Overseas players… YOU are the key to our success!!
Actually it’s both on and off peak :P. We run WvW during off-peak US hours and I’ve only seen a handful of people/guilds playing. Anyway still hoping for SoR community site(any big guild? :P) so we could all plan (perhaps guild meetings?).
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
Can I add another suggestion? community site for Sanctum of Rall ?
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
You can check with either Cpu-Z or Hwinfo. There’s an ingame setting regarding Frames it’s defaulted to Unlimited try changing it to 60 or 30 see if still reboots. You also try to disable Automatic Restart on Windows ( Control Panel -> System -> Advance System -> Startup and Recovery -> untick auto restart.)
Edit : if possible can you attach your dxdiag ?
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
Try to limit the fps in game (60/30) instead of unlimited. Are you also running any overclocks?

Just delete the personal info you deemed unnecessary. People need to look for your computer specs and driver dates. Try updating your video card drivers see if it helps.

If you check your Crash Log(Arenanet.log) do you still see? on the Date and Time of the crash?
Assertion: dialogRect→y0 != dialogRect→y1
File: ..\..\..\Game\Ui\Services\DialogManager\DlmgInt.cpp(125)
Can you try setting your UI to Smaller or Larger? or even in window mode?

UAC is the one that controls Window pop up that if you want to install or run things as admin you can disable it from Control Panel\User Accounts\Change User Account Control settings → Disable/Never Notify. Check if it helps then run -repair after you disable it then limit the fps.

If that’s the only log then it ok don’t attach it. Anyway there’s no corrupted dats right? Can you set everything to Low ingame? or if you open the option window does it crash? See if installing SP1 also helps.

You might want to double check the case I think there’s no 2.5" slots for it so you need 3.5" to 2.5" Brackets for your SSD.

I would stay away from Alienware or Razer gaming laptops while they look good and such they are way overpriced that you can find similar spec laptops at a lower price.

Well OP wanted a PC to last for a few years. I doubt he’ll change to hashwell coming next year. An i7 with z77 would probably last for years (5years+ hence the warranty on sabertooth is tempting) .I’m still using C2D and CQD processors (with both asus mobo )and they work fine until now only upgrades for me was graphic card and some ram.
As for asrock it’s cheap alternative since the OP also isn’t going to OC his CPU. Don’t know but boards may vary as well to the user and the environment. I’ve setup a PC for my brother last time (E2160+ Asrock board) lasted him 3years + till he sold it off.
Yeah I’m going for 660 TI as well :P that is if you want to cut cost and you’re only playing gw2 for a while.
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
Using win 8 since Consumer prev. Guild Wars 2 runs perfectly fine.
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
Why no love for asrock? :P The z75 Pro 3/4 have excellent reviews (buyer and sites). Also the sabertooth has a 5 years warranty vs the others(2-3 years)you might want to look into that.
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
if it’s a nearly equally clocked i5 compared to i7, then there’s little benefit for the i7 especially in gaming. hyper threading doesn’t benefit most games, in fact it can make some run slightly slower due to overhead of the virtual cores.
Yep true but in terms of laptops the i7 quads > i5 duals. If its i7 (i7 3770k ) vs i5 (i5 3570k) desktop in gaming there would be no diff.
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
For Laptops the i7 really shine in CPU intensive games(ex gw2) since it’s a quad core vs dual cores.
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
For 660ti I think any high quality 850w will do.(Corsair/Seasonic/Thermaltake PSUs). I also saw newegg got 256GB Crucial M4 @ $160++ something .
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
You can get the 660 ti instead of the 580gtx then down the line SLI it and Probably Corsair HX series PSU. As for the SSD you need to set the SATA ports in BIOS in ACHI mode instead of IDE before installing an OS other than that everything looks fine.
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
The dat and temp file bothers me so I tried moving it to another folder, but the exe starts downloading the entire game again if I try to run it. Is there a way to get around this?
Put the exe together with the dat file and tmp file on a same folder.
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
Please do something about the low FPS already !

Problem with laptop is that they have the half the capacity of their desktop counterparts.
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
Temp solution is to remove the bad memory(hence the memtest). As I’ve said game checks your hardware for faults.
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
Try checking your memory with memtest. Also check https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Game-crashing-Memory-violation-c0000005-possible-solution/first#post129965
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
Did you remove the memory? Afaik everytime you launch the game it checks your hardware and the dat file.
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
Was the latest crash have UAC turned off or on? Are you running the game as admin as well?(right click run as admin or check properties and run it as admin )
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
Hmm let it finish the repair ? Is there any logs file or corrupted dat on your Gw2 folders (check Documents\Guildwars2 as well)
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
Try to disable UAC? then run the client.

Currently Isolating the issue probably due to core speed(downclocking then switching back to normal clocks).Try switching it to High perf UAC turned off then also disable automatic restart on failure ( System Properties -> Advance Option -> Startup and Recovery)
What powersettings? Game Mode?

Have you tried setting your power option to high perf? Also disable speedstep in bios? Is UAC turned on as well?
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
No prob. Just post back if you encounter any errors you can delete those info if you want just need some specs and such. Wife plays on a PC with UAC on so far no issue.
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
Tested last night (E6300 + 560ti all low settings, uncapped fps) getting 75 FPS BUT facing a wall or a big mountain side once I turn back to render people/open space I get 15fps

Might be. Try running chkdsk /r see if fix some errors.

Is there a crash log on your Documents\Guildwars 2 folder? or any corrupted dat files?
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
ugggg they charged me $24 for shipping just the board…. customer service told me they can’t combine an order after i purchase…. even though it was 15min apart.
well im off to go play at 15fps till later this week
thank you for the help!
Really? I thought they’re the easiest to talked about or request something since they haven’t shipped it yet. Think they have a forum as well you might wanna try sending some admins a message and try to request it to group the order as one?
Anyway have fun with your new purchase.
Eternal Breaker[ExB] || Sanctum of Rall
The UAC? it’s usually the one that pop up on Win Vista/7/8 telling you to run this program etc. Sometimes it cause program errors and such. I usually turn it off since I know what I’m installing and running on my PC. Anyway can you attach your dxdiag or game advisor?
