Why do you think rifle is obsolete for wvw roaming?

Cause I don’t agree imo it’s an amazing weapon for wvw roaming combined with the greatsword. The only weak skills on it are Brutal Shot and Kill Shot. Brutal Shot because of the 1 second cast time and only 5 vulnerability stacks. Kill Shot because it’s linked to the warrior’s terrible adrenaline system and long cast time.

Unless I’m missing something the warrior at 3:05 is using an axe not a sword with his shield and greatsword.

This thread should be stickied to show the general stupidity of the average guildwars 2 player and the terrible players that often frequent the warrior forums to argue against the best interests of the class with invalid posts.

wow I thought that “I love this class please don’t touch it” post was the pinnacle of stupidity on this sub forum. Boy was I sure wrong congratulations OP and the 2 yes men take a bow.

Even though it would cause balance problems at this stage I feel tiered traits need to go. It is killing build diversity I need access to 2nd tier traits in the 1st tier spot etc to make different builds optimal. I don’t understand why there isn’t more community outcry for seeing tiered traits go the way of the dodo? Would it make some super builds sure but then you could balance from a more varied playing field.

lol I get so excited when ppl post about EP being at 5 seconds cause it makes me think it got fixed. Then I go test it and its still at 3 seconds and then I realize I’ve just been trolled.

On your mace and shield sigils don’t they share the same internal cooldown?

Usually you only see these posts when actual changes are coming. Are good changes in the works?

My number one change would be and this isn’t warrior specific, to trash completely or severely tone down the tiered trait system. I remember playing in the betas and thinking of all the different trait/build combos and thinking how awesome this game was gonna be with all the variety. Then one beta tiered traits and I almost quit the game.

For warriors I would like to see in general shorter cooldowns, stronger utility abilities, more mobility given to weapons other than greatsword, better ways to build adrenaline. Maybe pick up a dice and write warrior related weapon sets/utilities on pieces of paper throw it in a hat and whatever you pick out of the hat actually gets a useful boon could also do it with a dart board.

Warriors are all but extinct from tpvp the last person that went down this road posted some terrible hotjoin video of a double warrior team playing another horrible team and saying warriors were good when more than half of the video was them running away from engagements and the other part was them zerging one point and failing.

ohh and another thing about rifle when you get used to wvw or just pvp in general and you see classes like thieves and mesmers get low on health you can start channeling either volley or killshot and those abilities will track those classes while they’re invis and hit if still in range.

It’s all pretty straight forward. I haven’t done SPvP on my warrior since about 2 weeks after launch because warriors are terrible in that area of the game so I guess you’re talking about wvw or pve.

Rifle/GS is amazing for wvw best weapon combo I’ve found. GS is basically your escape utility with sigil of hydromancy. Rifle is your killing weapon with sigil of fire. Utilties are Frenzy/Stomp(Frenzy for GC, Stomp for Sturdy), Balanced Stance and Endure Pain.

You can run 2 different setups full glass or a lil sturdier setup.

GC is zerker gear with divinity runes. With a 10/30/0/0-10/20-30 Trait setup.
Berserker’s Power/Rending Strikes, Crack Shot and Forceful Greatsword/Heightened Focus and Mobile Strikes. Put the last ten points in either Leg Specialist or Adrenal Reserves doesn’t really matter imo. 1 second snare and a smidge longer boon duration or a lil quicker killshot with a lil more damage up to you meh. This is actually the best setup I’ve found and I absolutely hate it. I hate frenzy and I hate being so glassy but it works. So dumb lol.

Sturdy is Knight’s gear with either Runes of Speed or Runes of Earth(lol I have both).
With a 0/20/30/0/20 Trait Setup. Rending Strikes and Crack Shot/Embrace the Pain or Turtle’s Defense meh, Last Stand and Defy Pain/Signet Mastery or Heightened Focus meh. Sometimes I would forget to change gear with this trait setup and wear the gc gear still and it wasn’t that bad lol.

This was what I ran in wvw about 2 to 3 months ago so things might have changed but it was baiscally keep as much distance as possible volley as often as possible and if things hit the fan switch to GS and gtfo with whirlwind and rush in the opposite direction. Ohh and never ever ever go in for the stomp if there’s more than 2 ppl around lol.

