, boons + shouts + CC.
If you want to heal learn to use combo fields, do not relly on guardian heals.
For the fury and vigor imo you would need to get gear to activate the criticals more often.
One other thing as advice, guardian as bunker rellies more in blinds and teleports than armor, guardian name cames from the shouts and aegis his role is far from being the most sturdy mechanics.

Takes to long to deploy target may be dead before that, also as a thief i sometime carry a supply trap.
Imo its not a l2p issue, it is more deep than that it is learn how the game really works instead of learned the class player is playing, and adapt that uber build that all play, thief can kill several targets as warrios can tank several zerkers and still regen or go away w/o any problem, everything working as intended.

At first i was playing for the PPt but game design is so bad i only care about bags atm, if a tower castle is lost dont care will have a drop on recovering it back and a chest, for some there are karma trains in WvW, thise grouops choose empty borderlands to rush champions on towers/keep, then wait for the other server to recover their stuff and repeat the process, this is how WvW is being played.

The could eliminate it by forcing people to play on the closest servers to them.
Why they allow Europe servers to be available to NA and vice versa is beyond me.
I would drop the game if that happened, also WvWis the only yhing i like in gw2 yet game mechanics quality are not that good.

They still have to learn that living story design conflits with the overflow system.
For that you need do play something like a sword+meditations.
Try to raise you stats, you have very low power, health, crit and crit damage.

As for the first feature build, there will be other factors coming into play that could very well offset the changes, including reworked runes/sigils, the ability to use sigils in new combinations (including 2 on a two-handed weapon), and the profession balance changes. Just something to keep in mind.
Your(Anet) profession skill balance scares me alot….
They are the best at making good games into the worst game, they should have a title for that also.

Fun! This is Guild WARS right? A small group fight is not a war, its a fight.
People say that zerging is mindless and boring and it can be, but I’ve been in massive zerg vs zerg fights that were lots of fun, sometimes even use tactics such as flanking to win the battle =)

Open fild tatics are mandatory, veils, portals, CC, etc the more organized more fun players get, the only thing i hate on WvW is the 4 vs ~80, or the cap n leave then retake redundancy, WvW has way to much redundancy, wich IMO is due castle design are that AB shrines now with walls, i can imagine how wars were if castle had more sections like true castle/towers…

This patch killed the buzz for me, I dont even have the will power to login again after playing some of the patch, no scratch that, sitting in overflow. Then to get into the actual map, and then sitting another 2 hours waiting for the event.
Total disappointment with game model.
It’s just another LS update that highlights the disconnect between the dev’s and what is actually happening in game. Chris whitelines focus on WvW and PvP is so deep that things like living story and PvE play are left in the complete dust. I find it hard to believe that they have any more then a single team out of the supposed 350 employees over there at anet working on PvE material. They just cannot be THAT BAD at this.
I mean people on this forum have literally spent months giving credible and tangible fixes and ideas for this game that would blow other competing MMO’s out of the water with very little work given the available resources, and yet….here we are.
That even scares me more, i dont believe that focus on WvW, all we have is a new WvW map that is an overflow map (edged of the mist, so far with info that was released) to avoid queus and bandwagons from server x to server y, imo they will fail 3 times in a row.
They cant see how bad it is, they know very well the game engine and they are limited by that(vision), they do what is easier and acceptable to their techology and dont see a way to cause some evolution on their product, people attend to the blob event releases, it is what it matters.
Yeh i can see LS season 2 already….. “The return of scarlet.”
Scarlet story arc isnt the problem, it is how Anet is throwing content away exploring or not the player reactions, how LS work with this game overflow mechanics as exemple scarlet charecter truly is a victim here ready to be discarded
