That’s great- shame it’s only addressing a symptom rather than the cause, but it’s something. Will your system protect people who are experiencing horrible streaks, or will they become collateral?
Being horrible, or being on a horrible streak will be protected
Being purposely horrible, or being purposely on a horrible streak will not
Can using conjured weapons such as Icebow or Flame Axe or Lightning Hammer be considered as purposely being horrible? I am worried.
Wow, really?! just remove stealth from the game then. Whats the point of stealth if you can’t use it….
Minions being able to be stealthed is intended. Minions that never come out of stealth even if stealth wears off is not intended.
Yep. They would appear right to the door. So you had to mentally follow the speed and guess were that doorbreaker could be.
It’s not even the league system… It’s how nothing is going to be balanced.
Oh that kitten annoying bug… Premades were abusing that.
Perma Resistance, Perma Stability, 2 healing skills, boon stripping, spamming conditions, spamming CC with one over 4 seconds, with an enormous physical damage capacity, using heavy armor.
How do you beat that?
Revenants deserve tier 3 health pool.
I actually think the balance is pretty good except for theives/warriors/non-elites pecs.
If the other 6 elite specs were what the game was it would be pretty blaanced imo, with revs slightly stronger than the rest. It’s still early though
buff warrior thief and non-elites. Go from there.
You probably play Revenant.
Well, stacking duration on auras needed to go. It was possible to stack over 2 minutes of frost auras at the start of a match.
Gale song is great and i prefer it. Combined with tempestious aria its even better. The 40s CD is long, but otherwise its very compftable. Added to the stunbreaks on overlaod this maks tempest quite stable.
The traits that need attention are:
Latent stamina: Clear loser against the other two traits. I don´t bother with it and don´t know what to put in…
Speedy conduit: Feels like a filler …. 25% basespeed added would be great.Tempestious aria: In larger groups this is outclassed by the other traits. It need a slight buff that helps in group fights. Shout CD reduction would be great. A +condition duration would fit perfectly to give something diffrent and new.
Imbued Melodies: Basicall it is good, but bound to warhorn makes it rare.
It’s odd. You find Gale Song good, but find Latent Stamina lacking. I am pretty sure that you’re amongst the ones who think that Latent Stamina truly has an ICD while the ICD is only for the on-swap part.
I don’t understand how some of you can pretend that Gale Song or Eye of the Storm is good. Gale Song and Tempestious Aria are two bad traits that would benefit to be combined together.
Epic queue time.
Depends. Are we talking about waterfall node?
Maybe, but still is it unreasonable for a pet to have an unblock able attack?
Repeat it 3 times in your head very quickly?
I think it is very unreasonable for this pet to have an attack that is above all logic. Think about it for a moment. Why on earth is it okay for it to be unblockable aside from the assertion that rangers are…. underpowered?
Why is it okay for auras to have zero counterplay other than stop attacking? See I can do this too. Theres no reason for a pet NOT to have an unblockable attack. Especially considering all the things rangers DON’T get because of there pets.
This attack has a slower and more obvious telegraph than most. I am sorry you didn’t think the guys pet was a threat and chose to ignore it and apparently got rolled by it.
Now give us a GOOD reason for this ONE pet not to have a form of attack that the ranger itself CAN’T have.
Edit: also If you played ranger youd realise it WASN’T random. It follows a VERY predictable pattern based on your range from the target. Just like every other pet does.
If the pet is equally a threat. Why is it justified that bark skin reduce the damage by 50% to the pet? It should be 33% if the pet is as dangerous as the player, no?

I consider Piercing Shard in my judgement of the trait. So far, weakspot is only good because it allows to apply a stack of vulnerability. That is all.
The multi hits ability will not go above 6 stacks. For a grandmaster minor.
Yeah but the 20% modifier only requires 1 stack to work. I mean a buff to 2 stacks per crits would make the trait worth using (or 1 stack but 100% chance) with other lines than water but with all the failed stuff (like our crappy elites and the crippled down fire line) I don’t think it’s on the list of priority by anet.
Well that would be the problem with Anet… Nothing is on the priority list.
Well… Unblockable attacks need not to be given away for no reasons, Shadelang. You don’t give unblockable “just because”; something in the skill needs to make it clear that it is unblockable.
All I see from rangers is them wanting broken and senseless stuff to balance their “inferiority complex”. Sorry if it’s not the case for you, but you’re probably the sort that would defend how bristlebacks used to have 35k health. You guys put your cards into the most idiotic things; I remember people defending unblockable/undodgeable taunts, defending the ultime boon copy from Heal as One… Etc.
I agree that you shouldn’t have unblockable things just bc. But Rangers have zero unblock able attacks. So is it completely unreasonable for a pet to have one?
They don’t even have control over that unblockable. Rangers should ask for something unblockable on their control instead of a random and frustrating thing.
Exactly. We don’t have control over it. So we have an INFERIOR unblockable mechanic. Thank you for better showing why this isn’t nearly as bad as your making it out to be.
Edit: You also havn’t addressed ANY of the points for keeping it.
Well, it procs randomly. Why make the game a more frustrating experience? I am pretty sure that you find this quite strong when you interrupt a revenant with that.