In PvE I didn’t run rifle/gs I ran mace,warhorn/longbow with healing gear with inspiring battle standard it pretty much made dungeons a joke constant 390ish regen ticks for everyone in the party and probably could do the same with rifle/gs if you wanted to but I used longbows fire field and blast finishers to stack might on the group as well. Then for dynamic events and general farming I used magic find gear with axe,axe/longbow with all the traits that helped generate adrenaline then I just aoed everything down.

Glad to see the thief forum is carrying on the tradition of posting any warrior glass cannon video to justify any issue they might have.

What kind of warrior are you using? Lasts 5 seconds for me unless those 0s after the 4 second mark were an illusion…Stop treating the wiki as doctrine. It doesn’t update itself quickly.

I just tested in pve, wvw and spvp it only lasts 3 seconds buff icon starts out at 3 and there’s no hidden duration after buff icon leaves. I’m on NA servers does it work on EU servers? I use it all the time even though it has such a high cooldown. Wish it was 5 seconds like the tooltip says. I never use the wiki it’s usually wrong alot of times.

Schwarz is our resident warrior troll(even though he sucks at it). If I had to guess and mind you this is a guess, I’d say he’s a disgruntled thief. I think he gets his biggest jollies from pointing out things warriors have been doing since before release of the game and trying to make them seem new. Even though he fails everytime at least he tries to make this sub forum seem active.

Thiefs are so hilarious. Nerf them alreadey. So overpowered. Strealth without cooldown all the time. Too much selfheal and mucxh too much damage upkeep.

*3s revealed buff != Stealth without cooldown.
*Self-heal and damage upkeep depends on the build you have. You can trade in for either one but not both.

What class do you play that makes it feel like thieves are overpowered? If it is a class I play, I’m more than happy to teach you how to play and beat thieves on that class.

That would entail them actually having to get better. All noobs want is things to be given to them (WoW has created this generation of lazy welfare gamers). Would LOVE to see these people play a real MMO, like one where you lose xp on death and can actually DELEVEL :-P

No offense but I don’t think you have a decent understanding of the current spvp meta or the current state of the game with your response.

You do understand that when you trait and gear yourself for condition removal on a warrior it limits you to doing just that and pretty much nothing else right? You pay such a steep price for it.

Warriors are not well rounded in high lvl competitive spvp. They are playable in wvw and pve but that’s not what the majority of the playerbase or ANET is talking about.

Is Hundred Blades a Greatsword ability? Is HB short for Hundred Blades? Is this the Thief forums? Is Blade Trail a Greatsword ability?

Don’t wanna keep ppl in the dark. How to use Blade Trail in aiding your escape – Turn away from opponent use Blade Trail. Now this next part is very tricky and lots of attention needs to be used. Run away from opponent or use bull’s charge or Rush or Whirlwind Attack.

untraited Bull’s Charge – 40 second cooldown =/= being able to reset the fight if your not bad.

What was Arenanet thinking with buffing the longbow?!! Now all I ever see in pvp on my Dill Doe of a class is overpowered WARRIORS dual shotting people left and right!!!

It’s just the fact that Thiefs, Guardians and Mesmers are so obviously the favorite professions of ANET that its frustrating to other classes. Thiefs, Guardians and Mesmers are hands down the most polished, not only do they get stealth and huge amounts of boons they have better access to invulnerabilities. Not only can they stealth and reset a fight if they make mistakes or have better synergy with high toughness and boons like protection, retaliation and regeneration they also have shorter cooldowns or none at all on better skillsets than most classes. It’s just frustrating to other classes like Necros, Engineers, Elemenatlists, Warriors and Rangers who have ridiculous amounts of bugs, the patches come out the classes bring up their concerns, and this patch Warrriors recieved the longbow buff. Which didn’t make any sense because no one uses the longbow as a direct damage weapon but still that doesn’t stop ignorant people from coming onto the forums and using the “longbow buff” as some kind of great smoking gun in their infantile at best posts. 5!! posts into their (warriors) complaint thread they have John Peters replying to their concern about the fast hands minor trait bug and telling them it’s hard to fix when he should be replying to the concerns of the Ranger forums.

(Just venting) as it seems like Ignorant D-bags are the spoiled children of the internet that get all the attention.
