If the skills on banners that replace your weapon skills do not get greatly improved banners will continue to be a joke.
Banner Skill #1 Stab: Dopey auto attack same on all banners no secondary effect. Looks terrible was changed from an actual stab animation shortly after release to some horrible underhand sweep animation possible troll change by Arenanet highly probable.
Banner Skill #2: Short duration aoe boon corresponding to the stat bonus of the banner you use, exception Banner of Strength(slow melee attack that puts 3 stacks of vulnerability on target, horrendous whack a mole animation again highly probable Arenanet troll) and Banner of Defense(aoe knockback highly visible animation easily avoidable, is best banner 2 ability would be amazing if you didn’t lose access to your primary weapon set).
Banner Skill #3: Aoe swiftness same on all banners best banner ability hands down
Banner Skill #4: The #4 skill on all banners is called Sprint but it’s the same terrible skill as the greatsword #5 skill Rush almost impossible to land on a target strafing you. That’s ok and most ppl would not complain but you can’t even use it as a disengage because it’s half the range of greatsword #5 skill Rush.
Banner Skill #5: Plant the standard in the ground causing a blast finisher. Semi ok but kind of pointless if there is a thief nearby with a short bow they can spam blast finishers several times in a row if needed.
I get a good laugh when people complain about ninjaing warrior banners in their current form all that person is doing is gimping themselves and becoming the swiftness btitch spammer for the people around them. Hell aside from the Battle Standard they don’t even look cool. Did someone’s child make the banner graphics in ms paint and copy them into game drunk one night?
I support changing them to be carried on the back but only if the skills are greatly improved and don’t null out your current weapon set otherwise just leave them as is and devote resources to some other part of the game people care about.
Real men use battle standard in wvw. Don’t need frenzy either or sof.

I’ve seen pvt gear called full on tank gear in a couple threads now. I always thought pvt was middle of the road gear not full on tank. There are other stat allocations that make you tankier than pvt.

I think the warrior isnt as far away from being viable as some would think. The engineer for instance is much more of a kitten class.

How exactly do you let a change through doubling the stats on banners when you just said in this thread that you guys know warriors are too strong in pve and too weak in pvp?

If not, the answer to your question is no, I don’t have any physical disabilities and at the time I was playing thief and soon after switched to mesmer. Question is what kind of player are you? Do you consider yourself newb, casual or hardcore maybe? Now, I don’t need to know an answer. It’s for you, keep it in mind before you ask any more questions or make any assumptions.

Yesterday had a pleasure to play with guy running good old 100 blades + axe/shield zerker build. Guy admitted it takes bit more time to get ppl down, but in general he didn’t seem to get affected at all, dropping other players in few shots as usual (including my sorry kitten).
Do you have any physical disabilities? Or were you playing a warrior as well?
On the other hand, i saw a spvp warrior with banners, kick, and rampage equipped. He got 1st place multiple times. Lol.

If you were to ask me what would be the most pointless improvement to any warrior skill I think I would of been hard pressed to see another extremely short range hop added and especially to kick.
What was the point of doubling the stat bonus on banners and not reworking the banner skills or making it easier for the warrior to move the banner around?
This doesn’t change the way banners are currently used in the game as a fire and forget small stat boost in a fire field or aoe swiftness to the 5 ppl around. I may be wrong but warriors are not having problems in pve.
Anet could of boosted the stats by 500% and banners would still be terrible. Hell even the grandmaster regen trait for banners sucks why wasn’t that changed into a warrior specific regen buff that could pulse for more than the regen boon.

They’re both built to be utilized by condition builds and power builds. Either is viable for either type of build and are broken down to what purpose they need to serve.

They call it stab but it’s really sweep. If you happen to be a girl gamer like myself nothing would let you feel more at home than equipping a banner and doing a lil light housekeeping around Tyria. Things like the kitchen and the castle do get dirty if you don’t stay on top of things.
When I get home from my second job and after I make my man a sandwich I jump on the pooter start up Guild Wars 2 equip my banner and get to sweeping the streets of Tyria. A woman’s work is never done!
One of the better suggestions in the warrior forums OP. I don’t like that you’re trying to improve this class by actually defining the weapons it has.
I agree with all the other people as well totally gamebreaking unlike Bunker Elementalists, Guardians, Thieves and Mesmers which fit so nicely into the back and forth gameplay this title has to offer.
Making the 1 abilities actually fit the weapon would take away from the mentally handicapped state the warrior class is in and bring a semi renewed interest to the class from new players until they opened and read the trait panel and utility abilities.
All in all a valiant attempt in bringing more use to a class that was designed to do one thing and one thing only speed cof runs with hundred blades bro.
Could we rename banner skill 1 to “Sweep” instead of stab while were at it. I’m so pro at cleaning the streets of Lion’s Arch with my banners. “Keeping Lion’s Arch Clean” is my moto.