Edit: Also a LOT of veteran warriors have rerolled or quit the game entirely. Once we get a buff, I guarantee a drop in reaper representation.
Game is probably going to be dead already if they don’t balance until after January 25th.

…cmon Taunt is crappy GM now.
Revenant got twice longer passive Taunt, lol.
That’s in the past. People defended the bug, just like I see from Shadelang.
Revenant is a high skill low reward class. At no point have I played the class and felt like it was OP.
You’re probably just bad or just using the wrong build.
I probably have 5 hours on my Revenant and can easily wreck face. Hell, all the top teams on the leaderboards are using 2-3 Revenants because they have stupid high DPS. Use Unrelenting Assault to bait 2 dodges, spam condi and when they use their condition removal then spam banish enchantment for GG.
Viper Heralds are incredibly overpowered.
No I don’t think so. Obviously you have no idea what you’re talking about.
And you are playing reve ye?
I play rev everyday. I think they’re even weaker than thieves. Thieves that’s an actual problem, stealth is so OP they need a nerf.
I think I need to see an optometrist…

Takedown from the Smokescale is unblockable.
I got knocked down when casting Stone Sheath and it passes through arcane shield.
Superspeed during the Overload sounds useful. Remove the swiftness from it though
Too much super speed is not good.
But you could go Sanic speed. lol. Obviously adding superspeed to overload would replace the swiftness. Though honestly I prefer generally useful traits rather than traits that only are useful during overloads. That is why hardy conduit is now good ish, 40% dmg reduction on protection vs 33 is nice.
We just got the bug fix of 8 seconds of swiftness from 5. So you can actually press an overload button and you get 8 seconds of swiftness regardless if you intend to cancel it or not.
The system is supposed to be easier for new players.
Even the best of us are getting impatient.

I know some of the Tempest traits were left for later to touch. You were looking for ideas for Tempestuous Aria… Gale Song, et cetera.
Usually, the first idea that comes in mind is to combine Tempestuous Aria with Gale Song. It is mostly consistant with the philosophy brought in the June 23 patch where most traits that fits together were combined together.
Gale Song which procs Eye of the Storm could be looked at too. Eye of the Storm breaks stun in a 600 radius to allies, gives super speed for 5 seconds, long cooldown of 40 seconds. Eye of the Storm is obviously quite the boring shout and a lackluster one. So I had a few ideas for Eye of the Storm. Amongst them:
-It could grant one stack of stability.
-It could grant light aura (not shocking aura).
-It could grant a static charge to the allies and yourself. (That’s the buff you gain from overloading air)
-The super speed could be reduced to 3 seconds if something is added.
-A more reasonable cooldown.
For Lucid Singularity ideas were discussed too. I had to test the true meaning of -100% condition duration to movement-impeding conditions. It actually grants a total immunity to those conditions, which is better than expected. It ignores the conditions, it does not reduce the duration, and they will not be applied while overloading. So a few ideas thrown around:
-Adding Obsidian Focus to the trait (Thoughness when channeling)
-Completing an overload counts as a shout (But it would require Rune of Soldier too much)
-Super speed for 1.5 seconds at the begining of the Overload, and another 1.5 seconds upon completing the overload.
-Bonuses when an overload is recharching depending on the attunement. Air —> Crit chance ; Fire --> Power ; Water —> cleanse 1 condition every 5 seconds ; Earth --> Thoughness
We have Zephyr’s Speed, let’s not forget about it. With the bug fix on Speedy Conduit, it’s not so bad at the moment.
It gives a bit more. At 60% crit: 5 on dagger aa and 6 on scepter aa average.
Probably in PvE. I was talking to sPvP mostly without thinking too much about PvE.
It’s the grandmaster minor trait in air. It gives a chance (60%) on critical strike to cause 1 stack of vulnerability for 5 seconds.
Is it just me or this trait is probably the weakest grandmaster minor trait available? It means about 1 or 2 stack, 3 big maximum of vulnerability on target. But, don’t get me wrong I like the trait. It fits the Air line.
Why not give weakspot 2 stacks of vulnerability instead of 1, or even 3?
Gust should Launch instead of Knockback. Staff Water 2 should lose it’s vulnerability, double the CD, and become a blast finisher. Earth 2 should be able to be pressed twice to instant explosion but reduced damage / bleed stacks. Windborne Speed should remove Slow. FIREBALL SHOULDN’T LOOK LIKE A TENNIS BALL
Staff 2 losing vulnerability? Well, what about piercing shard? I would actually advocate for increasing the duration of that vulnerability to something more reasonable than 10 seconds.
Weak Spot could also see some improvement; I would like to see 2 stacks of vuln instead of the 1 we see for 5 seconds (It’s a grand minor that grants 3 stacks of vuln maximum at the moment).
It’s the guy you sweat and do some dirty work for.
Nope! No balance update.
If someone dodge roll into a Static Field, lightning rod is “evaded”.
If someone is blocking when walking into a Static Field, lightning rod is “blocked”.
Pulmanory Strike is unblockable; it would resolve nearly all issues on Lightning Rod. With the exception of the damage not being increased by Tempest’s Defense.
There is actually a pretty good Marauder Tempest build out there for sPvP.
Marauder Conjure Staff Tempest.

