If it crashes try checking lordbelgar link or alternatively try turning off your router’s firewall just to check if it works if not return your routers firewall back.

I think it’s a known issue specially with the shadows on. (Read somewhere that’s its camera smoothing bug?)

The Ram upgrade could help you in loading times or solve the crash your system might be running out of memory in WvW and I think for your system its normal to have low fps in WvW (probably known issue with large group fights.)

Event id 41 right? Can you try playing in window mode in the mean time? see if it does not trigger the shutdown?

Edit : Btw try setting the post processing to none and cap your frame rate to either 30 or 60

Can you go to Control Panel→ Administrative Tools → Event Viewer → Windows System logs and filter it with errors/critical and look of any event ids/info prior to the shutdown/crash? you can also check the application that may cause the error.

Speaking about WvW and sPvP, not sure about PvE.

Try it and see how easy it is to run through after you bounce the first time.

How bout the ring of warding?(Impassable Circle that traps you)

If you want just to complete maps or run around I suggest use shout build + staff then trait up to reduce 20% cooldowns ( 2hand skills + Shout skill)

Actually it’s playable that’s why it’s the minimum requirements. It’s playable in PvE and Story Mode probably in PvP as well but not in Large WvW fights. I also have a very old C2D ( E6300 @2.6ghz) + 560ti and 6gb ram with 1920×1080 resolution.

PvE / Story Mode – 25-30 fps
WvW (Small Group ) – 15-25fps
WvW (Large Group ) – 5 fps.

I think for the most part gw2 loves quad cores intels. My wife plays on Q6600 + 460gtx and she’s getting constant 30~40+ fps and only dips down to 15~20fps in large wvw fights.

Even the dual core SB beats the AMD FX 8 cores. AMD went behind when the Core 2 was released and hasn’t been able to catch up with intel hopefully with the changes in AMD we could see some improvements.

Posvio, there is no best. If you pick one you will lose the other. Basically pick the top three that matter to you most.

Vitality = more health (helps with Condition Dmg)
Toughness = less physical direct dmg (burst and warriors)
Condition Damage = bleeds, burns, poisen, etc, Any damage over time skills
Critical Damage = chance to crit on a hit, higher better
Precision = how accurate your every hit is
Power = how hard you actually hit

Just a correction

Precision = is the rate or % on how we deal Critical often
Critical Damage = % Bonus on Critical Damage when you landed a Crit.

The glass cannon builds usually are good in PvE but doesn’t bode well in WvW. You can try using it for taking camps with 2-3 people it’s doable.

As for WvW my suggestions would be take traits that keep you alive and removed conditions. Seems conditions are the king in WvW large fights.

It’s something related to the drivers. Have you tried using subsample/supersample/native?

There’s a scroll bar you can scroll down btw. Anyway can you try to update the chipset then try updating the vga.

What are the other downloads? Does it include intel chipsets? or probably bios update?

Nothing wrong with your card at all. You shouldn’t have even upgraded, you won’t even notice any performance increase with such slow processors. They are going to totally choke any current gen GPU. Your going to need >3Ghz i7, preferably 4Ghz to really let the 7970 shine.

He got a workstation. I think with 2 server CPU’s that’s enough even for 7970.

Ive applied the Youtube fix to my computer and I’m now getting a constant 30fps. I’ve seen dips to 27 but nothing like the 13-17 I was getting before.

That’s really weird. Even trying to input your serial/laptop model from the search box? I’m seeing Aspire 5750 /Z/G/ZG models and some have VGA intel drivers.

Was it the win7_64_15xxx dated 5/24/2012? Can you try to update the drivers manually? Go to Control Panel → Device Manager → Display Adapter (Should me Intel /HD3000) right click properties then update drivers. Click Browse my computer for Driver software then point it to the Acer folder?