Welcome to the elementalist.
Elementalist auto-attacks are mainly worthless.
Tempest Defense’s damage increase to disabled target has not effected Lightning Rod since June 23rd. This bug has been reported numerous time; it is sad to see that the most effective way to fix bugs like that is to talk directly to the dev in a late night stream just like it was done for Invigorating Torrents/ Cleansing Water bug (without that, it would probably still have been bugged as of today.)
So the team qualifiying to attempt to replace a team in Pro League will probably consist of pips farmer? Amazing.
INB4 “Reduced visual noise for Geyser and Lava Font.”
kitten … I am 5 hour late for that.
Have you also checked if the 3rd tick was delayed? It is or was caused by the boon reapplying and at the same time reseting the count. So, the third tick would come in 2 seconds if you remained in water.
1. People complaining about Infuse Light
2. People ask to have a visual indication of the heal.
3. Reduce visual noise all across the board.
4. ????
5. Increasing visual noise of Infuse Light becomes a bad idea because it increases visual noise.
6. No need to give a visual indication of the heal.
7. Revenant keeps being overpowered.
8. People buy HoT.
Now you understand why there is those visual noise nerf patches.
They also forgot to change Lava Font, Burning Retreat, Meteor Shower, Water Blast, Ice Spike, Geyser, Frozen Ground, Healing Rain, Arc Lightning, Lightning Surge, Static Field, Stoning, Eruption, Unsteady Ground, Shockwave, Dragon’s Tooth, Phoenix, Shatterstone, Water Trident, Arc Lightning, Rock Barrier, Dust Devil, Heat Sync, Wildfire, Tidal Surge, Water Globe, Cyclone, Sand Squall, Dust Storm, Dragon’s Claw, Drake’s Breath, Ring of Fire, Vapor Blade, Cone of Cold, Cleansing Wave, Lightning Whip, Ride the Lightning, Ring of Earth, Churning Earth, Glyph of Storms, Mist Form, Armor of Earth, Tornado, Grasping Earth, and every summoned weapon skill.
You forgot Ether Renewal… The noise, I can’t stand it!
Why must Anet always miss this one extremely important detail?
How is it okay that high mmr players have to sweat to get out of bronze by playing against high mmr players?
Please reduce the visual noise of Arcane Shield.
I think they forgot to reduce Arcane Shield’s visual noise.
Prepare for some condition cancer…
The soldiers around the Lord could in Foefire could also have a better agro range, and more abilities that can put the enemy team in a difficult situation. The Lord alone is totally weaksauce when it comes to fighting.
I think celestial just needs a flat nerf across the board, and it could be updated to include expertise/concentration to make the power and condition damage stats even smaller.
Celestial is mostly used by some classes like Elementalist who simply cannot take any other amulets for a balanced build.
What if you face an Earth Shield Diamond Skin condition elementalist?