That’s weird, the link is directly from Acer. Anyway you can try to use autodetect software from intel http://www.intel.com/support/detect.htm?iid=dc_iduu

It updates your graphic card to the latest driver (Intel 8.15.10.2342 date:6/25/2012). Does it fixed your problem?

Sorry late reply had to eat lunch. Anyway yeah that could be a problem. Have you tried USB wifi perhaps? I have this problem in my old P5B deluxe onboard wifi restarting the CPU fix it but sometimes it does drop suddenly.

Btw you got your laptop from a reseller right? or some store and haven’t reformatted it?

Laptop or Desktop? There’s a power option in your wireless properties that powersave wifi try un-ticking it.

Thanks lol. Egg usually do black friday/cybermonday sales or prior week to that. Think 60+ fps I’m still thinking to cap the fps to 60 until they optimized the games engine or update it to be compatible to DX11 or something.

I have an E6300 + 560ti dying for a new CPU + Mobo lol. While this setting plays Dota2 / other games fine, gw2 is playable (25-30fps) and dips down to 5fps in WvW lol.

You can try 306.20 or 304.79 see if any of the drivers help.

When you download either of the drivers click custom install → then tick perform clean installation.

Are you using the beta drivers ? 304.xx or 306.20? Remember to perform a custom install then do a clean installation. Have you also tried disabling Windows Auto restart? ( Control Panel → System → Advance System Settings → Start up and Recovery → untick Automatically Restart)

Well afaik gw2 uses 100% of 460m that brings the temp to about 85C up to 90C ( think this was close to the limit). You can either use some compressed air back at the vents to clean it or put a fan near the laptop. Also check the settings, limit your frames to 60, try disabling shadows/reflections and post processing see if it helps.

Afaik there might be a bug when turning turning off reflections and shadows help though.

It’s probably downclocking your graphic card due probably to heat. You can try to monitor it by either using MSI afterburner or GPU-Z and check if your GPU clocks dips down.

I have the G53jw (previous gen but almost have the same specs i7 740qm+ GTX 460m) and can play almost 5-8hrs +. Are you running any other programs while playing? Can you also go to Control Panel → Administrative tools – >Event Viewer then under Windows System logs filter the logs that shows Critical / Error. Check for the time and date of the crash and can you post the Event ID? or any other info prior to the crash.

Alpha read above I did comment on event viewer and what it is telling me. Basically says power was interupted….which any error that reboots your computer will have that …the last thing it does is lose power. Its event 41 and details state as follows : The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Jappa yea I think it has something to do with graphics or the programming causing an bsod which windows 7 doesnt show I guess unless you turn autoreboot off. But any bsod will cause the event of loss of power..

Are the modem/router ISP owned? I don’t usually rely on modem/router combo I always used a separate connection (modem + separate router for pcs).

If the modem/router is isp owned let them check it physically might be borked or something

There’s a new update in AMD site I think its Catalyst 12.8 or something. Remember to do a clean install when updating your videocard drivers. You can also check your ATI control center setting see the 3D image settings. Btw you can get more fps if you turn off reflections.

Are you using your campus internet connection? It seems some packets are lost.

Are you using subsample?or native? You might want to try to update you drivers? I’ve tested it with 7950GT card character should look ok not pixelated. Can you post an image perhaps?

Afaik they’re mostly Anet Employees some maybe GMs or others are Anet Programmers/Developers. Might be away or testing something.

Have you tried full client restart? Also what videocard are you using?

Can you try plugging in directly to your adsl modem? if there’s no problem then it might be your router. If you still continue getting disconnected even directly connected to your adsl modem you can check your phone box and phone wires see if the wires got busted or something.

Problems like these are usually the line/phone box/modem. Really best to check it with your ISP service tech specially if you’re paying them. Have them either personally check the lines or change your adsl modem.

edit : Btw sometimes even though they said it’s clear on their side its usually the phone box got problems.

Are you using ADSL modem thats connected to your phone line? Are you getting static noises from the phone? If yes you might want to contact your ISP and have your line checked.
